    Outlook is always sending along 2 pictures (image001.png and image002.gif) with my mails. Even if I don't attach any images. How do I fix this? Thanks.   • litespeed issue with content-type

    I am running magento with litespeed. The problem I am facing is that ajax call is being made of which header is set as x-json, but lightspeed is setting another header of text/html content type I've checked that page with apache and everything is working fine.   • Conky starts above windows in Ubuntu Maverick

    Hey guys, I did not run into this problem until I upgraded my Ubuntu box to Maverick Meerkat (10.10). Basically, whenever I start my computer, conky runs as expected, except it gets drawn over any windows that I load (see screenshot). To fix this for a single session, I simply restart conky by running killall conky; conky in a terminal. Conky gets re-drawn below active windows (namely, only appearing on my desktop), and does not have the border/drop-shadow, but I have to do this every time I start a new session. Is there a simple way to fix this?   • Don't break header/footer when making page landscape format

    I have a document with a footer with page numbering and a header with some centered text. Long story short: I flipped one page to landscape format. Long story long: I made a forced page break to get a blank page. I then highlighted this page (that is, I highlighted the empty line on this page) and went to the page proporties menu window, clicked on the landscape format button, and chose to apply this setting for the highlighted text only. The result: All that is of course no big deal, and my page is flipped the 90 degrees as wished - but my header and footer break! They disappear from this page... and actually also from the next page (which is still upright portrait format), which is weird. And then the header and footer is back on the following pages again, though the page numbering restarts from 1. On this screenshot you can see that the previous and the following pages have headers and footers, but not the flipped one and not the page following the flipped one. What just happened here? How can I make the page numbering continue without restarting first of all, and then, how can I keep the header and footer on at least the upright page, that suddenly doesn't have them?

  • django : Serving static files through nginx

    I'm using apache+mod_wsgi for django. And all css/js/images are served through nginx. For some odd, reason when others/friends/colleagues try accessing the site, jquery/css is not getting loaded for them, hence the page looks jumbled up. My html files use code like this - <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://x.x.x.x:8000/css/custom.css"/> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://1x.x.x.x:8000/js/custom.js"></script> My nginx configuration in sites-available is like this - server { listen 8000; server_name localhost; access_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.error.log; location / { index index.html index.htm; } location /static/ { autoindex on; root /opt/aa/webroot/; } } There is a directory /opt/aa/webroot/static/ which have corresponding css & js directories. The odd thing is that the pages show fine when I access them. I have cleared my cache/etc, but the page loads fine for me, from various browsers. Also, I don't see any 404 any error in the nginx log files. Actually the logs for nginx are not getting refreshed at all. I restarted the nginx server using root, is that incorrect ? There is a user www-data defined in the nginx configuration file. Any pointers would be great.

  • Why is Safari on my computer rendering all of the colors -- not just for images -- incorrectly?

    I’m not just talking about image color profile issues; every single color that the browser renders is incorrect. It’s like it’s in it’s own color space (or something!). Screenshot: http://drp.ly/DJk1O (Opera, Safari, Chrome, Firefox) Spot the odd one out? Open this up in Photoshop or similar and try using the eyedropper to select the colour. Safari renders the same hex color completely differently. That color is set using a background-color declaration in CSS, so it should be identical in all four of those browsers.   • BluRay audio/video stuttering with PowerDVD 11, WinDVD 11 Pro, etc? Xonar/Auzen HD audio option?

