• Math operations in nHibernate Criteria Query

  Dear All, I am having troubles with a nHibernate query. I have a db which stores vehicle info, and the user is able to search the db by make, model, type and production dates. Make, model & type search is fine, works a treat, it is the productions dates I am having issues with. So here goes... The dates are stored as ints (StartMonth, StartYear, FinishMonth, FinishYear), when the end-user selects a date it is passed to the query as an int eg 2010006 (2010 * 100 + 6). below is part of the query I am using, FYI I am using Lambda Extensions. if (_searchCriteria.ProductionStart > 0) { query.Add<Engine>(e => ((e.StartYear * 100) + e.StartMonth) >= _searchCriteria.ProductionStart); } if (_searchCriteria.ProductionEnd > 0) { query.Add<Engine>(e => ((e.FinishYear * 100) + e.FinishMonth) <= _searchCriteria.ProductionEnd); } But when the query runs I get the following message, Could not determine member from ((e.StartYear * 100) + e.StartMonth) Any help would be great, Regards Rich

• OCS presence in SharePoint AJAX-based web part

  I'm currently implementing AJAX-based web part which displays search result. This search result has user names and opposite to each name I'm rendering the OCS presence indicator. This indicator works fine in IE6 but I can't get it to work in IE7/8. Basically the problem in IE7/8 is that OCS is rendered but when you mouse over it nothing is shown. If you try to scroll page down then mouse over the OCS icon you will see the OCS actions menu in the bottom of the page instead of seeing it on the opposite to the user name. My AJAX-based web part uses jQuery post method to make a request to the server and receives json which is then rendered to the div. • Core Location Best Placement and User Interruption

  Hi All, My application uses Core Location in three different views. It's working perfectly. In my first view, I subclass the CLLocationManager and use protocol methods for location updates to my calling class. Before I install the framework and code in my other classes, I was wondering: Is the protocol method the best way? What happens to the Core Location execution if the user exits the view or quits the app while it's trying to get a location fix? Is the location task terminated with the GPS system turned off immediately? If the user simply switches to another view, is it OK to assume that I can start Core Location in the next view without regard to the last? Where should the first update location call be placed. Should the application delegate instantiate the CLLocation Manager class using protocol so that it can update any of the views chosen or should each class instantiate the manager. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Generating new sources via Maven plugin after compile phase

  I have a Maven project within which I need execute two code generation steps. One generates some Java types, then the second depends on those Java types to generate some more code. Is there a way to have both of these steps happening during my build? At the moment my steps are: execute first code generation plugin (during generate-sources) add directory of generated types to build path execute second code generation plugin (during compile) However my problem is that anything generated by the second code generation plugin will not be compiled (because the compile phase has finished). If I attach the second code generation plugin to an earlier phase, it fails because it needs the classes from the first code generation plugin to be present on the classpath. I know I could split this into two modules with one dependent on the other, but I was wondering if this could be achieved in one pom. It seems like a need a way to invoke compile again after the normal compile phase is complete. Any ideas?

So: how do you define "Backtracking" GRAPH-theoretically? what is "backtracking" in BFS and DFS?

• phantom error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix"

  The error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix" shows up on my main layout: main.xml when I first open Eclipse. To make the error go away, all I have to do is make a modification to the file, then undo it, then hit save (have to make a change in order to be able to save file and thus trigger the new syntax check). My environment is: Fedora Eclipse Platform Version: 3.4.2 Based on build id: 20090211-1700 My target is Android API level 5. The first time I saw the error I spent a long time trying to track down "the problem" but later realized there isn't really a problem, it's just a phantom error. • avaudioplayer interferes with mpmovieplayer on ipad

  my app plays video and audio. however, i have a problem where once i play an audio file using avaudioplayer, the video refuses to play. when i play the video first, everything is fine. but if the audio is played first, any time i try to play the video it simply pops up the video player but will not play the actual video (you can use the scroller to go to any point in the video, but no playback will happen). this issue does not come up on the iphone, nor on the ipad simulator. clearly there is some resource conflict here, probably related to the audio, and i'd welcome some input on how to address it.

• Thinking sphinx: Problems with polymorphic associations

  Hello, I recently switched from ultrasphinx to thinking_sphinx for full-text search. I am trying to figure out how to index fields of polymorphic associations. I found some information but I still have some problems, although it seems to be easy. Here is my setup: class Info < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :mappable, :polymorphic => true define_index indexes mappable_type indexes mappable(:name), :as => :mappable_name end class A < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :infos, :as => :mappable end class B < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :infos, :as => :mappable end Amongst others, I want to do a search in the name column of A and B (both classes have this column), so I added the field to my index. When I do rake thinking_sphinx:index I get the following error: Generating Configuration to .../config/development.sphinx.conf rake aborted! undefined method `connection' for Object:Class .../.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/thinking-sphinx-1.3.16/lib/thinking_sphinx/ association.rb:149:in `casted_options' Any idea? • Find new messages added to an imap mailbox since I last checked with python libimap2?

