  • What languages, preprocessors, and toolkits will Apple not allow you to develop iPhone OS 4.0 Apps w

    - by Tony Lambert
According to articles on web Apple will not approve Apps that have code that is not originally developed in Objective C, C or C++. Found on the Web: 3.3.1 Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited). Can we build a list of things developer use that will and won't be allowed under these possible new rules? We can use: C, C++, Objective C We can't use: Flash, Monotouch C#, Pascal, Fortran, Perl, Python, Lex, Yacc, Unity (games engine), Java What others?

  • Need a way for users to enter data while offline and re-submit it when back online

    - by crankharder
As part of a larger webapp, I want to build functionality that allows a user to enter data while offline -- and then send that data back to my site when they have a connection again The parts that, to me, are missing ar Saving a certain set of data in their browser Saving a form that allows them to enter data using form from step#2 to update data from step#1 getting data out of the local data store and sending it back to the server I would like to keep this entirely within the browser, so... Does HTML5 meet some (or all) of those goals as it's currently implemented in webkit/ff3? If not, what technologies should I start looking into in order to accomplish all of the above.

  • Bitmapdata heavy usage - memory disaster (spark/FB4)

    - by keyle
I've got a flex component which works pretty well but unfortunately turns into a disaster once used in a datagroup item renderer of about 40-50 items. Essentially it uses bitmapdata to take screenshot of a fully-rendered webpage in mx:HTML (this version of webkit rocks btw, miles better than flex 3). The code is pretty self-explanatory I think. http://noben.org/show/PageGrabber.mxml I've optimized it all I could, browsed, search for answers and already trimmed it down a lot, I'm desparate to reduce the memory usage (about 600mb after 100 draw) The Garbage collector has little effect. Thanks! Nic

  • Capture Flash Audio in 4.7 Edge?

    - by emcmanus
Is there a way to capture plugin (Flash) audio before it gets to the sound card? I'd like to record plugin audio, hopefully without actually playing the sound. Capturing audio at the device level is an absolute last resort, as the application would pick up all system audio rather than just the Webkit plugin. I'm aware of the recent switch back from QTMultimedia; is this possible with phonon? I spent the night looking for some way to access the phonon graph via QWebFrame (or any of the QtWebkit widgets) -- and didn't turn up much. I also started digging through QTWebkit, particularly NPAPI, without success. For reference, I'm using the edge version of 4.7 (6aa50af000f85cc4497749fcf0860c8ed244a60e) This seems to be a fairly challenging problem. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to hide jQuery Sub-Menus(ddsmoothmenu)?

