• How do you manage Labeled and All-Mail unread mails in Thunderbird with a GMail IMAP accounnt?

  I use Thunderbird with gmail via imap and do so with multiple accounts. On the gmail side I have filters that will automatically assign labels to incoming mail and archive it moving it out of the inbox. On the Thunderbird side it will see the new mail appear in the corresponding folder and the all mail folder -- that's fine but my problem is that they're both marked as unread. Since I have many accounts I use the unread mail view in Thunderbird's folder panel and what I see is both folders highlighted as unread. When I read the message in one folder the other only get marked as read I click on it and Thunderbird does another imap transaction. Is there a configuration that will recognize the same mail in two different folders automatically?

I realise this seems logical but it is a potential cause of confusion when testing email functionality in a web application (for me, anyway ;-).   I have searched everywhere for this and I really want to resolve this. In the past I just end up using an SMTP service like SendGrid for PHP and a mailing plugin like SwiftMailer.   My website sends activation mails to new members using the php mail() function. I manage my email accounts using the google mail service (aspmx.googlemail.com). But unfortunately, Hotmail users receive the activation email in their unwanted folder. I did some research and found out about SPF records (I can not use keys since I have limited control over my webserver). So how do I configure my SPF record? I now have: v=spf1 a mx a:mywebsite.net include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all Would this be what I need?

• I cannot access my mongodb from internet ,Anybody can help me?

  I am using Mongodb database ,which is installed in my ubuntu with the ip address 126.22.252.25. The ubuntu version info is Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS. My mongodb use the default 27017 port .On this local machine , I can use command "mongo --host 126.22.252.25" on the local machine to access, but I cannot use this command on any other linux mathine to access the db,nor can I use "telnet 126.22.252.25 27017" on my windows machine.I am sure 126.22.252.25 machine is accessable from internet because I can use winSCP and secureCRT to login to it.I run command "netstat -tnlp" , it shows below: tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:27017 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN I have already change the /ect/mongodb.conf file , modifying bind_ip parameter from 0.0.0.0 to 126.22.252.25 So ,anyone can help me?

  For some reason my log files are writing to the *.log.1 files instead of the *.log files, e.g. for my Postfix log files it is writing to /var/log/mail.log.1 and not /var/log/mail.log as expected. Same goes for mail.err. It looks like it's also doing it for auth.log and syslog.   hello, i have an iphone 3g and can successfully send text messages using the PHP mail() function. My issue is that for each message i receive, the "telephone number" associated with the incoming text message changes each time. If possible, I would like to somehow make this number constant so that I can take advantage of iphone's ability to aggregate all text messages from the same telephone number -Otherwise my iphone would be cluttered with messages. Is there a way to attach the file with teh unfriendly name as anotehr name so that when the user gets the email he can tell from the name what the content of the file is? I'd hate to have to create a unique folder just to put a common file name in it for the purpose of simply attaching it to an email.   I am not able to install Apache 2.2 in Ubuntu 12.04. Here is a snippet from my console log (sorry, it is in German): apache2 : Hängt ab von: apache2-mpm-worker (= 2.2.22-1ubuntu1) soll aber nicht installiert werden oder apache2-mpm-prefork (= 2.2.22-1ubuntu1) aber 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.1 soll installiert werden ... That means like: apache2 depends from apa..worker, but that should not get installed OR from ap...prefork..ubuntu1, but ap...prefork..ubuntu1.1 should get installed. I have no idea how to tackle that issue..

• What is the significance of '*' (star, asterisk) in the file listing results?

  I have noticed that some of my files have an asterisk at end. Does the asterisk at the end have any particular significance? I think they are mostly executable and displayed in green by the ls command. You will see that ./bkmp* and ./bkmp0* have an asterisk at the end. They are executable bash scripts.
