    - by saran
    I am trying to export the HTML page contents to Word. My Html display page is: What is your favourite color? NA List the top three school ? one National two Devs three PS And a button for click event. The button click event will open MS word and paste the page contents in word. The word page contains the table property of html design page. It occurs only in Word 2003. But in word 2007 the word document contains the text with out table property. How can I remove this table property in word 2003. I am not able to add the snapshots. Else i will make you clear. I am designing the web page by aspx. I am exporting the web page content by the following code. protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF7; System.Text.StringBuilder SB = new System.Text.StringBuilder(); System.IO.StringWriter SW = new System.IO.StringWriter(); System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter htmlTW = new System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(SW); tbl.RenderControl(htmlTW); string strBody = "<html>" + "<body>" + "<div><b>" + htmlTW.InnerWriter.ToString() + "</b></div>" + "</body>" + "</html>"; Response.AppendHeader("Content-Type", "application/msword"); Response.AppendHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileName); Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF7; string fileName1 = "C://Temp/Excel" + DateTime.Now.Millisecond.ToString(); BinaryWriter writer = new BinaryWriter(File.Open(fileName1, FileMode.Create)); writer.Write(strBody); writer.Close(); FileStream fs = new FileStream(fileName1, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); byte[] renderedBytes; // Create a byte array of file stream length renderedBytes = new byte[fs.Length]; //Read block of bytes from stream into the byte array fs.Read(renderedBytes, 0, System.Convert.ToInt32(fs.Length)); //Close the File Stream fs.Close(); FileInfo TheFile = new FileInfo(fileName1); if (TheFile.Exists) { File.Delete(fileName1); } Response.BinaryWrite(renderedBytes); Response.Flush(); Response.End(); }

  • Is it impossible to secure .net code (intellectual property) ?

    - by JL
I used to work in JavaScript a lot and one thing that really bothered my employers was that the source code was too easy to steal. Even with obfuscation, nothing really helped, because we all knew that any competent developer would be able to read that code if they wanted to. JS Scripts are one thing, but what about SOA projects that have millions invested in IP (Intellectual Property). I love .net, and especially C#, but I recently again had to answer the question "If we give this compiled program over to our clients, can their developers reverse engineer it?" I had gone out of my way to obfuscate the code, but I knew it wouldn't take that much for another determined C# developer to get at the code. So I earnestly pose the question, is it impossible to secure .net code? The considerations I have as as follows: Even regular native executables can be reversed, but not every developer has the skill to be able to do this. Its a lot harder to disassemble a native executable than a .net assembly. Obfuscation will only get you so far, but it does help a little. Why have I never seen any public acknowledgement by Microsoft that anything written in .net is subject to relatively easy IP theft? Why have I never seen a scrap of counter measure training on any Microsoft site? Why does VS come with a community obfuscater as an optional component? Ok maybe I have just had my head in the sand here, but its not exactly high on most developers priority list. Are there any plans to address my concerns in any future version of .net? I'm not knocking .net, but I would like some realistic answers, thank you, question marked as subjective and community!

  • wpf & validation application block > message localization > messageTemplateResource Name&Type

    - by Shaboboo
I'm trying to write validation rules for my data objects in a WPF application. I'm writing them in the configuration file, and so far they are working fine. I'm stumped on how to localize the messages using messageTemplateResourceName and messageTemplateResourceType. What I know is that the strings can be writen in a resource file, given a name and referenced by that name. I get the idea, but i haven't been able to make this work. <ruleset name="Rule Set"> <properties> <property name="StringValue"> <validator lowerBound="0" lowerBoundType="Ignore" upperBound="25" upperBoundType="Inclusive" negated="false" messageTemplate="" messageTemplateResourceName="msg1" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources" tag="" type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Validation.Validators.StringLengthValidator, Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Validation" name="String Length Validator" /> </property> </properties> </ruleset> Where is the resource file and what value do I pass to messageTemplateResourceType? I have tried writing the messages in the shell project's resource file but no sucess trying to retrieve the value. I only get the default built-in message. I've tried messageTemplateResourceType="typeof(Resources)" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources.resx" messageTemplateResourceType="typeof(Shell)" messageTemplateResourceType="Shell" messageTemplateResourceType="Shell, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" I've also tried adding a new resource file in the shell project, and adding a resource file to the data object's library. I'm all out of ideas Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not even married to the idea of resource files, so if there are other ways to localize these messages I'd love to know! thanks

  • Authenticate domain-user credentials on unjoined virtual machine?

