  • How do I fix a font compatibilty issue from Mac to Windows, using Adobe Flash CS4?

    Hi, I need to edit a Flash movie that somebody else developed in Adobe Flash CS3 on a Mac. I'm using Adobe Flash CS4 on Windows (Vista). However, the font that shows up on my computer is much bigger than on the .SWF that he produced. He used a custom font, which I had to add to my system Fonts folder. Because Adobe Flash detected the right fonts on my computer, it didn't map them to substitute fonts. I verified that Flash is indeed using the same font files that he used. I believe the fonts are being rendered differently because I'm using Windows. How do I fix this?

  • PHP: creating a smooth edged circle, image or font?

    I'm making a PHP image script that will create circles at a given radius. I used: <?php imagefilledellipse ( $image, $cx, $cy, $w, $h, $color ); ?> but hate the rough edges it produces. So I was thinking of making or using a circle font that I will output using: <?php imagettftext ( $image, $size, $angle, $x, $y, $color, 'fontfile.ttf', $text ); ?> So that the font will produce a circle that has a smooth edge. My problem is making the "font size" match the "radius size". Any ideas? Or maybe a PHP class that will produce a smooth edge on a circle would be great! Thank you.

    Hello, I am trying to get the size of a user's local profile using VBScript. I know the directory of the profile (typically "C:\Users\blah"). The following code does not work for most profiles (Permission Denied error 800A0046): Dim folder Dim fso Set fso = WScript.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set folder = fso.GetFolder("C:\Users\blah") MsgBox folder.Size ' Error occurs here Is there another way to do this? UPDATE: I did some deeper digging and it turns out that the Permission Denied error occurs if permission is denied to some subfolders or files of the directory whose size I wish to get. In the case of user profiles, there's always a few system files that even the Administrator group does not have permission to access. To get around this, I wrote a function that tries to get the folder size the normal way (above), then, if the error occurs, it recurses into the subdirectories of the folder, ignoring folder sizes that are permission denied (but not the rest of the folders).     Following this earlier question on customizing the color of the message rows in Thunderbird, I now want to do the same for the folder pane. I assume if I use the same userchrome code and replace the appropriate css IDs (i.e. #threadTree) with the correct ones for the folder pane, I am all set. However, where can I find a list of all Thunderbird CSS id's that can be used in userchrome.css? I've googled and installed Thunderbird DOM inspector, but that didn't do the trick.

    i've used a DataList (dlparent) control for one of my page. Inside that datalist is another Datalist (dlchild) that is being populated by itemdatabound event of the parent datalist. i've used css with dlchild. Databinding is ok and the required output shows great with mozilla and IE but not in netscape, safari and google chrome. dlchild is not showing. only item in dlparent appears.     I want to fill a CSS box with text till there is no overflow or scrollbar. I fetch text from MySQL. The user clicks a button and the next bit of text that can fit will fill the box. The only way I've figured to do this is by parsing through the text and counting characters and newlines, etc and calculating whether it will fit in the box. Is there an easier way to do this? But now the path is always munged up by the rewriting, though the virtual components below index.php are properly translated. What am I doing wrong?
