  • How do I use grep to extract a specific field value from lines

    I have lines in a file which look like the following ....... DisplayName="john" .......... where .... represents variable number of other fields. Using the following grep command, I am able to extract all the lines which have a valid 'DisplayName' field grep DisplayName="[0-9A-Za-z[:space:]]*" e:\test However, I wish to extract just the name (ie "john") from each line instead of the whole line which is returned by grep. I tried pipelining the output to the cut command but it does not accept string delimiters.

    I have a set of classes which are all derived from a common base class. I want to use these classes polymorphically. The interface defines a set of getter methods whose return values are constant across a given derived class, but vary from one derived class to another. e.g.: enum AVal { A_VAL_ONE, A_VAL_TWO, A_VAL_THREE }; enum BVal { B_VAL_ONE, B_VAL_TWO, B_VAL_THREE }; class Base { //... virtual AVal getAVal() const = 0; virtual BVal getBVal() const = 0; //... }; class One : public Base { //... AVal getAVal() const { return A_VAL_ONE }; BVal getBVal() const { return B_VAL_ONE }; //... }; class Two : public Base { //...     Given this code, where we load a lot of data, write it to a file, and then run an exe.. void myMethod() { Map stuff = createMap(); //Consumes 250 MB memory File file = createFileInput(stuff); //Create input for exe runExectuable(file); //Run Windows exe } What is the best way to release the memory consumed by stuff prior to running the exe? We don't need this in memory any more as we have dumped the data to a file for input to the exe... Is the best method to just set stuff = null prior to runExecutable(file)?

    Hi, I'm using this XML classes for the first time and can't find this piece of info. I'm doing: xmlDoc = new XDocument(new XDeclaration("1.0", "utf-8", "yes")); xmlDoc.Add(new XElement("Images")); xmlDoc .Save("C:\\Backup\\images.xml"); But doesn't work. It only works if I use just the filename, like "images.xml", but of course, the file gets saved on the execution path.

    We have an existing Subversion repository that uses LDAP to manage users/passwords. There are some new users who we would like to provide read-only access to SVN. I did some Google searches and found a way to open up read-only access to anonymous users, but this is not what we want. We do not want to open up SVN to everyone. We still want to control login through LDAP, but we would like to prevent certain named users from being able to add/edit/delete. I am assuming this can be done with a hook (pre-commit?), but I have no experience writing hooks. Can someone show me or point me to an example of how to do this?

  • Extending Zend_Log for application-specific need

    I am building a Zend Framework application that performs jobs submitted by the user. The actions taken need to be logged to a database. I would like to correlate the job with its log entries. Instead of creating my own logging class, I would like to extend Zend_Log since it provides 99% of the functionality that I need. All I need to do is add a foreign key of the job id to the log data model. Is this possible? I'm also looking for a good example of Zend_Log writing to a database. I haven't searched SO yet. Right now, I have imzip.zip which has three txt files: a.txt b.txt c.txt When I try to load imzip.zip using: http://pastebin.com/m1d974990 It loads the files alphabetically. In this case: a.txt b.txt c.txt However, I would like to be able to have the class load on different variables such as by size, date or simply random. The problem is I have no idea how I would go about modifying the class to fit my needs. I would really appreciate your help! :D

    Is there a way to do the following. We need to have a few basic cck types that will allow users to track their chosen parameters over a length of time. For example, one cck type may be called "numeric tracker" It would have a field for labeling the type and a field for entering a number. User A might label one numeric tracker "miles driven". Then each day user A would use this type to enter a number. User B might label a numeric tracker "hours slept". Each day user B would enter a number. Is there a way to use cck in this way?

  • Edit Mode Delete Spinner Icon for Specific TableView Rows

    I have a grouped tableview. Each section has three rows. I need to be able to delete one section at a time. Using the standard edit mode, I can make it work. However, the delete icon shows up to the left of each cell, not just the first row in each section. Is there a way to suppress the little spinner icon for all rows except the first? I am hoping there is an easy way to do this without subclassing. Thanks for your help. First off, my sql skills are not great (I don't even know if I'm following the correct format for illustrating the db).     I have been playing around with an installation of SOLR that indexes some data from my database. I am able to index data and query it back but I was wondering about how field name queries work. For certain fields I am able to specify their name and the search text to have the results return as expected and for other fields, when I specify their name and search text, no results are returned. q=type:book //(this will work) q=type:book AND title:"The Title" //(no results returned) In this example, type is a required field and title is not. For the example where I search by title, I can see the document in the results of the first query having the given title so I know that a document exists that matches this search. Is making a field 'required' the only way to be able to search by field name? [edit] I'm using the default installation and the 'example' folder inside of solr, editing the xml files and using the interface available through start.jar to be able to run, index and query.

String dirty = "$!$!%!%$something interesting&!!$!%$something interesting2"; And the output something like: String clean = "something interesting:something interesting2"; Note: The code needs to work without knowing the random part, changing everytime the program runs. I researched and only found code that does it, but only knowing the random segment.
