• CSS 100% Height, and then Scroll DIV not page

  Okay so I haven't been able to find a question with an answer yet, so I decided to make my own. I am trying to create a 100% fluid layout, which technically I have done. http://stickystudios.ca/sandbox/stickyplanner/layout/index2.php BUT, what I want it to now do, is make the page 100% in HEIGHT... But I don't want the page to scroll I want the inner DIV to scroll. So I believe in short I want it to detect the height of the viewport screen, go 100%, and then IF content is longer then the screen, scroll the specific DIV, NOT the page. I hope this makes sense. • Unable to Retrieve Simplified Chinese Characters From Form

  I have a page that displays content retrieved from XML with no problems: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root> <Fields> <NamePrompt>??</NamePrompt> </Fields> </Root> Page encoding is set to GB18030 and it displays perfectly. However, when I retrieve inputted text from HttpContext.Current.Request.Form that's been entered with double-byte characters, the retrieved string contains unreadable characters. Single-byte characters are fine, obviously. I've tried the following to no avail: byte[] valueBytes = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(HttpContext.Current.Request.Form["fullName"]); string value = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(valueBytes); I don't see this problem with other double-byte languages like Japanese or Korean. How can I successfully retrieve double-byte characters from a page that's GB18030 encoded?

• problem in loading images from web

  hi, I am new in android and had developed an app which get images from the website and display it. I got it working in emulator but not in real phones. In some device, it will crash or take very long loading period. Can anyone please help me or guide me in improving it as i'm not sure whether the way i loads the images is correct or not. • How do I embed an expect script that takes in arguments into a bash shell script?

  I am writing a bash script which amongst many other things uses expect to automatically run a binary and install it by answering installer prompts. I was able to get my expect script to work fine when the expect script is called in my bash script with the command "expect $expectscriptname $Parameter". However, I want to embed the expect script into the shell script instead of having to maintain two separate script files for the job. I searched around and found that the procedure to embed expect into bash script was to declare a variable like VAR below and then echo it.: VAR=$(expect -c " #content of expect script here ") echo "$VAR" 1) I don't understand how echoing $VAR actually runs the expect script. Could anyone explain? 2) I am not sure how to pass $Parameter into VAR or to the echo statement. This is my main concern. Any ideas? Thanks.

  There are so many lightboxes to choose from, I'm looking for a very lightweight one to use in an embedded javascript widget that would be used on a number of different web sites. This would work in a similar way to the GetSatisfaction/UserVoice feedback tab. Here are the requirements for the lightbox: Very small javascript download (animation not needed) Self contained, not dependent on any libraries such as jquery, etc. Works in major browsers Lightbox displays HTML content from a given URL Close button (like GetSatisfaction or UserVoice) Dims background Avoids javascript namespace conflicts (or can easily be made to avoid them) CSS styling of lightbox does not interfere with site styling Have you used an existing lightbox scripts for this same purpose with similar requirements? • how should I order my divs?

  Here's the basic layout of a page I'm working on: What would be the best/easiest way to order the divs? C may or may not be visible (it's a news alert that only displays when there is news). A = Header, B = Menu, E&F = standard content columns, D = latest blog post. I'm thinking ABCEFD might make the most sense, but I could also see ABCDEF. Either of those should be fairly easy to do right using floats... is there a better way? Maybe put CEF inside a "middle column" div?

• Working with DataBinding and Page_Load in ASP.NET MVP

  I'm using WebForms MVP to create some simple reporting applications. Most of these applications consist of a few search criteria inputs and a ComponentArt datagrid that I'm populating with data from the database. Most of the markup is in a UserControl, which is in a content page with a master page. My problem is that the control's Page_Load event is firing before the control events that caused the postback in the first place. Basically, the user clicks the search button, and Page_Load is fired BEFORE Search_Click. This is messing with the databinding scheme I've been using. So that's the question: Why is my Page_Load event firing before the event handler, and what can I do about it? I don't THINK this problem is related to WebForms MVP or ComponentArt, but obviously I could be wrong. Thanks.

  I'm about to begin work on a Django project for an image heavy non-profit "community arts" magazine. The magazine is published monthly with about 6-8 articles that include with 4-10 images. I've been looking around for other projects that people have started specifically for publishing in Django... Are there any publishing specific Django apps you'd recommend? At the moment the only thing I can find is django-newsroom which looks interesting. Currently I'm just Image Kit / Photologue to attach galleries to an Article Model... but I'd love to figure out a way to more fully integrate images into the article content. Thanks in advance

• Emacs: annoying Flymake dialog box.