    - by bwerks
Hi all, This question may sound silly, and perhaps a bit insane, but--is there any way to run a process on a machine not joined to a domain using credentials from a user in that domain? In my case, I'm running virtual machines installed with release binaries from our build process, as well as Visual Studio. Visual Studio is there to debug our release binaries, however it's being executed with vm-local user credentials. This means that it can't authenticate to our TFS deployment when executing "tf.exe view" to utilize our Source Server for debugging. Team Explorer manages to authenticate to TFS using a UI prompt, however I suspect that it's because we supply it with the TFS deployment's URI, and it's designed to display a prompt to facilitate workgroup scenarios; i.e. it's not like we're getting it for free. My instincts tell me the only way to authenticate on this vm is to join it or somehow form a one-way trust or something, but is there an easier way? For automation we're going to want to script this eventually, but I'm first surveying the feasibility of the thing.

  • Android: roatating images in a loop.

    - by user573736
Hello, I am trying with no success to modify the code example from: http://www.inter-fuser.com/2009/08/android-animations-3d-flip.html so it will rotate the images in a loop, when clicking on the image once. (second click should pause). I tried using Handler and threading but cannot update the view since only the main thread can update UI. Exception I get from the code below: android.view.ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException: Only the original thread that created a view hierarchy can touch its views. [in 'image1.startAnimation(rotation);' ('applyRotation(0, 90);' from the main thread)] package com.example.flip3d; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.animation.AccelerateInterpolator; import android.widget.ImageView; public class Flip3d extends Activity { private ImageView image1; private ImageView image2; private boolean isFirstImage = true; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); image1 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image01); image2 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image02); image2.setVisibility(View.GONE); image1.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { if (isFirstImage) { applyRotation(0, 90); isFirstImage = !isFirstImage; } else { applyRotation(0, -90); isFirstImage = !isFirstImage; } } }); } private void applyRotation(float start, float end) { // Find the center of image final float centerX = image1.getWidth() / 2.0f; final float centerY = image1.getHeight() / 2.0f; // Create a new 3D rotation with the supplied parameter // The animation listener is used to trigger the next animation final Flip3dAnimation rotation = new Flip3dAnimation(start, end, centerX, centerY); rotation.setDuration(500); rotation.setFillAfter(true); rotation.setInterpolator(new AccelerateInterpolator()); rotation.setAnimationListener(new DisplayNextView(isFirstImage, image1, image2)); if (isFirstImage) { image1.startAnimation(rotation); } else { image2.startAnimation(rotation); } } } How can I manage to update the UI and control the rotation within onClick listener? Thank you, Oakist

  • How to get an enum value from an assembly using late binding in C#

    - by tetranz
Hello I have a C# 3.0 WinForms application which is occasionally required to control Excel with automation. This is working nicely with normal early binding but I've had some problems when people don't have Excel installed but still want to use my app except for the Excel part. Late binding seems to be a solution to this. Late binding is rather tedious in C# 3 but I'm not doing anything particularly difficult. I'm following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302902 as a starter and it's working out well. My question is how can I use an enum by name? e.g, how can I use reflection to get the value of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.XlFileFormat.xlTextWindows so that I can use it an InvokeMethod call? I know the easiest way is probably to create my own local enum with the same "magic" integer value but it would be nicer to be able to access it by name. The docs often don't list the value so to get it I probably need to have a little early bound test app that can tell me the value. Thanks

  • How to remove the "button" effect for a menu item (WPF)

