  I've created a database and a user, and allowed access via the following: create user 'someuser'@'%' identified by 'password'; grant all privileges on somedb.* to 'someuser' with grant option; however, when I try to connect to MySQL I get the following error: $ mysql -u someuser -p > Enter Password: > ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'someuser'@'localhost' (using password: YES) If "%" is the wildcard, then wouldn't it also enable localhost?

  I have few Drupal 6 websites on webhosting, which causes this strange problem: some tables, especially Cache and Watchdog, tend to overhead, when overhead is bigger than some amount of kB, MySQL server is refusing connection to given Drupal database or connection is broken during query execution, Optimizing table (just overheaded rows) in phpMyAdmin is putting all back to normal. But - until database is optimized, site is showing just MySQL errors, which is ugly... Where is a problem? Thank you for any hints I could pass back to the hosting admins!

  I am continuously receiving below error in event viewer... from which it stop mysql service... This is the following error, Faulting application mysqld-nt.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module mysqld-nt.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0022401c. When I checked MySQL error log file, there is no ERROR or WARNING message regarding crash, it is showing normal shutdown. Can any help me out of this.

  I am working on an Asset Database problem. I receive $id from $_GET["id"]; I then query the database and display the results. This works if my id is an integer like "93650" but if it has other characters like "wci1001", it displays this MySQL error: Unknown column 'text' in 'where clause' All fields in tables are of type: VARCHAR(50) What would I need to do to be able to use this query to search by id that includes other characters? In this case, I'm reading connection string from web.config, too. This can be only applied to GoDaddy hosting, but on local machine I don't have this kind of problems. • Extremely slow insert from Delphi to Remote MySQL Database

  Having a major hair-pulling issue with extremely slow inserts from Delphi 2010 to a remote MySQL 5.09 server. So far, I have tried: ADO using MySQL ODBC Driver Zeoslib v7 Alpha I have used batching and direct insert with ADO (using table access), and with Zeos I have used SQL insertion with a Query, then used Table direct mode and also cached updates Table mode using applyupdates and commit. Both technologies I have tried with compression on and off. So far I have seen a pretty much the same across the board 7.5 records per second!!! Now, I would from this point assume that the remote server is just slow, but the MySQL Workbench is amazingly fast, and the Migration toolkit managed the initial migration very quickly (to be honest, I don't recall how quickly - which kind of means that it was quick) I'm just about to try the MyDAC components as we already use SDAC (wish there was a multi-buy discount or that we'd chosen UniDAC instead now!) Any ideas?

So I found, that the application is indeed vulnerable to injections because I can alter some of the insert statements.   Hi-- I've found a few answers for this using mySQL alone, but I was hoping someone could show me a way to get the ID of the last inserted or updated row of a mysql DB when using PHP to handle the inserts/updates. Currently I have something like this, where column3 is a unique key, and there's also an id column that's an autoincremented primary key: $query ="INSERT INTO TABLE (column1, column2, column3) VALUES (value1, value2, value3) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE SET column1=value1, column2=value2, column3=value3"; mysql_query($query); $my_id = mysql_insert_id(); $my_id is correct on INSERT, but incorrect when it's updating a row (ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE). I have seen several posts with people advising that you use something like INSERT INTO table (a) VALUES (0) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE id=LAST_INSERT_ID(id) to get a valid ID value when the ON DUPLICATE KEY is invoked-- but will this return that valid ID to the PHP "mysql_insert_id()" function?   On insert I am catching the unique constraint mysql_errno() 1062. This works fine but I want to find the existing row to re-instate or modify it. Is there are method to obtain the row id on insert fail? I tried mysql_insert_id() but realised that would only return the row I'm inserting (or failed to insert) therefore, I get 0. Is there no option but to issue another mysql_query and simply perform a select on the duplicate value? I just want to make sure there is no better, quicker, more economical way to do this.

  Hey guys quick question, I currently have an insert statement $query= "INSERT into new_mail VALUES ('$to1', '0')"; where fields are username, and message_number Currently what I would do to check if the entry exists, is do a select query then check the number of rows with mysql_num_rows (php). If rows==1 then I get the current message_number and set it equal to $row['message_number']++1. Then I update that entry with another query. Is there an easier way to do all this in just mysql with just one query (check if exists, if not insert, if so update message_number, increase by 1)?

The table is probably corrupted FATAL ERROR: Upgrade failed I checked the mysql.proc table, and it's comment column was slightly different from my backup. -- My backup says: `comment` char(64) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL DEFAULT '', -- But it were: `comment` text CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL, So, I restored my mysql database backup, and now they all match, but mysql_upgrade still trigger the same errors. I also tried do check and repair the mysql.proc table, but got no success.

• Why does Mysql Xampp restart only when i run the mysqld.exe file manually?

  I am using mysql-xampp v3.0.2 version. while restarting the mysql server first it show me the running status and after 2or3s it stops running automatically.
