  • Print raw data to a thermal-printer using c#

    - by blauesocke
    Hi, I'm trying to print out raw ascii data to a thermal printer. I do this by using this code example: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322091 but my printer prints always only one character and this not until I press the form feed button. If I print something with notepad the printer will do a form feed automatically but without printing any text. The printer is connected via usb over a lpt2usb adapter and Windows 7 uses the "Generic - Generic / Text Only" driver. Anyone knows what is going wrong? How is it possible to print some words and do some form feeds? Are there some control characters I have to send? And if yes: How do I send them? Thanks!

  • Host a IWpfTextView in a custom tool for a Visual Studio Extension

    - by Adam Driscoll
    I'm trying to create a IWpfTextView and then put it into a custom tool window. I can create the view, read a file to populate the ITextBuffer and display the view into my tool. I cannot edit the code at all and the code is not syntax highlighted. What steps am I missing to make this a full fledged editor? Code: IComponentModel componentModel = (IComponentModel)GetGlobalService (typeof(SComponentModel)); var _textEditorFactoryService = componentModel.GetService<ITextEditorFactoryService>(); var _textBufferFactoryService = componentModel.GetService<ITextBufferFactoryService>(); var _contentTypeRegistryService = componentModel.GetService<IContentTypeRegistryService>(); TextReader reader = new StreamReader(fileName); var types = _contentTypeRegistryService.GetContentType("CSharp"); ITextBuffer textBuffer = _textBufferFactoryService.CreateTextBuffer(reader, types); var view = _textEditorFactoryService.CreateTextView(textBuffer); IWpfTextViewHost editor = _textEditorFactoryService.CreateTextViewHost(view, true);

  • Parsing RSS2.0 feeds using Pull Parser on Android

    - by Samuh
    I am trying to parse a RSS2.0 feed, obtained from a remote server, on my Android device using XML Pull Parser. // get a parser instance and set input,encoding XmlPullParser parser = Xml.newPullParser(); parser.setInput(getInputStream(), null); I am getting invalid token exceptions: Error parsing document. (position:line -1, column -1) caused by: org.apache.harmony.xml.ExpatParser$ParseException: At line 158, column 25: not well-formed (invalid token) Strangely, when I download the feed XML on the device, bundle it inside the raw folder and then run the same code. Everything works fine. What could be the problem here? How do I validate the XML before I parse it on device? Thanks.

  • Using AES encryption in .NET - CryptographicException saying the padding is invalid and cannot be removed

    - by Jake Petroules
    I wrote some AES encryption code in C# and I am having trouble getting it to encrypt and decrypt properly. If I enter "test" as the passphrase and "This data must be kept secret from everyone!" I receive the following exception: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Padding is invalid and cannot be removed. at System.Security.Cryptography.RijndaelManagedTransform.DecryptData(Byte[] inputBuffer, Int32 inputOffset, Int32 inputCount, Byte[]& outputBuffer, Int32 outputOffset, PaddingMode paddingMode, Boolean fLast) at System.Security.Cryptography.RijndaelManagedTransform.TransformFinalBlock(Byte[] inputBuffer, Int32 inputOffset, Int32 inputCount) at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptoStream.FlushFinalBlock() at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptoStream.Dispose(Boolean disposing) at System.IO.Stream.Close() at System.IO.Stream.Dispose() ... And if I enter something less than 16 characters I get no output. I believe I need some special handling in the encryption since AES is a block cipher, but I'm not sure exactly what that is, and I wasn't able to find any examples on the web showing how. Here is my code: using System; using System.IO; using System.Security.Cryptography; using System.Text; public static class DatabaseCrypto { public static EncryptedData Encrypt(string password, string data) { return DatabaseCrypto.Transform(true, password, data, null, null) as EncryptedData; } public static string Decrypt(string password, EncryptedData data) { return DatabaseCrypto.Transform(false, password, data.DataString, data.SaltString, data.MACString) as string; } private static object Transform(bool encrypt, string password, string data, string saltString, string macString) { using (AesManaged aes = new AesManaged()) { aes.Mode = CipherMode.CBC; aes.Padding = PaddingMode.PKCS7; int key_len = aes.KeySize / 8; int iv_len = aes.BlockSize / 8; const int salt_size = 8; const int iterations = 8192; byte[] salt = encrypt ? new Rfc2898DeriveBytes(string.Empty, salt_size).Salt : Convert.FromBase64String(saltString); byte[] bc_key = new Rfc2898DeriveBytes("BLK" + password, salt, iterations).GetBytes(key_len); byte[] iv = new Rfc2898DeriveBytes("IV" + password, salt, iterations).GetBytes(iv_len); byte[] mac_key = new Rfc2898DeriveBytes("MAC" + password, salt, iterations).GetBytes(16); aes.Key = bc_key; aes.IV = iv; byte[] rawData = encrypt ? • HttpWebResponse with MJPEG and multipart/x-mixed-replace; boundary=--myboundary response content typ

