    I have a windows server 2008 R2 standard edition. The system suddenly stopped accepting remote desktop connections. When I tried to connect directly to the console, I am unable to start any applications. I got errors "The page file is to small to complete the action". Under takmanager in performance the system shows "Commit(GB) 127/127". What does this imply? The system has 32 GB ram, 5 raid disks each 150 Gb

  • Nginx / uWsgi / Django site can handle more traffic with rewrite URL

    Hi there. I'm running a Django app, using uWsgi behind Nginx. I've been doing some performance tuning and load testing using ApacheBench and have discovered something unexpected which I wonder if someone could explain for me. In my Nginx config I have a rewrite directive which catches lots of different URL permutations and then forwards them to the canonical URL I wish to use, eg, it traps www.mysite.com/whatever, www.mysite.co.uk/whatever and forwards them all to http://mysite.com/whatever. If I load test against any of the URLs listed with a redirect (ie, NOT the canonical URL which it is eventually forwarded to), it can serve 15000 concurrent connections without breaking a sweat. If I load test against the canonical URL, which the above test I would have expected got forwarded to anyway, it can't handle nearly as much. It will drop about 4000 of the 15000 requests, and can only handle about 9000 reliably. This is the command line I'm using to test: ab -c15000 -n15000 http://www.mysite.com/somepath/ and ab -c15000 -n15000 http://mysite.com/somepath/ I've tried several different types - it makes no different which order I do them in. This doesn't make sense to me - I can understand why the requests involving a redirect may not handle quite so many concurrent connections, but it's happening the other way round. Can anyone explain? I'd really prefer it if the canonical URL was the one which could handle more traffic. I'll post my Nginx config below.   • Is there an equivalent command for 'init.d/networking restart' in OS X

    From time to time, I've encountered issues with OS X clients' network connections (Wired and Wireless, Leopard/Snow Leopard) where nothing will fix the issue, until you reboot. Is there a particular 'network service/process' I should be watching out for? I was thinking it would be useful to know of a command that will reset a 'network connection' type service/process (same as running a sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart). Thanks!

  • NetworkManager applet looks like it can't see network

    My system is Ubuntu 9.04. There is NetworkManager applet, but it looks like there are no networks. When I click it, there is disabled menu "Wired Network/device not managed". I have working eth0 interface, internet is working fine and I can see eth0 in ifconfig When I right-click and choose "Edit connections", there is only "Auto vboxnet0" under "Wired" tab. No "eth0". It shouldn't be a problem, but I cannot connect to VPN because of this :(

  • internet connection occasionally stops, but can still ping .com sites

    hi, every half hour or so, for 1-2 minutes my browser will stop navigating to sites, "waiting for ... to respond.." within 2 minutes i will be able to connect to sites and browse like normal again. weird thing is, while i cannot connect to sites, i get ping replies from any .com i type in. this happens on my home wireless network, using FF and IE on a win7 desktop AND FF on an ubuntu laptop the network is wpa2 secured, these are the only connections.

    Is it possible to configure vsFTPD to use Explicit FTP over TLS for all connections except those coming from 127.0.0.1? Joomla website is being hosted on a server, and it's unable to use FTPES, so I had to set: force_local_data_ssl=NO force_local_logins_ssl=NO But I want to force content managers to use FTPES, and I am unable to control whether they have chosen FTP or FTPES in their client's connection properties.   • Postmaster uses excessive CPU and Disk Writes

    using PostgreSQL 9.1.2 I'm seeing excessive CPU usage and large amounts of writes to disk from postmaster tasks. This happens even while my application is doing almost nothing (10s of inserts per MINUTE). There are a reasonable number of connections open however. I've been trying to determine what in my application is causing this. I'm pretty newb with postgresql, and haven't gotten anywhere so far. I've turned on some logging options in my config file, and looked at connections in the pg_stat_activity table, but they are all idle. Yet each connection consumes ~ 50% CPU, and is writing ~15M/s to disk (reading nothing). I'm basically using the stock postgresql.conf with very little tweaks. I'd appreciate any advice or pointers on what I can do to track this down.     There is a good tutorial of creation of Sharepoint 2010 My-sites here. In my environment I can't get the connection to Active Directory work, as it fails with: "An operation error occurred." There is a text "For Active Directory connections to work, this account must have directory sync rights." but I don't know what that means... My question is: There is nothing in the Event Log. Where is the error-log? :-)

I've enable 'Allow all incoming connections' in the Firewall settings. Windows Live Messenger works fine when connecting through the same router on my Windows laptop.     I looking for software similar to JDownloader or PyLoad. JD is pretty good but use heavy Java and for now have very weak web interface. PyLoad is awesome, include simple but powerful web-UI but downloading 10 files (10 threads each, so summary it's 100 connections running at around 8MB/s all) consume a lot of cpu - it's whole core for me. Do you know any lightweight alternatives? Aria2c is good for console but I failed to find any good webui, official one is good but after adding more files almost crashes Chrome :)

    Currently we manually document the connections to the ports of our switches. Of course, maintenance is a chore, and the documentation is out of date as soon as you save it. Are there any tools for querying switches, preferably via SNMP, that can tell you what is connected on the other end? For the record, we use primarily HP ProCurve switches.

Are there any other solutions?
