  Hello, I'm using Liferay 5.2 portal. I have 2 Web Proxy portlet in my portal. Web Proxy portlet 1 contains navigation items & Web Proxy portlet 2 contains content. When user click an item in portlet 1 then the content in portlet 2 will change, it also mean that the url for portlet 2 changes. How can I do that? • Adding a generic image field onto a ModelForm in django

  I have two models, Room and Image. Image is a generic model that can tack onto any other model. I want to give users a form to upload an image when they post information about a room. I've written code that works, but I'm afraid I've done it the hard way, and specifically in a way that violates DRY. Was hoping someone who's a little more familiar with django forms could point out where I've gone wrong. Update: I've tried to clarify why I chose this design in comments to the current answers. To summarize: I didn't simply put an ImageField on the Room model because I wanted more than one image associated with the Room model. I chose a generic Image model because I wanted to add images to several different models. The alternatives I considered were were multiple foreign keys on a single Image class, which seemed messy, or multiple Image classes, which I thought would clutter my schema. I didn't make this clear in my first post, so sorry about that. This is the way I do it usually: unwanted_instance = Mymodel.objects.get(pk=bad_luck_number) uninteresting_stuff_happens() my_results = MyModel.objects.exclude(id=unwanted_instance.id) or, if I have more of them: my_results = MyModel.objects.exclude(id_in=[uw_in1.id, uw_in2.id, uw_in3.id]) This 'feels' a bit clunky, so I tried if I was lucky: my_ideally_obtained_results = MyModel.objects.exclude(unwanted_instance) Which doesn't work. But I read here on SO that a subquery can be used as parameter for exclude. Am I out of luck? Am I missing some functionality (checked the docs, but didn't find any useful pointer)

• .NET - getting form field key/value pairs?

  Hi there, I've got a form with textboxes and I want to run some server side validation code on the values after the form is submitted. I was planning to grab all the textbox controls on the page and adding them to a list, then running a for each loop that says for each control in the list query the database where fieldValidation.Name = Control.Name. This would return to me an object and an associated function where i coudl then input the Control.Value and actually perform the validation. My friend told me building the list is not necessary because all languages have a way to get key/value pairs from forms (he doesn't know .NET so coudln't help me). I may be searching the wrong term here but I have not been able to find a result, or maybe I misunderstood my friend. Is there some kind of dictionary or key/value pair automatically generated upon form submissions that contains the value that was submitted and...I guess also the control? Or am I just misunderstanding him. If he was just saying populate a key/value pair based on the form submissions, how does that help me in this situation over a list that contains the control?   I'm stumped by this SQL problem that I suspect will be easy pickings for someone out there. I have a table that contains rows representing several daily lists of ranked items. The relevent fields are as follows: ID, ListID, ItemID, ItemName, ItemRank, Date. I have a query that returns the items that were on a list yesterday but not today (Items Off List) as follows: Select ItemID, ListID, ItemName, convert(varchar(10),MAX(date),101) as date, COUNT(ItemName) as days_on_list From Table Group By ItemID, ListID, ItemName Having Max(date) = DATEADD("d",-1,convert(varchar(10),getdate(),101)) and ListID = 1 Order By ListID, ItemName, COUNT(ItemName) Basically I'm looking for records where the max date is yesterday. It works fine and shows the number of days each item was previously on the list (although not necessarily consecutively, but that's fine for now). The problem is when I try to add ranking to see what yesterday's rank was. I tried the following: Select ItemID, ListID, ItemName, ranking, convert(varchar(10),MAX(date),101) as date, COUNT(ItemName) as days_on_list From Table Group By ItemID, ListID, ItemName, ranking Having Max(date) = DATEADD("d",-1,convert(varchar(10),getdate(),101)) and ListID = 1 Order By ListID, ItemName, ranking, COUNT(ItemName) This returns a great deal more records than the previous query so something isn't right with it. I want the same number of records, but with the ranking included. I can get the rank by doing a self-join with a subquery and getting records where the ItemID occurs yesterday but not today - but then I don't know how to get the Count any more. Then I was able to do the aggregate function and grouping correctly. I would NOT be surprised if this is more convoluted than necessary but I understand it and can modify it as needed and performance doesn't seem to be an issue. Thanks everyone for the assist.

  I have this code that has one button that let's me choose an entry from contacts, and passes that choesn contact to onActivityResult function. My question is how do I select data of that single contact when all that is passed is an Intent in data variable. That data variable, if converted to string shows something like "dat: content://contacts/people/4" so I see that selected contact is somehow passed, but what now? How to get that data? And also all I found by googling was examples with deprecated class People, so I don't know how too use new classes. Please help.