    - by arri.me
    I have an ASP.NET application that I need to show a video feed from a security camera. The video feed has a content type of 'multipart/x-mixed-replace; boundary=--myboundary' with the image data between the boundaries. I need assistance with passing that stream of data through to my page so that the client side plugin I have can consume the stream just as it would if I browsed to the camera's web interface directly. The following code does not work: //Get response data byte[] data = HtmlParser.GetByteArrayFromStream(response.GetResponseStream()); if (data != null) { HttpContext.Current.Response.OutputStream.Write(data, 0, data.Length); } return;

  • Iphone NSXMLParser NSCFString memory leak

    - by atticusalien
    I am building an app that parses an rss feed. In the app there are two different types of feeds with different names for the elements in the feed, so I have created an NSXMLParser NSObject that takes the name of the elements of each feed before parsing. Here is my code: NewsFeedParser.h #import @interface NewsFeedParser : NSObject { NSInteger NewsSelectedCategory; NSXMLParser *NSXMLNewsParser; NSMutableArray *newsCategories; NSMutableDictionary *NewsItem; NSMutableString *NewsCurrentElement, *NewsCurrentElement1, *NewsCurrentElement2, *NewsCurrentElement3; NSString *NewsItemType, *NewsElement1, *NewsElement2, *NewsElement3; NSInteger NewsNumElements; } - (void) parseXMLFileAtURL:(NSString *)URL; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsItemType; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement1; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement2; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement3; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *newsCategories; @property(assign, nonatomic) NSInteger NewsNumElements; @end NewsFeedParser.m #import "NewsFeedParser.h" @implementation NewsFeedParser @synthesize NewsItemType; @synthesize NewsElement1; @synthesize NewsElement2; @synthesize NewsElement3; @synthesize newsCategories; @synthesize NewsNumElements; - (void)parserDidStartDocument:(NSXMLParser *)parser{ } - (void)parseXMLFileAtURL:(NSString *)URL { newsCategories = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"\n" withString:@""]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""]; //you must then convert the path to a proper NSURL or it won't work NSURL *xmlURL = [NSURL URLWithString:URL]; // here, for some reason you have to use NSClassFromString when trying to alloc NSXMLParser, otherwise you will get an object not found error // this may be necessary only for the toolchain [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] setMemoryCapacity:0]; [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] setDiskCapacity:0]; NSXMLNewsParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:xmlURL]; // Set self as the delegate of the parser so that it will receive the parser delegate methods callbacks. [NSXMLNewsParser setDelegate:self]; // Depending on the XML document you're parsing, you may want to enable these features of NSXMLParser. [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldProcessNamespaces:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldReportNamespacePrefixes:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldResolveExternalEntities:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser parse]; [NSXMLNewsParser release]; } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser parseErrorOccurred:(NSError *)parseError { NSString * errorString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Unable to download story feed from web site (Error code %i )", [parseError code]]; NSLog(@"error parsing XML: %@", errorString); UIAlertView * errorAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"Error loading content" message:errorString delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [errorAlert show]; [errorAlert release]; [errorString release]; } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser didStartElement:(NSString *)elementName namespaceURI:(NSString *)namespaceURI qualifiedName:(NSString *)qName attributes:(NSDictionary *)attributeDict{ NewsCurrentElement = [elementName copy]; if ([elementName isEqualToString:NewsItemType]) { // clear out our story item caches... NewsItem = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; NewsCurrentElement1 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; NewsCurrentElement2 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { NewsCurrentElement3 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; } } } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser didEndElement:(NSString *)elementName namespaceURI:(NSString *)namespaceURI qualifiedName:(NSString *)qName{ if ([elementName isEqualToString:NewsItemType]) { // save values to an item, then store that item into the array... [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement1 forKey:NewsElement1]; [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement2 forKey:NewsElement2]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement3 forKey:NewsElement3]; } [newsCategories addObject:[[NewsItem copy] autorelease]]; [NewsCurrentElement release]; [NewsCurrentElement1 release]; [NewsCurrentElement2 release]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { [NewsCurrentElement3 release]; } [NewsItem release]; } } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser foundCharacters:(NSString *)string { //NSLog(@"found characters: %@", string); // save the characters for the current item... if ([NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement1]) { [NewsCurrentElement1 appendString:string]; } else if ([NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement2]) { [NewsCurrentElement2 appendString:string]; } else if (NewsNumElements == 3 && [NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement3]) { [NewsCurrentElement3 appendString:string]; } } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; [newsCategories release]; [NewsItemType release]; [NewsElement1 release]; [NewsElement2 release]; [NewsElement3 release]; } When I create an instance of the class I do like so: NewsFeedParser *categoriesParser = [[NewsFeedParser alloc] init]; if(newsCat == 0) { categoriesParser.NewsItemType = @"article"; categoriesParser.NewsElement1 = @"category"; categoriesParser.NewsElement2 = @"catid"; } else { categoriesParser.NewsItemType = @"article"; categoriesParser.NewsElement1 = @"category"; categoriesParser.NewsElement2 = @"feedUrl"; } [categoriesParser parseXMLFileAtURL:feedUrl]; newsCategories = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray:categoriesParser.newsCategories copyItems:YES]; [self.tableView reloadData]; [categoriesParser release]; If I run the app with the leaks instrument, the leaks point to the [NSXMLNewsParser parse] call in the NewsFeedParser.m. Here is a screen shot of the Leaks instrument with the NSCFStrings leaking: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3997/leaks.png For the life of me I can't figure out where these leaks are coming from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Simple RSS parser for Android

