• Bad interpreter: No such file or directory

  I'm working through Michael Hartl's tutorial trying to learn Rails for the first time, and I've run into some issues. I recently reinstalled the whole Rails Installer because I had apparently inadvertently deleted some important files. Now, when I try running a test I get the following error: sh.exe": /c/Program Files (x86)/ruby-1.9.3/bin/bundle: "c:/Program: bad interpre ter: No such file or directory I checked my PATH and attempted to use the solution outlined here: Bundle command not found. Bad Interpreter ..but putting quotation marks around "C:\Program Files (x86)\ruby-1.9.3\bin" didn't do anything for me. I ran $ rails -v and got the following output: $ rails -v ?[31mCould not find multi_json-1.3.6 in any of the sources?[0m ?[33mRun `bundle install` to install missing gems.?[0m So then I tried running $bundle install and got the following issue again: Tom@TOM-PC /c/sample_app (updating-users) $ bundle install sh.exe": /c/Program Files (x86)/ruby-1.9.3/bin/bundle: "c:/Program: bad interpre ter: No such file or directory I'd really appreciate any help -- I've spent 5+ hours today trying to get back on track and am still at a loss. • project organization between x86 and x64

  I have a mixed language solution in VS2008. I would like to structure the bin such that I have bin\x86\Release and bin\x64\Release among the other options. I can do something like this if I have all C# or all C++, but as the platform names don't overlap (x86 vs. Win32) between C++ and C#, I can't seem to do this with the macros (and have an easy solution). I've tried to add a new platform and it won't let me. Is there an easy way to do this?

• Testing installation package in OpenSolaris

  Testing my "configure - make - make install" installation package on OpenSolaris, I found that all required files are placed to expected locations. usr/local/bin contains myprogram file. If I type in command line: /usr/local/bin/myprogram, it is working. However, typing "myprogram" without path does not work. Is /usr/local/bin directory included in OpenSolaris executable path? If not, why autoconfig tools place my executable to this directory? Installation package is created in Ubuntu.

• How to uninstall Ruby from /usr/local?

  Everything was working fine , until we decided to upgrade ruby to 1.8.7 from 1.8.6, and thats when all hell broke loose. When we compiled Ruby 1.8.7 from source it got installed into /usr/local/bin and Ruby 1.8.6 stayed in /usr/bin. Currently, we've uninstalled ruby 1.8.6 and by some stroke we deleted the ruby 1.8.7 files from /usr/local. when we try "which ruby" it points to /usr/local. If anybody could help us out what we need to do get back on track , we would be very grateful.and also any idea how we can uninstall ruby from /usr/local. we tried yum remove ruby , which removed ruby from /usr/bin.Thanks and Cheers !

• In Coldfusion, how do I init a component that is located above the current path folder?

  If I have a folder structure that looks like this: / /bin/myComponent.cfc /reports/index.cfm How do I initiate myComponent.cfc from index.cfm? myService = createObject("component", "bin.myComponent"); Using the dot syntax, I know how to go to deeper folders, but how to do I go up a folder, and down into the other folder? Using slash syntax it would be something like this: ../bin/myComponent.cfc But createObject() doesn't work that way. I'd like to keep a relative path so that I can move this folder to another server without breaking the paths. Ideas? Thanks!

• Showing renames in hg status?

  I know that Mercurial can track renames of files, but how do I get it to show me renames instead of adds/removes when I do hg status? For instance, instead of: A bin/extract-csv-column.pl A bin/find-mirna-binding.pl A bin/xls2csv-separate-sheets.pl A lib/Text/CSV/Euclid.pm R src/extract-csv-column.pl R src/find-mirna-binding.pl R src/modules/Text/CSV/Euclid.pm R src/xls2csv-separate-sheets.pl I want some indication that four files have been moved. I think I read somewhere that the output is like this to preserve backward-compatibility with something-or-other, but I'm not worried about that.

• app_offline not being respected?

