• How to get the data for intra-day candlestick charts for stocks on eg Nasdaq

  Hi, For a learning exercise, i'm wanting to create candlestick (stock) graphs for stocks using zedgraph. Now on google finance, i can get daily open-high-low-close data which is perfect for making these graphs, but i'm wanting to create intra-day graphs, eg open-high-low-close data for an hour (or 5 mins, or 1 min even). Is there any way to get that kind of data without having to subscribe to any expensive service? I've heard opentick mentioned in an old SO question, but their site is defunct now. I was thinking of polling google finance once a minute to get the latest stock price, then with an hour's worth of 60 prices, i could then roughly calculate the open-high-low-close, but this is a bit of an estimation and i'm open to other suggestions.   I have a web service which runs with a HttpHandler class. In this class, I inspect the request stream for form / query string parameters. In some circumstances, it seemed as though these parameters weren't getting through. After a bit of digging around, I came across some behaviour I don't quite understand. See below: // The request contains 'a=1&b=2&c=3' // TEST ONLY: Read the entire request string contents; using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(context.Request.InputStream)) { contents = sr.ReadToEnd(); } // Here 'contents' is usually correct - containing 'a=1&b=2&c=3'. Sometimes it is empty. string a = context.Request["a"]; // Here, a = null, regardless of whether the 'contents' variable above is correct Can anyone explain to me why this might be happening? I'm using a .NET WebClient and UploadDataAsync to perform the request on the client if that makes any difference. If you need any more information, please let me know.

  First, I know that Silverlight needs to be embedded in a website, usually an asp page. I understand I need a delivery boy. My question is this; What types of apps/projects are so filled with technological hurdles as to make them ridiculous to do in Silverlight versus ASP.net? I know that with perseverance and flexibility I can probably make EVERY app in Silverlight, in some version or another, but which ones would be blatantly simple in, say ASP.net(or even WPF) but quite complicated in Silverlight? Basically what I am asking is if there is any reason I shouldn't consider Silverlight my first stop for every problem, obvious exceptions not with standing(a service or console). For me specifically, at this point, I am only building in house apps.

I am getting the sessionid as 1. Could someone tell me what's going wrong here? I want to use this token information to pass it to the CreateProcessAsUser function from a windows service. • IPC::Open3 Fails Running Under Apache

  I have a module that uses IPC::Open3 (or IPC::Open2, both exhibit this problem) to call an external binary (bogofilter in this case) and feed it some input via the child-input filehandle, then reads the result from the child-output handle. The code works fine when run in most environments. However, the main use of this module is in a web service that runs under Apache 2.2.6. And under that environment, I get the error: Cannot fdopen STDOUT: Invalid argument This only happens when the code runs under Apache. Previously, the code constructed a horribly complex command, which included a here-document for the input, and ran it with back-ticks. THAT worked, but was very slow and prone to breaking in unique and perplexing ways. I would hate to have to revert to the old version, but I cannot crack this.

  I have seen several Questions comparing different ECommerce CMS's: Prestashop compared to Zen-Cart and osCommerce Magento or Prestashop, which is better? Best php/ruby/python e-commerce solution I was hoping to get some people to weigh in with which they prefer for a relatively small E-shop. I am now primarily looking at PrestaShop and Shopify. I really like that Shopify does the hosting, has quality service, and is simple to understand and theme. However PrestaShop is free and seems to be able to do just as much if not more than Shopify. I have decided that Magento is too clunky for the project, and have read that many other solutions (osCommerce, ZenCart, OpenCart) are outdated, buggy, or just inferior. Thank you!

  I read a lot on how to save my instance state or how to deal with my activity getting destroyed during screen rotation. There seem to be a lot of possibilities but I haven't figured out which one works best for retrieving results of an AsyncTask. I have some AsyncTasks that are simply started again and call the isFinishing() method of the activity and if the activity is finishing they wont update anything. The problem is that I have one Task that does a request to a web service that can fail or succeed and restarting the task would result in a financial loss for the user. How would you solve this? What are the advantages or disadvantages of the possible solutions?

• Visual Studio 2008 - App_webreferences and dynamic urls

  When you add a web service reference in VS 2008 Web site project, you get a new folder in App_webreferences. This contains a disco,wsdl and discomap file. Additionally, you get a key/value pair in the web.config which contains the endpoint URL. Within the disco,wsdl and discomap files, the URL is strewn about leaving many places to change the url as we move from dev/test/stage/production. Why is it that when I change the URL in the web.config and perform an update on the web reference, the old URL remains in all three of those files? Why does it not get updated? Has anyone figured out how to manage this? Any insight is appreciated.

  Hi, I have converted an Entity framework project to use POCO objects by removing the entity data model and the domain service and meta data classes. My silverlight project works as it is showing a datagrid of Employee objects. I have not added a DataForm and when I modify the "name" property of one of my Employee objects, I get the error: This EntitySet of type 'TestEmployeesApp.Web.Employee' does not support the 'Edit' operation. The error occurs on validatingProperty() on the class Entity on the client side. I checked the metadata on the server side, and all my properties have the attribute Editable(true). There are no usernames or passwords. We validate the certificates are good, and that they have been given access to our app. The question is how do I integrate spring in to this to get their roles using the X509 certificates?   I have a headless Ubuntu 12.04 server for files and printers. It shares files via Samba just fine. However, the HP PSC-750xi connected to the server via USB is not accessible from my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop. I can browse for it in the Printing control panel, but any attempt to authenticate my ID to the printer with my user credentials results in the error "This print share is not accessible". • Open Visual Web Developer Express file in Visual Studio Professional

  I started working on an Asp.net MVC website using Visual Web Developer Express 2008 a while ago. Just recently, I managed to get my hands on a copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional (through DreamSpark). I installed the Service Pack, and also the MVC2 files for Visual Studio. However, now I can't open my project anymore. When I try to open the solution in Visual Studio, it tells me that the project type is not supported. Does this mean that I have to resort to using VWD Express again? Note: I installed MVC2 through the Web Platform Installer, and it says that it installed successfully, but yet when I restart the WPI, the box next to MVC2 isn't checked; if I check it and click "Install", it finishes the install process instantly and tells me that it was successful.
