SMB returns the entire file instead of header info

Starting a section of code checks for access to many data files (flat files so each table is a file) and when I do a packet capture, in our capture only the header info is sent by the server to the client. However I have one Customer who is using a SAN that gets the whole file instead of just the header info,and besides just being slower, this is causing file access issues. They have already turned off OPLOCKS at the server and at the workstations. This is not client server. The data files and the application reside on the server but the users run the application locally via a shortcut with a mapped drive or UNC. So when I simply select an option that prompts for a vehicle number, not tryng to select a record but rather simply verify the datafiles are accessible, that window opens in 1-2 seconds for me. When they do the same thing it takes 6-15 seconds after there several users are running the program. Maximum number of users is 15. The program has a lot of small modules, 800 .cob modules. So it is very chatty but these are datafiles. We have Wireshark captures that show he's pulling the whole file and we're just getting the header. Thier capture vs ours. We suspect the SAN. Has anyone ever heard of a SAN improperly interpreting runtime requests? So an SMB request. This is Acucobol-GT (now Microfocus). The application is written in COBOL. This is not a new program just a new problem. This is one customer of over a thousand who are otherwise running smoothly and we are totally stumped. All XP users, the server is Windows 2003 (with Virtual server) and I don't yet know the SAN info. Also we have many installations running virtual servers but only few on SANs or we just don't know it. This is not a network throught put issue, the load is less than 5% on the server and theer are no timeout or retransmits. PS If it wasn't for Wireshark I'd still be chasing my tail. An application trace file on thier installation just looks like they run slower. If you want the Wireshark trace file I can make it available. Thunderbird: moving email from local Junk folder to IMAP folder yields "Message contains invalid header"

Whenever I try to move an email from a local Junk folder to an IMAP folder in Thunderbird, I get the following error message: The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Message contains invalid header If Thunderbird's Junk folder is an IMAP folder on the server, then after Thunderbird has moved messages to that folder, I can successfully move messages from Junk back into to some other IMAP folder. However, if the Junk folder is not on the server, then moving a message from the local Junk folder to an IMAP folder yields the aforementioned error. The only interesting thing I've found about this error is "Message contains invalid header" from the MozillaZine Knowledge Base. That article officially is about importing folders from another email client, and does not mention the Junk filter as another possible cause. However the proposed solution is not very helpful since it requires manual editing of the message box files. Any better ideas? EDIT: make sure you read the comments before answering the question.

Rails: Accessing the username/password used for HTTP Basic Auth?

I'm building a basic API where user information can be retrieved after that user's login and password are correctly sent. Right now I'm using something like this: http://foo:[email protected]/api/user.xml So, what I need to do is access the user/password sent in the request (the foo and bar) but am not sure how to access that info in a Rails controller. Then I'd check those variables via a quick User.find and then set those as the username and password variables for authenticate_or_request_with_http_basic. It's possible I'm looking at this at the completely wrong way, but that's where I'm at right now. :)

[Flex 4] Removing sort arrows from AdvancedDataGridColumn Header.

Hello, I am doing this simple project using Flex 4 SDK and I got stuck with this simple problem: I have turned sortable property for AdvancedDataGridColumn to false, but the column header is still rendered as: As You can see, my label for this header is "06", but the column header is divided and it keeps the place for sort arrow. How can I change this? I would like my column header to contain only my label. I know that most probably I need to do some magic with AdvancedDataGridHeaderRenderer but I just started learning Flex and would like to receive some help. Thank You for help. Best regards, Mike.

Change Envelope From to match From header in Postfix

I am using Postfix as a gateway for my domain and need it to change or rewrite the Envelope From address to match the From header. For example, the From: header is "[email protected]" and the Envelope From is "[email protected]". I want Postfix to make the Envelope From "[email protected]" before relaying it on. I took a look at the Postfix Address Rewriting document but couldn't find anything that matched my use case. (In case you're curious why I need to do this: Gmail uses the same Envelope From when sending from a particular account, no matter which From: address you choose to use. I would prefer not to disclose the account being used to send the email. Also, it messes with SPF/DMARC domain alignment - see 4.2.2 of the DMARC draft spec.)

edit opencart header.tpl

I'm trying to edit the header.tpl of an opencart website that uses vqmod - I need to add some more info (text) to each menu link, so basically edit the header file. I've looked into the vqmod manager and files but I can't seem to get it right. Unfortunately, whenever I try to edit the header file, the site breaks -I've tried editing the cached vqmod files as well, no luck with that. Is there a way to reset the vqmod / disable it, then edit the header.tpl and enable vqmod again? Do I need to install a new theme and start from scratch ? Thanks heaps!

