  • Cakephp Insert Ignore Feature?

    - by SeanDowney
Is there a way to do an "insert ignore" in cake without using a model-query function? $this->Model->save(array( 'id' => NULL, 'guid' => $guid, 'name' => $name, )); Generates error: Warning (512): SQL Error: 1062: Duplicate entry 'GUID.....' for key 'unique_guid' [CORE/cake/libs/model/datasources/dbo_source.php, line 524] It would be great to be able to set some flag or option that says "don't care"

  • MySQL Volleyball Standings

    - by Torez
    I have a database table full of game by game results and want to know if I can calculate the following: GP (games played) Wins Loses Points (2 points for each win, 1 point for each lose) Here is my table structure: CREATE TABLE `results` ( `id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `home_team_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `home_score` int(3) unsigned NOT NULL, `visit_team_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `visit_score` int(3) unsigned NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=7 ; And a few testing results: INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(1, 1, 21, 2, 25); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(2, 3, 21, 4, 17); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(3, 1, 25, 3, 9); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(4, 2, 7, 4, 22); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(5, 1, 19, 4, 20); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(6, 2, 24, 3, 26); Here is what a final table would look like: +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+ | Team Name | GP | Wins | Loses | Points | +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+ | Spikers | 4 | 4 | 0 | 8 | | Leapers | 4 | 2 | 2 | 6 | | Ground Control | 4 | 1 | 3 | 5 | | Touch Guys | 4 | 0 | 4 | 4 | +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+

  • Best way to install multiple versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL on a single FreeBSD host

    - by Mikael Roos
I want a test- and development-environment for web using Apache, PHP and MySQL. I need to be able to test a single web-application with multiple versions of PHP (5.2, 5.3, etc) and multiple versions of MySQL (5.0, 5.1, 5.5, etc). It shall be hosted on a FreeBSD server. My idea is to compile each version into a directory structure and running them on separate portnumbers. For example: opt/apache2.2-php5.2-mysql-5.0 (httpd on port 8801, mysql on port 8802) (directory contains each software, compiled and linked towards eachother) opt/apache2.2-php5.3-mysql-5.1 (httpd on port 8803, mysql on port 8804) (and so on) Any thoughts or suggestions of the best way to setup this type of environment?

  • MySql UDF using shared library won't load

    - by Jarrod
I am attempting to create a mysql UDF which will match a fingerprint using Digital Persona's free linux SDK library. I have written a trivial UDF as a learning experience which worked fine. However, when I added a dependency to Digital Persona's shared object I can no longer get MySql to load my UDF. I added includes to DP's headers and compiled my UDF using: gcc -fPIC -Wall -I/usr/src/mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-icc-glibc23/include -shared -o dp_udf.so dp_udf.cc I also tried adding the -static argument, but whenever I restart MySql, I get the error: Can't open shared library 'dp_udf.so' (errno: 0 /usr/local/mysql/lib/plugin/dp_udf.so: undefined symbol: MC_verifyFeaturesEx) MC_verifyFeaturesEx is a function defined "dpMatch.h" which I included, and is implemented in libdpfpapi.so which I have tried placing in the same location as my dp_udf.so and in /usr/lib. Am I doing something wrong with my call to gcc (my C++ skills are rusty) or does MySql not allow UDFs to use additional shared objects?

  • MySQL 5.1 implicit cast from now() to a date field

    - by Savageman
Hello, I have an issue with MySQL 5.1. A datetime data type isn't implicitly casted to match a date column. SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE my_date_field = NOW() This request doesn't return any rows using MySQL 5.1, but works well with version 5.0. If we use CURDATE() instead of NOW() it works both in MySQL 5.0 and MySQL 5.1. If the cast is explicit (CAST(NOW() AS DATE)), it also works both in MySQL 5.0 and MySQL 5.1. The problem only appears with implicit cast from datetime to date. Doesn't anyone already encountered this issue or has a clue about how to solve this problem? I know it's not the best to use NOW() instead of CURTIME(), but this isn't the question here. It is currently used in an application and the purpose is to avoid rewriting everything. Thanks!