  I am trying to write a program that monitors an IMAP mailbox and automatically copies every new incoming message into an "Archive" folder. I'm using imaplib2 which implements the IDLE command. M.idle() print "back from idle" M.close() M.logout() It prints the mailboxes properly and runs process() when the first change happens to the mailbox. But the response from recent() doesn't make sense to me, and after the first message I never get any other notifications. Anyone know how to do this?

The first example that comes to mind, working as a sysadmin, is email accounts and their domains: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] ... What URL scheme would you suggest? At first I'd try: /domain/[domainname] /domain/[domainname]/account/[accountname] is that in line with RESTful principles? or should I go with something like: /domain/[domainname] /account/[account@domainname]/ or anything else?

Doing my first SL4 MVVM RIA based application and i ran into the following situation: updating a record (EF4,NO-POCOS!!) in the SL-client seems to take place, but values in the dbms are unchanged. Debugging with Fiddler the message on save is (amongst others): EntityActions.nil? b9http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays^HasMemberChanges?^Id?^ Operation?Update I assume that this says only: hey! the dbms should do an update on this record, AND nothing more! Is that right?!   I'm trying to find out how I can do an "early return" in a scheme procedure without using a top-level if or cond like construct. (define (win b) (let* ((test (first (first b))) (result (every (lambda (i) (= (list-ref (list-ref b i) i) test)) (enumerate (length b))))) (when (and (not (= test 0)) result) test)) 0) For example, in the code above, I want win to return test if the when condition is met, otherwise return 0. However, what happens is that the procedure will always return 0, regardless of the result of the when condition. The reason I am structuring my code this way is because in this procedure I need to do numerous complex checks (multiple blocks similar to the let* in the example) and putting everything in a big cond would be very unwieldy.

• HttpModule Init method is called several times - why?

  I was creating a http module and while debugging I noticed something which at first (at least) seemed like weird behaviour. When i set a breakpoint in the init method of the httpmodule i can see that the http module init method is being called several times even though i have only started up the website for debugging and made one single request (sometimes it is hit only 1 time, other times as many as 10 times). I know that I should expect several instances of the HttpApplication to be running and for each the http modules will be created, but when i request a single page it should be handled by a single http application object and therefore only fire the events associated once, but still it fires the events several times for each request which makes no sense - other than it must have been added several times within that httpApplication - which means it is the same httpmodule init method which is being called every time and not a new http application being created each time it hits my break point (see my code example at the bottom etc.). What could be going wrong here ? is it because i am debugging and set a breakpoint in the http module? It have noticed that it seems that if i startup the website for debugging and quickly step over the breakpoint in the httpmodule it will only hit the init method once and the same goes for the eventhandler. If I instead let it hang at the breakpoint for a few seconds the init method is being called several times (seems like it depends on how long time i wait before stepping over the breakpoint). Maybe this could be some build in feature to make sure that the httpmodule is initialised and the http application can serve requests , but it also seems like something that could have catastrophic consequences. This could seem logical, as it might be trying to finish the request and since i have set the break point it thinks something have gone wrong and try to call the init method again ? soo it can handle the request ? But is this what is happening and is everything fine (i am just guessing), or is it a real problem ? What i am specially concerned about is that if something makes it hang on the "production/live" server for a few seconds a lot of event handlers are added through the init and therefore each request to the page suddenly fires the eventhandler several times. This behaviour could quickly bring any site down. I have looked at the "original" .net code used for the httpmodules for formsauthentication and the rolemanagermodule etc but my code isnt any different that those modules uses. My code looks like this. public void Init(HttpApplication app) { if (CommunityAuthenticationIntegration.IsEnabled) { FormsAuthenticationModule formsAuthModule = (FormsAuthenticationModule) app.Modules["FormsAuthentication"]; formsAuthModule.Authenticate += new FormsAuthenticationEventHandler(this.OnAuthenticate); } } here is an example how it is done in the RoleManagerModule from the .NET framework public void Init(HttpApplication app) { if (Roles.Enabled) { app.PostAuthenticateRequest += new EventHandler(this.OnEnter); app.EndRequest += new EventHandler(this.OnLeave); } } Do anyone know what is going on? (i just hope someone out there can tell me why this is happening and assure me that everything is perfectly fine) :) UPDATE: I have tried to narrow down the problem and so far i have found that the Init method being called is always on a new object of my http module (contary to what i thought before). I seems that for the first request (when starting up the site) all of the HttpApplication objects being created and its modules are all trying to serve the first request and therefore all hit the eventhandler that is being added. I cant really figure out why this is happening. If i request another page all the HttpApplication's created (and their moduless) will again try to serve the request causing it to hit the eventhandler multiple times. But it also seems that if i then jump back to the first page (or another one) only one HttpApplication will start to take care of the request and everything is as expected - as long as i dont let it hang at a break point. If i let it hang at a breakpoint it begins to create new HttpApplication's objects and starts adding HttpApplications (more than 1) to serve/handle the request (which is already in process of being served by the HttpApplication which is currently stopped at the breakpoint). I guess or hope that it might be some intelligent "behind the scenes" way of helping to distribute and handle load and / or errors. But I have no clue. I hope some out there can assure me that it is perfectly fine and how it is supposed to be?

