  • DataGridViewColumn.DataPropertyName Property

    - by Captain Comic
Hi I have a DataGridView control and I want to populate it with data. I use DataSource property // dgvDealAsset is DataGridView private void DealAssetListControl_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { dgvDealAssets.AutoGenerateColumns = false; dgvDealAssets.DataSource = DealAssetList.Instance.Values.ToList(); } Now problem number one. The class of my collection does not contain only simple types that I can map to columns using DataPropertyName. This is the class that is contained in collection. class MyClass { public String Name; MyOtherClass otherclass; } class MyOtherClass { public String Name; } Now I am binding properties of MyClass to columns col1.DataPropertyName = "Name" // Ok col2.DataPropertyName = "otherclass" // Not OK - I will have empty cell The problem is that I want to display otherclass.Name field. But if I try to write col2.DataPropertyName = "otherclass.Name" I get empty cell. I tried to manually set the column private void DealAssetListControl_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { dgvDealAssets.AutoGenerateColumns = false; dgvDealAssets.DataSource = DealAssetList.Instance.Values.ToList(); // iterate through rows and set the column manually foreach (DataGridViewRow row in dgvDealAssets.Rows) { row.Cells["Column2"].Value = ((DealAsset)row.DataBoundItem).otherclass.Name; } But this foreach cycle takes about minute to complete (2k elements). How to solve this problem?

  • Simulating aspects of static-typing in a duck-typed language

    - by Mike
In my current job I'm building a suite of Perl scripts that depend heavily on objects. (using Perl's bless() on a Hash to get as close to OO as possible) Now, for lack of a better way of putting this, most programmers at my company aren't very smart. Worse, they don't like reading documentation and seem to have a problem understanding other people's code. Cowboy coding is the game here. Whenever they encounter a problem and try to fix it, they come up with a horrendous solution that actually solves nothing and usually makes it worse. This results in me, frankly, not trusting them with code written in duck typed language. As an example, I see too many problems with them not getting an explicit error for misusing objects. For instance, if type A has member foo, and they do something like, instance->goo, they aren't going to see the problem immediately. It will return a null/undefined value, and they will probably waste an hour finding the cause. Then end up changing something else because they didn't properly identify the original problem. So I'm brainstorming for a way to keep my scripting language (its rapid development is an advantage) but give an explicit error message when an an object isn't used properly. I realize that since there isn't a compile stage or static typing, the error will have to be at run time. I'm fine with this, so long as the user gets a very explicit notice saying "this object doesn't have X" As part of my solution, I don't want it to be required that they check if a method/variable exists before trying to use it. Even though my work is in Perl, I think this can be language agnostic.

  • How to not persist NSManagedObjects retrieved from NSManagedObjectContext

    - by RickiG
Hi I parse an xml file containing books, for each new node I go: Book *book = (Book*)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Book" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; To obtain an NSManagedObject of my Core Data Book Entity, I then proceed to populate the managed Book object with data, add it to an array, rinse, repeat. When I am done, I present the list of books to the user. I have not yet executed the save: NSError *error; if (![managedObjectContext save:&error]) { NSLog(@"%@", [error domain]); } The user now selects one of the books, this one I would like to persist, but only this one, all the other books are of no interest to me any more. The Book Entity does not have/or is part of any relationships. It is just a "single" Entity. If I pull the "save lever" every Book object will be persisted and I will have to delete everything but my desired one. How would I get around this challenge, I can't really seem to find that particular use-case in the Core Data Programming Guide, which sort of also bugs me a bit, am I going against best practice here? Thanks for any help given.

  • SerializationException Occurring Only in Release Mode

    - by Calvin Nguyen
Hi, I am working on an ASP.NET web app using Visual Studio 2008 and a third-party library. Things are fine in my development environment. Things are also good if the web app is deployed in Debug configuration. However, when it is deployed in Release mode, SerializationExceptions appear intermittently, breaking other functionality. In the Windows event log, the following error can be seen: "An unhandled exception occurred and the process was terminated. Application ID: DefaultDomain Process ID: 3972 Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException Message: Unable to find assembly 'MyThirdPartyLibrary, Version=1.234.5.67, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89'. Using FUSLOGVW.exe (i.e., Assembly Binding Log Viewer), I can see the problem is that IIS attempts to find MyThirdPartyLibrary in directory C:\windows\system32\inetsrv. It refuses to look in the bin folder of the web app, where the DLL is actually located. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks, Calvin