    I recently upgraded my Windows 7 MediaCenter HTPC due to a motherboard failure (really old motherboard and cpu, it was on its last legs.) I chose to upgrade to an i5 system with everything built into the motherboard. I did my due diligence, researched, and found some hardware that was within my budget. I ended up with: Core i5 2500K (3.3Ghz) Corsair XMS3 2x2Gb DDR3 (4Gb) ASUS P8H 61-M LE/CSM MicroCenter 64Gb SSD (Previous BluRay player, forget the brand) The system is pretty awesome, and plays everything I have perfectly. I almost went with an Atom solution, however there have been numerous notes that they do not play NetFlix Instant Watch well...and I am a heavy Netflix IW user. High definition BluRay rips work well, although they usually contain lower audio quality than the BluRay's they were ripped from. The real problem I am encountering is playing back BluRay video from discs. For some reason, I am encountering rather terrible stuttering problems with both the audio and video. The stuttering is synchronous in both, and occurs at seemingly random intervals. I've used PowerDVD 9, PowerDVD 11 trial, and WinDVD 11 Pro trial. All three have stuttering problems, although PowerDVD 11 seems to have the least. Watching system resource usage, CPU load is never above 20%, and memory usage tends to be a constant 1/3rd the total available system memory. When playback is fine, its superb...the video is crystal clear. The audio quality is ok, certainly not what I would expect from a BluRay disc. I did some research, and it seems that playing BluRay from a PC causes a downsampling of the audio? I am curious if the audio is my primary problem here, the cause of the stuttering I am encountering? When stuttering occurs, the audio gets REALLY bad, while the video just pauses momentarily every second until for whatever reason everything picks up and runs fine (usually after a few seconds to a couple minutes.) The audio chipset is a Realtek HD ALC887 8-channel, supposedly designed to support BluRay playback. Has anyone encountered any issues like this playing back bluray discs on a PC (namely with PowerDVD...WinDVD was FAR worse, and seemed to have real trouble even reading the discs, and I have no interest in fiddling with it further.) Is there any reason to suspect the video decoding as the problem?(Given how bad the audio gets during a stutter, and how clean the video remains, I am inclined to think the issue boils down to audio.) Is it even remotely possible that the motherboard, cpu, or ram are causing the stuttering (all three are pretty blazing fast...faster than the hardware that I replaced, which seemed to play BluRay fine with PowerDVD 9.) I've read a bit about the Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 and the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD home theater hi-fi audio cards. Seems they are the only way to get true full-quality, uncompressed BluRay audio bitstreaming over HDMI on a PC. None of the usual suspects seem to have these cards in stock, however. Are these cards worth getting? Are they even still available, or have they been discontinued (if so, that would indeed be sad...they sound simply fantastic.)

  • x display problems in centos 5.5

    I have a Dell E510 desktop with a geForce 7200 instead of the ATI x600 it came with. I have attempted to install CentOS 5.4 x86_64 (DVD), CentOS 5.5 (net install), and CentOS 5.5 x86_64 (DVD). Gnome desktop. All of these run into the same issue. When I put the DVD into the machine and reboot, the installer begins and I select "graphical install". I see text that say anaconda is starting, and then my screen goes nuts. It's not black, but rather a screen full of diagonal stripes or multiple colors. So I attempted to do a text install of CentOS 5.5 (DVD) and got it installed. When I booted for the first time, I logged into the virtual console and started X (startx). The desktop came up and it already had the display properties GUI up. I changed it from 800x600 to 1680x1050, saw that there were updates available, installed them, and then rebooted. When I start X from the virtual console this time, I get exactly the same display problem as I described before. Does anyone know what might be causing this and what I can do about it? edit: I should also mention that I'm capable of installing Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04 onto this machine with absolutely no issues at all.

  • pdftotext not outputting hebrew characters

    I'm using Xpdf's pdftotext to get the text out of some hebrew pdf files on Ubuntu. On my local machine this worked fine. I then tried to do it on another machine and the hebrew characters don't show up in the text file. I verified that I have the language package (see below why I think so).   • [Word2007] How to showing "only number" in picture cross-reference

    I have many pictures in a document and I reference them very often in text. I don't want to lose the order so I am using Insert - Cross-reference. This opens the cross-reference dialog where I can set Reference type to Picture. For "Insert reference to", there are 5 choices: - Entire caption - List item - Only label and number - Only caption text - Page number, Above/below What I need is a reference that would be inserted like this: [4], and not like this: [Picture 4]; None of these options enable me to do it. Is there any way to make Word 2007 insert a reference to only Caption Number? Note: The document is written in Croatian language which has 7 declension cases, so using "Picture 4" would not be valid in all cases. Actually caption label Picture is set to croatian word "Slika" and when I need to say say "in the picture" I can't because it would be "na Slici 5." and not "na Slika 5." (like Word would make me do). That's why I need to reference only the caption number. Is that possible in Word 2007?

