• How create widget with clickable text in QT/PyQt?

  Hi everyone, i'm trying to realize non-editable QTableView with widgets in cells that should contain clickable listed text. With following code i'm setting widget in definite cell: view = QTableView() label = QLabel( <some html text> ) ... view.setIndexWidget(index, label) I used html to make label's text clickable, but links became blue with underline and moreover by clicking on it with right mouse button appears popup menu with "Copy Link Locaion" option, where i wanted to place some hidden information instead of url and of course do not let user see this info. I'm looking for light-weight widget, i thought that insertion of QGraphicsView in each cell will lead to big computer loads, but can't think of any other solution. Can you advice what should i use for this purpose? Thank you in advance Serge

I want to perform the inverse: creation of a string from an integer. i.e. I want some function int2base(num,base) such that: int( int2base( X , BASE ) , BASE ) == X the function name/argument order is unimportant For any number X and base BASE that int() will accept. This is an easy function to write -- in fact easier than describing it in this question -- however, I feel like I must be missing something. • Semi-transparent PNG Image on transparent Form

  Hello, I have a problem dealing with transparent images on transparent Forms. I have been trying and looking for a solution but nothing useful came up. The problem is: I have a Form, this Form has a Panel and the Panel has a PictureBox. Form and Panel are transparent. Now, if the image of the PictureBox has no semi-transparent it works. But if there is a gradient transparency then the "transparent color" is shown. I need the Panel and the PictureBox, so the PerPixelAlpha does not apply for this case. The Form will also have more Controls that should be visible and non transparent (just the PNG image should be transparent). The image below shows: [Left] When the Panel is not transparent.   Im trying to bind a list with datetime objects to my repeater. if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item) { DateTime actualDate = e.Item.DataItem as DateTime; } When I want access the itemdatabound event on the repeater Then I get an errormessage which says that DateTime is a valuetype and not a reference type. My solution is that a wrap the datetime in a custom object (reference type) and pass that to the repeater datasource instead of the datetime. But Im wondering if there are other solutions where the repeater takes valuetypes (DateTime objects)........

  On a MVC 2 website what I want to do is get a list of products / CategoryId. From that list, create a list of distinct CategoryId's. Then randomly pick a categoryId from the second list and use it to get all the products for that categoryId. I then want to store that CategoryId so that I don't display those products on the next run. I don't need any code examples to start. What I'm wondering is that I think I would put this code in a class in my model (Dll) and store the list of displayed CategoryId's in session. Is this a good solution or should I go another way?   Hi! I want to populate a star schema / cube in SSIS / SSAS. I prepared all my dimension tables and my fact table, primary keys etc. The source is a 'flat' (item level) table and my problem is now how to split it up and get it from one into the respective tables. I did a fair bit of googling but couldn't find a satisfying solution to the problem. One would imagine that this is a rather common problem/situation in BI development?! Thanks, alexl

  Hi all, I'm having trouble coming up with a solution for the following problem and i was wondering if someone here would help me out. I need to pull a list of supplies from a db table and list them along with two textboxes (one for quantity, and another for manufacturer) so the list would look something like this. checkbox for supply 1 | Quantity | Manufacturer checkbox for supply 2 | Quantity | Manufacturer .. I also need to store all of the checked items in a db table. I'm not sure how i should go about doing this. I've heard some talk about a repeater control being useful but i've not come across any examples that do this type of thing. Thanks in advance

• Android: No icon for Notification

  Hello, I wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view. Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.

  So I would like to parse a binary file and extract some data from it. The problem I am facing with this is that I need to convert a stream of chars to a stream of unsigned chars. Reading the boost documentation, it seems that boost::iostreams::code_converter should be the solution for this, so I tried this: typedef unsigned char uint8_t; typedef boost::iostreams::stream<boost::iostreams::code_converter< boost::iostreams::basic_array_source<uint8_t> >, std::codecvt<uint8_t, char, std::mbstate_t> > array_stream; The idea was to specify a codecvt with InternalType=uint8_t and ExternalType=char. Unfortunately this does not compile. So the question is: how do I convert a stream of chars to a stream of uint8_ts?

