• Google checkout - Order processing notification handler

  Hi I need to integrate google checkout on my website. I have successfully implemented the order placing and others stuff and using the sandbox I have tested that users can successfully add items to cart and and pay thereafter. I am using my own customized shopping cart written in php mysql. The last thing I need to do is pass the new order id to google checkout and receive notifications with the new order id as well as other data google sends. I know I have to setup a path to the handler script in my accounts. I did it in my sandbox account as well. But can't find a simple pice of code to get it done. Even if I use sample code from google, just cant figure out the format of the returned data in new order notification and also how to send custom data to the cart, which would come back with new order notifications? I am just lost on this. Please help!

• Is it possible with dynamic TSQL query ?

  I have very long select query which i need to filter based on some params, i'm trying to avoid having different stored procedures or if statements inside of single stored procedure by using partly dynamic TSQL... I will avoid long select just for example sake select a from b where c=@c or d=@d @c and @d are filter params, only one can filter at the same time but also both filters could be disabled. 0 for each of these means param is disables so i can create nvarchar with where statement in it... How do i integrate in here dynamic query so 'where' can be added to normal query. I cannot add all the query as big nvarchar because there is too many things in it which will require changes ( ie. when's, subqueries, joins)

• Do you use Phing?

  Does anyone use Phing to deploy PHP applications, and if so how do you use it? We currently have a hand-written "setup" script that we run whenever we deploy a new instance of our project. We just checkout from SVN and run it. It sets some basic configuration variables, installs or reloads the database, and generates a v-host for the site instance. I have often thought that maybe we should be using Phing. I haven't used ant much, so I don't have a real sense of what Phing is supposed to do other than script the copying of files from one place to another much as our setup script does. What are some more advanced uses that you can give examples of to help me understand why we would or would not want to integrate Phing into our process.

  I want to do the architectural design for a software that can be used integrate various third party software’s (executable) under one platform. Standard project types will be added to the platform by default. The project type defines the way in which the different software will be executed and their input and output files. The user can customize the available standard project type and that will be added to the platform as new project type which defines new custom execution flow. Also it should support easy extension and customization of the features. I read that plug-in based architecture supports both. What are the advantages and disadvantages of plug-in based architecture?   i cant seem to figure out how to add the admob widget into my application. i want to add the widget to a linearlayout that is the child of a relative layout. the linerlayout was created just for the ad. and have it update/refresh the ad each time a button is pressed. i have already imported the JAR,edited my manifest to include the permissions and publisher id. but i cant seem to exactly figure out how to add integrate the admob code.

  I am trying to integrate my custom user system with Wordpress, and I have recently asked a question on how to redirect requests to wp-login.php to my own login/registration page, but as I was working on the pluggable functions, I realized that requests to wp-login.php can either be for login, registration, or log out. This is set in the action argument that's made in the request. What I am trying to figure out is how to get this action argument, so I can redirect the request to my custom pages.   Hello everyone, I need to develop an instant messenger (like MSN Messagner, but only simple and basic function is fine), based on .Net (C#). I want to integrate the instant messenger with my current web site user. I want to know any open source (better C#) instant messenger to reference? BTW: some of the users are using internal IP address (behind a gateway or proxy, like 10.10.xxx.xxx) -- so in this scenario two users can not use point to point message transfer if both of them are behind a gateway? • Can you recommend wiki, forum, blog & cms plugins for an existing Rails app or should I go the route

  Hello. I have an existing Rails internal app, that handles inventory, invoicing, order taking, labeling, data imports/exports, etc, etc. Now I need to add blog, cms, forum and wiki functionality to it. It seems silly to try to roll out my own solutions when there are already some out there. So I was wondering if people could recommend based on their experience: Are there good plugins out there? (Which ones you had experience with?) Would you rather recommend to go the route of engines, and integrate RadiantCMS or similar apps? (please provide recommendations based on your integration experience) Or would you just bite the bullet and roll out your own? Thank you. P.S.: Right now the app is Rails 2.3, but it will get upgraded to Rail 3 in a year, when most gems/plugins that it depends on will be Rails 3 compatible.

• Embedded Google Earth Plug-Ins no longer working

  I really hope someone can help me. I just noticed that none of my website's Google Earth embedded plug-in's work anymore (in Safari, Chrome or Firefox)  All you can see now is blank space and small text that says "Information is temporarily unavailable." I have no idea why they would no longer be working.  Nothing has changed whatsoever. • Video chat application : Which technology to choose ?

  I have to undertake a project which is to make a video chat application. The video has to be streamed from one location and can be viewed by multiple people spread out over the globe. Performance is really an issue and a delay of more than 2-3 seconds is unacceptable. From what i gather, this can be done in Flex and also in JAVA. • Django form to enter/save html to database

  I'm in my first week of Django development and am working on an admin page that will let me write some quick html using TinyMCE and then save it to the database. I don't need to display this web page on the site or add it to urls.py, etc. The html snippet will be loaded from the database and used in a view function. I've read in "Practical Django Projects" how to integrate TinyMCE, so my question is more concerned with the best approach for the form itself. Specifically: 1. Is there a built-in form like flatpage that works well for this? I only need one field in the form for the html. 2. How do I save the form's text after it's entered? I created a model with a JSONField to save the html in, but I'm not clear on what to do next. Thanks.

