I have tried but to me it seems that only public members are inherited. At least I could not access Name unless it was declared as public.

    I'm hosting my own svn repository on ubuntu 8.04. Is there a way for svn to send emails to team members whenever a commit has happened? If coding is required, the only language I'm able to use on a linux server is PHP. So I could write a php script to be triggered by svn. Can anyone tell me how to hook up my php script to an svn commit? Or is there another way to do this?

Is there anyway to automatically add XML comments to all of the public members in a class or a file. I see ghost doc which gives you good autogenerated XML comments but it still looks like it only does one member at a time.

  • Defining the hash of an object as the sum of hashes of its members

    I have a class that represents undirected edges in a graph. Every edge has two members vertex1 and vertex2 representing the vertices it connects. The problem is, that an edge can be specified two directions. My idea was now to define the hash of an edge as the sum of the hashes of its vertices. This way, the direction plays no role anymore, the hash would be the same. Are there any pitfalls with that?

  • Need to link WP Blog with Rails App on Heroku

    I have a client who wants to migrate his Rails app to Heroku. However the client also has a blog associated with his domain that runs on WordPress. Currently, the WordPress blog is running happily alongside the Rails app, but once we migrate to Heroku, that clearly won't be possible. The url for the app is like http://mydomain.com, and the url for the blog is like http://mydomain/blog. I realize that the best long-term solution is to redo the blog in a Rails format like Toto or Jekyll. But in the short term, what is the best way to continue hosting the WP blog where it is (or somewhere) but use Heroku to run the app? The client doesn't want the blog to be on a subdomain, but to remain at mydomain/blog for SEO reasons and also since there is traffic to the blog. I have two ideas: Use rack_rewrite or refraction (or just a regular old 301 and Apache mod_rewrite) on the old (non-Heroku) server to redirect the main url from the old site to Heroku. In this case, I can just leave the Wordpress blog running happily where it is. I think?? Is there a reason to choose one of those options (rack_rewrite, refraction, or mod_rewrite) over the others if I do it this way? Switch the DNS info to point to the Heroku site, and then use a 301 redirect from the blog to the old site. But then I'll have to get the old (non-Heroku) site on a subdomain and use some kind of rewrite rules anyway so it looks like it isn't a subdomain. Are either of these approaches preferable, or is there another way to do it that's easier that I'm missing?

  • .htaccess redirect to error page if port is not 80

    I'm running a portable server through usb stick. The thing is I also have WAMP installed in my local machine and Apache somehow gets started on windows startup, because of some random reason which I don't recall now and it can't be changed. I want to prepare my portable server in situations like this, so closing httpd.exe from process and starting my portable server is not an option. Anyway, because of already active httpd.exe my portable server's WordPress site can only be accessed through localhost:81 - this is a problem as WP site is very dependent on the URL and I don't want to include the url with port on WP database. Here is what I want to do through .htaccess: On any path except for error.php file check if not port 80 If not port 80 redirect to /error.php?code=port It it possible for it to have priority over WP redirection or URL handling? In the error.php I provided info on how to manually close httpd.exe and such so my family and friends can access the portable site. It's sort of like a gallery and calender application for events and other such stuff... Please help? I'm I can't figure it out at all. I know others may not have apache already running, but I want to prepare for such a situation.   • Nginx + PHP-FPM Timeouts, almost zero load consumption?

    I've got a server running on a Linode with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Nginx 0.7.65, MySQL 5.1.41 and PHP 5.3.2 with PHP-FPM. There is a WordPress blog on it, updated to WordPress 3.2.1 recently. I have made no changes to the server (except updating WordPress) and while it was running fine, a couple of days ago I started having downtimes. I tried to solve the problem, and checking the error_log I saw many timeouts and messages that seemed to be related to timeouts. The server is currently logging this kind of errors: 2011/07/14 10:37:35 [warn] 2539#0: *104 an upstream response is buffered to a temporary file /var/lib/nginx/fastcgi/2/00/0000000002 while reading upstream, client: 217.12.16.51, server: www.mydomain.com, request: "GET /page/2/ HTTP/1.0", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "www.mydomain.com", referrer: "http://www.mydomain.com/" 2011/07/14 10:40:24 [error] 2539#0: *231 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 46.24.245.181, server: www.mydomain.com, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "www.mydomain.com", referrer: "http://www.google.es/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=mydomain" and even saw this previous serverfault discussion with a possible solution: to edit /etc/php/etc/php-fpm.conf and change request_terminate_timeout=30s instead of ;request_terminate_timeout= 0 The server worked for some hours, and then broke again. I edited the file again to leave it as it was, and restarted again php-fpm (service php-fpm restart) but no luck: the server worked for a few minutes and back to the problem over and over. The strange thing is, although the services are running, htop shows there is no CPU load (see image) and I really don't know how to solve the problem.   • should i link to a blog site or install my own blog engine?

    we're setting up a company blog. Our technology stack is .NET. Should we just use blogger/wordpress for the blog and redirect to it from our site? or should i install a blog engine directly on our site (e.g. blogEngine.NET)? some considerations i'd like feedback on are: 1.SEO - if you host your blog on wordpress/blogger instead of installing it on your site - will you get better page rankings? (if the content was the exact same) 2.scalability - i've read that dotNetBlogEngine doesnt scale well on web farms etc. our website is setup to be stateless. 3.security - presumably a hosted blog site has the advantage of having regular security updates. how easy is it to keep an installed blog engine patched? 4.examples of installed blog engines - dotNetBlogEngine seems to be the best but has a couple of limitations. can anyone suggest another one (n/a if you're advice is to host the blog on blogger/wordpress) 5.any other comments/issues/concerns we should be aware of? thanks for your feedback!

