  Should the view have nothing event specific in its interface and call the presenter plain methods to handle events and not have any official EventHandlers? My intention is to understand the benefits of each style and not just a blanket answer of which to use. My main goals is clarity and high value testability. Testability overall is important, but I wouldn't sacrifice design simplicity and clarity to be able to add another type of test that doesn't lead to too much gain over the test cases already possible with a simpler design. If a design choice does off more testability please include an example (pseudo code is fine) of the type of test it can now offer so I can make my decision if I value that type of extra test enough. • Using Fancybox with Google Static Maps

  Setup I have multiple links on a page with the class location_link Each Links rel attribute is equal to a city state combo (i.e.,Omaha, NE) Once the page is loaded, a JavaScript function loops through all of the location_link items and binds a click event to them using jQuery. This click event fires a call to the Fancybox constructor that is supposed to show a Google Map of the location that link is associated with The Problem: Whenever I click on one of the "location links", I get the following error message: The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later. The The Image URL I'm using does resolve and pulls back the data I need When I put the above mentioned URL into a standard <img> tag, the map shows up just fine. I'd like to pull this off without having to create some sort of dummy <img> tag that I'm constantly switching the src attribute out of. Hopefully, you'll find this information helpful. • Why does Graphviz fail on gvLayout?

At first, I thought it might have been how I was declaring my P/Invoke signature, so I tested it from a C program instead, but it still failed in the same way. • Slimbox 2 Plugin, jQuery Flickr, and IE8

  Hello, I am currently developing a site that I make use of two jQuery plugins: Flickr jquery plugin (http://code.google.com/p/jquery-flickr/) Slimbox (http://code.google.com/p/slimbox/) The first plugin is used to pull in flickr photos from a specific account. These photos are displayed as thumbnails on the page. I am then using the second plugin to display larger views of these images. Because the flickr photos are fetched when the page loads, I am calling the Slimbox 2 function like this: $(document).ready(function() { $("#Flickr").flickr(); //Call Flickr plugin $(window).bind('load', function() { $("#Flickr a").slimbox();//Call Slimbox2 }); }); On first testing this seemed to have worked perfectly. I tested multiple versions of FireFox, IE7, IE6, and Safari. Everything is great. However, the Slimbox lightbox effest does not work in IE8. However, if I put IE8 into compatibility mode, everything works as expected. I would like to avoid forcing compatibility mode. There are no javascript errors and I am at a loss for testing. • Decompiling a *.DLL to assembly for .net in delphi 4

  I love my Delphi 4 but at the same time I see the need to talk to windows .net This is a recompiled dll that I found on sourceforge.net/projects/delphinet/ (DelphiNet03.zip) by some nice people that fund the dll from some were. The real answer is to make this dll so that fits into Delphi as true Delphi code, and not a dll clip on. So we can make objects that use dot net in Delphi. Because I’m not an assembly freak, I’m freaking out a little with a wee sweek for help! 1/ How do I link the asm code with the data info at the bottom of this code. Can some one show me which calls to look for to make this link to data. 2/ I need to find the beginning of all the procedures and functions, but I cannot find a ‘RET’ statement.   I'm having a bit of trouble loading pages into an already-existing colorbox. With my onComplete binding above, this works for the first click, but the next click just opens like a normal page. If I add another onComplete to the $.fn.colorbox() call in the above code, then the 2nd click will also load in the same colorbox, but the 3rd will not. Is there a way to just bind all future clicks to open in the same colorbox? I don't know much about event binding yet. If you need clarification, please ask.

