  Hello, I have 1 UserControl (SchoolclassAdministration.xaml) that is datatemplated with 1 ViewModel (SchoolclassAdministrationViewModel) I have 3 Models and 3 ViewModels in that scenario. Those 3 ViewModels must reflect the requirements of the View. The requirements are 3 "Areas" on the left side and 2 "Areas" on the right side. 3: SchoolclassFormular PupilFormular SubjectFormular Those have all Buttons for Add/Delete 2: PupilsDataGrid SubjectsDataGrid The Master-Detail scenario is between the: SchoolclassFormular = PupilsDataGrid = SubjectsDataGrid The switching of the ViewModelCollections work! My Problem scenario is this: The DataContext is on the SchoolclassAdministrationViewModel what is the ViewModel containing the AllSchoolclassesViewModel ObservableCollection bound to the SchoolclassAdministration.xaml UserControl. My SchoolclassViewModel,PupilViewModel and SubjectViewModel has all Properties, Commands(Add/Delete). My Question: How can I set these 3 ViewModels as DataContext to my ONE SchoolclassAdministration.xaml UserControl I have? Before you answer... putting every ViewModel(schoolclass,pupil,subject) in its own UserControl will not help me because then the Master-Detail switching can NOT work anymore. Every related ViewModels need to be put in a related/ONE UserControl. OK now I can`t wait for an answer because that scenario is driving me nuts for weeks.

• ng-grid checkbox with filtering

  If I have a huge table with ng-grid, and I enabled a checkbox to select all. Is there a way for me to combine this selectAll feature with the filtering box. I mean when I filter out the rows, I want to click the checkbox so that the rows filtered will be all selected; once I clean out filter, those selectedRows are still left so that I can add more rows into it with other filters.   I am trying to create a PDF using droidText library. There I want to place some text content in the middle of the page but align to left. I was unable to do with Paragraph class and setAlignment() method. So I have decided to use TextField class. • UISplitView show different views in the detail pane

  How can I change the view in the Details pane of the UISplitView so that its a completely different view? Im having a fair amount of trouble understanding how its all wired up and where things should go at the moment, could someone please enlighten me? What I would love to be able to do is to show a specific view based on what the user has selected in the UITableView on the left pane (this view could be an image, or a more complex view of a news article, etc... many different options) then when the user turns the iPad into portrait view, that view that was in the details pane changes to be its equivalent portrait view version. Does this make sense? How on earth would I do that? Just to brainstorm, here is what I was thinking: Create a Split View project Create 2 NIBs for each view: (with accompanying view controllers???) * PortraitNewsStory * LandscapeNewsStory * PortraitImageBrowser * LandscapeImageBrowser * etc... Create a UISplitView control using XCode Capture when a user rotates the iPad (should this be done in the RootViewController.m ?)   I'm trying to solve wordEnds from codingbat.com using regex. This is the simplest as I can make it with my current knowledge of regex: public String wordEnds(String str, String word) { return str.replaceAll( String.format( ".*?(?=%s)(?<=(.|^))%1$s(?=(.|$))|.+", java.util.regex.Pattern.quote(word) ), "$1$2" ); } String.format is used to inject word into the pattern for both readability and convenience (it's injected twice). Pattern.quote isn't necessary to pass their tests, but I think it's required for a proper regex-based solution. The regex has two major parts: If after matching as few characters as possible ".*?", word can still be found "(?=%s)", then lookbehind to capture any character immediately preceding it "(?<=(.|^))", match word "%1$s" and lookforward to capture any character following it "(?=(.|$))". The initial "if" test ensures that the atomic lookbehind captures only if there's a word Using lookahead to capture the following character doesn't consume it, so it can be used as part of further matching Otherwise match what's left "|.+" Groups 1 and 2 would capture empty strings I think this works in all cases, but it's obviously quite complex. I'm just wondering if others can suggest a simpler regex to do this. Note: I'm not looking for a solution using indexOf and a loop. I want a regex-based replaceAll solution. I also need a working solution that I can just copy-paste into codingbat and passes.

• We have multiple app servers running against a single database. How do I ensure that each row in a q

  We have about 7 app servers running .NET windows services that ping a single sql server 2005 queue table and fetch a fixed amount of records to process at fixed intervals. The amount of records to process and the amount of time between fetches are both configurable and are initially set to 100 and 30 seconds initially. Currently, my queue table has an int status column which can be either "Ready, Processing, Complete, Error". The proc that fetches the records has a sql transaction with the following code inside the transaction: 1) Fetch x number of records into temp table where the status is "Ready". The select uses a holdlock hint 2) Update the status on those records in the Queue table to "Processing" The .NET services do some processing that may take seconds or even minutes per record. Another proc is called per record that simply updates the status to "Complete". The update proc has no transaction as I'm leaning on the implicit transaction as part of the update clause here. I don't know the traffic exceptions for this but figure it will be under 10k records per day. Is this the best way to handle this scenario? If so, are there any details that I've left out, such as a hint here or there? Thanks! Dave

