  • SqlMetal, Sql Server 2008 database, Table with HierachyID, dal cs file is created sometimes ?

    I have 2 databases with a 2 tables with HierachyID fields. For one database I can get a dal cs file, for the other database I cannot get a dal cs file ? HBus is a database I can get the dal cs for, ... SqlMetal /server:.\SQLSERVER2008 /database:HBus /code:HBusDC.cs /views /functions /sprocs /namespace:HBusDC /context:HBusDataContext This kicks me out a file, ... which works, but excludes the HierarchyID field for the table and includes all other fields for that table. This is OK I do not mind.   • JBoss Developer Studio exploaded SAR/EAR/WAR deployment

    I am new to JBoss DS and I could not figur out is how to make a folder from my project deployable, exploded SAR in my case. If I create a new server in the JBoss server view / JBoss AS perspective and select a SAR and make it a deployable then the SAR file can be deployed on the JBoss server. Another approch that I have tryed is to make the *-service.xml file as a deployable element, same procedure as with the SAR file, and to add the Eclipse project as a dependency to the classpath of the server 'Open launch configuration' / 'Classpath' after dooing this I got an error from JBoss telling me that the JBoss classes are not found. The compromise solution that I have found is to create a junction/symlink from the output of the Eclipse project 'bin' into the JBoss 'serve//deploy/xxx.sar' this is a temporary solution but will not scale in the future as multiple services must be created. What I would need: I would need to have the ability to make the exploded folder as 'mark deployable' and to be have the classes/*service.xml files loaded from there and to have hot-deployability for them. Any sugestions would help.

  • SQL Server stored procedures - update column based on variable name..?

    Hi, I have a data driven site with many stored procedures. What I want to eventually be able to do is to say something like: For Each @variable in sproc inputs UPDATE @TableName SET @variable.toString = @variable Next I would like it to be able to accept any number of arguments. It will basically loop through all of the inputs and update the column with the name of the variable with the value of the variable - for example column "Name" would be updated with the value of @Name. I would like to basically have one stored procedure for updating and one for creating. However to do this I will need to be able to convert the actual name of a variable, not the value, to a string. Question 1: Is it possible to do this in T-SQL, and if so how? Question 2: Are there any major drawbacks to using something like this (like performance or CPU usage)? I know if a value is not valid then it will only prevent the update involving that variable and any subsequent ones, but all the data is validated in the vb.net code anyway so will always be valid on submitting to the database, and I will ensure that only variables where the column exists are able to be submitted. Many thanks in advance, Regards, Richard Clarke Edit: I know about using SQL strings and the risk of SQL injection attacks - I studied this a bit in my dissertation a few weeks ago. Basically the website uses an object oriented architecture. There are many classes - for example Product - which have many "Attributes" (I created my own class called Attribute, which has properties such as DataField, Name and Value where DataField is used to get or update data, Name is displayed on the administration frontend when creating or updating a Product and the Value, which may be displayed on the customer frontend, is set by the administrator. DataField is the field I will be using in the "UPDATE Blah SET @Field = @Value". I know this is probably confusing but its really complicated to explain - I have a really good understanding of the entire system in my head but I cant put it into words easily. Basically the structure is set up such that no user will be able to change the value of DataField or Name, but they can change Value. I think if I were to use dynamic parameterised SQL strings there will therefore be no risk of SQL injection attacks. I mean basically loop through all the attributes so that it ends up like: UPDATE Products SET [Name] = '@Name', Description = '@Description', Display = @Display Then loop through all the attributes again and add the parameter values - this will have the same effect as using stored procedures, right?? I dont mind adding to the page load time since this is mainly going to affect the administration frontend, and will marginly affect the customer frontend.

My problem is each time I submit the form, data on the server side which I passed them from client are empty. I've used nested class which contains my models, instead of passing multiple object as parameter, but it didn't work again.     I am facing a design problem, here is some basic requirement: Aggregator 1. Separate service for blog,video,images and associations. 2. Each of the service should be completely separate, that means they run on separate tomcat. 3. And each aggregator must be able to query local database and other aggregators 4. Traversal of services must be asynchronous using a ring network. For example, we have a ring like ws1-ws2-ws3-ws4-ws1. Each node represents one type of one aggregator. The traveral goes in this way: the query from ws1 to ws2, and ws1 is waiting for the response from ws2 asynchronously; ws2 to ws3, also ws2 wait for ws3 asynchronously. If ws3 has the data, reply to ws2 then to ws1, then reply. However if ws3 goes away, the traversal should go back to ws2, then to ws1, then go to ws4, then go to ws3 again. then tells ws4 since ws3 fails. The required technology is axis2 and tomcat 6. Does anybody have any clue about it? If it is clear, I can clarify the question more clearly. Thanks very much.

In particular, I am interested in knowing, are operations on enum significantly slower than or as fast as operations on int ?     I fill a DataSet and allow the user to enter a search string. Instead of hitting the database again, I set the RowFilter to display the selected data. When the user enters a square bracket ( "[" ) I get an error "Error in Like Operator". I know there is a list of characters that need prefixed with "\" when they are used in a field name, but how do I prevent RowFilter from interpreting "[" as the beginning of a column name?