  Hello I have the following lines in my ~/.emacs.d/init.el (custom-set-variables '(flymake-allowed-file-name-masks (quote ( ("\\.cc\\'" flymake-simple-make-init) ("\\.cpp\\'" flymake-simple-make-init))))) (add-hook 'find-file-hook 'flymake-find-file-hook) When I open a cc/cpp file that has a Makefile with the following content in the same folder I get proper on-the-fly compilation and error reporting (Flymake will check the syntax and report errors and warnings during code editing) .PHONY: check-syntax check-syntax: $(CXX) -Wall -Wextra -pedantic -fsyntax-only $(CHK_SOURCES) The problem is that when I open a .cc file that has no corresponding Makefile i get an annoying dialog box that warns me about flymake being disabled for every file opened. Is there some hook I can use to disable that warning? Can you provide sample elisp code and explanation on how you found the proper hook?

  I'm creating a simple PHP page that reads CSV file content and display some selected columns to users in pages Currently, I'm reading each line and display it immediately. Because of this method, I only know total of lines after finishing reading entire file( searching in file also). What I want is displaying two page navigations on the top and bottom of the list. Like this: Page 1|2|3|4 Field 1|Field 2|Field 3|Field 4|Field 5....|Field n Row1 Row2 .... Rown Page 1|2|3|4 After displaying all rows, bottom page nav, I used jquery function: insertBefore to insert another page navi to the top. Problems are: 1) Top page nav not displayed in IE8 but displayed ater pressing F5(worked in FF, Chrome). 2) Using insertBefore function, the top page nav is suddenly poppep up afer displaying the bottom one. It doesn't look naturally Any suggestion?

• Ruby Net::HTTP - Read only x number of bytes of the body

  It seems like the methods of Ruby's Net::HTTP are all or nothing when it comes to reading the body of a web page. How can I read, say, the just the first 100 bytes of the body? I am trying to read from a content server that returns a short error message in the body of the response if the file requested isn't available. I need to read enough of the body to determine whether the file is there. The files are huge, so I don't want to get the whole body just to check if the file is available.

• How to detect checkbox state in Javascript IE7

  I have a simple checkbox on my website. Everytime you check and uncheck it, it shows an alert as to what the state is. This works flawlessly in FF, Chrome, and IE8. However, when I run this in IE7, no matter if the check is on or off, it always alerts "off". It's like IE7 can't detect that the checkbox is checked. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this or work around it? I basically need to toggle the visibility of some content based on a checkbox, but IE7 is being difficult. Thanks!   Good day, I've got a simple CSS question. I'm trying to change a table into a CSS box, but aligning the table content is difficult to me right now. Below there's an example of what's inside of the css box i created. How can I align these three elements (calendar and icon to the left , a text link to the center, and the other date field to the right ?) correctly ? I've tried several things but the problem is getting it aligned properly. I want to change everything in this application that has been created with tables, to css. (eg. #FFAABB) But it can have multiple nulls.   I'm looking for options that allow very high-level web site development with these special characteristics: not requiring the user to program in a complex programming language not requiring the user to use GUI-like administration areas allow the user to "program" in a lightweight markup language The last point is not only about look and structure of the output but also about creating simple dynamic output. For example: listing pages fetching the content of other pages doing a site search and displaying its output dynamically show or hide parts of the page depending on login status Of course, I am not expecting a solution that provides the same possibilities like a Ruby, Python or PHP web framework. Rather I am looking for support of the "basics" that are common for web sites. Until now, I have found only one piece of software that fulfills these requirements but while it's free, it's not open source: BoltWire at http://www.boltwire.com/. Being open source is required.

• Regex to find external links from the html file using grep

  hello, From past few days I'm trying to develop a regex that fetch all the external links from the web pages given to it using grep. Here is my grep command grep -h -o -e "\(\(mailto:\|\(\(ht\|f\)tp\(s\?\)\)\)\://\)\{1\}\(.*\?\)" "/mnt/websites_folder/folder_to_search" -r now the grep seem to return everything after the external links in that given line Example if an html file contain something like this on same line GoogleYahoo then the given grep command return the following result http://www.google.com">Google</a><p><a href='https://yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a></p> the idea here is that if an html file contain more than one links(`irrespective in a,img etc`) in same line then the regex should fetch only the links and not all content of that line I managed to developed the same in rubular.com the regex is as follow ("|')(\b((ht|f)tps?:\/\/)(.*?)\b)("|') with work with the above input but iam not able to replicate the same in grep can anyone help I can't modify the html file so don't ask me to do that neither I can look for each specific tags and check their attributes to to get external links as it addup processing time and my application doesn't demand that Thank You

• Python TKinter connect variable to entry widget

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to associate a variable with a Tkinter entry widget, in a way that: Whenever I change the value (the "content") of the entry, mainly by typing something into it, the variable automatically gets assigned the value of what I've typed. Without me having to push a button "Update value " or something like that first. Whenever the variable gets changed (by some other part of the programm), I want the entry value displayed to be adjusted automatically. I believe that this could work via the textvariable. I read the example on http://effbot.org/tkinterbook/entry.htm, but it is not exactly helping me for what I have in mind. I have a feeling that there is a way of ensuring the first condition with using entry's "validate". Any ideas? Thank you for your input! Sano