• CSS background-images and Z-Index problem

  Hope someone has an easy answer on this. I have a header image which is just a 75px high gradient with a fade on the bottom. I have it set as the background image on my header and I want to throw in a left-sidebar on my page. There is a transparency on the header image and when I have my sidebar I can't get it to sit behind the header. You can see in this screenshot: link text The green sidebar won't "sit" behind the header. I have the header z-index set to 99 and the sidebar to 1. I tried the reverse to make sure I didn't mix up my numbers but that didn't work. Both are absolutely positioned. I'm attaching their CSS selectors in the hopes someone has an easy answer.   We're using a FileStreamResult to provide video data to a Silverlight MediaElement based video player: public ActionResult Preview(Guid id) { return new FileStreamResult( Services.AssetStore.GetStream(id, ContentType.Preview), "application/octet-stream"); } Unfortunately, the Silverlight video player downloads the entire video file before it starts playing. This behavior is expected as our Preview Action does not support downloading partial content. (side note: if the file is hosted in an IIS virtual directory we can start playback at any location in the video while it is still downloading. however for security and auditing reasons we can't provide a direct download link. so this is not an option.) How can we improve the Controller Action to support partial HTTP content? I assume we first have to inform the client that we support it (adding an "Accept-Ranges:bytes" header to a HEAD request), then we have to evaluate the HTTP "Range" header and stream the requested file range with a response code of 206. Will that work with ASP.NET MVC hosted on IIS6? Is there already some code available? • How can I dynamically access user control properties?

  Im trying to create a "user control menu" where links to a page's usercontrols are placed at the top of the page. This will allow me to put several usercontrols on a page and allow the user to jump to that section of the page without scrolling so much. In order to do this, I put each usercontrol in a folder (usercontrols) and gave each control a Description property (<%@ Control Language="C#" Description = "Vehicles" .... %>). My question is how can I access this description dynamically? I want to use this description as the link in my menu. So far, I have a foreach on my page that looks in the ControlCollection for a control that is of the ASP.usercontrols type. If it is I would assume that I could access its attributes and grab that description property. How can I do this? (Im also open to a better way to achieve my "user control menu", but maybe thats another question.) Should I use ((System.Web.UI.UserControl)mydynamiccontrol).Attributes.Keys?

  What I need is that the latest (mistake) revision being reverted and that the repository does not store it in anyway. That is, I'm trying to erase the latest revision out of existence, NOT trying to fix things by coming back to the latest-1 revision. In other words, I want to avoid the repository growing in size. Suppose head revision is 100. I knew that the suggested answer is that svnadmin dump -r0:80 old-repo | svnadmin load --force-uuid new-repo. What I'm confusing myself about is why not svnadmin dump -r81:100 old-repo Why the first and not the second solution? I suppose svnadmin dump will erase the repository completely? And keeping only revision 0 - 80 in a dump file? Is my understanding of "taking a part out of the repository into a dump file" about svnadmin dump completely wrong? (That is revision 81 - 100 is still there) Sincere apologies if this has been asked. I did spend some time searching though no specific things about this were found. A topic link in case I miss it would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I'm programing on C++, I'm using Visual Studio 2008, Windows XP, and I have the following problem: My application, that is a DLL that can be used from Python, loads an external dll, uses the required methods, and then unloads this external Dll. It's working properly, but after more than 1000 cycles the method "LoadLibraryA" returns a NULL reference. The main steps are: HINSTANCE h = NULL; h = LoadLibraryA(dllfile.c_str()); DWORD dw = GetLastError(); The error got is: ERROR_DLL_INIT_FAILED 1114 (0x45A) A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. The Dll is unloaded by using the following: FreeLibrary(mDLL); mDLL = NULL; Where mDLL is defined like this: HINSTANCE mDLL; First alternative tried: Just load the Dll only once, and unloaded it when the application ends. This fix the problem but introduces a new one. When the application ends, instead of first executing the DllMain method of my applicaion, wich unloads the external DLL, is executing first the DllMain method of the other Dll. This cause the following error because my application is trying to unload a Dll that was unload by itself previously. "Unhandled exception at 0x04a00d07 (DllName.DLL) in Python.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x0000006b". Any suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks in advance. Regards.

