  • stdout, stderr, and what else? (going insane parsing slapadd output)

    I am using slapadd to restore a backup. That backup contains 45k entries which takes a while to restore so I need to get some progress update from slapadd. Luckily for me there is the -v switch which gives an output similar to this one: added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d53) added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d54) added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d55) .######## 44.22% eta 05m05s elapsed 04m spd 29.2 k/s added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d56) added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d57) added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d58) added: "[email protected],ou=People,dc=example,dc=org" (00003d59) Every N entries added, slapadd writes a progress update output line (.######## 44.22% eta 05m05s elapsed ...) which I want to keep and an output line for every entry created which I want to hide because it exposes people's email address but still want to count them to know how many users were imported The way I thought about hiding emails and showing the progress update is this: $ slapadd -v ... 2>&1 | tee log.txt | grep '########' # => would give me real-time progress update $ grep "added" log.txt | wc -l # => once backup has been restored I would know how many users were added I tried different variations of the above, and whatever I try I can't grep the progress update output line. I traced slapadd as follows: sudo strace slapadd -v ... This is the name of the update in update manager NVIDIA binary xorg driver, kernel module and VDPAU library.   • root issues in softwarecenter, synaptic and update manager

    Hi, I'm porting an application with EJBs 2.1 from Weblogic9 to JBoss AS5. I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR.     Hi everybody, Pretty new to Entity Framework I must admit, but I simply cannot believe that there is no built-in solution for this problem. Let's say I create an EntityCommand: EntityCommand cmd = conn.CreateCommand(); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.CommandText = commandText; And let's say the the commandText is something like this: SELECT sp.UserName, sp.Rights FROM EntityContext.Users as sp WHERE sp.UserName=@UserName Now it would be really neat if the Parameters collection of cmd could be automatically filled. The framework should obviously know the types etc. but I guess that's simply not how it works beneath. The problem is that the commandText is configurable on run-time, and I must show some GUI that asks for values of the parameters. Any idea on how this could be accomplished? Am I using this incorrectly? What are some better ways I can define dynamic method names and dynamic names inside the method like this? I see people use this often instead of define_method (see these classes in resource_controller and couchrest toward the bottom). What I missing here? Thanks for the help

    hi my knowledge of xml and php is somewhat basic but have been able to parse a simple xml document (one level) ~ <numbers> <number>1</number> <number>2</number> </numbers> i'm attempting to parse an xml document from a website providing the latest market prices for gold bullion. I think i'm going to need a paid professional but want to give it a shot the xml file looks like this: <envelope> <message type="MARKET_DEPTH_A" version="0.1"> <market> <pitches> <pitch securityClassNarrative="GOLD" securityId="AUXLN" considerationCurrency="GBP" > <buyPrices> <price actionIndicator="B" quantity="0.153" limit="23477" /> </buyPrices> <sellPrices> <price actionIndicator="S" quantity="0.058" limit="23589" /> </sellPrices> </pitch> </pitches> </market> </message> </envelope> and simply i have no idea how to access the values within the "headings". (whatever the term is) sounds like i'm asking for someone to do it for me, which I don't want, but I don't know what to search for ~ it doesn't look like a regular xml structure to me. thanks!

    Hi, I am trying to create a social timeline. I pull in feeds form certain places so I have a timeline of thing I have done. The problem I am having is with Google reader Shared Items. I want to get the time at which I shared the item which is contained in <entry gr:crawl-timestamp-msec="1269088723811"> Trying to get the element using $date = $xml->entry[$i]->link->attributes()->gr:crawl-timestamp-msec; fails because of the : after gr which causes a PHP error.   • Parsing JPEG file format: Format of entropy-coded segment (ECS) segments?

    I'm having difficulty understanding the ITU-T T.81 spec for the JPEG file format. Hopefully someone else here has tried to parse JPEG files and/or knows about the details of this file format. The spec indiates that the ECS0 segment starts after the SOS segment but I can't find where in the spec it actually talks about the format of the ECS0 segment or how do detect its start. Simple JPEG implementations online are of limited help because they assume many things about the JPEGs they parse. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