    - by Tim
    I'm new to jQuery and i must admit that i've understood nothing yet, the syntax appears to me as an unknown language although i thought that i had my experiences with javascript. Nevertheless i managed it to implement this menu in my asp.net masterpage's header. Even got it to work that the content-page is loaded with ajax with help from here. But finally i'm failing with the menu to disappear when the new page was loaded asynchronously. I dont know how to hide this accursed jQuery Menu. Following the part of the js-file where the events are registered for hiding/disappearing. I dont know how to get the part that is responsible for it and even i dont know how to implement that part in my Anchor-onclick function where i dont have a reference to the jQuery Object. buildmenu:function($, setting){ var smoothmenu=ddsmoothmenu var $mainmenu=$("#"+setting.mainmenuid+">ul") //reference main menu UL $mainmenu.parent().get(0).className=setting.classname || "ddsmoothmenu" var $headers=$mainmenu.find("ul").parent() $headers.hover( function(e){ $(this).children('a:eq(0)').addClass('selected') }, function(e){ $(this).children('a:eq(0)').removeClass('selected') } ) $headers.each(function(i){ //loop through each LI header var $curobj=$(this).css({zIndex: 100-i}) //reference current LI header var $subul=$(this).find('ul:eq(0)').css({display:'block'}) $subul.data('timers', {}) this._dimensions={w:this.offsetWidth, h:this.offsetHeight, subulw:$subul.outerWidth(), subulh:$subul.outerHeight()} this.istopheader=$curobj.parents("ul").length==1? true : false //is top level header? $subul.css({top:this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? this._dimensions.h+"px" : 0}) $curobj.children("a:eq(0)").css(this.istopheader? {paddingRight: smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[2]} : {}).append( //add arrow images '<img src="'+ (this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[1] : smoothmenu.arrowimages.right[1]) +'" class="' + (this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[0] : smoothmenu.arrowimages.right[0]) + '" style="border:0;" />' ) if (smoothmenu.shadow.enable){ this._shadowoffset={x:(this.istopheader?$subul.offset().left+smoothmenu.shadow.offsetx : this._dimensions.w), y:(this.istopheader? $subul.offset().top+smoothmenu.shadow.offsety : $curobj.position().top)} //store this shadow's offsets if (this.istopheader) $parentshadow=$(document.body) else{ var $parentLi=$curobj.parents("li:eq(0)") $parentshadow=$parentLi.get(0).$shadow } this.$shadow=$('<div class="ddshadow'+(this.istopheader? ' toplevelshadow' : '')+'"></div>').prependTo($parentshadow).css({left:this._shadowoffset.x+'px', top:this._shadowoffset.y+'px'}) //insert shadow DIV and set it to parent node for the next shadow div } $curobj.hover( function(e){ var $targetul=$subul //reference UL to reveal var header=$curobj.get(0) //reference header LI as DOM object clearTimeout($targetul.data('timers').hidetimer) $targetul.data('timers').showtimer=setTimeout(function(){ header._offsets={left:$curobj.offset().left, top:$curobj.offset().top} var menuleft=header.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? 0 : header._dimensions.w menuleft=(header._offsets.left+menuleft+header._dimensions.subulw>$(window).width())? (header.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? -header._dimensions.subulw+header._dimensions.w : -header._dimensions.w) : menuleft //calculate this sub menu's offsets from its parent if ($targetul.queue().length<=1){ //if 1 or less queued animations $targetul.css({left:menuleft+"px", width:header._dimensions.subulw+'px'}).animate({height:'show',opacity:'show'}, ddsmoothmenu.transition.overtime) if (smoothmenu.shadow.enable){ var shadowleft=header.istopheader? $targetul.offset().left+ddsmoothmenu.shadow.offsetx : menuleft var shadowtop=header.istopheader?$targetul.offset().top+smoothmenu.shadow.offsety : header._shadowoffset.y if (!header.istopheader && ddsmoothmenu.detectwebkit){ //in WebKit browsers, restore shadow's opacity to full header.$shadow.css({opacity:1}) } header.$shadow.css({overflow:'', width:header._dimensions.subulw+'px', left:shadowleft+'px', top:shadowtop+'px'}).animate({height:header._dimensions.subulh+'px'}, ddsmoothmenu.transition.overtime) } } }, ddsmoothmenu.showhidedelay.showdelay) }, function(e){ var $targetul=$subul var header=$curobj.get(0) clearTimeout($targetul.data('timers').showtimer) $targetul.data('timers').hidetimer=setTimeout(function(){ $targetul.animate({height:'hide', opacity:'hide'}, ddsmoothmenu.transition.outtime) if (smoothmenu.shadow.enable){ if (ddsmoothmenu.detectwebkit){ //in WebKit browsers, set first child shadow's opacity to 0, as "overflow:hidden" doesn't work in them header.$shadow.children('div:eq(0)').css({opacity:0}) } header.$shadow.css({overflow:'hidden'}).animate({height:0}, ddsmoothmenu.transition.outtime) } }, ddsmoothmenu.showhidedelay.hidedelay) } ) //end hover }) //end $headers.each() $mainmenu.find("ul").css({display:'none', visibility:'visible'}) } one link of my menu what i want to hide when the content is redirected to another page(i need "closeMenu-function"): <li><a href="DeliveryControl.aspx" onclick="AjaxContent.getContent(this.href);closeMenu();return false;">Delivery Control</a></li> In short: I want to fade out the submenus the same way they do automatically onblur, so that only the headermenu stays visible but i dont know how. Thanks, Tim EDIT: thanks to Starx' private-lesson in jQuery for beginners i solved it: I forgot the # in $("#smoothmenu1"). After that it was not difficult to find and call the hover-function from the menu's headers to let them fade out smoothly: $("#smoothmenu1").find("ul").hover(); Regards, Tim

  • Prevent CSS Validation for just 1 line

    - by Jaxidian
I have a problem practically identical to this question, but I'm looking for a different solution. Instead of turning it off globally, I'd like to just disable it for a single line. I know I have seen many examples where various techniques are used to suppress different warnings, and I am looking for one that I can put in my CSS to suppress this one. Examples of ways to suppress warnings and such #pragma warning disable 659 or [SuppressMessage("Microsoft.Usage", "CA2214:DoNotCallOverridableMethodsInConstructors", Justification = "I have a good reason.")]. The CSS I want it to be quiet about has some CSS3 stuff in it which is why it's understandably complaining: .round { border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; } So any idea how to make my Error 1 Validation (CSS 2.1): 'border-radius' is not a known CSS property name error go away? I'd rather not lose all of my CSS validations but I do want it to ignore this one "problem".

