• Attach a Wordpress.org blog to my BigCommerece Store as a sub-domain

  I am stuck in a peculiar situation. I have a store on BigCommerece configured with a domain from GoDaddy (mystore.com). I recently created a custom wordpress blog and hosted it on 1and1 hosting (s418783372.onlinehome.us), since bigcommerece can't host Wordpress. Now I want to use it from a sub-domain of my main-bigcommerece store (models.mystore.com), but it doesn't seem to be working since BigCommerce is the Doman Manager, but GoDaddy is the Domain-Registrar and 1and1 is the host so it doesn't control the domain. I have tried setting up a CNAME record on BigCommerece and when it didn't work asked BigCommerece about it, but they said they can't do anything about it since they aren't the domain registrar and gave me a message saying: The responsiblity to show the name in the browser on the site is up to the server or site admin. The Cname can only get the browser there

• www.domain redirecting to google?

  Note: A while back i had no place to host my domain, then via namecheap i set it to forward my domain to google I bought webhosting again today and everything was working fine. I set up vhosts and set up www.domain as the server alias. Both worked. Then i tried to set up a alternate subdomain test.domain, but failed (I did it by creating a alternate vhost right below the current one) as it kept redirecting to google. As a test, i replaced the www with test in serveralias, it still redirected to google but now even www redirects to google. I am using cloudflare, and i am really confused how to go about this. I tried listing www as a cname and as a A record, still redirecting to google. I tried checking via proxies e.t.c, its universal and hence not a problem of my PC. Please help, i am really distressed by this. I am running a ubuntu 13.10 x32 stack with LAMP. • Difference in stats on the same domain - seo related

  Recently i started to optimize my company's website. With a little help of market samurai. One of the adjustments was a www redirect to the prefered domain. We currently rank on #8 for our desired keyword with the domain without the www. If I add a custom url (our domain with www), we see a difference in stats BLP (backlinks to the page) {it's the website on top} Can anyone tell me how i could merge this so we might even rank better for our keyword? What I did so far: 3 weeks ago set the www.duo.be as prefered domain in GWT and put a 301 redirect in place so the duo.be gets redirected to www.duo.be Both domains are in GWT and both with www.duo.be as preferred domain. • Pinging/connecting to server.domain.local never works, but server does when the search domain is specified

  This is a bit of a weird one. I'm running ubuntu on a Windows domain. If I type "ping server" I can ping correctly and I can connect without any problems. It looks up my search domain (domain.local) and everything is hunky dory. Problem is when I try to ping server.domain.local. It just can't look up the server and comes back with "ping: unknown host server.domain.local" Part of me thinks that the name servers aren't set correctly, but I wonder if there is something I can do to get around it.

• DomainContext class is not created in a RIA services class library solution

  I have created a RIA services class library project and things are not going as I expected. The problem is that when I add domain service classes to the server project, the corresponding domain context classes are not generated on the client project. I start by creating a new project of type WCF RIA services class library. The generated solution has two projects: RIAServicesLibrary1 (the Silverlight class library project) and RIAServicesLibrary1.Web (the class library that will hold the services). Then I add a new project item to RIAServicesLibrary1.Web of type DomainServiceClass. I add a sample method so that the resulting class code is: namespace RIAServicesLibrary1.Web { using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations; using System.Linq; using System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Hosting; using System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Server; // TODO: Create methods containing your application logic. [EnableClientAccess()] public class DomainService1 : DomainService { [Invoke] void DoSomething() { } } } Then I generate the whole solution and... nothing happens on the client project. The Generated_Code folder is empty, and the domain context object for the service is not here. Funny enough, if I add a new item of type Authentication domain service, it works as expected: the file RIAServicesLibrary1.Web.g.cs is created on the client project, containing the AuthenticationDomainService1 class as expected. So what's happening here? Am I doing something wrong? Note: I am using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate RTM and WCF RIA services 1.0.