  Using scons I can easily set my include paths: env.Append( CPPPATH=['foo'] ) This passes the flag -Ifoo to gcc However I'm trying to compile with a lot of warnings enabled. In particular with env.Append( CPPFLAGS=['-Werror', '-Wall', '-Wextra'] ) which dies horribly on certain boost includes ... I can fix this by adding the boost includes to the system include path rather than the include path as gcc treats system includes differently. So what I need to get passed to gcc instead of -Ifoo is -isystem foo I guess I could do this with the CPPFLAGS variable, but was wondering if there was a better solution built into scons.

• Issues with Ext-JS 1.1 date fields and Firefox 3.x / IE 8

  I'm modifying an older website for a client that uses Ext-JS 1.1 and I'm having issues with display of date fields in IE and particularly Firefox. The site was left in a semi-implemented state previously, so there's not been a perceived problem before. In Chrome and Safari everything looks fine and the datepicker drops down and displays correctly. However in Firefox the picker is displayed widened to cover the maximum scrollable brower width (very wide indeed), and in IE it's truncated to about two thirds of the width it should be. I am somewhat uncertain that this is due to our css, but because Chrome and Safari work fine I think it might be a problem with Ext-js itself. I realise that this is an old version of Ext-JS, but because everything else works fine I don't want to go to the trouble of upgrading unless that would be very straightforward (but how difficult would that be?) I don't myself use ExtJS and this is the only website my client has with it - so I'm really looking for the simplest possible solution.

  Hi heres a part from my XML for LAND format: <TableLayout android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" android:stretchColumns="*"> <TableRow> <Button android:id="@+id/countbutton" android:text="@string/plus1"/> <Button android:id="@+id/resetbutton" android:text="@string/reset" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> And now what I dont get - the WIDTH of one row and also of the button depends on the TEXT inside the button. If the both texts are equaly long lets say : TEXT its ok - the table half is in the middle of the screen. But if they have different size - lets say "A" and "THIS IS THE LONG BUTTON" the CENTER of the table isnt in the middle of the screen anymore and so the buttons are not equally width... • Extracting information from PDFs of research papers

  I need a mechanism for extracting bibliographic metadata from PDF documents, to save people entering it by hand or cut-and-pasting it. At the very least, the title and abstract. The list of authors and their affiliations would be good. Extracting out the references would be amazing. Ideally this would be an open source solution. The problem is that not all PDF's encode the text, and many which do fail to preserve the logical order of the text, so just doing pdf2text gives you line 1 of column 1, line 1 of column 2, line 2 of column 1 etc. I know there's a lot of libraries. It's identifying the abstract, title authors etc. on the document that I need to solve. This is never going to be possible every time, but 80% would save a lot of human effort.

  I'm trying to create a Gradient Brush in windows mobile as follows: HBITMAP hBitmap = CreateBitmap(16, 16, 1, 16, NULL); HDC hDC = CreateCompatibleDC(NULL); HBITMAP hPrevious = SelectObject(hDC,hBitmap); TRIVERTEX vert[2]; GRADIENT_RECT gRect; ... fill in vert and gRect GradientFill(hDC, vert, 2,&gRect, 1, Direction); SelectObject(hDC, hPrevious); Delete(hDC); HBRUSH hPatternBrush = CreatePatternBrush(hBitmap); HDC hDC = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps); SelectObject(hDC, hPatternBrush); RoundRect(hDC, ...); EndPaint(hWND, &ps); This code create a round rect with a black background, not the pattern brush. I can draw the hBitmap which is used to create the brush and it draws the gradient. Anyone got a solution?