• Is it possible to add .NET code (sections) to a WordPress site?

  Our shop is primarily .NET but because of the lack of any really good popular .NET CMS products, we have chosen to use WordPress (and Drupal at times) for our public facing sites. I realize this is highly subjective, but it is the conclusion we came to for our purposes. One could certainly make a case for DotNetNuke and others, but that is another conversation. I would like to know if I can integrate small components into WordPress sites, primarily to do simple forms (logon, lost password, contact us, change user settings, etc...) Can I do this with an iFrame or another method that I am not thinking about?

• Are C++ Templates just Macros in disguise?

  I've been programming in C++ for a few years, and I've used STL quite a bit and have created my own template classes a few times to see how it's done. Now I'm trying to integrate templates deeper into my OO design, and a nagging thought keeps coming back to me: They're just a macros, really... You could implement (rather UGLY) auto_ptrs using #defines, if you really wanted to. This way of thinking about templates helps me understand how my code will actually work, but I feel that I must be missing the point somehow. Macros are meant evil incarnate, yet "template metaprogramming" is all the rage. So, what ARE the real distinctions? and how can templates avoid the dangers that #define leads you into, like Inscrutable compiler errors in places where you don't expect them? Code bloat? Difficulty in tracing code? Setting Debugger Breakpoints?

• Interactive Charts for web application

  We are working on a web based application (implemented in JAVA) on commodity prices and one part of it is interactive charting. I provide a simplified example here. We have a table in Mysql database where we have information on commodity prices in US states and counties. One aspect of the application is to create interactive plots based on user choice. For example, if the user needs to see the price density in Oregon and Linn county then she chooses it from the menu in a webpage and it is rendered on fly with accompanying quantile information in a table. As the user changes state and county these plots and table change on fly.For our computational need we are using R (and use rjava to integrate it to our web application) and I know that if interactivity is not an issue this is a piece of cake in ggplot2, but I am not aware of any interactive version of R graphics framework (like lattice, ggplot2). We are exploring google visualization API but I am not sure we can have the statistical power we need in some of the plots.Please help.

  Hi there. I'm setting up a VC++ project in MS Visual Studio 2008 that'll be used by several people. I wanted to keep things as simple as possible so I've set up Additional Include Directories via the Project properties. I've also set up additional library files via Tools - Options - Projects and Solutions - VC++ Directories. However, my issue is that I really need to set up Additional library PATHs, because I am using an SDK which does inline linking of libraries. I could just tell each one of the participants to manually add the library path to their MSVS2008 environment, but it would be handy if I could integrate the RELATIVE library path in the project itself.

• Working with version control on a Drupal/CMS project

  I was wondering how teams that develop sites using Drupal (or any other CMS) integrate version control, subversion, git or similar, into their workflow. You'd obviously want your custom code and theme files under version control but when you use a CMS such as Drupal a lot of the work consists of configuring modules and settings all of which is stored in the database. So when you are a team of developers, how do you collaborate on a project like this? Dumping the database into a file and putting that file under version control might work I guess, but when the site is live the client is constantly adding content which makes syncing a bit problematic. I'd love to know how others are doing this.

  How to make tags for multiple projects within one revision? • Adding packages from different SVN repositories in a single project

  Hello all I am trying to create a project whose source code comes from 2 different SVN repositories. When I do the svn co pathToRepoA currentDirectory to checkout all the code from the 1st repo, it runs fine. Now, when I try to checkout some specific packages from the 2nd repo by doing svn co pathToRepoB/src/main/java/somespecificpackage currentDirectory/src/main/java/nameOfNewPackage into the same project, it gives me an error that the current directory is already a working directory of a different URL (which is an obvious error). How do I overcome this problem so that I can integrate code (some specific packages) from different repositories into a single project. Thanks!

• SVN : how to change hostname?

  I'd like to sep up SVN repo on local machine. But we already have apache running under localhost. When I use instalator form subversion site with apache option it installs another apache and when I type "localhost" in browser I see this new apache (not the old one). Question is how to run this new apache under other host name. When installing it asks about it, so I set different name, but it still works under localhost (nothing happens). I'd like to have access to svn via URL e.g. "svnrepo" not "localhost". What can I do about it? Which lines of config should be changed (and/or what's more should be changed?) Another way I'm thinking of to solve this problem is to integrate this svn-apache module with mine apache. But still I don't really know how to do it (my apache is 2.2.6)

• ASP.NET jQuery Ajax posting forms

  Hi, I can't seem to get the jQuery.ajax() function posting back any of my asp.net generated form controls. I've put a break point on the server side and there aren't any values. Is there a way around this or do I have to build up a list of what I want sent back? Another question slightly off topic, but it seems that although jQuery is a great JS library, it doesn't seem to integrate too well with .net. Has anyone given up with jQuery to perform server side interaction and just gone with ms ajax implementation?