    - by Andrioid
    Hello, I am trying to create my first Android application and I'm not all that experienced with Java development. In short, the application needs to do the following: On click, fetch a RSS feed online Parse it for data Show the data I've been browsing for guides, tutorials and documentation but the parsers I've found so far only deal with local strings or files or are way too complicated for me to go through at this point. Can you provide me a link to a good XML parser class (that is included in the Android SDK) Provide me with an example of its use. An example of how the feed would get fetched from the Internet (curl? or something internal?) (Bonus) Tips and hints on how this would be best achieved. Thanks in advance.

  • Embedded ZXing - what am I missing?

    - by Brian515
    Hi all, Sorry if this has been answered before, but I am trying to make an application that will include the ability to scan barcodes on Android. I'm looking at using ZXing as the library, however, I want to embed the scanner in my application so that the user doesn't have to have the ZXing barcode scanner installed to use my application. From the description of ZXing, it sounds like this is possible. I've gotten as far as building ZXing, linking it into my project in Eclipse, then creating a new reader instance. However, I'm lost when it comes to starting the barcode reader and implementing the callbacks. IMO, this is when the documentation here gets hazy. If someone could explain how to use ZXing properly, that would be of great help. Cheers!

  • Forms Authentication logs out very quickly , locally works fine !!!

    - by user319075
    Hello to all, There's a problem that i am facing with my hosting company, I use a project that uses FormsAuthentication and the problem is that though it successfully logs in, it logs out VERY QUICKLY, and i don't know what could be the cause of that, so in my web.config file i added those lines: <authentication mode="Forms" > <forms name="Nadim" loginUrl="Login.aspx" defaultUrl="Default.aspx" protection="All" path="/" requireSSL="false"/> </authentication> <authorization> <deny users ="?" /> </authorization> <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=localhost:42424" cookieless="false" timeout="1440"> </sessionState> and this is the code i use in my custom login page : protected void PasswordCustomValidator_ServerValidate(object source, ServerValidateEventArgs args) { try { UsersSqlDataSource.SelectParameters.Clear(); UsersSqlDataSource.SelectCommand = "Select * From Admins Where AdminID='" + IDTextBox.Text + "' and Password='" + PassTextBox.Text + "'"; UsersSqlDataSource.SelectCommandType = SqlDataSourceCommandType.Text; UsersSqlDataSource.DataSourceMode = SqlDataSourceMode.DataReader; reader = (SqlDataReader)UsersSqlDataSource.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty); if (reader.HasRows) { reader.Read(); if (RememberCheckBox.Checked == true) Page.Response.Cookies["Admin"].Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(5); args.IsValid = true; string userData = "ApplicationSpecific data for this user."; FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket1 = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, IDTextBox.Text, System.DateTime.Now, System.DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30), true, userData, FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath); string encTicket = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(ticket1); Response.Cookies.Add(new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, encTicket)); Response.Redirect(FormsAuthentication.GetRedirectUrl(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked)); //FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked); } else args.IsValid = false; } catch (SqlException ex) { ErrorLabel.Text = ex.Message; } catch (InvalidOperationException) { args.IsValid = false; } catch (Exception ex) { ErrorLabel.Text = ex.Message; } Also you will find that line of code: FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked); is commented because i thought there might be something wrong with the ticket when i log in , so i created it manually , every thing i know i tried but nothing worked, so does anyone have any idea what is the problem ? Thanks in advance, Baher.