    Possible Duplicate: My server's been hacked EMERGENCY We've usually host our clients site, but we aren't hosting this one. The website itself (weddle-funeral.com) works just fine. if you load google and search for weddle funeral stayton oregon - and click that link, the site links to a scammy pill site. I went through the site and there were some php files in the wordpress plugins that got quarantined by my antivirus. I removed ALL non essential files, and uploaded fresh versions of all the plugins, but it's STILL redirecting from google. I tried logging in to the cpanel (on a virtual private server), and the cpanel flashed a red warning screen The site's security certificate is not trusted! You attempted to reach XXXXX.com, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Google Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications. You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site. (Keep in mind, that's for the HOSTING accounts CPanel) Is there something in the SERVER probably that's causing the redirect?   • Should accessible members of an internal class be internal too?

    I'm designing a set of APIs for some applications I'm working on. I want to keep the code style consistent in all the classes I write but I've found that there are a few inconsistencies that I'm introducing and I don't know what the best way to resolve them is. My example here is specific to C# but this would apply to any language with similar mechanisms. There are a few classes that I need for implementation purposes that I don't necessarily want to expose in the API so I make them internal whereever needed. Generally what I would do is design the class as I normally would (e.g., make members public/protected/private where necessary) and change the visibility level of the class itself to internal. So I might have a few classes that look like this: internal interface IMyItem { ItemSet AddTo(ItemSet set); } internal class _SmallItem : IMyItem { private readonly /* parameters */; public _SmallItem(/* small item parameters */) { /* ... */ } public ItemSet AddTo(ItemSet set) { /* ... */ } } internal abstract class _CompositeItem: IMyItem { private readonly /* parameters */; public _CompositeItem(/* composite item parameters */) { /* ... */ } public abstract object UsefulInformation { get; } protected void HelperMethod(/* parameters */) { /* ... */ } } internal class _BigItem : _CompositeItem { private readonly /* parameters */; public _BigItem(/* big item parameters */) { /* ... */ } public override object UsefulInformation { get { /* ... */ } } public ItemSet AddTo(ItemSet set) { /* ... */ } } In another generated class (part of a parser/scanner), there is a structure that contains fields for all possible values it can represent. I just don't like the idea that the way I write my classes has to change drastically (i.e., change all uses of public to internal) just because the class is internal. Any thoughts on what I should do here? It makes sense to me that I might want to make some members of a class declared public, internal. But it's less clear to me when the class is declared internal.

  • <audio> elements not working on WordPress

    Hello all, I have a small WordPress site. I do a lot of audio work and I'm trying to post HTML5 audio clips in blog entries on WordPress. For some reason it isn't working. It might have something to do with the style I'm using on my WordPress site but I haven't been able to nail it down. I know my audio tags are valid, as they work elsewhere. Here's an example audio tag: <audio src="http://files.dannystewart.com/dom2008.mp3"></audio> And here's a page demonstrating it not working: http://www.dannystewart.com/html5-audio-test/ I'm quite sure this is something very simple that I've just missed, but any pointers would be appreciated.   • Problem installing wordpress child themes.

    Hi, I've tried to install either the Fusion or Thematic child themes for my blog. My Wordpress directory is located at myblog/wordpress while my domain is just myblog (example). Everything works fine with both basic themes or the parent Fusion or Thematic themes. When I install a child theme for either framework, I can view the preview and select 'activate.' However, after that my entire site crashes. I can't even view the wordpress admin panel. I've had to restore my database from my hosting provider just to get my blog working. All that I'm able to see is my favicon icon and a blank page. I've tried to deactivate all plugins and this doesn't help either. I really want to use the Hybrid News child template. Any thoughts on what might be happening? thanks so much!

    If I look at the Freebase page for the band '311', I see Chad Sexton listed. http://www.freebase.com/view/en/311 I am trying to query for the members of a band : { "name" : "311", "/music/artist/album" : [{"name":null, "id":null, "optional": true}], "type|=" : ["/music/artist","/music/musical_group"], "/award/award_winner/awards_won" : ["award":null, "optional" => true], "/award/award_nominated_work/award_nominations" : ["award":null, "optional" => true], "/music/artist/supporting_artists":[{}] } I thought supporting_artists would return the band member names, but the array is always empty. But if I query for all properties related to Chad Sexton, I don't see 311 mentioned. But he is listed as member on the Freebase web info page (which is correct). { "*": null, "name": "Chad Sexton", "type": "/music/artist" } How can I grab the band member names along with the band info?

    I'm using Jekyll to create a new blog. It uses Liquid underneath. Jekyll defines certain "variables": site, content, page, post and paginator. These "variables" have several "members". For instance, post.date will return the date of a post, while post.url will return its url. My question is: can I access a variable's member using another variable as the member name? See the following example: {% if my_condition %} {% assign name = 'date' %} {% else %} {% assign name = 'url' %} {% endif %} I have a variable called name which is either 'date' or 'url'. How can I make the liquid equivalent of post[name] in ruby? The only way I've found is using a for loop to iterate over all the pairs (key-value) of post. Beware! It is quite horrible: {% for property in post %} {% if property[0] == name %} {{ property[1] }} {% endif %} {% endfor %} Argh! I hope there is a better way. Thanks.
