• Overlaying image also fades when images change in IE6 jQ slideshow

  I have a pretty basic slideshow fading between images. On top of that slideshow I have a logo that is absolute positioned to stay partly over the slideshow. It works perfectly, but then there is IE6. In IE6 the part of the logo that is overlaying the slideshow also fades when the images change in the slideshow. I really do not want to have half the logo in all the pictures in the slideshow, but that seems to be the only solution right now. • Which is the most memory leak safe approach.

  I have a table of frequently updated information. This is presented using a container div with a div for each row, each row containing 10 divs. I am using setInterval to call a an asmx webservice that returns some json formatted information. On the success callback I call $("#myContainer").empty(); on the container div and recreate the rows and 10 nested divs for each row's columns. This page may be left to run for a whole day, so I am wary of updating the DOM like this as I have noticed that memory does rise for the browser over time (IE8). The other approach I am considering is to add an idea to the row div. When new results process each item of data, look for the corresponding row, if it exists overwrite the data in each div. If it doesn't exist (new data for example), append the row. What approaches have others used for this sort of long lived pseudo realtime information display. TIA

• JSON Feed Appears to be XHR when it should be JS

  I don't get why it'd doing this with the 2nd feed (appearing as a XHR call rather than just JS [looking at it in Firefox/Firebug]). The 2nd feed has the exact same MIME type as Flickr's JSON feed, yet the PortlandOregon.gov one shows as XHR and i get a NULL callback when using $.getJSON and if i use $.ajax with a 'json' or 'jsonp' type i get nothing at all. If i do the Flickr one i get the normal "[object Object]" callback. Whats going on? Please help! This has been such a headache for about a week. And i have authorization to change the feed, but i have to request the change, so if anyone knows for absolute sure let me know that!   We are in the process of building a huge site. We are contemplating on whether to do the processing of HTML at server side (ASP .Net) or at the client side. For example we have HTML files which acts like templates for the generation of tabs. Is it better for the server side to get hold of content section (div) of HTML load the appropriate values and send the updated HTML to the browser or is it better that a chunk of data is passed onto client and make Javascript do the work?   Is there an easy and straight-forward method to select elements based on their data attribute? For example, select all anchors that has data attribute named customerID which has value of 22. • How do I include 2 tables in LocalStorage?

  I've got a table that you can edit, and I've got a simple code saving that list when you're done with editing it. (the tables have the contenteditable on) The problem I've stumbled upon is that if I double click on enter, the table gets divided into two separate tables with the same ID. This causes the code I'm using to set the localStorage to only store one of the tables (I assume the first).. I've thought of different solutions and I wonder if someone could point out the pro's and con's (if the solutions even works that is). Make a loop that checks the page after tables and stores them into an array of localStorage-items.. I'd have to dynamically create a localStorage item for each table. Take the whole div that the tables are in, and store that in the localStorage, when a user revisits the page, the page checks after the items in storage and displays the whole divs. Any suggestions you have that can beat this :).. (but no cache, it has to be with the localStorage!) Thanks