  • Access Insert Query

    - by tecno
Hi, I am using C# to write/read to an Access 2007 Database. The table is ID - AutoNumber [pkey] Fname - Text Lname - Text Address - Text The query string I Use is "Insert into TblMain (Fname,Lname,Address) Values ('"+fname+"','"+lname+"','"+adrs+"')" No errors are returned, the query executes but data is not added to the db. Inserting to table using which does not have an autonumber data column works perfectly. What am I missing?

  • MySQL indexes: how do they work?

    - by bob-the-destroyer
I'm a complete newbie with MySQL indexes. I have several MyISAM tables on MySQL 5.0x having utf8 charsets and collations with 100k+ records each. The primary keys are generally integer. Many columns on each table may have duplicate values. I need to quickly count, sum, average, or otherwise perform custom calculations on any number of fields in each table or joined on any number of others. I found this page giving an overview of MySQL index usage: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysql-indexes.html, but I'm still not sure I'm using indexes right. Just when I think I've made the perfect index out of a collection of fields I want to calculate against, I get the "index must be under 1000 bytes" error. Can anyone explain how to most efficiently create and use indexes to speed up queries? Caveat: upgrading Mysql is not possible in this case. Using Navicat Light for db administration, but this app isn't required.

  • How to get a list of MySQL views ?

    - by Annan
I'm looking for a way to list all views in a database. Initially I found and tried an answer on the MySQL forums: SELECT table_name FROM information_schema.views WHERE information_schema.views.table_schema LIKE 'view%'; How ever this doesn't work, returning an empty set. (I know they're in there!) These also fail: mysql> use information_schema; Database changed mysql> select * from views; ERROR 1102 (42000): Incorrect database name 'mysql.bak' mysql> select * from tables; ERROR 1102 (42000): Incorrect database name 'mysql.bak' Why isn't this working?

  • Unable to get multiple connection to MySql on Windows 7

    - by Hussain
I have installed MySql on windows 7 ... issue is i'm unable to get multiple connection to MySql . If I connect to MySql through command line and at the same time open an other MySql command line client it goes into wait state, as soon as I disconnect the first one later one gets connected. Because of above issues I'm unable to run tomcat in debug mode as it tries to get more than one connection to MySql in debug mode. Previously I was using same version of MySql i.e. 5.1 on vista and it was working fine.

  • MySQL Password Not Working

    - by 01010011
Hi, When I enter my password into MySQL Command Line Client, it rejects my password, gives 1 beep and closes the window. Can anyone provide me with a basic troubleshooting list of steps (from simple to progressively more technical) to regain entry into MySQL once and for all. Also, can anyone tell me what can cause my password to suddenly be rejected? I am also running XAMPP and the MySQL service is both installed and running. Thanks in advance. I remember when I first got this problem some months ago, if I recall correctly, I solved it by starting the MySQL service from Windows XP's Administrative Tool (something I did stopped the MySQL service and to this day I don't know what it was). Now the problem has started back again but this time, when I checked Services, the MySQL service was already 'started'. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks

  • Run a SQL Script Against MySQL using Powershell

    - by abarr
I have a Powershell script that backs up my MySQL DB's each night using mysqldump. This all works fine but I would like to extend the script to update a reporting db (db1) from the backup of the prod db (db2). I have written the following test script but it does not work. I have a feeling the problem is the reading of the sql file to the CommandText but I am not sure how to debug. [system.reflection.assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("MySql.Data") $mysql_server = "localhost" $mysql_user = "root" $mysql_password = "password" write-host "Create coonection to db1" # Connect to MySQL database 'db1' $cn = New-Object -TypeName MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection $cn.ConnectionString = "SERVER=$mysql_server;DATABASE=db1;UID=$mysql_user;PWD=$mysql_password" $cn.Open() write-host "Running backup script against db1" # Run Update Script MySQL $cm = New-Object -TypeName MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlCommand $sql = Get-Content C:\db2.sql $cm.Connection = $cn $cm.CommandText = $sql $cm.ExecuteReader() write-host "Closing Connection" $cn.Close() Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • MySQL InnoDB disappeared, all InnoDB data cant be accessed