  • SQL 2008 Backups to UNC Share Failing 0xC002F210

    This problem is driving me NUTS!! We take backups of all of our production databases to a network share, which are then backed up to tape nightly. 8pm Mon-Fri - Full backup, followed by log backup 7am-7pm Mon-Fri, at half-hour interval - Log backup Our backups have been working in this manner since we migrated from SQL Server Standard 2000 to 2008, 3 years ago. Recently, the first log backup on Mondays have been failing. Not every time, but almost every time! The rest of the week, we've had no problems. I guess the issue may have something to do with the size of the log backup that's attempted after a weekend of no backups. Now onto the issue I need a fix for... All this week, every full backup on our biggest two databases have failed (Both backups < 1GB compressed). There's plenty of disk space on the source and destination servers. I'm guessing the issue is to do with the amount of time it takes to complete the backups of these databases, and/or the size of the backup files required to complete these backups. Changing the backup destination to local storage works fine (and very, very fast in comparison). From the Job History, I can find a few hints as to what the problem could be... Code: 0xC002F210 (Always this code, but a mix of the following descriptions...) "The operating system returned the error '64(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 1815)' while attempting 'SetEndOfFile' on '\drserver\SQLBackups\Database.bak'. BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. "The operating system returned the error '64(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 1815)' while attempting 'FlushFileBuffers' on '\drserver\SQLBackups\Database.bak'.   • Why does notepad crash on desktop files in the save-as dialog?

    Here's a puzzling problem - maybe somebody has an idea. Right now I am out of ideas. On Win7 64bit, the following crashes Notepad: On Desktop, right click, select "New | Text Document". This creates "New Text Document.txt". Right click on that file, select "Edit". This opens notepad with the empty file. Select "File | Save as": Notepad crashes and Win7 reports that "Notepad has stopped working". Now, move the file to c:\temp and repeat steps 2 and 3: no crash this time and the save-as dialog appears normally. I can create similar steps for the "open" dialog. Things I have tried: Safe mode - does not work, same problem Create a new user and try again logged in as that user - no crash Name file differently, or create elsewhere and then move to desktop - same problem Use Wordpad instead - same problem Review shell extensions with ShellExView - nothing extraordinary here Stare at the event log entries for each of the crashes. Does not enlighten me. At time of crash look at the process explorer stack view. Hangs at a function "TaskDialog". sfc.exe /scannow repaired some files but the problem persists. It seems that Ubuntu's fontconfig tries to keep characters in integral pixel widths. This makes text more difficult to read, when 1 pixel is too thin and 2 pixels is too thick. Check the image below. In Fedora, when fontconfig anti-aliasing is enabled, fonts have their thickness proportional to the font size. Below, the thickness is different for 8, 9 and 10pt sizes. In Ubuntu, on the other hand, even when anti-aliasing is enabled, all 8, 9 and 10pt sizes have 1 pixel thickness. This makes reading larges amount of text difficult. I'm using the very same home directory, and I already checked that X resources are the same in both systems: ~% xrdb -query | grep Xft Xft.antialias: 1 Xft.dpi: 96 Xft.hinting: 1 Xft.hintstyle: hintfull Xft.rgba: none GNOME settings: ~% gconftool-2 -a /desktop/gnome/font_rendering antialiasing = grayscale hinting = full dpi = 96 rgba_order = rgb So, the question is: What should I change in the new box (Ubuntu) in order to get anti-aliasing like in the old box (Fedora)?

  • Can I disable this Windows (XP) Security Warning?

    I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP (I know I'll have to take the plunge and commit to Win8 "real soon, now", but I'm just not quite ready for the upheaval yet! :) I used to use WinRar (and later, when I got fed up with the "nag" messages, 7-Zip), but I haven't installed either of them in my new configuration, so I must be using the built-in XP facility when I open *.zip files. For years, I've been opening downloaded *.zip archives, and using "drag & drop" to copy to a File Explorer window open on the folder where I want the files to end up (usually, My Documents\Downloads). But now I find that when I "drop" the file(s), I get a pop-up Windows Security Warning saying Are you sure you want to copy or move files to this folder? You should only move or copy files from locations that you trust Can anyone explain why I'm getting this message, and is there any (reasonably easy, please! :) way to suppress it? Since I've already put the *.zip file on my computer, it seems a bit late to ask if I trust it. (Thus far, the files in question have always been plain text, so it's not a matter of dodgy programs, etc.) Apologies for the low quality image - I don't have the appropriate tools or knowledge to do any better, and it doesn't help that my "PrtScr" screen capture has included what would have been on my second monitor (TV) if it had been turned on. If you can't read it, trust me - I have copied the text verbatim.

