  Hello, I got a farm of web server, and a web site ou configure IIS website with the class IISManager70. When I call the OpenRemote method on the ServerManager class i always got an error : The error type is System.UnauthorizedAccessException, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 The message is : Retrieving the COM class factory for remote component with CLSID {2B72133B-3F5B-4602-8952-803546CE3344} from machine 10.10.10.101 failed due to the following error: 80070005. Did someone already have this problem and how solve it ? I try to give the domain admin role to my IIS user (impersonate) but dont work

• Having trouble running code analysis from command prompt with msbuild

  I'm using VS2010 RC while targeting .NET 3.5. I can run code analysis via Visual Studio without a problem. However, when I try to run code analysis on our CI server it isn't getting executed. When I attempt to build using msbuild 4.0 I get the following exception: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\CodeAnalysis\Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.targets(129,9): error MSB4018: The "CodeAnalysis" task failed unexpectedly. • Db2 error : SQL0901N, SQLSTATE=58004

  Hi, Can i use Atomic in the parrent procedure as well as in the procedure which the mail procedure calls. My procedure compiles perfectly, but sometimes when I execute it. I receive following error: DB2 Database Error: ERROR [58004] [IBM][DB2/NT64] SQL0901N The SQL statement failed because of a non-severe system error. Subsequent SQL statements can be processed. (Reason "Sdir len bad: 1542!=1520+14".) SQLSTATE=58004 However, surprisingly when i commented the "ATOMIC" keyword in the main procedure and ran again it ran perfectly. But when I ran it again after uncommenting it still did not give any errors and ran perfectly. So the error that I recieve is not something that I recive everytime.Could some one please let me know what could be the issue and what needs to be done to resolve this. As on goolgeing I did not find any leads on this. Thanks, Harveer

  Hi, Not a massive problem but something that has been bugging the life out of me... One of my colleagues was trying out some code on my machine and got the "There were build errors. Would you like to continue and run the last successful build?" pop-up when the build failed on Visual Studio. He clicked on the "don't show this again" checkbox and closed the dialogue. My problem is that I can't get the dialogue to show up again. I found these instructions online: "Select Tools, Options, Projects and Solutions, Build and Run. Then set the option "On run, when build or deployment errors occur" to Prompt to Launch." but that doesn't work. Resetting the IDE settings to default don't make any difference either. Is there any way to get this dialogue back or has it gone forever? Thanks, K

  I'm having trouble deploying .NET application which uses Microsoft Access automation. I've installed the Access 2007 Runtime and Primary Interop Assemblies (PIAs) on the target machine: Access 2007 Runtime Office 2007 PIAs However, when I try to create the ApplicationClass: Application access = new ApplicationClass(); I get the following exception: Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80080005): Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {73A4C9C1-D68D-11D0-98BF-00A0C90DC8D9} failed due to the following error: 80080005. I've googled the error code and tried tweaking the security settings in dcomcnfg, to no avail. Any ideas? I don't want to install the full version of Access due to the cost, and the runtime should at least be able to create an instance of the application, surely?

  I have a template for an email that I've put in a localized strings file, and I'm loading the string with the NSLocalizedString macro. I'd rather not make each line its own string with a unique key. In Objective-C, I can create a human-readable multiline string like so: NSString *email = @"Hello %@,\n" "\n" "Check out %@.\n" "\n" "Sincerely,\n" "\n" "%@"; I tried to put that in a .strings file with: "email" = "Hello %@,\n" "\n" "Check out %@.\n" "\n" "Sincerely,\n" "\n" "%@"; But I get the following error at build time: CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): Old-style plist parser: missing semicolon in dictionary. email-template.strings: Unexpected character " at line 1 Command /Developer/Library/Xcode/Plug-ins/CoreBuildTasks.xcplugin/Contents/Resources/copystrings failed with exit code 1 I can concatenate it all together like this: "email" = "Hello %@,\n\nCheck out %@.\n\nSincerely,\n\n%@"; But that will be a mess to maintain, particularly as the email gets longer. Is there a way to do this in a localized strings file? I've already tried adding backslashes at the end of each line, to no avail.