  • FullCalendar: Change agendaDay background-color..

    - by Nick-ACNB
    While I have seen this question asked, I haven't seen the answer. Basically, I just want to be able to color the background-color of the TD from a certain range.. Say I have my calendar that has slot minutes every 15 minutes and from 9am to 9pm, I would like to only color differently 10am to 3pm. This information would be coming from a feed but that is not an issue. I haven't found the TDs relating to a set time inside the calendar. Perhaps I missed something? :) I am rather new to jQuery and fullCalendar. Also, another quick question that is unrelated to the main one: is it possible from an event handler to get the id of the calendar that launched it? I have multiple calendars on my page to simulate something like a Gantt view. This will let me be able to fetch the right feed and populate the right events. Thank you for your time.

  • The Zen of Python distils the guiding principles for Python into 20 aphorisms but lists only 19. What's the twentieth?

    - by Jeff Walden
    From PEP 20, The Zen of Python: Long time Pythoneer Tim Peters succinctly channels the BDFL's guiding principles for Python's design into 20 aphorisms, only 19 of which have been written down. What is this twentieth aphorism? Does it exist, or is the reference merely a rhetorical device to make the reader think? (One potential answer that occurs to me is that "You aren't going to need it" is the remaining aphorism. If that were the case, it would both exist and act to make the reader think, and it would be characteristically playful, thus fitting the list all the better. But web searches suggest this to be an extreme programming mantra, not intrinsically Pythonic wisdom, so I'm stumped.)

  • SEO chaos from changing robots.txt file in Wordpress site

    - by Seedorf
    Hi there, I recently edited the robots.txt file in my site using a wordpress plugin. However, since i did this, google seems to have removed my site from their search page. I'd appreciate if I could get an expert opinion on why this is so, and a possible solution. I'd initially done it to increase my search ranking by limiting the pages being accessed by google. This is my robots.txt file in wordpress: User-agent: * Disallow: /cgi-bin Disallow: /wp-admin Disallow: /wp-includes Disallow: /wp-content/plugins Disallow: /wp-content/cache Disallow: /trackback Disallow: /feed Disallow: /comments Disallow: /category/*/* Disallow: */trackback Disallow: */feed Disallow: */comments Disallow: /*?* Disallow: /*? • Parsing Json Feeds with google Gson

    - by mnml
    I would like to know how to parse a json feed by items, eg. url / title / description for each item. I have had a look to the doc / api but, it didn't help me. This is what I got so far import com.google.gson.Gson; import com.google.gson.JsonObject; public class ImportSources extends Job { public void doJob() throws IOException { String json = stringOfUrl("http://feed.test/all.json"); JsonObject jobj = new Gson().fromJson(json, JsonObject.class); Logger.info(jobj.get("responseData").toString()); } public static String stringOfUrl(String addr) throws IOException { ByteArrayOutputStream output = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); URL url = new URL(addr); IOUtils.copy(url.openStream(), output); return output.toString(); } }

  • Large file upload into WSS v3

    - by Rubens Farias
    I'd built an WSSv3 application which upload files in small chunks; when every data piece arrives, I temporarly keep it into a SQL 2005 image data type field for performance reasons**. Problem come when upload ends; I need to move data from my SQL Server to Sharepoint Document Library through WSSv3 object model. Right now, I can think two approaches: SPFileCollection.Add(string, (byte[])reader[0]); // OutOfMemoryException and SPFile file = folder.Files.Add("filename", new byte[]{ }); using(Stream stream = file.OpenBinaryStream()) { // ... init vars and stuff ... while ((bytes = reader.GetBytes(0, offset, buffer, 0, BUFFER_SIZE)) 0) { stream.Write(buffer, 0, (int)bytes); // Timeout issues } file.SaveBinary(stream); } Are there any other way to complete successfully this task? ** Performance reasons: if you tries to write every chunk directly at Sharepoint, you'll note a performance degradation as file grows up (100Mb).