The text is legitimate but it has the words 'create' and an html <table> tag later in it so it is causing a false positive.   • django : nginx : jquery css not being served

    I'm using apache+mod_wsgi for django. And all css/js/images are served through nginx. For some odd, reason when others/friends/colleagues try accessing the site, jquery/css is not getting loaded for them, hence the page looks jumbled up. My html files use code like this - <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://x.x.x.x:8000/css/custom.css"/> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://1x.x.x.x:8000/js/custom.js"></script> My nginx configuration in sites-available is like this - server { listen 8000; server_name localhost; access_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.error.log; location / { index index.html index.htm; } location /static/ { autoindex on; root /opt/aa/webroot/; } } There is a directory /opt/aa/webroot/static/ which have corresponding css & js directories. The odd thing is that the pages show fine when I access them. I have cleared my cache/etc, but the page loads fine for me, from various browsers. Also, I don't see any 404 any error in the nginx log files. Actually the logs for nginx are not getting refreshed at all. I restarted the nginx server using root, is that incorrect ? There is a user www-data defined in the nginx configuration file. Any pointers would be great.

  • RHEL 5.2 installing on ProLiant BL460c - hangs at 'now booting the kernel'

    As the title states, I have a problem. This server and the installation disc are also on the other side of the world to me so... So far, I have tried to start the install with the parameters: linux text noapic noacpi no=apic no=acpi which results in the same hang. I have also disabled a PCI ethernet adapter, I am uneasy about disabling the onboard ethernet adapter I do not know if ILO uses this. Anyone have any advice? Much appreciated. EDIT: full output after trying to begin the installation. boot: linux text Loading initrd.img.................. Loading vmlinuz....... Uncompressing Linux...done.     Let's say I have a simple web page with svg image in it: <img src="foobar.svg" alt="not working" /> If I make this page as static html page and view it directly svg is displayed. If I type the address of this svg -- it is displayed. But when I make this as .aspx page and launch it dynamically from Visual Studio I get alt text. If I type the address of this svg (from localhost, not as a local file) -- browser tries to download it instead of displaying. I already defined mime type in IIS (for entire server -- "image/svg+xml") and restarted IIS. Same effect as before. Question: what should I do more?   • Folder redirection GPO doesn't seem to be working

    I've been trying to set up roaming profiles and folder redirection, but have hit a bit of a snag with the latter. This is exactly what I've done so far: (I have OU permissions and GPO permissions over my division's OU.) Created a group called Roaming-Users in the OU 'Groups' Added a single user (testuser) to the group Using the Group Policy Management tool (via RSAT on Windows 7) I right-clicked on the Groups OU and selected 'Create a GPO in this domain, and Link it here' Added my 'Roaming-Users' group to the Security Filtering section of the policy. Added the Folder Redirection option, specifically for Documents. It is set to redirect to: \myserver\Homes$\%USERNAME%\Documents (Homes$ exists and is sharing-enabled). Right-clicked on the policy under the Groups OU and checked Enforced. Logged into a machine as testuser successfully. Created a simple text file, saved some gibberish, logged off. Remoted into the server with Homes$ on it, noticed that the directory Homes$\testuser was created, but was empty. No text file to be found. From what I've read, I did everything I aught to...but I can't quite figure out the issue. I had no errors when I logged off about syncing issues (offline files is enabled) or anything, so I can only imagine my file should have ended up up on the share. Any ideas? EDIT: Using gpresult /R, I confirmed the user is in fact part of the Roaming-Users group, but does not have the policy applied, if that helps. EDIT 2: Apparently you can't apply GPOs to groups...so I applied to users and used the same security filter to limit it to my test user. Nothing happens as far as redirection goes, but I now have the following error in the event log: Folder redirection policy application has been delayed until the next logon because the group policy logon optimization is in effect

  • How to show "only number" in picture cross-reference in Word 2007 document?

    I have many pictures in a document and I reference them very often in text. I don't want to lose the order so I am using Insert - Cross-reference. This opens the cross-reference dialog where I can set Reference type to Picture. For "Insert reference to", there are 5 choices: - Entire caption - Only label and number - Only caption text - Page number - Above/below What I need is a reference that would be inserted like this: [4], and not like this: [Picture 4]; None of these options enable me to do it. Is there any way to make Word 2007 insert a reference to only Caption Number? Note: The document is written in Croatian language which has 7 declension cases, so using "Picture 4" would not be valid in all cases. Actually caption label Picture is set to croatian word "Slika" and when I need to say say "in the picture" I can't because it would be "na Slici 5." and not "na Slika 5." (like Word would make me do). That's why I need to reference only the caption number. Is that possible in Word 2007?