    - by dogmatic69
Mysql (including InnoDB) was working fine, after a restart the other day when mysql starts it says in the logs: 140604 23:36:07 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled. 140604 23:36:07 [Note] Plugin 'InnoDB' is disabled. In the app it says: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1286 Unknown storage engine 'InnoDB' Now, according to google this is a very simple fix, just remove the ib_logfile[0|1] files, which I have done and does not do anything. I started by making a full copy of the data dir for testing various 'fixes'. I have also uninstalled mysql and reinstalled it with no change, I just cant get it to run with innodb working anymore :/ # mysql --version mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.37, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.3 I have also tried the innodb_force_recovery setting, 0 - 6, Any time I run a command on an InnoDB table it says innodb_force_recovery LOGS (from around the time it died) was working here Version: '5.5.37-0ubuntu0.14.04.1' socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' port: 3306 (Ubuntu) 140530 1:24:22 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Normal shutdown 140530 1:24:22 [Note] Event Scheduler: Purging the queue. 0 events 140530 1:24:22 InnoDB: Starting shutdown... 140530 1:24:24 InnoDB: Shutdown completed; log sequence number 3345857316 140530 1:24:24 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown complete 140530 22:03:12 [Warning] Using unique option prefix myisam-recover instead of myisam-recover-options is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. • $query returns results but not the ones i want: $query looks good to me :S

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
I'll start again, Lets say My data is: Table element (id,name,....) 1, name element 1, .... 2, name element 2, .... 3, name element 3, .... Table tags (id,name,id_element, ....) 1, happy , 1 2, result, 1 3, very , 1 4, element, 2 5, another, 3 6, element, 1 7, happy, 2 So if search is 'very, happy, element, result': Results i would like 1) element with id = 2 because it has all tags 2) element with id = 1 because it has the tag 'element' and the tag 'happy' (only 2 less taggs) 3) .... (only 3 less taggs) So if search is 'happy, element': Results i would like 1) element with id = 1 because it has all tags (and no more) 2) element with id = 2 because it has the tag 'element' and the tag 'happy' (and two more tags) 3) .... and 3 more tags This is an echo to my query: (it doesn't fit al requirements i wrote, but its first test to find with matched tags) SELECT element.id as id_deseada,tagg.* FROM element, tagg WHERE tagg.id_element = element.id AND tagg.nombre IN ('happy','tagg','result') GROUP BY tagg.id_element ORDER BY element.votos This returns 10 duplicated elements... :S and doen't even have all taggs (and on database there are taggs with 'happy' results) if it helps, thats how i get the elements of a tag (by name and with only one tagg) $query = "SELECT element.id FROM element, tagg WHERE tagg.nombre = '$nombre_tagg' AND tagg.id_element = element.id AND lan = '$lan' GROUP BY tagg.id_element"; I hope it's a bit easier to understand now, excuse my english.. :) Thanks a lot for you possible aportation!

  • Adding Insert Row in tableView

    - by user333624
Hello everyone, I have a tableView that loads its data directly from a Core Data table with a NSFetchedResultsController. I'm not using an intermediate NSMutableArray to store the objects from the fetch results; I basically implemented inside my UITableViewController the protocol method numberOfRowsInSection and it returns the numberOfObjects inside a NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo. id <NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo> sectionInfo = [[fetchedResultsController sections] objectAtIndex:section]; and then I configure the cell content by implementing configureCell:atIndexPath and retrieving object info from the fetchedResultController but right now I have a generic configuration for any object (to avoid complications) cell.textLabel.text = @"categoria"; I also have a NavigationBar with a custom edit button at the right that loads my own selector called customSetEditing. What I'm trying to accomplish is to load an "Insert Cell" at the beginning of the tableView so when I tap it, it creates a new record. This last part is easy to implement the problem is that I dont's seem to be able to load the insert row or any row when I tap on the navigation bar edit button. this is the code for my customSetEditing: - (void) customSetEditing { [super setEditing:YES animated:YES]; [self.tableView setEditing:YES animated:YES]; [[self tableView] beginUpdates]; //[[self tableView] beginUpdates]; UIBarButtonItem *customDoneButtonItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemDone target:self action:@selector(customDone)]; [self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem release]; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = customDoneButtonItem; //[categoriasArray insertObject:[NSNull null] atIndex:0]; NSMutableArray *indexPaths = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:[NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:0 inSection:0],nil ]; [self.tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:indexPaths withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationTop]; //[indexPaths release]; [self.tableView reloadData];} Before adding the:[self.tableView reloadData]; I was getting an out of bounds error plus a program crash and although the program is not crashing it is not loading anything. I have seen many examples of similar situations in stackoverflow (by the way is an excellent forum with very helpful and nice people) none of the examples seems to work for me. Any ideas?