  • Reading from compressed lucene index

    - by Akhil
    I created a lucene index and compressed the index directory with bz2 or zip. I donot want to uncompress it. Is there any API call that can read the index from this zipped directory and thus allow searching and other functionalities. That is, can lucence IndexReader read the index from a compressed file. I saw that Lucnene IndexReader does not support "Reader" to open the index, otherwise I would have created a Reader class that uncompresses the file and streams the uncompressed version. Any alternatives to this are welcome. Thanks, Akhil

Here is a screen shot of the Leaks instrument with the NSCFStrings leaking: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3997/leaks.png For the life of me I can't figure out where these leaks are coming from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Reading a document's content from the gdata API?

    - by user246114
    Hi, I'm using the java library to access the gdata api. I just want to be able to print the contents of a document. I setup my project to list all the docs in my feed, now that I have a document listing, I want to print its contents: for (DocumentListEntry entry : feed.getEntries()) { // Ok, how do we print the doc's contents now? entry.getContents(); } It looks like we're supposed to get the URL from the entry, then read the contents at the URL ourselves. I found a post stating that this is how we get that URL: MediaContent content = (MediaContent)entry.getContent(); String url = content.getUri(); but when I try to read from it, I get an html response saying 'this content has moved'. I read that this is because we have to authenticate our http-read method, but I'm not sure how to do that. Is there really no built-in way to do this? Thanks

  • WPF Application that only has a tray icon

    - by Michael Stum
    I am a total WPF newbie and wonder if anyone could give me some pointers how to write an application that starts minimized to tray. The idea is that it periodically fetches an RSS Feed and creates a Toaster-Popup when there are new feeds. The Application should still have a Main Window (essentially just a list containing all feed entries), but that should be hidden by default. I have started reading about XAML and WPF and I know that the StartupUri in the App.xaml has to point to my main window, but I have no idea what the proper way is to do the SysTray icon and hide the main window (this also means that when the user minimizes the window, it should minimize to tray, not to taskbar). Any hints?

  • Can we generate multiple coverage reports using Hudson Emma plugin

    - by Subhashish
    We run both unit (junit) and system (fit) tests on instrumented code in our build. The consolidated coverage report for both is generated as part of the build itself. We then feed the unit test coverage report to the Hudson Emma plugin, configure benchmark numbers and things work nicely. Is it possible to also feed in the system test coverage report separately to the same plugin so that we can get that report and configure benchmarks for that as well? I know there is a workaround of creating a downstream project for the latter activity but it would be good to be able to do both in the same build.

  • WinForm PDF viewer with programatic search functionality

    - by Anthony Shaw
    We are currently using PDFTron's PDFView WinForm control to view PDF's in a WinForm application. I can load the file and search the file to highlight a certain text value. We have run into an issue where we have expired our trial license period and do not wish to shell out the $900/seat licensing on 15-20 computers. Does anybody know if the ActiveX Adobe Reader control can support the searching functionality programatically? I've tried that and the FoxIt Reader OCX control and neither seem to have this feature exposed (unless it's hidden really well) Does anybody have any suggestions for other freeware/open source viewers, or less-expensive viewers? TIA!

  • Setting encoding in Grails controller's render method

    - by Philippe
    Hello, I'm trying to build an RSS feed using Grails and Rome. In my controller's rss action, my last command is : render(text: getFeed("rss_2.0"), contentType:"application/rss+xml", encoding:"ISO-8859-1 ") However, when I navigate to my feed's URL, the header is : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" version="2.0"> ... Does anyone have a clue about WHY the encoding is UTF-8 when I set it to ISO-8859-1 in the render method ??? Thanks for your help !

  • How to remove accent characters from an InputStream

    - by Samuh
    I am trying to parse a Rss2.0 feed on Android using a Pull parser. XmlPullParser parser = Xml.newPullParser(); parser.setInput(url.open(), null); The prolog of the feed XML says the encoding is "utf-8". When I open the remote stream and pass this to my Pull Parser, I get invalid token, document not well formed exceptions. When I save the XML file and open it in the browser(FireFox) the browser reports presence of Unicode 0x12 character(grave accent?) in the file and fails to render the XML. What is the best way to handle such cases assuming that I do not have any control over the XML being returned? Thanks.