  • Prototype Library use of !! operator

    - by Rajat
Here is a snippet from Prototype Javascript Library : Browser: (function(){ var ua = navigator.userAgent; var isOpera = Object.prototype.toString.call(window.opera) == '[object Opera]'; return { IE: !!window.attachEvent && !isOpera, Opera: isOpera, WebKit: ua.indexOf('AppleWebKit/') > -1, Gecko: ua.indexOf('Gecko') > -1 && ua.indexOf('KHTML') === -1, MobileSafari: /Apple.*Mobile/.test(ua) } })(), This is all good and i understand the objective of creating a browser object. One thing that caught my eye and I haven't been able to figure out is the use of double not operator !! in the IE property. If you read through the code you will find it at many other places. I dont understand whats the difference between !!window.attachEvent and using just window.attachEvent. Is it just a convention or is there more to it that's not obvious?

  • Determining which JavaScript/CSS browser features are required

    - by Alan Neal
My website uses a variety of technologies, such as JQuery, new CSS definitions (e.g., moz-selection, -webkit-user-select), etc. The site works perfectly with Google Chrome and Safari, but has some quirkiness in Firefox, IE, and some of the other browsers. I want to write a script to check for necessary browser features but, with several thousand lines of code and CSS definitions, I'm not certain which features I should be looking for. Is there some sort of online analysis (similar to how JSLint operates) that would tell me which features my script and CSS files need? Are there tools (like FireBug) that provide this info?

  • Light following me around the room. Something is wrong with my shader!

    - by Robinson
I'm trying to do a spot (Blinn) light, with falloff and attenuation. It seems to be working OK except I have a bit of a space problem. That is, whenever I move the camera the light moves to maintain the same relative position, rather than changing with the camera. This results in the light moving around, i.e. not always falling on the same surfaces. It's as if there's a flashlight attached to the camera. I'm transforming the lights beforehand into view space, so Light_Position and Light_Direction are already in eye space (I hope!). I made a little movie of what it looks like here: My camera rotating around a point inside a box. The light is fixed in the centre up and its "look at" point in a fixed position in front of it. As you can see, as the camera rotates around the origin (always looking at the centre), so don't think the box is rotating (!). The lighting follows it around. To start, some code. This is how I'm transforming the light into view space (it gets passed into the shader already in view space): // Compute eye-space light position. Math::Vector3d eyeSpacePosition = MyCamera->ViewMatrix() * MyLightPosition; MyShaderVariables->Set(MyLightPositionIndex, eyeSpacePosition); // Compute eye-space light direction vector. Math::Vector3d eyeSpaceDirection = Math::Unit(MyLightLookAt - MyLightPosition); MyCamera->ViewMatrixInverseTranspose().TransformNormal(eyeSpaceDirection); MyShaderVariables->Set(MyLightDirectionIndex, eyeSpaceDirection); Can anyone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong here? I think the light should remain looking at a fixed point on the box, regardless of the camera orientation. • Fake "user initiated" <audio> tag on iPad

    - by Alex Ford
I know that Apple's docs say that an mp3 within an <audio tag on iPhone OS can't be played without user intervention (they cite bandwidth concerns, totally reasonable). However, has anyone succeeded in faking a user action to play the audio? Perhaps faking events to off screen native audio controls with JavaScript? I'm using jPlayer right now which works great on desktop Safari, but is silent on my iPad. I'm prototyping a touch interface using WebKit on the iPad, and audio is an integral part of the experience, so yes, I do have a good reason to want to override this convention. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Firefox redirect response on xhr request

    - by Bogdan Gusiev
Suppose we have the xhr 'POST' request that returns 'redirect' status code. In that case browser is sending additional xhr 'GET' by the given URL. I am not sure who is doing that call chain: browser itself or js library(using MooTools). The problem is that the second 'GET' request is not recognized as xhr by the server: It doesn't have "X-Requested-With" header contains "XMLHttpRequest" The problem appears only on Firefox, but not on Webkit. So, believe it is not related to js library bug. Does anyone have ideas how to fix it?

