  The table is: currency_name exchange_rate USD 1.000000 EUR 1.194929 CAD 0.942142 etc. What I want is to make a simple little cron job Python script to run every couple hours and update these values in the database. Are there any open APIs? I mean I am like 99% sure Yahoo! or Google finance has something like this but cannot find. Maybe someone here has done this?

• PAM authentication problem

  I am using this module to authenticate using pam: http://code.google.com/p/web2py/source/browse/gluon/contrib/pam.py I can call authenticate('username','password') and it returns True/ False. It works for any 'username' but 'root'. My guess is that there is a security restriction in PAM that does not allow to check for the root password. I need to be able to check the root password. Is there anything I can change in the pam.conf or somewhere else to remove this restriction?

Here's the thing, I like this java-like code writting: if (condition == true) { doSomeStuff(); } But VisualStudio "helps" me with his own "style", which I don't like and I am unable to change (after rather big time of desperate checking all settings :/) if (condition == true) { DoStuff(); } I obviously want the "{" char to be in same line where condition is ... I know how to send a simple email but sending a EML file as email is not something i could do and could not find it on Google. Can anyone help me with that. However I can't get it to work, is there any example? Say, after the user logged on to my site successufully via Google, the user then decided to close the browser.   The Selenium setup.py can be found at http://code.google.com/p/selenium/source/browse/trunk/setup.py. When running "python setup.py sdist" the "firefox/test/py" directory is ignored for some reason though it's mentioned in the "package_dir" and in "packages". Any ideas why it's ignored?

  How would you prompt the user for some input but timing out after N seconds? Google is pointing to a mail thread about it at http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2006-January/533215.html but it seems not to work. The statement in which the timeout happens, no matter whether it is a sys.input.readline or timer.sleep(), I always get: <type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: [raw_]input expected at most 1 arguments, got 2 which somehow the except fails to catch.