  I'm doing some tests with deploying an application using the app_offline.htm functionality in asp.net. I've found that if I have a working application, and I put an app_offline.htm file in the root, and then rename the \bin folder, my app_offline.htm file does not get displayed. If I rename the bin folder back to "bin", my app_offline.htm file gets displayed as expected. I had assumed/thought that the presence of app_offline would supersede anything else that happens...am I mistaken? This is on Windows 7/IIS 7.5.

• vectorized approach to binning with numpy/scipy in Python

  I am binning a 2d array (x by y) in Python into the bins of its x value (given in "bins"), using np.digitize: elements_to_bins = digitize(vals, bins) where "vals" is a 2d array, i.e.: vals = array([[1, v1], [2, v2], ...]). elements_to_bins just says what bin each element falls into. What I then want to do is get a list whose length is the number of bins in "bins", and each element returns the y-dimension of "vals" that falls into that bin. I do it this way right now: points_by_bins = [] for curr_bin in range(min(elements_to_bins), max(elements_to_bins) + 1): curr_indx = where(elements_to_bins == curr_bin)[0] curr_bin_vals = vals[:, curr_indx] points_by_bins.append(curr_bin_vals) is there a more elegant/simpler way to do this? All I need is a list of of lists of the y-values that fall into each bin. thanks.

  Hi Folks, i have got a php-script foo.php #!/usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q <?php echo 'hello'; // & do some stuff ?> I call this script not wrapped by a sh-script but using it directly in a cron job. To get rid of it's output i normally would just create a sh-file which calls /usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q foo.php > /dev/null 2 > /dev/null now i'd like to do this in the interpreter-declaration of the php file it self... so i am looking for the syntax for: #!/usr/bin/php -args [file's content] > /redirect 2 > /redirect i have kind of a hard time googleing for it... so if anybody could point me into the right direction i would really appreciate it! • How to set the default page for a .CHM file in HTML Help Workshop?

  When I open the help (.chm) application, I could see table of contents. By default, the first entry in the file is selected, however I couldn't see the corresponding page data. Instead, I see "This program cannot display the web page" (the default error message that comes in IE7).The page is displayed only when I click on any of the contents on the left side. Is there a way of showing the page by default without clicking on the entry? The following code is the .hhp file. • javac - differences between classpath and sourcepath options

  Hi, I read the Sun documentation and a lot of Q/A on SO but I'm still a little bit confuse regarding the differences between the javac options -cp and -sourcepath. Let say I have this directory structure: c:\Java\project1\src (where the .java source files are) c:\Java\project1\bin (where the .class will be or are already) The class source MainClass.java is in a package "com.mypackage" and the directory structure is ok in src. I'm in the project1 directory. I run c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -sourcepath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java or c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -classpath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java and I obtain the same result. In verbose mode, the search path for source files is src in both cases. If anybody could help me figure out the specifics of these options, it would be great. Thank you.

• Flex Debugger wont launch - Only on particular project.

  When trying to launch Flex debaugger on my project, it does not launch and I get an error instead. Every other project in different workspaces launches just fine. This is the only one giving me an issue. Here is the error: Process terminated without establishing connection to debugger. I assume that this is the reason for the latter error that I don't have a database configuration. • Third-party dll's in a website layout

  I have a solution with several projects and one website. The website uses some third-party dll's. I have to place the dll's in the bin folder under the website. This is the same bin where the dll's from the other projects get auto-loaded. Is there a way I can place the third-party dll's in a separate folder? If I 'Add Reference' to the dll when it is in a separate folder, VS always adds it to the GAC. If the separate folder is outside of the website layout, 'Add Reference' never works. My goal is have the bin folder only for auto-updated dll's, and a separate folder for third-party dll's. [This method works fine for the projects; just the website has issues]

I'll also add that the ssi tag gets replaced with nothing.