  • datatables.net plugin hides table behind left menu

    - by naveen
I had a page that works perfectly in IE. Then I added the wonderful jQuery plugin datatables.net to it using this code in DOMReady with this code $('#articlestable-container table').dataTable({ "bPaginate": true, "bLengthChange": false, "bFilter": true, "bSort": false, "bInfo": false, "bAutoWidth": false }); Everything is fine in Webkit and Firefox browsers. See the image. But in IE, the table hides the menu that ideally should come over the table like this. As you can see, the sub-menu gets rendered behind the table. I don't think z-index is the culprit here. The sub-menu has z-index: 9999; anyway. What could be wrong? Any pointers to solve this will be very helpful.

  • Gears or HTML5 Location API on Android 1.5

    - by Dmitry
Hi there, I am trying to use gwt-mobile-webkit, particularly its location api. It works well with iPhone (both device and simulator) and Firefox and on G1 with 1.6 Android, however, it does not work on G2 with Android 1.5 on it. In result I am getting onFailure callback with Permission Denied error. So it seems, that there is some geolocation API (gears or HTML5) in the browser available, but it just does not want to ask user for granting permissions. Do you know if there is any workaround or just enable it somewhere in settings?

  • Projected Results

    - by Sylvie MacKenzie, PMP
Excerpt from PROFIT - ORACLE - by Monica Mehta Yasser Mahmud has seen a revolution in project management over the past decade. During that time, the former Primavera product strategist (who joined Oracle when his company was acquired in 2008) has not only observed a transformation in the way IT systems support corporate projects but the role project portfolio management (PPM) plays in the enterprise. “15 years ago project management was the domain of project management office (PMO),” Mahmud recalls of earlier days. “But over the course of the past decade, we've seen it transform into a mission critical enterprise discipline, that has made Primavera indispensable in the board room. Now, as a senior manager, a board member, or a C-level executive you have direct and complete visibility into what’s kind of going on in the organization—at a level of detail that you're going to consume that information.” Now serving as Oracle’s vice president of product strategy and industry marketing, Mahmud shares his thoughts on how Oracle’s Primavera solutions have evolved and how best-in-class project portfolio management systems can help businesses stay competitive. Profit: What do you feel are the market dynamics that are changing project management today? Mahmud: First, the data explosion. We're generating data at twice the rate at which we can actually store it. The same concept applies for project-intensive organizations. A lot of data is gathered, but what are we really doing with it? Are we turning data into insight? Are we using that insight and turning it into foresight with analytics tools? This is a key driver that will separate the very good companies—the very competitive companies—from those that are not as competitive. Another trend is centered on the explosion of mobile computing. By the year 2013, an estimated 35 percent of the world’s workforce is going to be mobile. That’s one billion people. So the question is not if you're going to go mobile, it’s how fast you are going to go mobile. What kind of impact does that have on how the workforce participates in projects? What worked ten to fifteen years ago is not going to work today. It requires a real rethink around the interfaces and how data is actually presented. Profit: What is the role of project management in this new landscape? Mahmud: We recently conducted a PPM study with the Economist Intelligence Unit centered to determine how important project management is considered within organizations. Our target was primarily CFOs, CIOs, and senior managers and we discovered that while 95 percent of participants believed it critical to their business, only six percent were confident that projects were delivered on time and on budget. That’s a huge gap. Most organizations are looking for efficiency, especially in these volatile financial times. But senior management can’t keep track of every project in a large organization. As a result, executives are attempting to inventory the work being conducted under their watch. What is often needed is a very high-level assessment conducted at the board level to say, “Here are the 50 initiatives that we have underway. How do they line up with our strategic drivers?” This line of questioning can provide early warning that work and strategy are out of alignment; finding the gap between what the business needs to do and the actual performance scorecard. That’s low-hanging fruit for any executive looking to increase efficiency and save money. But it can only be obtained through proper assessment of existing projects—and you need a project system of record to get that done. Over the next decade or so, project management is going to transform into holistic work management. Business leaders will want make sure key projects align with corporate strategy, but also the ability to drill down into daily activity and smaller projects to make sure they line up as well. Keeping employees from working on tasks—even for a few hours—that don’t line up with corporate goals will, in many ways, become a competitive differentiator. Profit: How do all of these market challenges and shifting trends impact Oracle’s Primavera solutions and meeting customers’ needs? Mahmud: For Primavera, it’s a transformation from being a project management application to a PPM system in the enterprise. Also making that system a mission-critical application by connecting to other key applications within the ecosystem, such as the enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain, and CRM systems. Analytics have also become a huge component. Business analytics have made Oracle’s Primavera applications pertinent in the boardroom. Now, as a senior manager, a board member, a CXO, CIO, or CEO, you have direct visibility into what’s going on in the organization at a level that you're able to consume that information. In addition, all of this information pairs up really well with your financials and other data. Certainly, when you're an Oracle shop, you have that visibility that you didn’t have before from a project execution perspective. Profit: What new strategies and tools are being implemented to create a more efficient workplace for users? Mahmud: We believe very strongly that just because you call something an enterprise project portfolio management system doesn’t make it so—you have to get people to want to participate in the system. This can’t be mandated down from the top. It simply doesn’t work that way. A truly adoptable solution is one that makes it super easy for all types users to participate, by providing them interfaces where they live. Keeping that in mind, a major area of development has been alternative user interfaces. This is increasingly resulting in the creation of lighter weight, targeted interfaces such as iOS applications, and smartphones interfaces such as for iPhone and Android platform. Profit: How does this translate into the development of Oracle’s Primavera solutions? Mahmud: Let me give you a few examples. We recently announced the launch of our Primavera P6 Team Member application, which is a native iOS application for the iPhone. This interface makes it easier for team members to do their jobs quickly and effectively. Similarly, we introduced the Primavera analytics application, which can be consumed via mobile devices, and when married with Oracle Spatial capabilities, users can get a geographical view of what’s going on and which projects are occurring in various locations around the world. Lastly, we introduced advanced email integration that allows project team members to status work via E-mail. This functionality leverages the fact that users are in E-mail system throughout the day and allows them to status their work without the need to launch the Primavera application. It comes back to a mantra: provide as many alternative user interfaces as possible, so you can give people the ability to work, to participate, to raise issues, to create projects, in the places where they live. Do it in such a way that it’s non-intrusive, do it in such a way that it’s easy and intuitive and they can get it done in a short amount of time. If you do that, workers can get back to doing what they're actually getting paid for.

