  So I have some custom VPS which route emails via MX record in DNS. And I need to setup gmail interface via Google Apps - this step and previous are clear. But how can I insert some middle layer, to check emails messages for special words/etc., so something like spam assasin proxy, but custom product. The question is: How could i setup proxy mail from my server = to proxy server(or application) = to gmail servers? Thank you, for any help!

• Nano suddenly putting in weird characters when I type

  I am using a shell and editing a file in nano (similar to pico). A short while ago, it started doing this thing where if I type: $query = "select" * from topics where id='' "; and then I hit Backspace and try to stick the letter 'a' into the id='' part, it changes it to: $query = "select * from koala_topics where id='a='' "; and the cursor jumps around to a few spaces before. Also if I type print At the start of a new line, and then I think "Oh I should have added a tab" and I go back and try to add a tab, it adds a tab AND 2 spaces, and if I put the cursor through the word print, it turns into printnt. Some other weird things have happened too. I uninstalled nano using yum (which is how I installed it), and then re-installed it, thinking that would get me clean preferences (in case that was the problem) but it doesn't fix it.

  I use a Mac with French keyboard, and I have installed a Windows 7 as virtual machine. Now I would like to type Chinese in this Windows 7. The normal input method for Chinese within Windows 7 allows me to input Chinese, but does not work perfectly, because it does not recognize I am using a French keyboard - it presumes I am using a English keybord... So for some keys, what I type on the keybord is not what the input method gives on the screen... Could anyone help on this?

• Wireless Keyboard Intermittent Failure to Type and Added Characters

  My keyboard has been acting up from time to time. It's wireless so this may be a wireless issue. What happens is I will be typing and then all of a sudden it seems to stop responding. If I type out this sentence it may show up like so If I ttennnnnnnnn it may ssssssp so While typing that sentence I may have to mash on a key repeatedly to get it to type. The resulting strings of letters seem to be coming as if the keyboard buffer cannot keep up. It's so weird. If I take the USB tranceiver and yank it out then plug it back in, Voila! Problem solved. I did the battery check so that's not a problem. Any suggestions? My keyboard is the Logitech MX3200

• Filtering Security Logs by User and Logon Type

  I have been asked to find out when a user has logged on to the system in the last week. Now the audit logs in Windows should contain all the info I need. I think if I search for Event ID 4624 (Logon Success) with a specific AD user and Logon Type 2 (Interactive Logon) that it should give me the information I need, but for the life of my I cannot figure out how to actually filter the Event Log to get this information. Is it possible inside of the Event Viewer or do you need to use an external tool to parse it to this level? I found http://nerdsknowbest.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/filter-security-event-logs-by-user-in.html which seemed to be part of what I needed. I modified it slightly to only give me the last 7 days worth. Below is the XML I tried. <QueryList> <Query Id="0" Path="Security"> <Select Path="Security">*[System[(EventID=4624) and TimeCreated[timediff(@SystemTime) &lt;= 604800000]]]</Select> <Select Path="Security">*[EventData[Data[@Name='Logon Type']='2']]</Select> <Select Path="Security">*[EventData[Data[@Name='subjectUsername']='Domain\Username']]</Select> </Query> </QueryList> It only gave me the last 7 days, but the rest of it did not work. I can get it to produce the results correctly until I add in the LogonType line. After that, it returns no results. Any idea why this might be? EDIT 2 I updated the LogonType line to the following: EventData[Data[@Name='LogonType'] and (Data='2' or Data='7')] This should capture Workstation Logons as well as Workstation Unlocks, but I still get nothing. I then modify it to search for other Logon Types like 3, or 8 which it finds plenty of. This leads me to believe that the query works correctly, but for some reason there are no entries in the Event Logs with Logon Type equalling 2 and this makes no sense to me. Is it possible to turn this off?

My question is if selinux is in permissive mode will selinuxtype=targeted enforce any polices? if not how did it solve the problem with apache as selinux was already in permissive mode?

• Firefox's searchbox clears as I type

  About 30% of the time, when I click on the searchbox and type in a query, it clears everything I typed half way through. For example, if I type "super user", it will clear at "super " so all I see is "user". It seems like something is stuck, but I'm not sure what. It doesn't always happen, but it seems that the auto-suggestions feature is also broken..it never works. I'm using Ubuntu 10.4. Any ideas on what could be wrong? • Sony Vaio: I can't type 'less and greater than' signs in TR keyboard layout

  I have a strange trouble with my Sony Vaio VPCCW21FX. My laptop has a Turkish Q keyboard and I'm using TR keyboard layout on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. The problem is, I cannot find a usual way to type less than or greater than signs unless I switch to EN keyboard layout. These signs are showed on the keyboard together with the Turkish letters "Ö" and "Ç", as you can see from the below photo of my laptop's keyboard. So, how can I type these signs without switching to EN keyboard layout? I tried Fn and Alt keys but it doesn't work. I need to use TR layout since I need Turkish letters while writing my documents and e-mails.