• How to prevent HTTP 304 in Django test server

  I have a couple of projects in Django and alternate between one and another every now and then. All of them have a /media/ path, which is served by django.views.static.serve, and they all have a /media/css/base.css file. The problem is, whenever I run one project, the requests to base.css return an HTTP 304 (not modified), probably because the timestamp hasn't changed. But when I run the other project, the same 304 is returned, making the browser use the file cached by the previous project (and therefore, using the wrong stylesheet). Just for the record, here are the middleware classes: MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( 'django.middleware.common.CommonMiddleware', 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware', 'django.contrib.auth.middleware.AuthenticationMiddleware', 'django.middleware.transaction.TransactionMiddleware', ) I always use the default address http://localhost:8000. Is there another solution (other than using different ports - 8001, 8002, etc.)?

I'm using Xenocode Virtual Application Studio(version 6.1). Everything works fine except the .sdf file which I have embedded inside the application directory. actually in the application the instead of SQL server i have used SQL Compact edition(3.5) and i have included the reqired dll . All the files are working except the ".sdf" file. Any idea y is that so? Is it because the ".sdf" file is being used when the xenocode after snapshot was taken? if so what is the solution for that? i cannot avoid using it because Xenocode's after snapshot will not recognise the application if it's not running and if I run the application ".sdf" file will be used. Anyway to solve this?

  Hi all, I have a UITableView in iPhone with enough cell to make it scrollable. I would like to have a subview display whenever I click on a cell, rather than using the navigation controller behaviour. The problem is that I cannot calculate the CGRect exactly to have the subview always centered in page, because the CGRect is calculated from top of table, and if I scroll table and click cell, the subview will be added out of screen. The solution could be easy, but I don't know if it's possible: identify the portion of the current viewable area of the UITableView and obtain in some way the frame and therefore origin and size, then build a subview based on such coordinates. Do you think it's possible without writing not too much code ? thanks Leonardo

  I'm building an application in Hibernate, Spring and JSF2 using only annotations. How can I take advantage of OpenSessionInViewInterceptor found in Spring to catch any hibernate session that might open within a bean? I'm trying to elegantly solve the common “failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: your.Class.assocation no session or session was closed.” problem when trying to read from a yet uninitialized list of POJOs inside another POJO (A Tag entity retrieved by a DAO that contains a List of Project objects I want to read).   It seems like a simple task. Create a C# class that derives from ToolStripButton. The derived ToolStripButton should behave exactly the same as the parent class in the designer and the application, except that the default image should be different. Surprisingly just changing the constructor is not sufficient: public CustomToolStripButton() { base.Image = (Image) new Bitmap(typeof(CustomToolStripButton), "CustomImage.bmp"); } When the ToolStripButton is displayed in the designer, the original default image is shown. There must be a simple solution. What could it be?

• DotNetOpenAuth OpenIdTextBox For Google/Yahoo

  If I want to integrate DotNetOpenAuth (primary for people to use their Google/Yahoo accounts to login, not act as provider) into my existing site, is this one line control good enough? <rp:OpenIdTextBox ID="OpenIdTextBox1" runat="server" /> Say, if a user wants to login as Google, I can simply set the textbox to "https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id" and then they can login. I tried it with my Google account, it seems working and I can get the token from HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name. Is this "one line" solution secure enough for production? or is it a "must" that I have to use "OpenIdSelector" or "OpenIDLogin" control? I also opened the .net template and some samples, they are very complicated. There are PAPE policies, xrds.aspx (for discovery), ConsumerKey + ConsumerSecret...etc. As a newbie, I am very confused. Any tips on this will be really appreciated. Thanks

  Duplicate Modifying A Collection While Iterating Through It Has anyone a nice pattern to allow me to get around the inability to remove objects while I loop through an enumerable collection (eg, an IList or KeyValuePairs in a dictionary) For example, the following fails, as it modifies the List being enumerated over during the foreach foreach (MyObject myObject in MyListOfMyObjects) { if (condition) MyListOfMyObjects.Remove(myObject); } In the past I have used two methods. I have replaced the foreach with a reversed for loop (so as not to change the any indexes I am looping over if I remove an object). I have also tried storing a new collection of objects to remove within to loop, then looping through that collection and removed the objects from the original collection. These work fine, but neither feels nice, and I was wondering if anyone has come up with a more elegant solution to the issue