• Create static instances of a class inside said class in Python

  Apologies if I've got the terminology wrong here—I can't think what this particular idiom would be called. I've been trying to create a Python 3 class that statically declares instances of itself inside itself—sort of like an enum would work. Here's a simplified version of the code I wrote: class Test: A = Test("A") B = Test("B") def __init__(self, value): self.value = value def __str__(self): return "Test: " + self.value print(str(Test.A)) print(str(Test.B)) Writing this, I got an exception on line 2 (A = Test("A")). I assume line 3 would also error if it had made it that far. Using __class__ instead of Test gives the same error. File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "<stdin>", line 2, in Test NameError: name 'Test' is not defined Is there any way to refer to the current class in a static context in Python? I could declare these particular variables outside the class or in a separate class, but for clarity's sake, I'd rather not if I can help it. To better demonstrate what I'm trying to do, here's the same example in Java: public class Test { private static final Test A = new Test("A"); private static final Test B = new Test("B"); private final String value; public Test(String value) { this.value = value; } public String toString() { return "Test: " + value; } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(A); System.out.println(B); } } This works as you would expect: it prints: Test: A Test: B How can I do the same thing in Python?

• Objective C - creating concrete class instances from base class depending upon type

  Just to give a real world example, say the base class is Vehicle and concrete classes are TwoWheeler and FourWheeler. Now the type of the vehicle - TwoWheeler or FourWheeler, is decided by the base class Vehicle. When I create an instance of TwoWheeler/FourWheeler using alloc-init method, it calls the super implementation like below to set the value of common properties defined in the Vehicle class and out of these properties one of them is type that actually decides if the type is TwoWheeler or FourWheeler. if (self = [super initWithDictionary:dict]){ [self setOtherAttributes:dict]; return self; } Now when I get a collection of vehicles some of them could be TwoWheeler and others will be FourWheeler. Hence I cannot directly create an instance of TwoWheeler or FourWheeler like this Vehicle *v = [[TwoWheeler alloc] initWithDictionary:dict]; Is there any way I can create an instance of base class and once I know the type, create an instance of child class depending upon type and return it. With the current implementation, it would result in infinite loop because I call super implementation from concrete class. What would be the perfect design to handle this scenario when I don't know which concrete class should be instantiated beforehand?

Does this change make my web application nobbled in development and test environments? MySQL supports autoincrement on a primary key column but does support sequence objects, for example. Is there a cleaner way to implement this sort of 'only when in production mode' without loading up the domain class?

• Hibernate HQL and Grails- How do I compare collections?

  Hi everyone (my first post!), I have an HQL question (in Groovy/Grails) I was hoping someone could help me with. I have a simple Asset object with a one-to-many Tags collection. class Asset { Set tags static hasMany = [tags:Tag] } class Tag { String name } What I'm trying to do in HQL: A user passes in some tags in params.tags (ex: groovy grails rocks) and wants to return Asset(s) that have those tags, and only those exact tags. Here's my HQL that returns Assets if one or more of the tags are present in an Assets tags: SELECT DISTINCT a FROM Asset a LEFT JOIN a.tags t WHERE t IN (:tags) assetList = Asset.executeQuery( hql, [tags:tokenizedTagListFromParams] The above code works perfect, but its really like an OR. If any of the tag(s) are found, it will return that Asset. I only want to return Assets that have those exact same tags (in number as well). Every time a new tag is created, I new Tag(name:xxx).save() so I can get the Tag instances and unique ID's for each tag that was asked for. I also tried converting the passed in tags to a list of Tag instances with Tag.findByName(t1) for each tag, and also a list of (unique) Tag Id's into the HQL above with no luck. • Same session and session ID for different subdomains in Grails project - How can I do that?