Need only to change links from https to http to access files with no SSL?

I have SSL enabled for subdomain.mydomain.com so I can access files via https://subdomain.mydomain.com. Now please tell me if I'm right.. if I have file somwhere in subdomain.mydomain.com called index.php I can securely access it via: https://subdomain.mydomain.com/someFolder/index.php but I can also access it via http://subdomain.mydomain.com/someFolder/index.php This time communication won't be encrypted though. So now it comes down to links only if I access files in subdomain.mydomain.com securely or not? I will have another related question (and many more probably), but will post it as separate topic to keep things clean :)

Header unset Server not working for static files

I'm trying to unset the "Server" field in response headers. I do this using Header unset Server, and that works fine for requests handled by mod_perl. However, for requests to /static I use Apache to serve static files. For some reason, when these files are loaded directly in the browser, the Server field is not removed. How can I go about fixing this? Apache webserver setup added: AddType application/x-mpegURL .m3u8 AddType video/MP2T .ts to "httpd.conf" file. Movie file preparation I have 3 movie files (9mb - 25mb each). Used QuickTime to convert movies into iPhone format. Used mediafilesegmenter to convert .m4v into 10-second segments of .ts files, with an accompanying .m3u8 file. Placed these in a folder on webserver. iPhone App implementation Created UIWebView whose URL points to http://71.191.59.68/~yujean/stream.html Simulator accesses the site and streams the movie-files just fine. Question Will I still get rejected by apple for bandwidth issues over the 3G and/or Edge network? Do I need to somehow check which network the end-user is on first? And then provide a different movie accordingly? If so, how do I do that ...? Thank you in advance, Eugene

Well, the question is not intended to be that big. Let me explain the scenario: I have two http servers. server A is accessible to end user by web browser, while server B is internal server which can only be accessed by server A. If server B generate some big jpeg image in local disk, obviously we can't just delivery those path to image to server A and eventually to end user. Then, how to let end user see those image without firstly storing those image data in server A temporarily? I run PHP on server A and perl on server B, but this should not matter. I need a general pattern for implementing this.

These fields basically are a shortcut to the instantiation of another model (Trip). Trip can have its own admin views, but these shortcuts are needed because when my project partners are entering 'Membership' data in the system they happen to have also the 'Trip' information handy (and also because some of the info in Membership can just be copied over to Trip etc. etc.). So all I want to have is two extra fields in the Membership Inline - placeVisited and pleasuretrip - which together with the Person instance will let me instantiate the Trip model in the background... I found out I can easily add extra fields to the inline view by defining my own form. How to Sum calulated fields

I‘d like to ask I question that here that I think would be easy to some people. Ok I have query that return records of two related tables. (One to many) In this query I have about 3 to 4 calculated fields that are based on the fields from the 2 tables. Now I want to have a group by clause for names and sum clause to sum the calculated fields but it ends up in error message saying: “You tried to execute a query that is not part of aggregate function” So I decided to just run the query without the totals *(ie no group by , sum etc,,,) : And then I created another query that totals my previous query. ( i.e. using group by clause for names and sum for calculated fields… no calculation here) This is fine ( I use to do this) but I don’t like having two queries just to get summary total. Is their any other way of doing this in the design view and create only one query?. I would very much appreciate. Thankyou: JM

I have a model called List which has many records: class List has_many :records end class Record end The table Record has 2 permanent fields: name, email. Besides these 2 fields, for each List a Record can have 'n' custom fields. For example: for list1 I add address(text), dob(date) as custom fields. Then while adding records to list one, each record can have values for address and dob. Is there any ActiveRecord plugin which provides this type of functionality? ldirectord refusing connection when nginx redirects from http to https

I am running ldirector as a load balancer to an nginx front end server. If I setup a redirect from http to https and connect directly to the nginx server, all is well. Connecting via ldirector causes my connection to be refused. I can connect normally via http or https through ldirector when I don't have the redirect in place. To add to my confusion, if my application issues a redirect from http to https, it works. I am testing this via curl on the command line. (curl: (7) couldn't connect to host vs a response) I am using the standard ldirectord config (http://www.ultramonkey.org/3/topologies/config/lb/non-fwmark/linux-director/ldirectord.cf) the http and https parts. My nginx config for the redirect is simply: location / { rewrite ^(.*) https://$host$1 permanent; }

When I get an email, there is a header From: in the actual MIME message that specifies who the sender of the email is. I notice that the format of that particular header is sometimes: From: [email protected] or From: Human Readable Name <[email protected]> Are these the only ways that standard clients format the From: header? Or are there others I should be aware of?
