  • JSON stringify standalone function for JavaScript

    I know of YUI who has a JSON.stringify utility and also of JSON2 from json.org. What are other good implementations of JSON.stringify? It should also work in IE6, IE7 and not depend on a framework. If it depends on anything this should be easily included all in one file. Edit: I could easily use jquery-json, which was suggested in the comments of the accepted answer. It did what I wanted. (It depends on jquery but that was easily solved)

  • CoffeeScript Class Properties Within Nested Anonymous Functions

    I'm just taking a look at CoffeeScript for the first time so bare with me if this is a dumb question. I'm familiar with the hidden pattern methodology however I'm still wrapping my head around object prototypes. I'm trying to create a basic class for controlling a section on my site. The problem I'm running into is losing defined class variables within a different scope. For example, the code below works fine and creates the properties within the object perfectly. However when I jump into a jQuery callback I lose all knowledge of the class variables storing some of the jQuery objects for multiple uses.   • Control within ascx is null when ascx is added from codebehind

    I am having difficulties how to construct my question, but if I have to put it simply the situation is that I have categories of products. I have an aspx with a repeater on the left that lists the categories. And I want the products to be listed on the right. Category number is variable so I made an ascx with a DataList in it. When I try to do foreach category, ascx = new ascx(); then the DataList within this ascx control is null. ps: what I want to do is to preload all the products (thre is not much) and hide the divs and fadein fadeout them using jQuery when a category div is clicked. rightnow it is using jQuery.load(); and I don't like how the images load, cuz they download from top to bottom.     I have some controls bound to a BindingSource control. I want to do a calculation when the value changes in one control and set the result on another control. Do i update the textbox the property is bound to or do i update the underlying entity which would update the control anyway(i hope)? When i change textbox A...textbox B is updated with the new calculated result..this works fine...but i have noticed that when i Leave textbox A..textbox B reverts back to its original value...what is going on here!

    I look at ExtJS, and it appears to provide many of the RIA features that more bulky suites such as Flex provide, without the flash requirement. However, as Open-source initiatiatives such as jQuery-UI continue, will ExtJS simply die at some point? Furthermore, since flash penetration only continues to increase, why put stock in a javascript library? That said, JavaScript libraries such as jQuery have made gigantic leaps in providing easy-to-use APIs with great functionality, so maybe there's some merit in that. Thoughts? Opinions? ExtJS has a price tag, so I have to ask this question.

    Hi, I am a Javascript/jQuery/Prototype newcomer and I have a page that has a Prototype function to get info from a database and put it into some input fields. This was made before I came to work on this site and now I've been asked to add a hide/show div function. I tried it in jQuery and there were clashes with the two frameworks, (as found in my previous question). My question now is, how would I go about building a show/hide function in Prototype? I now need to implement a slideshow on every page, and to follow suit, I need a Prototype cycle or slideshow plugin. The requirements are fairly simple: images should fade-in/out every N seconds four controls: prev, pause, play, next i'd prefer to add images to the slideshow via JavaScript; not by adding too many tags Can any one suggest an existing plugin that can be customized easily and is not bloated like most of the other plugins.     When calculating the load factor of a hashtable with an open-addressing array implementation I am using: numberOfKeysInArray/sizeOfArray however it occurred to me that since deleted entries must be marked as such (to distinguish them from empty spaces), it might make sense to include these in the number of keys. My thinking is that as far as estimating the average number of probes to find an entry, deleted entries should count towards the load factor, but as far as inserting a new key they should not. Which is the proper calculation: including deleted keys or not?

What I need to do is calculate the date based on a variable date (and not the current date). Something like this: $my_date = $some_row_from_a_database; $date_plus_10_days = ???; Anyone know how to do that? Thanks

    hi, I'm using a (modal) lightbox on a page of my website to display my nodes. I'm using some plugins such as an external jquery-plugin for tooltips and the drupal plugin jQuery Media (to load flash video player for some video file-fields). These plugins are loaded when the main page load and they parse the html content of the page. When I dynamically load the lightbox (and I use AJAX to update its content) the html inside the lightbox is not parse... so no tooltips, no videos. how can I solve this ? Should I trigger the plugins again from Lightbox callback function ? Or should I use something else instead of the lightbox ? Thanks

The hibernate is generating power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale) whereas sybase supports power function as Syntax POWER( numeric-expression-1, numeric-expression-2 ) We have tried modifying the hibernate.dialect. Have tried org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseASE15Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Sybase11Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseAnywhereDialect but all dialects generate the power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale). Is this hibernate issue or are we missing something?

    In particular, I need a way to represent a curve/spline that passes through a set of known 3D points, and a way of finding other points on the curve/spline, by subdivision/interpolation. For example, if I have a set of points P0 to PN, I want to find 100 points between P0 and P1 that are on a spline that passes through P0 and P1. I see that Java3D's KBRotPosScaleSplinePathInterpolator performs such a calculation, but it is tied to that API's scenegraph model and I do not see how to return the values I need.

  • Returning a JSON view in combination with a boolean

    What i would like to accomplish is that a partiel view contains a form. This form is posted using JQuery $.post. After a successfull post javascript picks up the result and uses JQuery's html() method to fill a container with the result. However now I don't want to return the Partial View, but a JSON object containing that partial view and some other object (Success - bool in this case). I tried it with the following code: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Edit(int id, Item item) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { try { // ... return Json(new { Success = true, PartialView = PartialView("Edit", item) }); } catch(Exception ex) { // ... } } return Json(new { Success = false, PartialView = PartialView("Edit", item) }); } However I don't get the HTML in this JSON object and can't use html() to show the result. I tried using this method to render the partial as Html and send that. However this fails on the RenderControl(tw) method with a: The method or operation is not implemented.

    I have a time series of two indexes, with each row representing the closing price on the same day. I'd like to go to row 30 and lookback over the last 30 'days' and calculate the pearson correlation. And then store that value in a new vector. Then, repeat the calculation for the entire time series. It is a trivial task in Excel, so I'm convinced it can be done in R. I don't know the method to use though.

Im trying this simple calculation in a Java application: System.out.println("b=" + (1 - 7/10)); Obviously Im wainting for "b=0.3" in the output but here's what I get: b=1 What?! Why this happens? If I make: System.out.println("b=" + (1-0.7)); I get the right result which is "b=0.3". What's going wrong here? Thanks!