    - by Sorin Comanescu
    Hi, When the mouse is over a menu item (first level) it displays a 3D button effect. How can this be removed? Thanks. EDIT: Tried <Style TargetType="MenuItem"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="Transparent"> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="0"> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> with no effect. The menu XAML: <Window x:Class="UCWPF.Window3" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:conv="clr-namespace:UCWPF.Converters" Title="Window3" Height="600" Width="600" Background="{StaticResource WindowBackgroundBrush}" > <StackPanel Style="{StaticResource WindowContainerStyle}"> <Menu> <MenuItem Header="New" Icon="{StaticResource ImageExport}" /> <MenuItem Header="Open" Icon="{StaticResource ImageOpen}" /> <MenuItem Header="Save" Icon="{StaticResource ImageSave}" /> <MenuItem Header="Export" Icon="{StaticResource ImageExport}" /> </Menu> ... • Changing label color based on current label color in iPhone dev

    - by Matt Thomas
I am having trouble figuring out the if statement code for changing the color of a UI label based on the current color of the label. For instance, if the label color is currently red and the correct button is pressed, I want the label color to change to black. If the label color is black I want the label color to change to blue. Many thanks for any tips.

  • WCF service reference namespace differs from original

    - by Thorarin
I'm having a problem regarding namespaces used by my service references. I have a number of WCF services, say with the namespace MyCompany.Services.MyProduct (the actual namespaces are longer). As part of the product, I'm also providing a sample C# .NET website. This web application uses the namespace MyCompany.MyProduct. During initial development, the service was added as a project reference to the website and uses directly. I used a factory pattern that returns an object instance that implements MyCompany.Services.MyProduct.IMyService. So far, so good. Now I want to change this to use an actual service reference. After adding the reference and typing MyCompany.Services.MyProduct in the namespace textbox, it generates classes in the namespace MyCompany.MyProduct.MyCompany.Services.MyProduct. BAD! I don't want to have to change using directives in several places just because I'm using a proxy class. So I tried prepending the namespace with global::, but that is not accepted. Note that I hadn't even deleted the original assembly references yet, and "reuse types" is enabled, but no reusing was done, apparently. However, I don't want to keep the assembly references around in my sample website for it to work anyway. The only solution I've come up with so far is setting the default namespace for my web application to MyCompany (because it cannot be empty), and adding the service reference as Services.MyProduct. Suppose that a customer wants to use my sample website as a starting point, and they change the default namespace to OtherCompany.Whatever, this will obviously break my workaround. Is there a good solution to this problem? To summarize: I want to generate a service reference proxy in the original namespace, without referencing the assembly. Note: I have seen this question, but there was no solution provided that is acceptable for my use case. Edit: As John Saunders suggested, I've submitted some feedback to Microsoft about this: Feedback item @ Microsoft Connect

  • MVC pattern implementation. What is the n-relation between its components

    - by Srodriguez
Dear all, I'm working in a C# project and we are , in order to get some unity across the different parts of our UI, trying to use the MVC pattern. The client is windows form based and I'm trying to create a simple MVC pattern implementation. It's been more challenging than expected, but I still have some questions regarding the MVC pattern. The problem comes mostly from the n-n relationships between its components: Here is what I've understood, but I'm not sure at all of it. Maybe someone can correct me? Model: can be shared among different Views. 1-n relationship between Model-View View: shows the state of the model. only one controller (can be shared among different views?). 1-1 relationship with the Model, 1-1 relationship with the controller Controller: handles the user actions on the view and updates the model. One controller can be shared among different views, a controller interacts only with one model? I'm not sure about the two last ones: Can a view have several controller? Or can a view share a controller with another view? Or is it only a 1:1 relationship? Can a controller handle several views? can it interact with several models? Also, I take advantage of this question to ask another MVC related question. I've suppressed all the synchronous calls between the different members of the MVC, making use of the events and delegates. One last call is still synchronous and is actually the most important one: The call between the view and the controller is still synchronous, as I need to know rather the controller has been able to handle the user's action or not. This is very bad as it means that I could block the UI thread (hence the client itself) while the controller is processing or doing some work. How can I avoid this? I can make use of the callback but then how do i know to which event the callback comes from? PS: I can't change the pattern at this stage, so please avoid answers of type "use MVP or MVVC, etc ;) Thanks!