  • How to add and remove nested model fields dynamically using Haml and Formtastic

    - by Brightbyte8
We've all seen the brilliant complex forms railscast where Ryan Bates explains how to dynamically add or remove nested objects within the parent object form using Javascript. Has anyone got any ideas about how these methods need to be modified so as to work with Haml Formtastic? To add some context here's a simplified version of the problem I'm currently facing: # Teacher form (which has nested subject forms) [from my application] - semantic_form_for(@teacher) do |form| - form.inputs do = form.input :first_name = form.input :surname = form.input :city = render 'subject_fields', :form => form = link_to_add_fields "Add Subject", form, :subjects # Individual Subject form partial [from my application] - form.fields_for :subjects do |ff| #subject_field = ff.input :name = ff.input :exam = ff.input :level = ff.hidden_field :_destroy = link_to_remove_fields "Remove Subject", ff # Application Helper (straight from Railscasts) def link_to_remove_fields(name, f) f.hidden_field(:_destroy) + link_to_function(name, "remove_fields(this)") end def link_to_add_fields(name, f, association) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(association.to_s.singularize + "_fields", :f => builder) end link_to_function(name, h("add_fields(this, \"#{association}\", \"#{escape_javascript(fields)} \")")) end #Application.js (straight from Railscasts) function remove_fields(link) { $(link).previous("input[type=hidden]").value = "1"; $(link).up(".fields").hide(); } function add_fields(link, association, content) { var new_id = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g") $(link).up().insert({ before: content.replace(regexp, new_id) }); } The problem with implementation seems to be with the javascript methods - the DOM tree of a Formtastic form differs greatly from a regular rails form. I've seen this question asked online a few times but haven't come across an answer yet - now you know that help will be appreciated by more than just me! Jack

  • Cookies not present after using XMLHttpRequest

    - by Joe B
I'm trying to make a bookmarklet to download videos off of YouTube, but I've come across a little problem. To detect the highest quality video available, I use a sort of brute force method, in which I make requests using the XMLHttpRequest object until a 404 isn't returned (I can't do it until a 200 ok is returned because YouTube redirects to a different server if the video is available, and the cross-domain policy won't allow me to access any of that data). Once a working URL is found, I simply set window.location to the URL and the download should start, right? Wrong. A request is made, but for reasons unknown to me, the cookies are stripped and YouTube returns a 403 access denied. This does not happen if the XML requests aren't made before it, i.e. if I just set the window.location to the URL everything works fine, it's when I do the XMLHttpRequest that the cookies aren't sent. It's hard to explain so here's the script: var formats = ["37", "22", "35", "34", "18", ""]; var url = "/get_video?video_id=" + yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['video_id'] + "&t=" + (unescape(yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['t'])) + "&fmt="; for (var i = 0; i < formats.length; i++) { xmlhttp = new XMLHttpRequest; xmlhttp.open("HEAD", url + formats[i], false); xmlhttp.send(null); if (xmlhttp.status != 404) { document.location = url + formats[i]; break } } That script does not send the cookies after setting the document.location and thus does not work. However, simply doing this: document.location = /get_video?video_id=" + yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['video_id'] + "&t=" + (unescape(yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['t'])) DOES send the cookies along with the request, and does work. The only downside is I can't automatically detect the highest quality, I just have to try every "fmt" parameter manually until I get it right. So my question is: why is the XMLHttpRequest object removing cookies from subsequent requests? This is the first time I've ever done anything in JS by the way, so please, go easy on me. ;)