  Trying to use use SharpSVN in an ASP.NET app. So far, it's been nothing but trouble. First, I kept getting permission errors on "lock" files (that don't exist), even though NETWORK SERVICE has full permissions on the directories. Finally in frustration I just granted Everyone full control. Now I get a new error: OPTIONS of 'https://server/svn/repo': authorization failed: Could not authenticate to server: rejected Basic challenge (https://server) This happens whether I have the DefaultCredentials set below or not: using (SvnClient client = new SvnClient()) { //client.Authentication.DefaultCredentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("user", "password"); client.LoadConfiguration(@"C:\users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Subversion"); SvnUpdateResult result; client.Update(workingdir, out result); } Any clues? • Where do I find scripts generated by SharePoint MCMS Migration Profiles

  I am attempting to migrate data from an Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 instance into a new Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS) 2007 installation using the Manage Microsoft Content Management Server Migration Profiles tool in the Operations space of MOSS Central Administration. When analyzing the profile, I receive 4 warnings, all of which may be safely ignored, but when I actually execute the migration profile, I get the same warnings and an additional error with a description of: Line 6: Incorrect syntax near ';'. I have seen this error numerous times when mucking about in SQL Server and recognize it as a Transact SQL error message, but can't find the actual SQL statement that is being executed so that I may determine the source of the error. EDIT: After enabling verbose logging on the MCMS 2002 Migration category, and poring through the Unified Logging Service (ULS) logs, I received a more complete stack trace at the point of the error, and a couple more anomalies listed below. As with all the skipped test names and SQL table names from the warnings, the major search engines are unable (with the exception of LayoutProperty) to find any reference to these objects or tests.   Hello, first time here... great site Well, I want to reference a web service, and it requires user/pass authentication. In VS 2008, if I try to "add reference", or "add service reference", all I can type is the URL, there's no way to input my credentials. Obviously, if I try to load the ws, it shows me a nice message: "The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Basic realm="weblogic"'. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." So my question is: Is it possible (using VS 2008) to add a reference to a web service that is protected? How? Any help is kindly appreciated. Thanks!

Then I want to control the browser in WatiN 2.0: FireFox ff = Browser.AttachTo<FireFox>(Find.ByTitle("Google")); WatiN could not find Firefox window (JSSH plugin has been added in Firefox). But the same test on IE 7 is ok. I even tried to open a Firefox window manually and visit google.com page. WaitN in IE7 could attach to the browser, but Firefox failed. • problem with seam and mdb on jboss5.1

  I have a problem when using a mdb as a seam component. In the bean I inject some other seam somponents. The problem is that when the server restart after a crash and the mdb is deployed it starts reading the messages but seam is not initialized yet and I got an exception(listed above). If i start the server whith the queues empty and submit a message to queue after the server start it is working ok. Is there a posibility to stop or delay the sending off messages on server startup and start sending them only when seam is fully funcional? I just made quite a few changes to my working copy and now I went to do a commit some of the files went through but at one file named Search.aspx.cs it says Commit failed (details follow): Can't open file 'C:\-----\trunk\.svn\text-base\Search.aspx.cs.svn-base': The system cannot find the file specified. I have tried doing a SVN update and SVN cleanup and nothing is restoring this file. I can't even create a diff because it gives a similar error about missing files. How do I fix this? What did I do to cause it?

• Microsoft.Web.Administration.ServerManager can't read config sections containing encrypted passwords

  I have some sites in IIS7 that are configured to run as domain users (MYDOMAIN\someuser). I'm using the Microsoft.Web.Administration namespace to scan my server configuration, but it's throwing an exception when I hit one of these "impersonator" sites: using (ServerManager sm = new ServerManager()) { foreach (Site site in sm.Sites) { foreach (Application app in site.Applications.Reverse()) { foreach (VirtualDirectory vdir in app.VirtualDirectories.Reverse()) { var config = app.GetWebConfiguration(); foreach (var locationPath in config.GetLocationPaths()) { // error occurs in GetLocationPaths() } } } } } The actual error message is: COMException was unhandled Filename: \\?\C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\applicationHost.config Line number: 279 Error: Failed to decrypt attribute 'password' because the keyset does not exist It appears that IIS is storing the MYDOMAIN\someuser password encrypted in applicationHost.config, which is great in terms of security - but I have no idea how to get the ServerManager to decrypt this. Any tips on how I can either allow ServerManager to decrypt this, or just tell IIS to store the passwords in plain text? This is on IIS7 under Windows 7 RC, by the way.