  • Fast sketching tools for drawing C/C++ structs, pointers, etc...

    - by tomasorti
Hi. I would like to know what do you use to sketch relations between different entities in C/C++. This can be a very broad issue, so I'll try to clarify a bit more my question and give an example. I'm looking for something that is simple enough as a user, and let me sketch easily containers, pointers, etc... in an informal way. The aim is to document some structs relations to pass them to junior developers. A look at the drawings is supposed to accelerate the understanding of the code. My solutions at this moment are to use: 1) Paper & pencil. 2) Microsoft PowerPoint/Word Autoshapes. 3) Freeware Dia. Other ones could be: 4) Microsoft Visio, but my company does not own licenses. 5) UML tools. I don't want to go this way. This is what I mean a more formal solution. I know tools like Rational Rose are great, and I tried boUML and violet and they are fine in some parts, but I prefer the flexibility of options 2) or 3). Finally, let me write down a more concrete example: Let's say I what to sketch a map that contains another map as the mapped value, and that one contains a struct as the mapped value, that holds a vector of pointers of a type and a pointer to other type. Also, there exist other structs that hold pointers to the objects pointed by the previous map, so there are objects pointed from different places. This is just one example I have, but you can easily come with one from you experience. What would you use to sketch this example or another similar you have dealt with? Best regards, Tomas.

  • Ruby on Rails: jQuery datepicker - dates between validation

    - by Jazz
I have an app that allows a user to create new projects, and the search for them later. One of the options they have when creating a project is giving them start and end dates. At the moment all the code works properly for creating and searching on the dates, but I am now wanting to restrict what dates the user can enter. I am needing for an error to flag up when the user tries to enter an end date that is before the start date. It's really more for when the user is creating the project. Here is my code so far = Application.js //= require jquery //= require jquery_ujs //= require jquery-ui //= require jquery.ui.all //= require_tree . $(function() { $("#project_start_date").datepicker({dateFormat: 'dd-mm-yy'}); }); $(function() { $("#project_end_date").datepicker({dateFormat: 'dd-mm-yy'}); }); jQuery(function(){ jQuery('#start_date_A').datepicker({dateFormat: "dd-mm-yy"}); }); jQuery(function(){ jQuery('#start_date_B').datepicker({dateFormat: "dd-mm-yy"}); }); New View: <div class="start_date" STYLE="text-align: left;"> <b>Start Date:</b> <%= f.text_field :start_date, :class => 'datepicker', :style => 'width: 80px;' %> </div> <div class="end_date" STYLE="text-align: left;"> <b>End Date:</b> <%= f.text_field :end_date, :class => 'datepicker', :style => 'width: 80px;' %> </div> Search View: Start dates between <%= text_field_tag :start_date_A, params[:start_date_A], :style => 'width: 80px;' %> - <%= text_field_tag :start_date_B, params[:start_date_B], :style => 'width: 80px;' %></br> I tried following examples online to get this to work by doing this in the application.js file: $(function() { $("#project_start_date,#project_end_date").datepicker({dateFormat: 'dd-mm-yy'}); }); jQuery(function(){ jQuery('#start_date_A,#start_date_B').datepicker({dateFormat: "dd-mm-yy"}); }); But then the script doesn't run. I am new to rails and javascript so any help at all is appreciated. Thanks in advance. UPDATE: Don't know why my question has been voted to be closed. It's quite simple: I need an error to flag up when the user tries to enter an end date that is before the start date. How can I do that??

  • Is it possible to access a running instance of an app using JNA/JNI?

    - by Carlos Blanco
I'm writing a test engine for a Java application that has some of the code written in C. This application uses JNI to access it's native part. In the engine I'm writing, I use Fest to control de UI and perform the tests. However, I,m blind when dealing with the part that is written in C. I wonder if I can use JNA or JNI to access the native part of the app. I believe that the fact that the application is already running is huge issue here.