  • Getting gridview column value as parameter for javascript function

    - by newName
    I have a gridview with certain number of columns and the ID column where I want to get the value from is currently set to visible = false. The other column is a TemplateField column (LinkButton) and as the user clicks on the button it will grab the value from the ID column and pass the value to one of my javascript function. WebForm: <script language=javascript> function openContent(contentID) { window.open('myContentPage.aspx?contentID=' + contentID , 'View Content','left=300,top=300,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,width=1000,height=500'); return false; } </script> <asp:GridView ID="gvCourse" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" OnRowCommand="gvCourse_RowCommand" OnRowDataBound="gvCourse_RowDataBound" BorderStyle="None" GridLines="None"> <RowStyle BorderStyle="None" /> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkContent" runat="server" CommandName="View" CommandArgument='<%#Eval("contentID") %>' Text='<%#Eval("contentName") %>'> </asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField DataField="contentID" HeaderText="contentID" ReadOnly="True" SortExpression="contentID" Visible="False" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="ContentName" HeaderText="ContentName" ReadOnly="True" SortExpression="ContentName" Visible="False" /> </Columns> <AlternatingRowStyle BorderStyle="None" /> Code behind: protected void gvCourse_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e) { if (e.CommandName == "View") { intID = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument); } } protected void gvCourse_RowDataBound(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { ((LinkButton)e.Row.FindControl("lnkContent")).Attributes.Add("onclick", "return openContent('" + intID + "');"); } } right not i'm trying to get the intID based on user selected item so when the user clicks on the linkbutton it will open a popup window using javascript and the ID will be used as querystring.

  • FindBugs controversial description

    - by Tom Brito
    Am I understanding it wrong, or is the description wrong? Equals checks for noncompatible operand (EQ_CHECK_FOR_OPERAND_NOT_COMPATIBLE_WITH_THIS) This equals method is checking to see if the argument is some incompatible type (i.e., a class that is neither a supertype nor subtype of the class that defines the equals method). For example, the Foo class might have an equals method that looks like: public boolean equals(Object o) { if (o instanceof Foo) return name.equals(((Foo)o).name); else if (o instanceof String) return name.equals(o); else return false; This is considered bad practice, as it makes it very hard to implement an equals method that is symmetric and transitive. Without those properties, very unexpected behavoirs are possible. From: http://findbugs.sourceforge.net/bugDescriptions.html#EQ_CHECK_FOR_OPERAND_NOT_COMPATIBLE_WITH_THIS The description says that the Foo class might have an equals method like that, and after it says that "This is considered bad practice". I'm not getting the "right way".. How should the following method be to be right? @Override public boolean equals(Object obj) { if (obj instanceof DefaultTableModel) return model.equals((DefaultTableModel)obj); else return false; }

  • iPhone - return from an NSOperation

    - by lostInTransit
Hi I am using a subclass of NSOperation to do some background processes. I want the operation to be cancelled when the user clicks a button. Here's what my NSOperation subclass looks like - (id)init{ self = [super init]; if(self){ //initialization code goes here _isFinished = NO; _isExecuting = NO; } return self; } - (void)start { if (![NSThread isMainThread]) { [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(start) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; return; } [self willChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; _isExecuting = YES; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; //operation goes here } - (void)finish{ //releasing objects here [self willChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; [self willChangeValueForKey:@"isFinished"]; _isExecuting = NO; _isFinished = YES; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"isFinished"]; } - (void)cancel{ [self willChangeValueForKey:@"isCancelled"]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"isCancelled"]; [self finish]; } And this is how I am adding objects of this class to a queue and listening for KVO notifications operationQueue = [[NSOperationQueue alloc] init]; [operationQueue setMaxConcurrentOperationCount:5]; [operationQueue addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"operations" options:0 context:&OperationsChangedContext]; - (void)observeValueForKeyPath:(NSString *)keyPath ofObject:(id)object change:(NSDictionary *)change context:(void *)context { if (context == &OperationsChangedContext) { NSLog(@"Queue size: %u", [[operationQueue operations] count]); } else { [super observeValueForKeyPath:keyPath ofObject:object change:change context:context]; } } To cancel an operation (on a button click for instance), I tried calling -cancel but it doesn't make a difference. Also tried calling -finish but even that doesn't change anything. Every time I add an operation to the queue, the queue size only increases. finish is called (checked using NSLog statements) but it doesn't really end the operation. I'm still not very confident I'm doing this right Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong? Thanks a lot

  • Rails: Should partials be aware of instance variables?