  • Add class to .hover functionality on a specific class name - jQuery

    - by marcamillion
So, throughout my entire document, I would like for every single time the user hovers over an element with a specific class name, I would like a class to be added. My CSS looks like this: .hotspot:hover, .hotspothover { border: 4px solid #fff; box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; -moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; z-index: 1; } Class name: "hotspot". I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work: $("#hotspot.hover #hotspothover").addClass("bubble bottom"); Thanks.

  • CSS3 box-shadow + inset + RGBA

    - by mkotechno
I'm doing some tests with new features of CSS3, but this combination only works in lastest versions of Chrome and Firefox, but not in Safari or Opera: box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); -moz-box-shadow: inset 0px -10px 20px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); I really don't know if they fails in the box-shadow itself, in the inset parameter, or in RGBA color. It's a syntax error or simply Safari and Opera lacks on this?

  • How to determine position (x,y) relative to the page of every character inside spans through javascript?

    - by Fernando
This is as simple as I can get. I will have several spans randomly positioned on the screen through something like: $(".hidden:first").css('-webkit-transform','rotate('+((0.5-Math.random())*40)+'deg)'); $(".hidden:first").animate({ left: '+=' + (((screen.width-800-224)/2) + Math.random()*800), top: '+=' + (50+Math.random()*600) } [...] and later on I would like to iterate through every char of every of those elements (that are randomly position and have random rotation), and I would need to discover the (x,y) position of every character on the screen so I can colorize it, forming certain draws according to certain functions. Is this easily achievable? I am really inexperienced at javascript. Thanks. Fernando.

I`m trying to create an animation using CSS3 transition. The animation is a gradient background that should change his color (rgba). I used the webkit tag for the gradient and it`s working in Chrome 5.0.375.55. Looking into w3c site I see that "background-image - only gradients" is supported for the transition. (http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-transitions/) But I can only animate the background-color property with this version of chrome. With gradient the transition does not work. Does anyone managed to create an animation with background gradients?

