    What is a good database with support for C? I want a database that can persist changes when the program is closing and retrieve them when the user starts up the program. I was thinking maybe like SQLite or Berkeley DB. Some documentation would be great too.

  • Good C++ Debugging/IDE Environment for Linux?

    I have a friend who is trying to make the switch to Linux, but is hung up on the apparent lack of debugging/IDE environments for C++, especially as they relate to template programming. He has been using visual studio for years and is maybe a little spoiled by their awesome IDE. Does anyone have any good suggestions for an environment where he can, under Linux, develop and debug with all of the usual things (Breakpoints, line highlighting for compilation errors, step in/over/out/etc, etc) that he's accustomed to?     Hi Guys, I've written a kind of navigation system for pedestrians. The only thing is, that I need a criterion to finish the navigation. My values are gives as lat/long pairs. What would you assume would be a good value to say, both positions are equal/near enough to tell the user that he has reached the goal? Please keep also in mind, that it's idfficult to say "directly equal", because GPS modules may have variances... greetz from europe, poeschlorn

    I've looked around a bit for a great JavaScript Sprite Sheet animator lib/engine but couldn't find any good ones so I thought I'd ask around =). What I'm looking for in the engine is: Animate an image in a non-canvas setting (ex: div via css or img tags) Control frame rate/animation speed Flags to loop or to animate once etc. Are there any engines like this out there? If not I can always make my own but then again, I don't want to re-invent the wheel =].

    I've created a Sphinx document using sphinx-quickstart. Are there any good examples/tutorials about customizing the look? Specifically to modify the header and add a logo. Are there some projects with downloadable Sphinx docs? I would like to see how they've customized their look. update: Adding a logo is supported in the default setup, just not particularly well documented. Look in conf.py for the *_logo settings.`

    My friend has convinced me to start learning some C++, so my question is simple: where can I find some good tutorials for it? But please don't link me to the usual dry boring tutorials that only tells you the function syntax, I need more thorough explanations. I get sidetracked very easily, and I need tutorials that are more on a human level, that I'll not only learn from, but enjoy reading as well. So I'd appreciate any links that would help :)

    Hi, Does anyone know a good way to debug errors in the Visual Studio Designer? In our project we have tons of UserControls and many complex forms. For the complex ones, the Designer often throws various exceptions which doesn't help much and was wondering if there's some nice way to figure out what has gone wrong.