    - by Alexandre
Ryan Bates' nifty_scaffolding, for example, does this edit.html.erb <%= render :partial => 'form' %> new.html.erb <%= render :partial => 'form' %> _form.html.erb <%= form_for @some_object_defined_in_action %> That hidden state makes me feel uncomfortable, so I usually like to do this edit.html.erb <%= render :partial => 'form', :locals => { :object => @my_object } %> _form.html.erb <%= form_for object %> So which is better: a) having partials access instance variables or b) passing a partial all the variables it needs? I've been opting for b) as of late, but I did run into a little pickle: some_action.html.erb <% @dad.sons.each do |a_son| %> <%= render :partial => 'partial', :locals => { :son => a_son } %> <% end %> _partial.html.erb The son's name is <%= son.name %> The dad's name is <%= son.dad.name %> son.dad makes a database call to fetch the dad! So I would either have to access @dad, which would be going back to a) having partials access instance variables or I would have to pass @dad in locals, changing render :partial to <%= render :partial = 'partial', :locals = { :dad = @dad, :son = a_son } %, and for some reason passing a bunch of vars to my partial makes me feel uncomfortable. Maybe others feel this way as well. Hopefully that made some sense. Looking for some insight into this whole thing... Thanks!

  • ASP.NET Timer Event

    - by K Ratnajyothi
protected void SubmitButtonClicked(object sender, EventArgs e) { System.Timers.Timer timer = new System.Timers.Timer(); --- --- //line 1 get_datasource(); String message = "submitted."; ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this.Page, this.GetType(), "popupAlert", "popupAlert(' " + message + " ');", true); timer.Interval = 30000; timer.Elapsed += new ElapsedEventHandler(timer_tick); // Only raise the event the first time Interval elapses. timer.AutoReset = false; timer.Enabled = true; } } protected void timer_tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { //line 2 get_datasource(); GridView2.DataBind(); } The problem is with the data in the grid view that is being displayed... since when get_datasource which is after line 1 is called the updated data is displayed in the grid view since it is a postback event but when the timer event handler is calling the timer_tick event the get_datasource function is called but after that the updated data is not visible in the grid view. It is nnot getting updated since the timer_tick is not a post back event

  • Django custom managers - how do I return only objects created by the logged-in user?

    - by Tom Tom
I want to overwrite the custom objects model manager to only return objects a specific user created. Admin users should still return all objects using the objects model manager. Now I have found an approach that could work. They propose to create your own middleware looking like this: #### myproject/middleware/threadlocals.py try: from threading import local except ImportError: # Python 2.3 compatibility from django.utils._threading_local import local _thread_locals = local() def get_current_user(): return getattr(_thread_locals, 'user', None) class ThreadLocals(object): """Middleware that gets various objects from the request object and saves them in thread local storage.""" def process_request(self, request): _thread_locals.user = getattr(request, 'user', None) #### end And in the Custom manager you could call the get_current_user() method to return only objects a specific user created. class UserContactManager(models.Manager): def get_query_set(self): return super(UserContactManager, self).get_query_set().filter(creator=get_current_user()) Is this a good approach to this use-case? Will this work? Or is this like "using a sledgehammer to crack a nut" ? ;-) Just using: Contact.objects.filter(created_by= user) in each view doesn`t look very neat to me. EDIT Do not use this middleware approach !!! use the approach stated by Jack M. below After a while of testing this approach behaved pretty strange and with this approach you mix up a global-state with a current request. Use the approach presented below. It is really easy and no need to hack around with the middleware. create a custom manager in your model with a function that expects the current user or any other user as an input. #in your models.py class HourRecordManager(models.Manager): def for_user(self, user): return self.get_query_set().filter(created_by=user) class HourRecord(models.Model): #Managers objects = HourRecordManager() #in vour view you can call the manager like this and get returned only the objects from the currently logged-in user. hr_set = HourRecord.objects.for_user(request.user)

  • Binding Data to DataGridView in VB.Net

    - by Peter
Hi, I have a bit of code which loads data from a stored procedure in MS SQL Server and then loads the data to a datagridview, which works fine. What i want is for the code that connects / loads the data to sit in my Database Class and then everything associated with the datagridview to be stored in my Form but i am having problems passing the contents of the bindingsource over to the Form from the Database Class. • MS Ajax FilteredTextBox stopped working