    So I am modifying the Cube live wallpaper example. I have a class that extends PreferenceActivity, and I added the Activity in my manifest file. I keep getting ActivityNotFoundExceptions.     I'm having an issue with jQuery UI Tabs script which does not pick up tabs that have a dot "." in their name (ID). For instance like this: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function () { $("#tabgroup\\.services").tabs(); }); </script> <div id="tabgroup.Services"> <ul> <li><a href="#tab.service1"> Service 1 title</a></li> <li><a href="#tab.service2"> Service 2 title</a></li> </ul> <div id="tab.service1"> <p>content</p> </div> <div id="tab.service2"> <p>content</p> </div> </div> The problem is because to select an element with a dot in its name, you need to use escapes (like when I initialize the tabs on my tabgroup). And apparently the Tabs JS implementation does not do that. Although I can do it at the tab group level, I cannot do it lower down because that's implemented in the Tabs JS file and I would not want to modify it (if possible).

'QuerySet' object has no attribute 'name' 1.How can this be resolved. 2.Also how to query for only one field instead of selecting all like select name from info.

  • Missing line number in stack trace eventhough the PDB files are included

    This is running me nuts. I have this web service implemented w/ C# using VS 2008. I publish it on IIS. I have modified the release build so the pdb files are copied along with the dlls into the target directory on inetpub. Also web.config file has debug=true. Then I call a web service that throws an exception. The stack trace does not contain the line numbers. I have no idea what I am missing here, any ideas? Additional Info: If I run the web app using VS built-in web server, it works and I get line numbers in stack trace. But if I copy the same files (pdb and dll) that the VS built-in web server is using to IIS, still the line numbers are missing in stack trace. It seems that there is something related to the IIS that ignores the pdb files! Update When I publish to IIS, all the pdb files are published under the bin directory and everything looks fine. But when I go to "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files" under the specific directory related to my project, I can see that the assembly (.dll) files are all there, but there is no pdb files. But this does not happen if I run the project using VS built-in web server. So if I copy the pdb files manually to the temp folder, I can see the line numbers. Any idea why the pdb files are not copied to the temp folder? BTW, when I attach to the worker process I can see that it says Symbols loaded!

    I am generating a csv download from my web server and to be safe, I have enclosed each field with double quotes. i.e. "Field1","Field2","Field3","Field4" "row1_field1","row1_field2","row1_field3","row1_field4" "row2_field1","row2_field2","row2_field3","row2_field4" The problem is that when the file is opened in Excel, it does not strip all quotes... Therefore, some fields are appearing as: row1_field1 whereas others are appearing as "row1_field2" What am I not doing to ensure that excel strips all surrounding quotes?

  • What is the best way to process XML sent to WCF 3.5

    I have to develop a WCF application in 3.5. The input will be sent in the form of XML and the response would be sent in the form of XML as well. A ASP.NET application will be consuming the WCF and sending/receiving data in XML format. Now, as per my understanding, when consuming WCF from an ASP.NET application, we just add a reference to the service, create an object of the service, pack all the necessary data(Data Members in WCF) into the input object (object of the Data Contract) and call the necessary function. It happens that the ASP.NET application is being developed by a separate party and they are hell bent on receiving and sending data in XML format. What I can perceive from this is that the WCF will take the XML string (a single Data Member string type) as input and send out a XML string (again a single Data Member string type) as output. I have created WCF applications earlier where requests and responses were sent out in XML/JSON format when it was consumed by jQuery ajax calls. In those cases, the XML tags were automatically mapped to the different Data Members defined. What approach should I take in this case? Should I just take a string as input (basically the XML string) or is there any way WCF/.NET 3.5 will automatically map the XML tags with the Data Members for requests and responses and I would not need to parse the XML string separately?

    Hi, I'm implementing a driver that extends IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 as I need to send custom SCSI commands to a device. I'm following the VendorSpecificType00 and SimpleUserClient examples and http://wagerlabs.com/writing-a-mac-osx-usb-device-driver-that-impl as an example. I built my kernel extension and it loads fine with kextload and it shows up in kextstat. The problem is that I can't locate it in my user space code. Here's the important (I think) part of: my driver code: #define super IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 OSDefineMetaClassAndStructors(com_mycompany_driver_Foo, IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00) my user client code: #define super IOUserClient OSDefineMetaClassAndStructors(com_mycompany_driver_FooUserClient, IOUserClient) the plist: CFBundleIdentifier -> com.mycompany.driver.Foo IOCLass -> com_mycompany_driver_Foo IOUserClientClass -> com_mycompany_driver_FooUserClient IOProviderClass -> IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceNub Here's how I try to locate the driver in my user space code (similar to SimpleUserClient): dictRef = IOServiceMatching("com_mycompany_driver_Foo"); kernResult = IOServiceGetMatchingServices(kIOMasterPortDefault, dictRef, &iterator); When I execute the code, iterator is 0.
