• Translating itunes affiliate rss via xslt

  I can't get this working for the life of me. Here is a snippet of the xml I get from an RSS feed from itunes affiliate. If I use <xsl:call-template name="entry"> it will show only one entry and I have to use <xsl:value-of select="//*[local-name(.)='name']"/> to get name but that's a hack. I've used xslt before for xml without namespaces and xml that has proper parent child relationships but not like this RSS feed. Notice entry is not wrapped in entries or anything. Any help is appreciated. I want to use xslt because I want to alter the itunes link to go through my affiliate account - so something automated wouldn't work for me.

• Unit Testing - Am I doing it right?

  Hi everyone, Basically I have been programing for a little while and after finishing my last project can fully understand how much easier it would have been if I'd have done TDD. I guess I'm still not doing it strictly as I am still writing code then writing a test for it, I don't quite get how the test becomes before the code if you don't know what structures and how your storing data etc... but anyway... Kind of hard to explain but basically lets say for example I have a Fruit objects with properties like id, color and cost. (All stored in textfile ignore completely any database logic etc) FruitID FruitName FruitColor FruitCost 1 Apple Red 1.2 2 Apple Green 1.4 3 Apple HalfHalf 1.5 This is all just for example. But lets say I have this is a collection of Fruit (it's a List<Fruit>) objects in this structure. And my logic will say to reorder the fruitids in the collection if a fruit is deleted (this is just how the solution needs to be). E.g. if 1 is deleted, object 2 takes fruit id 1, object 3 takes fruit id2. Now I want to test the code ive written which does the reordering, etc. How can I set this up to do the test? Here is where I've got so far. Basically I have fruitManager class with all the methods, like deletefruit, etc. It has the list usually but Ive changed hte method to test it so that it accepts a list, and the info on the fruit to delete, then returns the list. Unit-testing wise: Am I basically doing this the right way, or have I got the wrong idea? and then I test deleting different valued objects / datasets to ensure method is working properly. • Does enabling SMB2 on a NetApp filer require a cifs restart?

  I would like to enable SMB2 on a FAS 2050 running Data ONTAP 7.3.2 as by default it is disabled. I have discovered that to enable SMB2 the following option must be set: options cifs.smb2.client.enable on Does this require a restart of cifs to take affect or just does it start working magically? Also will this change persist across a reboot?

• How to create persistent static route on Mac OS X 10.6?

  I need to add static route on MAC OS. I found good description here Permanent Static Route Mac Os X 10.4.0 and followed the Roark Holz's (roarkh) solution. Now my problem: sometimes this solution works, sometimes does not. • How to save image to iphone's AddressBook using SDK API ?

  My purpose is to process one image from image library, and save this image directly to one person record (i,e, "Tom" ), which is selected from AddressBook, I can see the new image replace Tom's previous image, but I can not save it to AddressBook. • Unable to remove file using 'rm'

  Hi all, In one of our severs (IBM AIX), we have a file in path /data/1002/ which we were not able to remove or delete using the 'rm' command. The error message we got is "rm: A1208001.002: A file or directory in the path name does not exist." With the "-f" option, no error message was displayed, but the file is still there. This file has a '0' byte size and when i use the command "touch A120001.002", i see two files with the same file name in that directory. The directory listing is as below: $ ls -l total 56 -rwxrwxrwx 1 oracle dba 0 Feb 09 11:57 S1208001.002 drwxrwxrwx 4 nobody dba 24576 Feb 09 13:36 backup How do I remove this bogus fie? Thanks.

  If I have the following master-detail relationship: owner_tbl auto_tbl --------- -------- owner --- owner auto year And I have the following table data: owner_tbl auto_tbl --------- -------- john john, corvette, 1968 john, prius, 2008 james james, f-150, 2004 james, cadillac, 2002 james, accord, 2009 jeff jeff, tesla, 2010 jeff, hyundai, 1996 Now, I want to perform a query that returns the following result: john, corvette, 1968 jeff, hyundai, 1996 james, cadillac, 2002 The query should join the two tables, and sort all the records on the "year" field, but only return the first detail record for each master record. I know how to join the tables and sort on the "year" field, but it's not clear how (or if) I might be able to only retrieve the first joined record for each owner. Three related questions: Can I perform this kind of query using LINQ-to-SQL? Can I perform the query using T-SQL? Would it be best to just create a stored procedure for the query given its likely complexity?