• Foremost custom file type not accepted by -t argument

  I'm trying to recover a deleted file on an ext3 file system using the foremost utility. The file I want to recover is a hpp C++ source code file. However, foremost does not automatically support the hpp file extension, so I have to add it to the config file. So, following the instructions on the man page, I add the following line to the config file: hpp n 50000 include include ASCII Then I run foremost as follows: $foremost -v -T -t hpp -i /dev/md0 -o /home/recover/ Instead of doing anything, it just displays the help message. If I change the hpp to htm or jpg, it works. So apparently foremost isn't accepting the custom file type I added into the config file. But I've looked over this dozens of times now, and I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I'm following the instructions exactly. Why doesn't foremost recognize the new file type I added to the config file?

• Type 1 Hypervisor on the desktop

  I have a powerful home PC, and I've used VirtualBox to run Linux distros in Windows (and vice versa). I'm interested in trying out a lightweight type 1 hypervisor to run all my operating systems (Windows 7, Debian, Arch) and was looking for suggestions of which to pick and how to implement this. From what I gather, a type 1 hypervisor is a lightweight OS which simply provides VM management functionality. Will I get reasonable performance under each guest OS? Can all the guest OSs have access to a shared data drive, or is is best to have a storage server in another guest OS and mount it over the virtual network? What about gaming, is this feasible, or will I realistically need to run Win7 on bare metal? I'd appreciate any input.

• Project not publishing start/finish date for custom TFS work items

  I've got a TFS 2012 project set up with custom work items, that include Start and Finish date read-only fields (Microsoft.VSTS.Scheduling.StartDate and FinishDate). When I publish one of those custom work items from within Office Project, it does not populate those fields the same way as when I publish a Task work item (builtin TFS work item). I've looked at the transitions in the work items, and also the TFS project field mapping XML file but can't find anything that explains the difference in behaviour. What am I missing?

Before I buy a physical extension cords with 2 type A receptacles, I'd like to know if I can connect these 2 devices together at all by passing data "transparently" through a Linux box with = 2 USB ports. I'm just curious to see the community feedback on my solution. This solution makes use of a static array, which is populated using type-safe enum objects before first use. • Can web apps allow fast data-typists to "type-ahead"?

  In some data entry contexts, I've seen data typists, type really fast and know so well the app they use, and have a mechanic quality in their work so that they can "type ahead", ie continue typing and "tab-bing" and "enter-ing" faster than the display updates, so that in many occasions they are typing in the data for the next form before it draws itself. Then when this next entry form appears, their keystrokes fill the text boxes and they continue typing, selecting etc. In contexts like this, this speed is desirable, since this persons are really productive. I think this "type ahead of time" is only possible in desktop apps, but I may be wrong. My question is whether this way of handling the keyboard buffer (which in desktop apps require no extra programming) is achievable in web apps, or is this impossible because of the way web apps work, handle sessions, etc (network latency and the overhead of generating new web pages ) ? Edit: By "type ahead" I mean "keyboard type ahead" (typing faster than the next entry form can load), not suggets-as-you-type-like-google type ahead. Typeahead is a feature of computers and software (and some typewriters) that enables users to continue typing regardless of program or computer operation—the user may type in whatever speed he or she desires, and if the receiving software is busy at the time it will be called to handle this later. Often this means that keystrokes entered will not be displayed on the screen immediately. This programming technique for handling user what is known as a keyboard buffer.

• How can I include my derived class type name in the serialized JSON?

  Sometimes working with the js Serializer is easy, sometimes its not.   When I attempt to serialize an object that is derived from a base, the serializer decided whether or not to include the type name. When its present, the type name is represented by a ___type attribute in the serialized json like this: {"d":{"__type":"Commerce.Integration.Surfaces.OrderCreationRequest","RepId":0}} The missing type name is a problem if I intend to ship the object back into a web method that needs to deserialize the object.   Without the Type name, serialization will fail and result in a ugly web exception. The solution, which feels more like a work-around, is to explicitly tell the serializer to ALWAYS generate the type name for each derived type.  You make this declaration by adding a [GenerateScriptType())] attribute for each derived type to the top of the web page declaration.   For example, assuming I had 3 derivations of OrderCreationRequest; PersonalOrderCreationRequest, CompanyOrderCreationRequest, InternalOrderCreationRequestion, the code-behind for my web page would be decorated as follows: [GenerateScriptType(typeof(PersonalOrderCreationRequest))] [GenerateScriptType(typeof(CompanyOrderCreationRequest))] [GenerateScriptType(typeof(InternalOrderCreationRequest))] public partial class OrderMethods : Page { ... } With the type names generated in the serialized JSON, the serializer can successfully deserialize instances of any of these types passed into a web method.   Just today I've started using Drupal for a site I'm designing/developing. For my own site http://jwm-art.net I wrote a user-unfriendly CMS in PHP. My brief experience with Drupal is making me want to convert from the CMS I wrote. A CMS whose sole method (other than comments) of automatically publishing content is by logging in via SSH and using NANO to create a plain text file in a format like so*: head<<END_HEAD title = Audio keywords= open,source,audio,sequencing,sampling,synthesis descr = Music, noise, and audio, created by James W. This configuration panel should let me choose some basic options like highlighting some news, setting a showcase banner, and so on.