  • Which are the most important media queries to use in creating mobile responsive design?

    - by Matt
    There are a lot different media queries for mobile screen sizes. It can be overwhelming to accomodate all of them when designing a responsive mobile site. Which are the most important ones to use when designing for mobile? I found this article that does a pretty good job of outlining the available media queries: http://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/media-queries-for-standard-devices/. /* Smartphones (portrait and landscape) ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-device-width : 320px) and (max-device-width : 480px) { /* Styles */ } /* Smartphones (landscape) ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-width : 321px) { /* Styles */ } /* Smartphones (portrait) ----------- */ @media only screen and (max-width : 320px) { /* Styles */ } /* iPads (portrait and landscape) ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-device-width : 768px) and (max-device-width : 1024px) { /* Styles */ } /* iPads (landscape) ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-device-width : 768px) and (max-device-width : 1024px) and (orientation : landscape) { /* Styles */ } /* iPads (portrait) ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-device-width : 768px) and (max-device-width : 1024px) and (orientation : portrait) { /* Styles */ } /* Desktops and laptops ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-width : 1224px) { /* Styles */ } /* Large screens ----------- */ @media only screen and (min-width : 1824px) { /* Styles */ } /* iPhone 4 ----------- */ @media only screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio : 1.5), only screen and (min-device-pixel-ratio : 1.5) { /* Styles */ }

  • Overlapping two divs and 'clearing' their parent div

    - by brady8
My CSS-fu is letting me down here: What I'd like to do is position two child divs to be overlapping: Using position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; is the only way I know how, with the parent set to position: relative. The problem with this is that the child divs are taken out of the layout as per the CSS spec, shrinking the parent div to height: 0px, so that I can't clear that div and put any content below. My amazing ASCII art below details what I'm going for... any ideas? As an aside, I need these divs to be overlapping exactly for jQuery fades, and maybe trying out some of the new Webkit transforms, a la Apple's cardflip demo: http://developer.apple.com/safari/library/samplecode/CardFlip/Introduction/Intro.html If there's another way to get them overlapped exactly in CSS, I'm all ears. Thanks! |-------------------------------------------------| | Parent div | | |-------------------------------------------| | | | | | | | DIVS 1 & 2 (overlapped) | | | | | | | |-------------------------------------------| | |-------------------------------------------------| ...more content below, after clearing the parent...

  • Open a chrome tab from delayed javascript window.open

    - by jettero
When I window.open("http://blarg") in chrome, I get a new tab. If I delay the open, say using a jquery $(hrm).animate({},5e3,function(){window.open(url)); it opens the url in a new window with no status bar, etc — if I give it permission to pop-up that is. I'm looking for a way to get the instant behavior, that is, I wish to open a URL after an animation, but still in a new tab. I imagine I could get by with learning a way to instruct chrome to never ever open pop-ups and to always open them in tabs (I imagine there's a webkit setting, why it's not a built in is a mystery); but I'd rather try to find a way to do it from the javascript if possible. I somewhat doubt there's any way to do this though. I'm not aware of any javascript that's tab-aware.

  • Overriding disabled input and textarea with CSS

    - by igluratds
Hi, Im trying to override the grey text of a disabled input and textarea. At the moment Im only really concerned with it working in Webkit and Mozilla. At the moment Im currently using every trick in the book that I know of: input[@disabled=true], input[@disabled], button[disabled]:active, button[disabled], input[type="reset"][disabled]:active, input[type="reset"][disabled], input[type="button"][disabled]:active, input[type="button"][disabled], select[disabled] > input[type="button"], select[disabled] > input[type="button"]:active, input[type="submit"][disabled]:active, input[type="submit"][disabled],input[disabled="disabled"], input[disabled] { color: black !important; } Sure it does change the colour if I change it to something else, however when I choose black it is still greyed out a bit. Any ideas? I am using Ext JS if I can use that to manipulate it. Thanks.

  • Uncaught TypeError: Converting circular structure to JSON

    - by ychia
We're using the fb:registration plugin to sign up users on our site. Today I noticed the registration redirect is no longer working in Google Chrome and Safari (latest public release). I know for sure it was working with the same code as recently as last week. It seems to be getting stuck on submission with this error, which is coming from: static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v1/ys/r/ioE9qOq_5Oa.js:101 Firefox and IE have no problem, so it seems to be Webkit specific. Any ideas?