    - by TenaciousImpy
Hi, I'm using Microsoft's AJAX library via their CDN. Everything was going fine in an old project. I then created a new project and copied and pasted some of the AJAX code hoping that it would work. However, my code isn't working and I've been struggling to figure out why. I'm trying to implement a filtered textbox: <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.4.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/beta/0911/Start.debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/beta/0911/extended/ExtendedControls.debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { Sys.require(Sys.components.filteredTextBox, function() { $("[id$='UserName']").filteredTextBox({ InvalidChars: ".", FilterType: Sys.Extended.UI.FilterTypes.Numbers | Sys.Extended.UI.FilterTypes.UppercaseLetters | Sys.Extended.UI.FilterTypes.LowercaseLetters | Sys.Extended.UI.FilterTypes.Custom, FilterMode: Sys.Extended.UI.FilterModes.ValidChars }); }); }); </script> When I run this, the textbox isn't filtered and I can enter any character. In Chrome, I used the Dev Tools and it found two errors on the page. In my .aspx page, I have: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'Numbers' of undefined (regarding the Sys.Extended.UI.FilterTypes.Numbers in the code above). In filteredtextboxbehavior.debug.js, I have the error: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an Object> has no method 'registerComponent' Any ideas why I'm getting this error? The code has been working previously so I'm not sure if I had added any extra settings in my old project which the new one doesn't have. Thanks! ps:The textbox can be found as any other actions on it are recognized.

  • T SQL Rotate row into columns

SQL 2005 using T-SQL, I want to rotate rows into columns. • Drag and drop rectangle in C#

    - by sama
    I want to know how to draw rectangle in C# and make it dragged and dropped in the page here my code to draw it but I cannot drag or drop it. public partial class Form1 : Form { public bool drag = false; int cur_x, cur_y; Rectangle rec = new Rectangle(10, 10, 100, 100); public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs r) { base.OnPaint(r); Graphics g = r.Graphics; //g.DrawRectangle(Pens.Black, rec); g.FillRectangle(Brushes.Aquamarine, rec); } private void recmousedown(object sender, MouseEventArgs m) { if (m.Button != MouseButtons.Left) return; rec = new Rectangle(m.X, m.Y,100,100); drag = true; cur_x = m.X; cur_y = m.Y; } private void recmousemove(object sender, MouseEventArgs m) { if (m.Button != MouseButtons.Left) return; rec.X = m.X; rec.Y = m.Y; Invalidate(); } }

  • How do I use a .NET class in VBA? Syntax help!

    - by Jordan S
ok I have couple of .NET classes that I want to use in VBA. So I must register them through COM and all that. I think I have the COM registration figured out (finally) but now I need help with the syntax of how to create the objects. Here is some pseudo code showing what I am trying to do. EDIT: Changed Attached Objects to return an ArrayList instead of a List The .NET classes look like this... public class ResourceManagment { public ResourceManagment() { // Default Constructor } public static List<RandomObject> AttachedObjects() { ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); return list; } } public class RandomObject { // public RandomObject(int someParam) { } } OK, so this is what I would like to do in VBA (demonstrated in C#) but I don't know how... public class VBAClass { public void main() { ArrayList myList = ResourceManagment.AttachedObjects(); foreach(RandomObject x in myList) { // Do something with RandomObject x like list them in a Combobox } } } One thing to note is that RandomObject does not have a public default constructor. So I can not create an instance of it like Dim x As New RandomObject. MSDN says that you can not instantiate an object that doesn't have a default constructor through COM but you can still use the object type if it is returned by another method... Types must have a public default constructor to be instantiated through COM. Managed, public types are visible to COM. However, without a public default constructor (a constructor without arguments), COM clients cannot create an instance of the type. COM clients can still use the type if the type is instantiated in another way and the instance is returned to the COM client. You may include overloaded constructors that accept varying arguments for these types. However, constructors that accept arguments may only be called from managed (.NET) code. Added: Here is my attempt in VB: Dim count As Integer count = 0 Dim myObj As New ResourceManagment For Each RandomObject In myObj.AttachedObjects count = count + 1 Next RandomObject

  • Create System.Data.Linq.Table in Code for Testing

    - by S. DePouw
I have an adapter class for Linq-to-Sql: public interface IAdapter : IDisposable { Table<Data.User> Activities { get; } } Data.User is an object defined by Linq-to-Sql pointing to the User table in persistence. The implementation for this is as follows: public class Adapter : IAdapter { private readonly SecretDataContext _context = new SecretDataContext(); public void Dispose() { _context.Dispose(); } public Table<Data.User> Users { get { return _context.Users; } } } This makes mocking the persistence layer easy in unit testing, as I can just return whatever collection of data I want for Users (Rhino.Mocks): Expect.Call(_adapter.Users).Return(users); The problem is that I cannot create the object 'users' since the constructors are not accessible and the class Table is sealed. One option I tried is to just make IAdapter return IEnumerable or IQueryable, but the problem there is that I then do not have access to the methods ITable provides (e.g. InsertOnSubmit()). Is there a way I can create the fake Table in the unit test scenario so that I may be a happy TDD developer?