I initially had two tables, ADSAREAS & CATEGORIES. I started receiving this error when I removed CATEGORIES table. • CSS Attribute Content Selector multiple declarations

  I have this in my CSS: div#headwrap ul li a[href*="dev"] {background: #034769}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="music"] {background: #A61300}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="opinion"] {background: #b2d81e}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="work"] {background: #ffc340}; So, my expected behavior is that where a link (a) within a list item (li) inside a unordered list (ul) inside a div with id "headwrap" has an href that contains "dev", the link will have a background color of #034769. If the link has an href that contains "music" it will have a background color of #A61300, and so on. However, what I am seeing is that the rule is only correctly applied to "dev". If I reorder the CSS declarations (putting music first, for instance), it only gets applied to "music". I'm testing in Firefox and Chrome, both are doing the same thing. Only the first one is applied. Anyone have any ideas why?

• Security behaviour in Adobe Air

  Hi everyone! I am trying to load external SWFs in my Adobe AIR App. The loaded SWF is trying to access an URL to retrieve some informations via XML. When starting the SWF by itself it works fine. When loading the SWF from the File.applicationStorageDirectory i will get an Security-Error because the loaded App is executed in a local-with-filesystem Sandbox appareantly. First Question: Is there a way to change this? That the loaded SWF is running in a network Sandbox? Since that first attempt didn't worked i've moved the SWF to the app:// directory. Now i'll get a Security-Error because there is no policy file on the Server available where the XML data should be retrieved. Second Question: Why is the policy file not necessary when running the SWF by itself, but is necessary when trying to load the data from the application Sandbox? What am i doing wrong? • Smooth Error in qplot from ggplot2

  I have some data that I am trying to plot faceted by its Type with a smooth (Loess, LM, whatever) superimposed. Generation code is below: testFrame <- data.frame(Time=sample(20:60,50,replace=T),Dollars=round(runif(50,0,6)),Type=sample(c("First","Second","Third","Fourth"),50,replace=T,prob=c(.33,.01,.33,.33))) I have no problem either making a faceted plot, or plotting the smooth, but I cannnot do both. The first three lines of code below work fine. The fourth line is where I have trouble: qplot(Time,Dollars,data=testFrame,colour=Type) qplot(Time,Dollars,data=testFrame,colour=Type) + geom_smooth() qplot(Time,Dollars,data=testFrame) + facet_wrap(~Type) qplot(Time,Dollars,data=testFrame) + facet_wrap(~Type) + geom_smooth() It gives the following error: Error in [<-.data.frame(*tmp*, var, value = list(NA = NULL)) : missing values are not allowed in subscripted assignments of data frames What am I missing to overlay a smooth in a faceted plot? I could have sworn I had done this before, possibly even with the same data.

• Flash ActionScript 2.0 problem with the object's _visible parameter

  Hey guys, I've been trying to build something simple in Flash 8, and I stumbled across something weird I cannot explain: I have an object, and at some point of the program, I want it to be visible (it is invisible at first), so I write: _root.myObj._visible = true; _root.gameOver.swapDepths(_root.getNextHighestDepth()); //so it will be on the top and this works fine, the object becomes visible and etc. What I planned to happen next is that the user presses a button on that same object, and the object will go invisible: on(release) { trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.myObj._visible = false; trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.gotoAndPlay("three"); } The trace returns at first true and later on false, so the command works, but oddly the object stays visible, that's what I don't understand. • Why my VPN doesn't work anymore?

  I have openvpn server running on debian lenny. There is only one client - and it is running Windows 7 64-bit. This has worked for few months without any problems. And now, let's say for the last 7 days, it doesn't work at all. I connect successfully from client to the server, but I can't access anything through VPN. I have set it up so that all internet traffic is routed through VPN, and now when I connect with the client, the client can't do anything on the net (open any webpage, ping google, anything ...). Can you help me to figure out what's wrong ? I don't know where to start. I've also tried to connect to another openvpn server (I've installed and configured openvpn on another server, and when I try to connect to it result is the same). So I think there's something wrong with client ... • Android TranslateAnimation after scrollTo() = undrawn view

  This might be a "duh" question but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyway. I have an oversized (bigger than the screen) RelativeLayout, and I'm using swipes to start a TranslateAnimation from viewing one part of the layout to another. Say for instance the layout is two screen wide and two screens tall. After the nice animation to shift the screen, I was using View.scrollTo() to set the new position. This works fine going from the first screen (top left at 0,0) to one of the others. When I swipe to animate back to the first screen though, because the View.scrollTo() invalidated that part of the layout (I assume), that part of the layout is all black as I animate through it. I tried a couple things to get it to redraw itself after the scrollTo() but haven't had any luck, so I figured I'd ask here. thanks! joe d
