  • Open in explorer view not working SOMETIMES !!

    Hello, As weird as it seems to anyone who used it before, most of the time explorer view does not work until some steps to be followed, but in my case it was working and sometimes randomly not working ! After spending hours of troubleshooting and collecting logs, Network traces, Fiddler traces, etc. I reached the solution from the Network trace. Although it seems strange, it was sending a PROPFIND request to the root directory "/" which was actually deleted. So, I came up to this important article that states that you must have a root site collection in your SharePoint web application in order to keep it in a supported state. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2590564 And actually that explained it and solved the strange behavior as well.   • Biztalk Schema generator in Visual Studio -- How to enable 'Well-Formed XML' ? [migrated]

    I have installed Visual Studio 2010 and Biztalk. I create a new Biztalk-project in Visual STudio 2010. I choose 'Add new item' and then 'New generated schema'. Here I can choose 'Document type'. I choose 'Well-Formed XML (Not loaded)' and choose an input file. Now I get the message 'XFW to XSD schema generation module is not installed. Execute 'C:\Program files (X86)\Microsoft Biztalk Server 2010\SDK\Utilities\Schema Generator\InstallWFX.vbs to install the WFX to XSD schema generation module. I try to execute that file and some text hastily appear on the console. I restart Visual Studio 2010, but it still doesn't work. Apparently the execution of the shell script didn't work. I try to restart the computer, but it still doesn't work. Could anyone tell me what to do?

  • FTP client says directory permissions are 0000

    I encountered a problem that appears to be related to permissions (same as this one). When I looked at the permissions of various directories in FireFTP, they all were 0000, which is obviously nonsense, since all the other pages are served without any problems. I only have ftp access, and I think it’s a Windows server (The header says "Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5"). I’ve tried a different ftp client, with the same result. Changing the permissions results in a "'SITE CHMOD 764 [directory]': command not understood" error. A search on Google and SO for "permissions windows 0000" and similar queries didn’t turn up anything. How can I view and change the actual permissions?

  • What IDE(s) or editor(s) do companies like Google, Apple, IBM, etc. use?

    Even though I have quite some experience in using various tools, I still can't make up my mind whether I prefer using IDE or a simple editor for code editing. Most IDEs I have experienced are written in Java (like Eclipse) which makes them slow and bulky. What's good about them is that it provides lots of tools. On the other hand editors are usually VERY fast. They can also be extended to become more similar to IDEs but usually I don't do that. However, there is Sublime Text 2 which has some basic code completion built-in. My question would be whether most Enterprise companies like Google, Apple, IBM and etc (except Microsoft because they have AMAZING IDE which, I assume, is used by MS developers) force their workers to use IDEs and whether using plain editor with external tools is considered being not professional? P.S. Not talking about cases like Android development where working without IDE barely possible.

    I have an issue with Visual C++ and Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2. The following code will occasionally hang: Object->Update(); if(Object->CanRestart()) { //Why does this not return?? m_pDBRoRBaseObject->Requery(); } Object is derived from CRecordset. It looks to me as though a call to ::SQLExecute(m_hstmt) in the Requery() method is hanging, but I can't (with my current skill set anyway) figure out a way around this. Has anyone had a similar problem, or an insight of any sort?

    I am setting up a spring mvc web application + hibernate jpa + maven from scratch using Eclipse Indigo. I am stuck in this error when doing a Maven build.     Hello, Based on what Word, Wordpad, and Open Office Writer are showing there is no cell border which is correct. But in the RichTextBox control the borders are displayed. I need to hide the borders of the table/rows/cells in the richtextbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • .NET Access automation with Access 2007 Runtime

    I'm having trouble deploying .NET application which uses Microsoft Access automation. I've installed the Access 2007 Runtime and Primary Interop Assemblies (PIAs) on the target machine: Access 2007 Runtime Office 2007 PIAs However, when I try to create the ApplicationClass: Application access = new ApplicationClass(); I get the following exception: Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80080005): Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {73A4C9C1-D68D-11D0-98BF-00A0C90DC8D9} failed due to the following error: 80080005. I've googled the error code and tried tweaking the security settings in dcomcnfg, to no avail. Any ideas? I don't want to install the full version of Access due to the cost, and the runtime should at least be able to create an instance of the application, surely?