  • Why is "Fixup" needed for Persistence Ignorant POCO's in EF 4?

    - by Eric J.
One of the much-anticipated features of Entity Framework 4 is the ability to use POCO (Plain Old CLR Objects) in a Persistence Ignorant manner (i.e. they don't "know" that they are being persisted with Entity Framework vs. some other mechanism). I'm trying to wrap my head around why it's necessary to perform association fixups and use FixupCollection in my "plain" business object. That requirement seems to imply that the business object can't be completely ignorant of the persistence mechanism after all (in fact the word "fixup" sounds like something needs to be fixed/altered to work with the chosen persistence mechanism). Specifically I'm referring to the Association Fixup region that's generated by the ADO.NET POCO Entity Generator, e.g.: #region Association Fixup private void FixupImportFile(ImportFile previousValue) { if (previousValue != null && previousValue.Participants.Contains(this)) { previousValue.Participants.Remove(this); } if (ImportFile != null) { if (!ImportFile.Participants.Contains(this)) { ImportFile.Participants.Add(this); } if (ImportFileId != ImportFile.Id) { ImportFileId = ImportFile.Id; } } } #endregion as well as the use of FixupCollection. Other common persistence-ignorant ORMs don't have similar restrictions. Is this due to fundamental design decisions in EF? Is some level of non-ignorance here to stay even in later versions of EF? Is there a clever way to hide this persistence dependency from the POCO developer? How does this work out in practice, end-to-end? For example, I understand support was only recently added for ObservableCollection (which is needed for Silverlight and WPF). Are there gotchas in other software layers from the design requirements of EF-compatible POCO objects?

  • Detecting which MCUs to connect on an incoming conference

    - by Fábio Batista
Hello, SO. I'm working with the OCS UCCAPI, developing a custom OCS client. I'm currently having a hard time detecting what "kind" of Conference my client is being invited to. Using the Office Communicator client, I can start "IM conferences" (by inviting more than 1 person and selecting "start a IM conversation") or "video conferences" (by selecting more than 1 person and selecting "start a video call"). The Office Communicator client, on the invitees' end, starts correctly the appropriate session (just IM, just Video or IM+Video). However, when receiving the conference invite on my custom client, there's no data about the kind of session I'm being invited. I need this information, in order to make a decision whether or not to connect to the AV MCU and capture/show video. I've tried already: When handling _IUccSessionManagerEvents.OnIncomingSession, parse the RemoteSessionDescription property on the UccIncomingInvitationEvent object: no luck, the only data about the conference modality is an element on the XML about the IM being enabled or not (<im available="true"> or <im available="false">), but nothing about the session having video available or not. When handling _IUccConferenceSessionEvents.OnEnter, check the Media property on the UccConferenceSession. Don't work, all media types are present (MESSAGE, AUDIO, VIDEO, DATA e TELEPHONY), regardless of the type of conference I'm being invited. Also when handling _IUccConferenceSessionEvents.OnEnter, check the Entities collection on the UccConferenceView object, to check which MCUs are enabled for this conference. Don't work either, all MUCs are listed as available (IM, AV, DATA and CONTROL), regardless of the type of conference I'm being invited. I'm running out of ideas. Some references I'm using: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb664307.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd170830.aspx Thanks a lot.