  This is a very minor behavior when compared with the entire scope, but it is one that I'd like to put a stop to. I have created a very, very simple SharePoint Feature. It has two elements in its manifest: an aspx webpart page, and an elements xml. I'll paraphrase my elements xml, which just adds a module, below. <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <Module Name="Pass" Url="" Path=""> <File Url="pasq.aspx" NavBarHome="True" Type="Ghostable"> <AllUsersWebPart WebPartZoneID="Left" WebPartOrder="0"> <![CDATA[ WARGH THIS PART DOESN'T MATTER FOR THIS QUESTION! ]]> </AllUsersWebPart> </File> </Module> </Elements> Now, on the first time I deploy and activate this feature, it works properly. But if I have to deactivate and then reactivate the feature in order to fix some properties in the webpart, then I find myself with a second webpart on the page. Naturally, each similar cycle will just add more and more. I understand that a new webpart must be created in order to employ the changes I just made, but why is the old webpart still on the page? Can I make this older webpart go away automatically as part of the feature activation/deactivation process without needing to employ a Receiver class?

  Looking at the Reactive Extensions for javascript demo on Jeff Van Gogh's blog, I thought I'd give it a try in C#/Winforms, but it doesn't seem to work so well.   I have some custom UITableViewCells that are made programmatically as needed, I want these to resize. • UIButton: how to center an image and a text using imageEdgeInsets and titleEdgeInsets?

  Hello, guys. If I put only an image in a button and set the imageEdgeInsets more close to the top, the image stays centered and all works as expected: [button setImage:image forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button setImageEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(-15.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0)]; If I put only a text in a button and set titleEdgeInsets more close to the bottom, the text stays centered and all works as expected: [distractionButton setTitle:title forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [distractionButton setTitleEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(0.0, 0.0, -30, 0.0)]; But, if i put the 4 lines together one interfere with other and both lost the center alignment. All my images has 30 pixels widht, and if i put 30 in the left parameter of UIEdgeInsetMake for setTitleEdgeInsets, the text is centered again. The problem is that the image never gets centered because appears that it is dependent of the button.titleLabel size. I already tried many calculations with button size, image size, titleLabel size and never get both perfectly centered. Someone already have the same problem? Thanks in advance.

• Customizing doxygen output for the HTML Table of Contents

  I'm using doxygen to generate an API reference from source code, aiming to convert it into a CHM help file and eventually into a plugin for Eclipse. Unfortunately the default ordering and nesting of the classes, namespaces, etc. in the Table of Contents is not exactly ideal and I'd prefer to customize it if possible. By default, doxygen creates two indexes/menus for navigating the generated documentation. One is the common Table of Contents on the left frame and the other is the row of buttons at the top of each individual HTML page. The latter can be comfortably customized by editing the layout xml file as described in doxygen manual (see section 'Changing the layout of pages') but so far I've seen no way to do similar modifications for the Table of Contents. To use a precise example, I'm looking for a way to nest the three standard topics Class List, Class Hierarchy, and Class Members as subtopics inside a parent topic in the TOC, as is done by default in the menu system that's located on top of every page. I'd imagine this is not the most unusual issue and may have a known solution available. Thanks for your assistance!

The relation "companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK" exists, as in Deals_SelectionChanged I can access companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK property of the Deals row, and I also can access the CompanyName propert of that row. Is the reason why this is not working because XAML binding uses the [] indexer? Rather than properties on the CompanyRows in my DataTable? At the moment im getting values such as - TGS - 3 - TGS - 4 What would be the best way to accomplish this? Make a converter to convert foreign keys using Table being referenced as custom parameter. Create Table View for each table? This would be long winded as I have quite a large number of tables that have foreign keys.

  This is probably a simple question but I am developing a web app in C# with DropDownList. Currently it is working for just one DropDownList. But now that I modified the code so that number of DropDownLists that should appear is dynamic, it gives me error; "The name 'ddl' does not exist in the current context." The reason for this error is that there a multiple instances of 'ddl' = number of counters. So how do I instead return more than one 'ddl'? Like what return type should this method have instead? And how do I return these values? • Status of VB6/ Best Desktop Application Language with Native Compliation