  • Open excel 2007 excel files and save as 97-2003 formats in VBA

    I have a weird situation where I have a set of excel files, all having the extension .xls., in a directory where I can open all of them just fine in Excel 2007. The odd thing is that I cannot open them in Excel 2003, on the same machine, without opening the file first in 2007 and going and saving the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook". Before I save the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" from Excel 2007, when I open the excel files in 2003 I get the error that the file is not in a recognizable format. So my question is: if I already have the excel file opened in 2007 and I already have the file name of the open file stored in a variable, programatically how can I mimic the action of going up to the "office button" in the upper right and selecting, "save as" and then selecting "Excel 97-2003 Workbook"? I've tried something like the below but it does not save the file at all: ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs TempFilePath & TempFileName & ".xls", FileFormat:=56 Thanks for any help or guidance!

  • ClassFactory cannot supply requested class 0x80040111 Error: -2147221231

    Using Visual Studio 2008 I first encountered this when trying to open a standard save file dialog box in visual basic. So far I've worked around it after fruitless searching. Now I find that any action which would cause a save/open dialog (eg. ctrl-O) also fails. I've searched more and still don't know how to fix it. Stuff I do know: It's not a Visual Studio error, it apparently can occur in any number of other applications (which is why searching for it is annoying) It's either .NET or COM related, I tried reinstalling all of .NET with no luck, and I've never mucked around with COM ever, I don't really even know what it is. Something is missing, misplaced, or it could be DLL version issues. I really don't want to deal with uninstalling VS2008, or MS Office (as one result I found suggested) or any other big application.

    Hello. I have a problem with a C# ASP .NET project in Visual Studio 2008 This problem started when I reinstalled my computer with Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. To this I'm also using Office 2007.   • I have string with "\u00a0" and I need to replace it with "" str_replace fails

    I need to clean a string that comes (copy/pasted) from various office suite (excel, access, word) each with his own set of encoding. I'm using json_encode for debugging purposes in order to being able to see every single encoded character. I'm able to clean everything I found so far (\r \n) with str_replace, but with \u00a0 I have no luck. $string = '[email protected]\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0;[email protected]'; //this is the output from json_encode $clean = str_replace("\u00a0", "",$string); returns: [email protected]\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0;[email protected] that is exactly the same, it completly ignores \u00a0. Is there a way around this also I'm feeling I'm reinventing the wheel, is there any function/class that completely strips EVERY possibile char of EVERY possible encoding?     I am interested in learning MVC, and have experimented with a couple of the sample apps. As a project, I'd like to move part or all of my own office app to MVC. An important part of this app, and of ALL of my apps for customers, is the printing of invoices, purchase orders, inventory lists and so forth. In fact, one of their main criteria for judging what we do is the appearance of these documents and their incorporation into the app in a practical, intuitive way. It's impossible for me to get by without a report writer. The MSFT report viewer used to produce rdlc reports has been sufficient, and even comes up better than the competition in a couple of key areas. Does this control work with an ASP.NET MVC application?

    In the SharePoint install document I have it says, If you use a domain user account for the SQL Server service account, you must make sure that a valid service principal name (SPN) for that account and instance of SQL Server on their database server exists in their environment. This is the case regardless of whether you use NTLM or Kerberos authentication for Office SharePoint Server 2007. You must configure the SPN for that account in the domain using the Setspn.exe command-line tool. Setspn.exe is installed by default on computers running Windows Server 2008. Run the following command on a computer that is joined to the same domain as the user/service account. setspn -a <http/<farmclusterdnsname> <serviceaccountname> What should the parameters be in this case? I guess the serviceaccountname would be 'domain\username' not sure what the first parameter should be though. This is the technet link for SetSPN.

  • Device driver with generic communication media layer

    Greetings all, I'm trying to implement driver for an embedded device with generic communication media layer. Not sure what is the best way to do it so I'm seeking an advice from more experienced stackoverflow users:). Basically we've got devices around the country communicating with our head office. Usual form of communication is over TCP/IP, but could be also using usb, RF dongle, IR, etc. The plan is to have object corresponding with each of these devices, handling the proprietary protocol on one side and requests/responses from other internal systems on the other. The thing is how create something generic in between the media and the handling objects. I had a play around with the TCP dispatcher using boost.asio but trying to create something generic seems like a nightmare :). Anybody tried to do something like that? What is the best way how to do it? Cheers, Tom