  • How to create a MySQL query for time based elements with a 'safe window'?

    - by pj4533
I am no SQL expert, far from it. I am writing a Rails application, and I am new at that as well. I come from a desktop programming background. My application has a table of data, one of the columns is the time at which the data was logged. I want to create a query with a 'safe window' around EACH row. By that I mean, it returns the first row, then for X minutes (based on the timelogged column) it won't return any data, once X minutes is up, it will return the next row. For example: ID | TimeLogged 1 | 3/5/2010 12:01:01 2 | 3/5/2010 12:01:50 3 | 3/5/2010 12:02:03 4 | 3/5/2010 12:10:30 5 | 3/5/2010 01:30:03 6 | 3/5/2010 01:31:05 With a 'safe window' of 5 minutes I want to create a query to return: 1 | 3/5/2010 12:01:01 4 | 3/5/2010 12:10:30 5 | 3/5/2010 01:30:03 (It skipped the 12:01:50 and 12:02:03 items because they occurred within 5 minutes of the first item.) Another example, with a 'safe window' of 15 minutes I want to return: 1 | 3/5/2010 12:01:01 5 | 3/5/2010 01:30:03 Perhaps I have to just return all data and parse it myself?

  • insert into select from other table

    - by user3815079
I need to add multiple records based on data from another table where the event is the same. I've found on this forum insert into table2(id,name) select "001",first_name from table1 where table1.id="001" as possible solution for my question. So I thought this should be the following syntax: insert into reservations(event, seat) select "99",id from seats where seats.id>0 to add all seats to event 99. However when I run this query mysql gives the message 'MySQL returned an empty resultset (0 rows). (query 0.0028 sec)' and no records were added. I translated the message so could be sligthly different. When I only use the "select "99",id from seats where seats.id0" query, it returns me 1080 rows.