  Hi, I was looking for a Desktop Application Programming Language with one of the biggest constraint: - “ I need to output as native executable”. I explored multiple options: a) Java is not a very good option for desktop programming, but still you can use it. But Java to Exe is a problem. [Only GCJ and Excelsior-Jet provides this][1]. b) .Net platform does not support native compilation. Only very few expensive tools are available which can do the job. c) Python is not an option for native compilation. Right? d) VB6 is the option I am left with. From the above list, if I am correct, VB6 is the only and probably the best option I have. But VB6 itself has issues like: a) It is no more under development since 2003. b) There are questions on support of VB6 IDE with Vista. Thus my questions are: a) From the list of programming language options, do you want to add any more? b) If VB6 is good/best option, looking at its development status, would you suggest using VB6 in this era?   I made the following test for my class: var mock = new Mock<IRandomNumberGenerator>(); mock.Setup(framework => framework.Generate(0, 50)) .Returns(7.0) var rnac = new RandomNumberAverageCounter(mock.Object, 1, 100); rnac.Run(); double result = rnac.GetAverage(); Assert.AreEqual(result, 7.0, 0.1); The problem here was that I changed my mind about what range of values Generate(int min, int max) would use. I ran the test and it failed. I know that that is what it's supposed to happen but I was left wondering if isn't there a way to launch an exception or throw in a message when trying to run the method params. Also, if I want to run this Generate() method 10 times with different values (let's say, from 1 to 10), will I have to make 10 mock setups or something, or is there a special method for it? The best I could think of is this (which isn't bad, I'm just asking if there is other better way): for (int i = 1; i < 10; ++i) { mock.Setup(framework => framework.Generate(1, 100)) .Returns((double)i); } Thanks

  In Delphi 2007 you can store a UTF8 string in a WideString and then pass that onto a Win32 function, e.g. var UnicodeStr: WideString; UTF8Str: WideString; begin UnicodeStr:='some unicode text'; UTF8Str:=UTF8Encode(UnicodeStr); Windows.SomeFunction(PWideChar(UTF8Str), ...) end; Delphi 2007 does not interfere with the contents of UTF8Str, i.e. it is left as a UTF8 encoded string stored in a WideString. But in Delphi 2010 I'm struggling to find a way to do the same thing, i.e. store a UTF8 encoded string in a WideString without it being automatically converted from UTF8. I cannot pass a pointer to UTF8 string (or RawByteString), e.g. the following will obviously not work: var UnicodeStr: WideString; UTF8Str: UTF8String; begin UnicodeStr:='some unicode text'; UTF8Str:=UTF8Encode(UnicodeStr); Windows.SomeFunction(PWideChar(UTF8Str), ...) end; Any help appreciated. • How do I get my custom WPF textbox to fill correctly?

  I am trying to create a custom WPF textbox control that extends the standard textbox control but the extended textbox behaves differently when placed in control containers. Within my Window I have a stackpanel with a standard textbox and my extended textbox: <StackPanel Margin="10"> <TextBox Height="21" /> <l:SearchTextBox Search="SearchTextBox_Search" Height="21" Margin="0, 10, 0, 0" SearchMode="Delayed" HorizontalAlignment="Left" /> </StackPanel> The standard textbox stretches the length of the StackPanel whereas the custom textbox does not. How can I get the controls to behave the same? • Indentation annoyance with CSS in Vim

  I've moved from TextMate to Vim lately, and am really liking the switch. However, I have an itch regarding the way Vim handles indentation within curly braces using the CSS syntax. I use simple_pairs.vim, which may or may not have something to do with my problem, but I don't think so, as things work fine in PHP, JavaScript, etc. Let me explain… I generally group my CSS rules by context using indentation, like so: ul#nav { margin: 10px; } ul#nav li { float: left; margin-right: 4px; } That means when I type my ul#nav li rule, followed by { (which inserts a corresponding } automatically) and hit enter, I want the closing brace to be at the same indentation level as the ul#…, but instead I get something like this: ul#nav { margin: 10px; } ul#nav li { } So I have to indent the extra step(s) manually. Like I said, doing the same thing in PHP, JavaScript, etc, works fine. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I don't understand enough of Vim's syntax definition files for me to be able to figure out what in the PHP syntax file makes it work, and port it over to the CSS one… Thanks.

• WPF MVVM Picklist Example

  Hi, I am looking for a way of easily maintaining a list of Users belonging to a particular Group. I have thought about using a Picklist, where I have 2 listboxs, the first contains a list of Users the second a list of Users belonging to the Group. There will be buttons to allow the adding and removing of selected Users from the Group. As users are added they move from the left listbox to the right, as they are removed they are move from the right to the list. This is pretty common situation. Do you know of any examples of doing this in WPF using the MVVM pattern? I am having difficulty understand how the binding may work to my View Model and Business Entities. Especially persisting the data back to the database. I am using stored procedure calls to do the CRUD logic, so I need to keep a list of which Users had been removed so I can delete them. Is this the best way to perform this functionality or is there a better way. I simply want to pick from a list (the list may be large).
