  • Qt/C++ event loop exception handling

    I am having an application heavily based on QT and on a lot of third party libs. THese happen to throw some exceptions in several cases. In a native Qt App this causes the application to abort or terminate. Often the main data model is still intact as I am keeping it in pure Qt with no external data. So I am thinking that I could also just recover by telling the user that there has occured an error in this an that process and he should save now or even decide to continue working on the main model. Currently the program jsut silently exits without even telling a story. Please help.

    Hi, i have a page with a list of items. Each item has a print now link (a.printMe) to print each item. At the end of the list, there's a print all link (a.printAll) to print all items. I want to track number of times an item was printed. If a.printAll link is clicked, then i will send all the item's tracking value to Omniture. I added tracking string into individual item's a.printMe href attribute and track with the following functions: $('a.printMe').click(function() { var value = $(this).attr('href'); track(value); }); $('a.printAll').click(function() { $('a.printMe').each(function() { this.click(); }); // works in IE only. IE 6-8 }); function track(value) { var s = s_gi('account'); s.prop10 = value; s.linkTrackVars = 'prop10'; s.tl(true, 'o'); } The problem is only the last item (in the list) has its value sent to Omniture when i clicked on a.printAll. I finally got the above to work in IE but not Firefox. Anyone encounter this before?

    I'm trying to get the def wfsc_pod1 and wfsc_ip into the same def. I'm not quite sure how to approach the problem. I want wfsc_pod1 to display all the information for name, subnet and gateway. Then wfsc_ip shows the ip addresses below it. I also get a None value when I run it as it. Not sure why.     I have a minor problem while checking for elements in a list: I have two files with contents something like this file 1: file2: 47 358 47 48 450 49 49 56 50 I parsed both files into two lists and used the following code to check for i in file_1: for j in file_2: j = j.split() if i == j[1]: x=' '.join(j) I am now trying to get a "0" if the value of file_1 is not there in file_2 for example, value "48" is not there is file_2 so I need to get the output like (with only one space in between the two numbers): output_file: 358 47 0 48 450 49 56 50 I tried using the dictionary approach but I didn't quite get what I wanted (actually I don't know how to use dictionary in python correctly ;)). Any help will be great.

    I'd like to use a windows powershell to run a batch file every x number of seconds. So it's the same batch file being run over and over again. I've done some looking but can't find what i'm looking for. It's for something that i want to run on a windows xp machine. Windows Schedular i've used lot of times before for somethign similar, but for some reason schedular only runs once.. then no more. i also don't want to have the batch file call itself, because it will error out after it runs so many times. thanks shannon

The below query works perfect if I put it directly in my taxonomy.php file. What am I missing to make this work as a function?     Consider the following: I have a class CDevices containing, amongst others, a string member class CDevice { public: CDevice(void); ~CDevice(void); // device name std::string Device_Name; etc... } and somewhere else in my code I define another class that contains a vector of pointers to CDevices class CDevice; class CServers { public: CServers(void); ~CServers(void); // Devices vector vector<CDevice*> Devices; etc... } The problem appears in the following lines in my main.c pDevice = new CDevice; pDevice->Device_Name = "de"; Devices.push_back(pDevice); pDevice->Device_Name = " revolotiunibus"; Devices.push_back(pDevice); pDevice->Device_Name = " orbium"; Devices.push_back(pDevice); pDevice->Device_Name = " coelestium"; Devices.push_back(pDevice); for(int i = 0; i < (int)Devices.size(); ++i) cout << "\nLoad name = " << Devices.at(i)->Device_Name << endl; The output I get is " coelestium" repeated four times: each time I push_back a new element into the vector all of the already existing elements take the value of the one which has just been added. I have also tried using iterators to recover each element in the vector with the same results. Could someone please tell me what's wrong here? Thankx

    I'm trying to run 96 regressions and save the results as 96 different objects. To complicate things, I want the subscript on one of the covariates in the model to also change 96 times. I've almost solved the problem but I've unfortunately hit a wall. The code so far is, for(i in 1:96){ assign(paste("z.out", i,sep=""), lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_i+ Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies)) } This works on the object creation side (e.g. I have z.out1 - z.out96) but I can't seem to get the subscript on the covariate to change as well. I have 96 variables called TE_1, TE_2 ... TE_96 in the dataset. As such, the subscript on TE_, the "i" needs to change to correspond to each of the objects I create. That is, z.out1 should hold the results from this model: z.out1 <- lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_1 + Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies) And z.out96 should be: z.out96 <- lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_96+ Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies) Hopefully this makes sense.   • How to avoid Modal Storyboard infinite loop

    I've written a number of iOS applications a year ago on an old version of Xcode. I've just started a new project and discovered the storyboard feature in the latest Xcode. It turns out this is perfect for the application I am writing as it consists of ~30 interlinked screens. My question is, how do I structure my storyboard and segues to allow my application to follow a circular path through my screens. I have seen a number of examples that simply segue screen 1 to screen 2 and then screen 2 to screen 1 using the modal option. This clearly works but when I debug an application built this way, it instantiates a new instance of each screen (view controller) for every segue performed. In the diagram below (apologies, I drew a nice picture but due to my newbie status, was not able to post it), how do I go from screen 1 to screen 2 to screen 3 and back to original screen 1 without creating a new instance? // Screen 1 --> Screen 2 --> Screen3 // ^ | // | | // +-------------------------+