  • VB - Convert Web Site to Web Application

    - by Dave
    Hi This is my first time doing VB :-) I've inherited a web site, which I've converted into a web application in VS2008. The conversion has worked for everything except a Gallery control. The compile error I'm getting is: Type 'Gallery' is not defined in file: gallery_oct07.aspx.designer.vb Option Strict On Option Explicit On Partial Public Class gallery_oct07 '''<summary> '''Gallery1 control. '''</summary> '''<remarks> '''Auto-generated field. '''To modify move field declaration from designer file to code-behind file. '''</remarks> Protected WithEvents Gallery1 As Global.Gallery End Class with squiggly lines under Global.Gallery. The gallery_oct07.aspx.vb is: Partial Class gallery_oct07 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page End Class Gallery.ascx is: <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" Codebehind="Gallery.ascx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.Gallery"%> <asp:Repeater runat="server" ID="rptGallery"> <HeaderTemplate> <ul class='<%#CssClass%>'> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <li><a href='<%#ImageFolder + Eval("Name") %>' class="thickbox" rel="gallery"><img src='<%#ImageFolder + "thumb/" + Eval("Name") %>' /></a></li> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> </ul></FooterTemplate> </asp:Repeater> and the code behind is: using System; using System.IO; namespace WebApplication1 { public partial class Gallery : System.Web.UI.UserControl { public string _ImageFolder; public string ImageFolder { get { return _ImageFolder; } set { _ImageFolder = value; } } private string _cssClass = "gallery"; public string CssClass { get { return _cssClass; } set { _cssClass = value; } } protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { DirectoryInfo dir = new DirectoryInfo(MapPath(ImageFolder)); FileInfo[] images = dir.GetFiles("*.jpg"); rptGallery.DataSource = images; rptGallery.DataBind(); } protected void Page_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e) { } } } The feels like a namespace issue.. My project namespace is WebApplication1. Cheers!

  • How to use VBA to colour pie chart

    - by Timon Heinomann
I have the following code in which the code tries to create a bubble chart with pie charts as the bubbles. As in this version colour themes are used to create a different colour in each pie chart (bulbble) in the function part I have the problem that it works depending on the paths to the colour paletts. Is there an easy way to make the function in a way that it works independently of those paths either by coding a colour for each pie chart segment or by using standardize paths (probably not possible, not preferable). Sub PieMarkers() Dim chtMarker As Chart Dim chtMain As Chart Dim intPoint As Integer Dim rngRow As Range Dim lngPointIndex As Long Dim thmColor As Long Dim myTheme As String Application.ScreenUpdating = False Set chtMarker = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("chtMarker").Chart Set chtMain = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("chtMain").Chart Set chtMain = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("chtMain").Chart Set rngRow = Range(ThisWorkbook.Names("PieChartValues").RefersTo) For Each rngRow In Range("PieChartValues").Rows chtMarker.SeriesCollection(1).Values = rngRow ThisWorkbook.Theme.ThemeColorScheme.Load GetColorScheme(thmColor) chtMarker.Parent.CopyPicture xlScreen, xlPicture lngPointIndex = lngPointIndex + 1 chtMain.SeriesCollection(1).Points(lngPointIndex).Paste thmColor = thmColor + 1 Next lngPointIndex = 0 Application.ScreenUpdating = True End Sub Function GetColorScheme(i As Long) As String Const thmColor1 As String = "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Document Themes 15\Theme Colors\Blue Green.xml" Const thmColor2 As String = "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Document Themes 15\Theme Colors\Orange Red.xml" Select Case i Mod 2 Case 0 GetColorScheme = thmColor1 Case 1 GetColorScheme = thmColor2 End Select End Function The code copies a single chart again and again on the bubbles. So I woudl like to alter the Function (now called Get colourscheme) into a fucntion that assigns a a unqiue rgb colour to each segment of each pie chart

  • SQL Server Constraints Across Tables

    - by chama
I have a SQL Server database with an Apartment table (which has columns FloorNum and BuildingID) and an ApartmentBuilding table (with column NumFloors). Is there any way to set up a constraint (using the SQL Server UI) to check that Apartment.FloorNum is greater than ApartmentBuilding.NumFloors? I tried this: FloorNum > ApartmentBuilding.NumFloors but now I realize that I somehow have to join the columns on the BuildingID, but I have no idea how to do that within a constraint. Thanks for your help!