• Macbook Pro 2010 Ethernet Jumbo Frame(9k MTU) Support?

  Has anyone been able to use jumbo frame support on their 2010 Macbook Pros? This is kind of negative news here, but I am seeing many reports that this is not available anymore due to Apple's choice of network card in the new machines. I cannot set my MTU speed over 1500 on my new 2010 MBP i7, but my old early 2008 MBP (Core2) has the 9000 MTU setting for use. Everything I have is setup to use jumbo frames and I thought apple kept that feature in their "pro" lineup. It sounds like the Mac Pro still has it. Did they decide to use a chipset that doesn't support it? I am trying to pinpoint some solid chipset numbers and the feature support. Maybe they just need to update the drivers? Is there some more official information about this feature? This might seem minor, but this is really frustrating if apple removed this feature from their pro laptop line. • c# ListView unable to check a checkbox! Strange problem.

  This is a strange problem, I've not added much code as I don't know were to start. I have a listview control in virtual mode, if I filter the listview to show me all people called John, I then see 3 users called John, I then cancel the filter setting all values to null and return all data to the listview, I now have several hundred items in the list but I can only see 30 on screen unless I scroll down the listview. I then use the code below to check a checkbox in each row, all get checked apart from the 3 Johns but if I can see 1 of the 3 Johns in listview without scrolling and then run the code below the visible John is checked. for (int i = 0; i < this._items.Count; i++) { this._items[i].Checked = true; } I have checked the status of the checkbox just before it is checked in the above code and if John is visible then the checkbox believes it is unchecked (false), if it is not visible it belives it is checked (true). So having one visible John on screen the checkbox looks unchecked and running a test proves it is unchecked, for the two Johns I can't see they believe they are checked but if I scroll down so I can see them they aren't. Any ideas? Thanks

  In sample code, I have seen this: typedef enum Ename { Bob, Mary, John} EmployeeName; and this: typedef enum {Bob, Mary, John} EmployeeName; and this: typedef enum {Bob, Mary, John}; but what compiled successfully for me was this: enum {Bob, Mary, John}; I put that line in a .h file above the @interface line, and then when I #import that .h file into a different class's .m file, methods there can see the enum. So, when are the other variants needed? If I could name the enum something like EmployeeNames, and then, when I type "EmployeeNames" followed by a ".", it would be nice if a list pops up showing what the enum choices are.

• USB hard drive doesn't graceful power off after eject on Windows 7

  I have a couple of Seagate FreeAgent Go external USB hard drives and would like them to gracefully power off after ejecting in Windows 7. With Windows XP a few seconds after they are ejected they gracefully power off. When ejecting them on Windows 7 they just stay on and have to be physically disconnected before they lose power. I have checked the hard drive removal policy and it is set to quick removal. I have also looked in the Seagate forums but I couldn't find any info on this so I thought I'd ask the SuperUser community on any ideas why the difference and how to get the same behaviour in Windows 7 as in XP? Update: I am finding that this also happens with USB thumb drives as well. My current theory is that there were changes to the driver model with Vista/Win 7 that haven't been reflected in the device drivers yet. So things that worked under XP don't under Win7 as the drivers haven't been updated for the new model. Does that sound right?

  Assuming the file.txt having just one sentence per line as follows:- John Depp is a great guy. He is very inteligent. He can do anything. Come and meet John Depp. The perl code is as follows:- open ( FILE, "file.txt" ) || die "can't open file!"; @lines = <FILE>; close (FILE); $string = "John Depp"; foreach $line (@lines) { if ($line =~ $string) { print "$line"; } } The output is going to be first and fourth line. I want to make it working for the file having random line breaks rather than one English sentence per line. I mean it should also work for the following:- John Depp is a great guy. He is very inteligent. He can do anything. Come and meet John Depp. The output should be first and fourth sentence. Any ideas please?