• Rails "Missing these required gems" error for installed gems

  I know this has been asked multiple times before, but I've tried those things and still am not having any luck. For the mechanize gem, I keep getting the "Missing these required gems" error when I run db:migrate on my production server. Here's the full error: Missing these required gems: mechanize You're running: ruby 1.8.6.111 at /usr/bin/ruby1.8 rubygems 1.3.5 at /home/user/.gem/ruby/1.8, /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8 Output of which ruby is /usr/bin/ruby Output of which gem is /usr/bin/gem When I run gem list mechanize (1.0.0) is definitely in the list. What am I doing wrong here?

So i need to use that in my app.config I tried to give the same value as, <add key="Path_SqlDump" value="\"C:\\MySQL\\MySQL Server 5.0\\bin\\mysqldump\""></add> But the above gives me error, because of the quotes. All i need is, i should be able to assign "\"C:\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\mysqldump\"" to a string. HOW ?

• WPF application in obj directory doesn't work.

  When I build my WPF application the exe that ends up in the bin directory works just fine, but the one in the obj directory does not. When I Debug the exe from the obj directory I get the following exception: TypeInitializationException was unhandled: The type initializer for 'MyProject.App' threw an exception. So basically I'm wondering why the obj exe doesn't work while the bin one does (I was under the assumption that the obj exe was just copied to the bin) and how to fix it. The reason that I even care is because I'm using Wix to create a MSI for my application and I have a Votive project setup that uses var.MyProject.TargetPath which points to the exe in the obj directory.

I mean shouldnt the depency query read from the procedure and not from the database ? If not is there a query that reads from the procedure and not from database ? Edit ok I will make it clear : my question USER_DEPENDENCIES read from the procedure or the database ? My second question does the recycle bin always shows ? I mean is there times where the result of the recylebin disapear ?

• FastCGI C++ program and missing SCRIPT_NAME

  Hi guys, i'm studying the fastcgi developement kit because i'm writing a new scripting language and i'd like to write a fastcgi version of the interpreter to run scripts as webpages. I'm using this example from the sdk, located at /srv/http/bin/echocpp So, in my httpd.conf file, i have the following lines : FastCgiServer /srv/http/bin/echocpp -idle-timeout 120 -processes 4 ScriptAlias / /srv/http/bin/echocpp/ ... ... AddHandler fastcgi-script hy Where 'hy' is the extensions of my scripts. Then, when i try browse, for instance http://localhost/~evilsocket/prime.hy I see all the environment variables as expected from the echo-cpp.cpp programm, except for the SCRIPT_NAME that is empty. Is there something i'm missing out of this? How am i supposed to obtain the full path of the script to run it inside my fastcgi version of the interpreter? Thanks

• Class-Dump Installation

  So this may sound like a really stupid question and I HAVE looked at the how-to from the parent website, but no matter what I do, I cannot get this program to even start to install... I tried entering: cd /opt/local/bin/portslocation/dports/class-dump which returned a "this file/director doesnt exist" error, so i tried to get to it folder by folder. when i got all the way to: cd /opt/local/bin/ i cannot go any further. when i check the contents of the bin directory, the only files i can find are (and i cannot access these apparently either): "daemondo port portf portindex portmirror" i have tried doing this on 2 computers so far to no avail, macports is installed on both like the website said and i am having trouble finding any support for it. please and thank you!!

• Build Event Macros for Other Projects in the Solution

  Is it possible to reference other projects' properties via a macro within a build event? For example: "Tool1" outputs to directory ..\..\bin\Release "Component1" uses "Tool1" in its post-buildevent To get to "Tool1", "Component1"'s project must do something like $(SolutionDir)bin\Release This requires that Tool1 always output to ..\..\bin\Release. If this is changed this breaks the other project. I know there is no indication to this within the macro list but is there a way to reference another project? Maybe like $(OtherProject.TargetDir)... I know WIX has a similar syntax [$(var.OtherProject.TargetDir)] but I think that may be a different mechanism.