  • Referencing CDI producer method result in h:selectOneMenu

    - by user953217
I have a named session scoped bean CustomerRegistration which has a named producer method getNewCustomer which returns a Customer object. There is also CustomerListProducer class which produces all customers as list from the database. On the selectCustomer.xhtml page the user is then able to select one of the customers and submit the selection to the application which then simply prints out the last name of the selected customer. Now this only works when I reference the selected customer on the facelets page via #{customerRegistration.newCustomer}. When I simply use #{newCustomer} then the output for the last name is null whenever I submit the form. What's going on here? Is this the expected behavior as according to chapter 7.1 Restriction upon bean instantion of JSR-299 spec? It says: ... However, if the application directly instantiates a bean class, instead of letting the container perform instantiation, the resulting instance is not managed by the container and is not a contextual instance as defined by Section 6.5.2, “Contextual instance of a bean”. • Releasing Excel after using Interop

    - by figus
Hi everyone I've read many post looking for my answer, but all are similar to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1610743/reading-excel-files-in-vb-net-leaves-excel-process-hanging My problem is that I don't quit the app... The idea is this: If a User has Excel Open, if he has the file I'm interested in open... get that Excel instance and do whatever I want to do... But I don't to close his File after I'm done... I want him to keep working on it, the problem is that when he closes Excel... The process keeps running... and running... and running after the user closes Excel with the X button... this is how I try to do it This piece is used to know if he has Excel open, and in the For I check for the file name I'm interested in. Try oApp = GetObject(, "Excel.Application") libroAbierto = True For Each libro As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Workbook In oApp.Workbooks If libro.Name = EquipoASeccionIdSeccion.Text & ".xlsm" Then Exit Try End If Next libroAbierto = False Catch ex As Exception oApp = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application End Try here would be my code... if he hasn't Excel open, I create a new instance, open the file and everything else. My code ends with this: If Not libroAbierto Then libroSeccion.Close(SaveChanges:=True) oApp.Quit() Else oApp.UserControl = True libroSeccion.Save() End If System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(libroOriginal) System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(libroSeccion) System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(origen) System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(copiada) System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(oApp) libroOriginal = Nothing libroSeccion = Nothing oApp = Nothing origen = Nothing copiada = Nothing nuevosGuardados = True So you can see that, if I opened the file, I call oApp.Quit() and everything else and the Excel Process ends after a few seconds (maybe 5 aprox.) BUT if I mean the user to keep the file open (not calling Quit()), Excel process keeps running after the user closes Excel with the X button. Is there any way to do what I try to do?? Control a open instance of excel and releasing everything so when the user closes it with the X button, the Excel Process dies normally??? Thanks!!!

  • Question about Reporting and Data Warehousing Software bundled with SQL Server 2005

    - by anonymous user
We currently use SQL Server 2005 Enterprise for our fairly large application, that has its roots in pre SQL Server 7.0. The tables are normalized and designed mainly for the application. The developers for the most part have the legacy SQL Server mindset. Only using the part of TSQL that existed back in 7.0, not using any of the new features of tsql or that are bundled with 2005. We're currently trying to build on demand reports using some crappy third party software, and will eventually try to build a data warehouse using more of the same crappy third party software (name removed to protect the guilty, don't ask I will not tell). The rationale for this was that we didn't want to spend more money to buy this additional software from Microsoft (this was not my decision, I had no input, but is my problem now). But from what I can tell is that Enterprise includes all of these tools, or am I missing something? What comes bundled with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise as far as reporting and data warehousing? Will we need to purchase anything else? is there actually anything else that can be purchased from Microsoft in this regard?