• C# Winforms - SQL Server 2005 stored procedure - parameters from TextBox

  I'm trying to call a parameterized stored procedure from SQL Server 2005 in my C# Winforms app. I add the parameters like so (there are 88 of them): cmd.Parameters.Add("@CustomerName", SqlDbType.VarChar, 100).Value = CustomerName.Text; I get the following exception: "System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a TextBox to a String. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Object must implement IConvertible." The line throwing the error is when I call the query: cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); I also tried using the .ToString() method on the TextBoxes, which seemed pointless anyway, and threw the same error. Am I passing the parameters incorrectly? Thanks for the help.

  I have an MDF and LDF file of SQL Server 2005. i attached it with SQL Server 2008 and did some change in data. now when i attached it back to sql server 2005 Express Edition it gives version error. The database 'E:\DB\JOBPERS.MDF' cannot be opened because it is version 655. This server supports version 612 and earlier. A downgrade path is not supported. Could not open new database 'E:\DB\JOBPERS.MDF'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted. An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file E:\DB\Jobpers.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.

• Windows Vista/Win7 Privilege Problem: SeDebugPrivilege & OpenProcess

  Everything I've been able to find about escalating to the appropriate privileges for my needs has agreed with my current methods, but the problem exists. I'm hoping maybe someone has some Windows Vista/Win7 internals experience that might shine some light where there is only darkness. I'm sure this will get long, but please bare with me. Context: I'm working on an app that requires accessing the memory of other processes on the current machine. This, obviously, requires administrator rights. It also requires SeDebugPrivilege, which I believe myself to be acquiring correctly, although I question if more privileges aren't necessary and thus the cause of my problems. Code has so far worked successfully on all versions of Windows XP, and on my test Vista32 and Win7x64 environments. Process: Program will Always be run with Administrator Rights. This can be assumed throughout this post. Escalating the current process's Access Token to include SeDebugPrivilege rights. Using EnumProcesses to create a list of current PIDs on the system Opening a handle using OpenProcess with PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS access rights Using ReadProcessMemory to read the memory of the other process. Problem: Everything has been working fine during development and my personal testing (including Windows XP 32 & 64, Windows Vista 32, and Windows 7 x64). However, during a test deployment onto both Windows Vista(32-bit) and Windows 7(64-bit) machines of a colleague, there seems to be a privilege/rights problem with OpenProcess failing with a generic Access Denied error. This occurs both when running as a limited User (as would be expected) and also when run explicitly as Administrator (Right-click Run as Administrator and when run from an Administrator level command prompt). However, this problem has been unreproducible for myself in my test environment. I have witnessed the problem first hand, so I trust that the problem exists. The only difference that I can discern between the actual environment and my test environment is that the actual error is occurring when using a Domain Administrator account at the UAC prompt, whereas my tests (which work with no errors) use a local administrator account at the UAC prompt. It appears that although the credentials being used allow UAC to 'run as administrator', the process is still not obtaining the correct rights to be able to OpenProcess on another process. I am not familiar enough with the internals of Vista/Win7 to know what this might be, and I am hoping someone has an idea of what could be the cause. The Kicker: The person who has reported this error, and who's environment can regularly reproduce this bug, has a small application named along the lines of RunWithDebugEnabled which is a small bootstrap program which appears to escalate its own privileges and then launch the executable passed to it (thus inheriting the escalated privileges). When run with this program, using the same Domain Administrator credentials at UAC prompt, the program works correctly and is able to successfully call OpenProcess and operates as intended. So this is definitely a problem with acquiring the correct privileges, and it is known that the Domain Administrator account is an administrator account that should be able to access the correct rights. (Obviously obtaining this source code would be great, but I wouldn't be here if that were possible). Notes: As noted, the errors reported by the failed OpenProcess attempts are Access Denied. According to MSDN documentation of OpenProcess: If the caller has enabled the SeDebugPrivilege privilege, the requested access is granted regardless of the contents of the security descriptor. • How can I assert from Python C code?

  I'm writing a Python class in C and I want to put assertions in my debug code. assert.h suits me fine. This only gets put in debug compiles so there's no chance of an assert failure impacting a user of the Python code*. I'm trying to divide my 'library' code (which should be separate to the code linked against Python) so I can use it from other C code. My Python methods are therefore thinnish wrappers around my pure-C code. So I can't do this in my 'library' code: if (black == white) { PyErr_SetString(PyExc_RuntimeError, "Remap failed"); } because this pollutes my pure-C code with Python. It's also far uglier than a simple assert(black != white); I believe that the Distutils compiler always sets NDEBUG, which means I can't use assert.h even in debug builds. Mac OS and Linux. Help! *one argument I've heard against asserting in C code called from Python.