  • SQL SERVER – Disable Clustered Index and Data Insert

    - by pinaldave
Earlier today I received following email. “Dear Pinal, [Removed unrelated content] We looked at your script and found out that in your script of disabling indexes, you have only included non-clustered index during the bulk insert and missed to disabled all the clustered index. Our DBA[name removed] has changed your script a bit and included all the clustered indexes. Since our application is not working. When DBA [name removed] tried to enable clustered indexes again he is facing error incorrect syntax error. We are in deep problem [word replaced] [Removed Identity of organization and few unrelated stuff ]“ I have replied to my client and helped them fixed the problem. What really came to my attention is the concept of disabling clustered index. Let us try to learn a lesson from this experience. In this case, there was no need to disable clustered index at all. I had done necessary work when I was called in to work on tuning project. I had removed unused indexes, created few optimal indexes and wrote a script to disable few selected high cost indexes when bulk insert (and similar) operations are performed. There was another script which rebuild all the indexes as well. The solution worked till they included clustered index in disabling the script. Clustered indexes are in fact original table (or heap) physically ordered (any more things – not scope of this article) according to one or more keys(columns). When clustered index is disabled data rows of the disabled clustered index cannot be accessed. This means there will be no insert possible. When non clustered indexes are disabled all the data related to physically deleted but the definition of the index is kept in the system. Due to the same reason even reorganization of the index is not possible till the clustered index (which was disabled) is rebuild. Now let us come to the second part of the question, regarding receiving the error when clustered index is ‘enabled’. This is very common question I receive on the blog. (The following statement is written keeping the syntax of T-SQL in mind) Clustered indexes can be disabled but can not be enabled, they have to rebuild. It is intuitive to think that something which we have ‘disabled’ can be ‘enabled’ but the syntax for the same is ‘rebuild’. This issue has been explained here: SQL SERVER – How to Enable Index – How to Disable Index – Incorrect syntax near ‘ENABLE’. Let us go over this example where inserting the data is not possible when clustered index is disabled. USE AdventureWorks GO -- Create Table CREATE TABLE [dbo].[TableName]( [ID] [int] NOT NULL, [FirstCol] [varchar](50) NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_TableName] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO -- Create Nonclustered Index CREATE UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [IX_NonClustered_TableName] ON [dbo].[TableName] ([FirstCol] ASC) GO -- Populate Table INSERT INTO [dbo].[TableName] SELECT 1, 'First' UNION ALL SELECT 2, 'Second' UNION ALL SELECT 3, 'Third' GO -- Disable Nonclustered Index ALTER INDEX [IX_NonClustered_TableName] ON [dbo].[TableName] DISABLE GO -- Insert Data should work fine INSERT INTO [dbo].[TableName] SELECT 4, 'Fourth' UNION ALL SELECT 5, 'Fifth' GO -- Disable Clustered Index ALTER INDEX [PK_TableName] ON [dbo].[TableName] DISABLE GO -- Insert Data will fail INSERT INTO [dbo].[TableName] SELECT 6, 'Sixth' UNION ALL SELECT 7, 'Seventh' GO /* Error: Msg 8655, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The query processor is unable to produce a plan because the index 'PK_TableName' on table or view 'TableName' is disabled. */ -- Reorganizing Index will also throw an error ALTER INDEX [PK_TableName] ON [dbo].[TableName] REORGANIZE GO /* Error: Msg 1973, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot perform the specified operation on disabled index 'PK_TableName' on table 'dbo.TableName'. */ -- Rebuliding should work fine ALTER INDEX [PK_TableName] ON [dbo].[TableName] REBUILD GO -- Insert Data should work fine INSERT INTO [dbo].[TableName] SELECT 6, 'Sixth' UNION ALL SELECT 7, 'Seventh' GO -- Clean Up DROP TABLE [dbo].[TableName] GO I hope this example is clear enough. There were few additional posts I had written years ago, I am listing them here. • MySQL query, 2 similar servers, 2 minute difference in execution times

    - by mr12086
I had a similar question on stack overflow, but it seems to be more server/mysql setup related than coding. The queries below all execute instantly on our development server where as they can take upto 2 minutes 20 seconds. The query execution time seems to be affected by home ambiguous the LIKE string's are. If they closely match a country that has few matches it will take less time, and if you use something like 'ge' for germany - it will take longer to execute. But this doesn't always work out like that, at times its quite erratic. Sending data appears to be the culprit but why and what does that mean. • Memory allocation error from MySql ODBC 5.1 driver in C# application on insert statement

    - by Chinjoo
    I have a .NET Wndows application in C#. It's a simple Windows application that is using the MySql 5.1 database community edition. I've downloaded the MySql ODBC driver and have created a dsn to my database on my local machine. On my application, I can perform get type queries without problems, but when I execute a given insert statement (not that I've tried doing any others), I get the following error: {"ERROR [HY001] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.0.27-community-nt]Memory allocation error"} I'm running on a Windows XP machine. My machine has 1 GB of memory. Anyone have any ideas? See code below OdbcConnection MyConn = DBConnection.getDBConnection(); int result = -1; try { MyConn.Open(); OdbcCommand myCmd = new OdbcCommand(); myCmd.Connection = MyConn; myCmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; OdbcParameter userName = new OdbcParameter("@UserName", u.UserName); OdbcParameter password = new OdbcParameter("@Password", u.Password); OdbcParameter firstName = new OdbcParameter("@FirstName", u.FirstName); OdbcParameter LastName = new OdbcParameter("@LastName", u.LastName); OdbcParameter sex = new OdbcParameter("@sex", u.Sex); myCmd.Parameters.Add(userName); myCmd.Parameters.Add(password); myCmd.Parameters.Add(firstName); myCmd.Parameters.Add(LastName); myCmd.Parameters.Add(sex); myCmd.CommandText = mySqlQueries.insertChatUser; result = myCmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (Exception e) { //{"ERROR [HY001] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.0.27-community-nt]Memory // allocation error"} EXCEPTION ALWAYS THROWN HERE } finally { try { if (MyConn != null) MyConn.Close(); } finally { } }