  • Debugger Visualizer, ElementHost, and Edit and Continue problems

    - by Frank Fella
I recently wrote a custom Debugger Visualizer for Visual Studio 2008 for one of the custom types in my application. The UI for the visualizer is written in WPF and is hosted in an element host and shown using the IDialogVisualizerService windowService object. Everything works great, and my visualizer loads and shows the relevant information, but if try to "edit and continue" in my application after loading the visualizer, Visual Studio crashes with no useful error message. In trying to debug this I removed almost all of my code from the solution to the point where I was only serializing a string with the ObjectSource and displaying just an empty element host and I still get the crash on edit and continue. If I remove the element host and show a WinForms control or form there is no crash. Here is the Visualizer code: using System; using System.Drawing; using System.IO; using System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Windows.Forms.Integration; using Microsoft.VisualStudio.DebuggerVisualizers; using ObjectVisualizerShared; using ObjectVisualizerUI; namespace ObjectVisualizer { public class Visualizer : DialogDebuggerVisualizer { protected override void Show(IDialogVisualizerService windowService, IVisualizerObjectProvider objectProvider) { try { Stream stream = objectProvider.GetData(); if (stream.Length > 0) { BinaryFormatter formatter = new BinaryFormatter(); VisualizerNode node = (VisualizerNode)formatter.Deserialize(stream); if (node != null) { VisualizerWindow window = new VisualizerWindow(node); ElementHost host = new ElementHost(); host.Child = window; host.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; host.Size = new Size(800, 600); windowService.ShowDialog(host); } } } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(string.Format("Error!\n{0}", ex), "Object Visualizer"); } } } } Any ideas?

  • XAML Deserialization problem

    - by mrwayne
Hi, I have a block of XAML of which i'm trying to deserialize. For arguments sake lets say it looks like below. <NS:SomeObject> <NS:SomeObject.SomeProperty> <NS:SomeDifferentObject SomeOtherProp="a value"/> </NS:SomeObject.SomeProperty> </NS:SomeObject> Of which i deserialise using the following code. XamlReader.Load( File.OpenRead( @"c:\SomeFile.xaml")) I have 2 solutions, one i use Unit Testing, and another i have for my web application. When i'm using the unit testing solution, it deserializes fine and works as expected. However, when i try to deserialize using my other project i keep getting an exception like the following. 'NameSpace.SomeObject' value cannot be assigned to property 'SomeProperty' of object 'NameSpace.SomeObject'. Object of Type 'NameSpace.SomeObject' cannot be converted to type 'NameSpace.SomeObject'. It's as if it is getting confused or instantiating 2 different types of objects? Note, i do not have similarly named classes or any sort of namespace conflict. The same codes executes fine in one solution and not the other. The same project files are referenced in both. Please help!

  • Django: Using 2 different AdminSite instances with different models registered

    - by omat
Apart from the usual admin, I want to create a limited admin for non-staff users. This admin site will have different registered ModelAdmins. I created a folder /useradmin/ in my project directory and similar to contrib/admin/_init_.py I added an autodiscover() which will register models defined in useradmin.py modules instead of admin.py: # useradmin/__init__.py def autodiscover(): # Same as admin.autodiscover() but registers useradmin.py modules ... for app in settings.INSTALLED_APPS: mod = import_module(app) try: before_import_registry = copy.copy(site._registry) import_module('%s.useradmin' % app) except: site._registry = before_import_registry if module_has_submodule(mod, 'useradmin'): raise I also cretated sites.py under useradmin/ to override AdminSite similar to contrib/admin/sites: # useradmin/sites.py class UserAdminSite(AdminSite): def has_permission(self, request): # Don't care if the user is staff return request.user.is_active def login(self, request): # Do the login stuff but don't care if the user is staff if request.user.is_authenticated(): ... else: ... site = UserAdminSite(name='useradmin') In the project's URLs: # urls.py from django.contrib import admin import useradmin admin.autodiscover() useradmin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), (r'^useradmin/', include(useradmin.site.urls)), ) And I try to register different models in admin.py and useradmin.py modules under app directories: # products/useradmin.py import useradmin class ProductAdmin(useradmin.ModelAdmin): pass useradmin.site.register(Product, ProductAdmin) But when registering models in useradmin.py like useradmin.site.register(Product, ProductAdmin), I get 'module' object has no attribute 'ModelAdmin' exception. Though when I try this via shell; import useradmin from useradmin import ModelAdmin does not raise any exception. Any ideas what might be wrong? Edit: I tried going the @Luke way and arranged the code as follows as minimal as possible: (file paths are relative to the project root) # admin.py from django.contrib.admin import autodiscover from django.contrib.admin.sites import AdminSite user_site = AdminSite(name='useradmin') # urls.py (does not even have url patterns; just calls autodiscover()) import admin admin.autodiscover() # products/admin.py import admin from products.models import Product admin.user_site.register(Product) As a result I get an AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'user_site' when admin.user_site.register(Product) in products/admin.py is called. Any ideas? Solution: I don't know if there are better ways but, renaming the admin.py in the project root to useradmin.py and updating the imports accordingly resolved the last case, which was a naming and import conflict.