  Hello, I have been asked to implement a javascript floodlight tag onto my site which is to be called everytime a customer downloads a pdf file.   I want to use the Facebook Graph API to search the public status updates concerning a keyword. For example, this works great: http://graph.facebook.com/search?q=obama&type=post It shows me all the posts with the word "obama" in it. If the post is a picture, it actually returns a field called "link" which is the permalink to the picture on the actual Facebook website, in the user's profile. Which is exactly what I want, but for pictures. But if the post in question is just a status update, i.e. just text, all it returns is the 3 fields: message, created_time, and updated_time. How do I view this actual status update on www.facebook.com? I realize I can view it on graph.facebook.com in JSON format, but I want to actually be able to show the permalink to the status update, or post. The final result I would like to retrieve might look something like this: http://www.facebook.com/[user id]/posts/[post id] With the [user id] and [post id] fields swapped out with the actual IDs, obviously.   Background: So I’m new to writing grunt tasks, so hopefully this isn’t a stupid question. Purpose of my grunt task: Given a file (html / jsp / php / etc) search all the link / script tags, compare the href / src to a key, and replace with the contents of the file. Proposed task configuration: myTask:{ index:{ files:{src:"test/testcode/index.html", dest:"test/testcode/index.html"}, css:[ { file: "/css/some/css/file.css", fileToReplace:"/target/css/file.css" }, { file: "/css/some/css/file2.css", fileToReplace:"/target/css/file2.css" } ], js:[ { file: "/css/some/css/file.css", fileToReplace:”/target/css/file.css" }, { file: "/css/some/css/file2.css", fileToReplace:"/target/css/file2.css" } ] } } Problem: Now, per my understanding, when dealing with files, you should reference the ‘this.files’ object because it handles a bunch of nice things for you, correct? Using intelliJ and the debugger, I see the following when i watch the ‘this.files’ object: http://i.imgur.com/Gj6iANo.png What I would expect to see is src and dest to be the same, not dest ===‘src’ and src === undefined. So, What is it that I am missing? Is there some documentation on ‘this.files’ I can read about? I’ve tried setting the files attribute in the target to a number of other formats per grunts spec, none seem to work (for this script, ideally the src / dest would be the same, so the user would just have to enter it once, but i’m not even getting in to that right now.) I am using nested scopes to accomplish this and params in the URL For example, when a user searches for "handbag" it creates a query like the following. http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go! I want to add a :filter param to the end of this url and reload the page with the new url. http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go!&filter=lowest_price As shown above the &filter=lowest_price is added to the query. I have already written controller code to handle this and I know it works as long as the query is like the 2nd link above. my views code <div class = "filter_options"> <p> <strong>Filter by:</strong> <%= link_to_unless_current "Recent", :filter => 'recent' %> | <%= link_to_unless_current "Lowest Price", :filter => 'lowest_price' %> | <%= link_to_unless_current "Highest Price", :filter => 'highest_price' %> </p> </div> This is how I have it currently, which works if my URL does not have a search string attached to it. Unfortunately, this will go to a http://localhost:3000/junks?filter=lowest_price even if there is a search string. I would like to know how to create my links so that they add onto the search string shown in the 2nd code example. Additionally, if a search string with a filter is already present, it would only change that filter and resubmit the search string with the new filter. I hope I am being clear.

I've downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. As mentioned by Hao I've already tried the tutorial mentioned in that link. Here is the error messages I'm receiving with that tutorial. • How to ajax load a parent-child listbox in JQuery/Asp.net MVC popup?

  hi guys, i'm new to the asp.net mvc. and i have a link which will popup show a 3 panes listbox which allows the user to select country, region and language. and when the user click on the language, this will redirect back to the controller and refresh the page and show the proper localized content. i was thinking of using a jquery dialog/modal to do this but so i try using fancybox for this which will load the hidden div of the three listbox up. unfortunately, on clicking on the first listbox, the page will call a jquery event which will show the populate the 2nd list box in which the lightbox will close. is there a better way to do this? or i'm not using the proper jquery plugin? i was thinking of putting the whole three panes inside a html file and do ajax call to get the content into that page and load the listbox like that and just use the html popup like a normal popup. Any suggestions? i'm stuck, help!!
