  • How to avoid CSS conflict using jquery?

    I am experiencing a CSS conflict issue. Here are the details: I have a search results page in which products are shown in grid format. The CSS for that is grid search results is "product-grid.css" which is included header of the page. On this page I have button which when clicked shows the search results in list format. The css for list format is "product-list.css" which is also included in head tag of the page. Now the HTML guy has made the name of classes to be same in both product-grid.css and product-list.css. What I want is that when I am viewing the page in grid style only product-grid.css should apply to respective portion of the page. And when I am viewing the page in list format then product-grid.css should be disabled and product-list.css should apply on whole page. I have tried enabling and disabling css files using jquery but may be I am doing something wrong. Also when the page loads both css files are active in head tag and due to conflict in classes names the page is malformed even without shifting to other view. Any help what should I do?

  • How do I increase copy/paste buffer size in Linux

    Hi all, I'm trying to copy and paste lines of code to the linux terminal. However, I've noticed that when the copied text is too long (let's say, 60 or more lines), it gets trimmed and altered in an apparently random way (e.g. some characters missing). I found the same problem in Ubuntu Karmic Koala, Fedora 10 and Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope. Any clue why this happens and if I can increase the size of safely copy/pasteable text? Thanks!

  • When a li is appended, does it not become a part of the ul "for real"?

    I have right now this code: <ul><li class="listitem">text<li></ul> jQuery: $('.listitem').click(function() { $("#elname").text($(this).text()); $('#slists').css('visibility','hidden') $('#elname').css('visibility','visible') $('#elname').css('display','inline-block') }); This is supposed to hide a div and it does, but when I append items to the ul (with the class listitem) nothing happens with the appended item, the class it gets is correct, the title, and the value too. Can this have something to do with the code above being in the document ready function to do?

  • uneven illuminated images

    How to get rid of uneven illumination from images, that contain text data, usually printed but may be handwritten? It can have some spots of lights because the light reflected while making picture. I've seen the Halcon program's segment_characters function that is doing this work perfectly, but it is not open source. I wish to convert an image to the image that has a constant illumination at background and more dark colored regions of text. So that binarization will be easy and without noise. The text is assumed to be dark colored than it's background. Any ideas?

    Currently I am working with a commercial project with PHP. I think this question not really apply to PHP for all programming language, just want to discuss how your guys solve it. I work in MVC framework (CodeIgniter). all the database transaction code in model class. Previously, I seperate different search criteria with different function name. Just an example function get_student_detail_by_ID($id){} function get_student_detail_by_name($name){} as you can see the function actually can merge to one, just add a parameter for it. But something you are rushing with project, you won't look back previously got what similar function just make some changes can meet the goal. In this case, we found that there is a lot function there and hard to maintenance. Recently, we try to group the entity to one ultimate search something like this function get_ResList($is_row_count=FALSE, $record_start=0, $arr_search_criteria='', $paging_limit=20, $orderby='name', $sortdir='ASC') we try to make this function to fit all the searching criteria. However, our system getting bigger and bigger, the search criteria not more 1-2 tables. It require join with other table with different purpose. What we had done is using IF ELSE, if(bla bla bla) { $sql_join = JOIN_SOME_TABLE; $sql_where = CONDITION; } at the end, we found that very hard to maintance the function. it is very hard to debug as well. I would like to ask your opinion, what is the commercial solution they solve this kind of issue, how to define a function and how to revise it. I think this is link project management skill.     I'm looking to post the following type of data to a server using JQUERY & Coldfusion: foodID - int foodDESC - text html text from a WYSIWYG (CKEDITOR) --there will always be just 1 foodID and foodDESC per POST to the server but there can be a variable number of: locationID - int LocationDesc - text --There can be 0-8+ of these. Should I send this in one post or multiple posts? If one post, what's the smartest way to do this? I'm never had to deal with this much data before. Thank you

    I am trying to implement a custom infoBubble that has the box opening to the side of a marker. This has turned out to be harder than expected. Using the normal infoWindow you can use pixelOffset. See here for the documentation Using infoBubble this does not seem to be the case. Is there anyway of using pixelOffset in an infoBubble, or something that will do the same thing? For example, we only search for customers by one or more of the properties Id, Type, Name, or Age. We rarely search by anything else. Is a good data structure to support arbitrary queries of these types with lookup better than O(n)? Any out-of-the-box implementations for .NET?

  • Google Translation API not working for even one page long documents

    I'm using Google Translation API to translate text from Chinese Simplified to English in my C# program. The problem is if the text is small (around one line) the API is able to translate it, but if the text is larger (more than 3 lines) is gives an exception saying "The remote server returned an unexpected response: (414) Request-URI Too Large.". However if I use translate.google.com in my browser that works fine. Please tell me how can I process large documents using Google Translate API in my desktop application written in C#.

    Ok, I understand that using strings that have special characters is an encoding issue. However I am not sure how to adjust my code to allow these characters. I know just enough powershell to get in trouble, but can't figure out the syntax or coding to make this work. I have a text file that looks like this - Here is your list of servers: server1 server2.domain.local server3 Total number of servers: 3 I need to take that text file and drop the first and last lines (Always first and last.) Then I need to take every other line and basically turn it into a CSV file. I try to match M=s(s(0)) N=0, But it got a finite search - failture branch. Why the comipler doesn't write me "fail". Thank you.

    I'm trying to create an vocabulary study application using Obj-C and the Cocoa frameworks. I have about two week's experience in both areas and have reached an edge of my current knowledge. Here's where I'm stuck. When I press a checkbox, a corresponding plist is loaded into memory as an NSDictionary. I want to generate a "Label: Textfield" pair for each key:value pair, where the Label is the key. When the text typed into the Textfield matches the key's value, I want the Label's text to turn green. So how would I generate this grid, and once generated, how would I make the text green upon correct input? Thanks!

I've created a table that looks like this: create table votes ( bill text, senator_id text, vote text) I'm accessing it with something like this: v_cur.execute("select * from votes") row = v_cur.fetchone() bill = row[0] senator_id = row[1] vote = row[2] What I'd like to be able to do is have fetchone (or some other method) return a dictionary, rather than a list, so that I can refer to the field by name rather than position. For example: bill = row['bill'] senator_id = row['senator_id'] vote = row['vote'] I know you can do this with MySQL, but does anyone know how to do it with SQLite? Thanks!!!
