[duplicate] 4 answers I've been programming in JS since some time, but I have never came upon a need of using immediate functions, for example: (function(){ console.log('hello, I am an immediate function'); }()) What would be the difference if I just wrote: console.log('hello, I am an immediate function'); ? I don't have any access to this function anyway (it is not assigned anywhere). I think (but I'm not sure) that I can implement everything without immediate functions - so why do people use it?

  My Windows Server 2008 server hosts an ASP.net application that uses impersonation. The application works as long as the user being impersonated remains logged on to the server. However, when the user logs off, clients can no longer view the web pages. They get a cryptic error instead. How can I configure the server to work without the impersonated user remaining logged on? The result should be as follows: Whenever any VoIP application (e.g. Skype,...) will create an AudioRecord, the captured audio will be first filtered using my daemon application before it reaches Skype. Is this doable ? For example can I use an AudioSessionID=0 to attach my filter to all the input channels ?

  I have an application that is supposed to read from the Registry and when executing a console application my registry access works perfectly. However when I move it over to a test this returns null: var masterKey = Registry.LocalMachine.OpenSubKey("path_to_my_key"); So my question is: Does Visual Studio run Tests with a less privileged process? I tested to see what user this gave me: var x = WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name; and it gives me the same as in the console application. So I am a bit confused here.

  Hello! Think there might be something about this MVP approach I have completely misunderstood. Currently I am struggling to apply the MVP pattern to the part of my application consisting of a StackLayoutPanel (accordion). To me it seems natural to have a presenter and a view per stack... but how do I allow the different presenters to react when the user switch the state of the stack panel? If someone could sketch an application of the MVP pattern in the case of an accordion application I would be really, really grateful!   I am new to IntelliJ (and Stackoverflow) and fairly new to Java,In my application I am using code from jars that in IntelliJ I added as "External Libraries". I also have the source code for those jars, but I rather not compile it (they are huge and complex). Now while debugging my application I would like to step into the library code that is compiled into those jars. How can I set up IntelliJ to do that? Is there another way other that attaching the entire jar library source code to my application code?

• Best way to access a sqlite database file in a web service.

  First question from me on stack overflow. I have created a java web application containing a web service using netbeans (I hope a web application were the correct choice). I use the web application as is with no extra frameworks. This web service use a sqlite JDBC driver for accessing a sqlite database file. My problem is that the file path end up incorrect when I try to form the JDBC connection string. Also, the working directory is different when deploying and when running JUnit tests. I read somewhere about including the file as a resource, but examples of this were nowhere to be seen. In any case, what is the best way to open the sqlite database, both when the web service is deployed and when I test it "localy"? I don't know much about web services, I just need it to work, so please, help me with the technicalities.

I can import those DLLs in my new C# project but there is no documentation on how to use them. Yes, this is labeled as an "SDK", but does not contain examples or documentation. Any pointers on how I should procceed? I thought about creating stubs assemblies and monitor their usage by the original application but this involves a lot of code, maybe a tool could do it for me?

  I need the ability to load and start a GWT App at any time in an Echo2 environment. My first approach was to load and execute the nocache.js in a Client-Server sync using var script = document.createElement("script"); script.setAttribute("src",javascriptURI); script.setAttribute("type","text/javascript"); document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(script); This call basically works, but when the script is executed it operates on an EMPTY document instead of the current document of the Echo2 application. Has the script to be somehow initialized first or is there any event required? The GWT application/script works fine if it's included in the start-up HTML of the application, so I assume the GWT App to be correct. The original standalone HTML of the GWT App has the HTML script tag in the body as well.

  I am making one application where user will print invoices which I am displaying using Crystal Report. The user showed me his current application made using ForPro. In that application, under Printer Options form, one can see all the printers currently installed and the user could select default printer. When the invoice is made, the user presses the print button, then there is one dialog asking for no. of copies. When it's entered, the invoice gets printed directly, without any Print Dialog Box. If the user wants to change the printer again he/she will change it in the Printer Option form. I want to know if similar thing is possible in Crystal Report and need guidance on how to approach for it.

After the program is done i would like to get my answers in form of a graph or picture that would give some certain information if i click on a certain area. i have only written console apllications in c++ before and don't really have a clue where to start with the graphic part of it all. Can I write the first part of the program in console mode and some how run it under the WIN32 later? for ex what will happen to the cout<<"foo"; commands? Is there a simpler approach to do some very basic graphic programming.

  I have a rectange that I've created and set its individual properties like so var aRect:Rect = new Rect(); aRect.x = 10; aRect.y = 10; aRect.width = "15%"; aRect.height = "15%"; addChild(aRect); I have 2 problems that the compiler seems to be choking on. The first is that the compiler chokes on 15% and "15%", with or without the quotes, neither works. The second is that adding the rectangle doesn't work. I tried all the following, but nothing works. addChild(aRect); Application.addChild(aRect); Application.application.addChild(aRect); stage.addChild(aRect); What's the deal, I thought actionscript would be nicer than mxml.

  I'm writing a function that basically waits for the user to hit "enter" and then does something. What I've found that works when testing is the below: #include <stdio.h> int main() { int x = getc(stdin); if (x == '\n') { printf("carriage return"); printf("\n"); } else { printf("missed it"); printf("\n"); } } The question I have, and what I tried at first was to do: "if (x == '\r')" but in testing, the program didn't catch me hitting enter. The '\n' seems to correspond to me hitting enter from the console. Can someone explain the difference? Also, to verify, writing it as "if... == "\n"" would mean the character string literal? Ie the user would literally have to enter "\n" from the console, correct? Thanks!

I don't understand this. It also doesn't let me use any other attributes like data[0].addresse, which returns undefined aswell. Thanks for help.

• Export from a standalone database to an embedded database.

  I have a two-part application, where there is a central database that is edited, and then at certain times, the data is released and distributed as its own application. I would like to use a standalone database for the central database (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and then have a reliable export to an embedded database (probably SQLite) for distribution. What tools/processes are available for such an export, or is it a practice to be avoided? EDIT: A couple of additional pieces of information. The distributed application should be able to run without having to connect to another server (ex: your spellchecker still works even you don't have internet), and I don't want to install a full DB server for read-only access to the data.