  I am currently working on a project that supports multiple languages. In order to be seo friendly, I am trying to redirect users subdomains corresponding to their locale (or their preferred language). I.e., my projects's url is mydomain.com and I work with the subdomains en.mydomain.com, es.mydomain.com, de.mydomain.com, fr.mydomain.com ... you get the idea. All subdomains are served by the same grails app for now. What happens is that my grails project maintains different sessions (as seen by the session ids) for every single subdomain, hence information is lost, when a user switches between languages. I had not forseen that. :( How can I explicitly set the session identifier? I would like it to be based on just mydomain.com. I got the hint that Apache Tomcat offers something like <Context sessionCookiePath="/" sessionCookieDomain=".mydomain.com"> , but that does not help for the devel environment etc. Any hints? Have you tried storing session information in the DB? This is sometimes used for load-balancing purposes and might help here as well?! Help is highly appreciated (as always)! Cheers!

• cross domain DOM access and manipulation in Java ?

  In my Java app, how can I incorporate the browser (which loads and renders URLs) in Swing and access it's DOM and manipulate HTML ? How can you embed such browser in a Rich Internet Application and access it's DOM ? More specifically, Vaadin ? Is there a HTTP proxy class that can load an external URL, and render it to the user ? This was what I was doing on LAMP stack....but I want to switch to Vaadin or some Java web framework where I can just use Java to do everything from server-side to client-side logic design, so I can focus more on application logic.   In the past several years doing web development I often times needed to buy new domain names. I changed registrars a lot also so over the years I have multiple domain names scattered over different registrars all over the world. Now I want to bring a little structure into my business, and I am at the point that I want to be able to have easy control over my domain names in a convenient way. Does anyone have an idea on what the best way is to give structure on this. I have made some suggestions maybe you can comment on them for me. 1) Just leave it as it is I can leave everything as it is. To make adjustments I have to log into different panels, and for some registrars I have to email the changes. 2) Transfer all the domains to one registar This will cost a lot, about 10 usd per domain name. But if I can find a registar where I have full control over DNS this is worth looking at. Can you give me some comments on how you are doing things now. Maybe also which registrar you prefer on doing things.

  I have an Exchange 2010 that has several accepted domains. Now I want this server to accept - besides the default SMTP domain - all subdomains of the default domain. The documentation in Technet states When you create an accepted domain, you can use a wildcard character (*) in the address space to indicate that all subdomains of the SMTP address space are also accepted by the Exchange organization. For example, to configure Contoso.com and all its subdomains as accepted domains, enter *.Contoso.com as the SMTP address space. It is, however not possible to add e. g. *.contoso.com if contoso.com is already configured. Exchange complains in this case that the domain is already configured. It is also not possible to edit the "value", i. e. the domain name of an accepted domain. I know that I cannot modify the default accepted domain, but changing it to another does not help either, because the domain name itself can never be edited. The last idea was deleting the accepted domain and re-creating it with "*." prepended. This is, however, also impossible because it is of course not possible to delete or modify the default address policy and if a domain name is used in an address template it cannot be removed from the accepted domains. The question is: How can I make my Exchange 2010 server accept any subdomain of its default accepted domain with a wildcard?

The goal is to be able to grab the RSS feed, parse it to grab the titles and links and spit it out into some HTML on any website on the web. I"m basically making a simple RSS widget for my site's various RSS feeds. My Javascript is wack Also, I'm really a beginner with Javascript. I know jQuery pretty well, but I wasn't able to use it in this case, because this script will be embeded on any site and I can't really rely on the jQuery library. So I was decided to write some basic Javascript relying on the default XML parsing options available. Any suggestions here would be cool. Thanks! What's with the x and y They way my site creates RSS feeds is that the first title is actually the RSS feed title. The second title is the title of the first item. The first link is the link to the first item. So when using the javascript to get the title, I had to first grab the first title (which is the RSS title) and then start with the second title that being the first title of the item. Sorry for the confusion, but I don't think this is related to my issue. Just wanted to clarify my code.
