  • C++ template class error with operator ==

    - by Tommy
    Error: error C2678: binary '==' : no operator found which takes a left-hand operand of type 'const entry' (or there is no acceptable conversion) The function: template <class T, int maxSize> int indexList<T, maxSize>::search(const T& target) const { for (int i = 0; i < maxSize; i++) if (elements[i] == target) //ERROR??? return i; // target found at position i // target not found return -1; } indexList.h indexList.cpp Is this suppose to be an overloaded operator? Being a template class I am not sure I understand the error? Solution- The overload function in the class now declared const: //Operators bool entry::operator == (const entry& dE) const <-- { return (name ==dE.name); }

  • jQuery - want to get input value for submit but it gets one and repeats

    - by jquery n00b
    I'm trying to replace all submit buttons with a span so cufon will work. The input still needs to be there so have done some css to hide it and overlay to span on top. My issue is getting the value from the input tag is proving quite diffcult. The code below gets the first input value (being 'search' from the search box at the top of the page, and then puts that value into all the spans, even for buttons that have different values (eg: send). This is a .NET page so the whole page is wrapped in one form tag. Any help is greatly appreciated. jQUERY: jQuery(document).ready( function() { jQuery(".button-wrap input.button").each(function() { var values = jQuery(".button-wrap input").attr('value'); jQuery(this).before("<span class='input-replacer'>" +values+ "</span>"); });

  • IEnumerable and IEnumerator in the same class, bad idea?

    - by David Rutten
    Is this a bad idea? Private Class GH_DataStructureEnumerator(Of Q As Types.IGH_Goo) Implements IEnumerable(Of Q) Implements IEnumerator(Of Q) .... .... 'Current, MoveNext, Reset etc.' .... .... Public Function GetEnumerator_Generic() As IEnumerator(Of Q) _ Implements IEnumerable(Of Q).GetEnumerator Return Me End Function End Class This class is only visible as an IEnumerable(Of T) readonly property, and it saves me an additional class that wraps IEnumerator(Of T). But somehow it just seems wrong. Is there a better way?

  • asp.net mvc custom routes with multiple submit buttons

    - by dangerisgo
    So I have a custom route as such: routes.MapRoute( "Wizard", // Route name "Wizard/{page}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Wizard", action = "Index" } // Parameter defaults ); and have the following on my View: <% Html.BeginForm("Continue", "Wizard"); %> <input type="submit" value="Continue" name="Continue" /> <% Html.EndForm(); %> In which I want to call this function: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Continue(string Number, string Rev) { (...) } but in turn when that button is pressed always calls the postback Index rather than the one I want. If I remove the custom route, it calls my function, but what I want to be displayed in the address bar is: localhost:xxxx/Wizard/1 where the number at the end is the page (div shown) of the wizard either 1, 2, 3, or 4. So is there something I'm missing or can it not be done? Thanks.

  • Best practice for Python Assert

    - by meade
    Is there a performance or code maintenance issue with using assert as part of the standard code instead of using it just for debugging purposes? Is assert x >= 0, 'x is less then zero' and better or worse then if x < 0: raise Exception, 'x is less then zero' Also, is there anyway to set a business rule like if x < 0 raise error that is always checked with out the try, except, finally so, if at anytime throughout the code x is < 0 an error is raised, like if you set assert x < 0 at the start of a function, anywhere within the function where x becomes less then 0 an exception is raised?

  • Clean Microsoft Word Pasted Text using JavaScript

    - by OneNerd
    I am using a 'contenteditable' div and enabling PASTE. It is amazing the amount of markup code that gets pasted in from a clipboard copy from Microsoft Word. I am battling this, and have gotten about 1/2 way there using Prototypes' stripTags() function (which unfortunately does not seem to enable me to keep some tags). However, even after that, I wind up with a mind-blowing amount of unneeded markup code. So my question is, is there some function (using JavaScript), or approach I can use that will clean up the majority of this unneeded markup? Thanks -

  • How to condense onclick code to be dynamic

    - by opbeta
    I am trying to get this onclick function code to be dynamic. I do not want to have 50 blocks of code for all the states. He is a quick snippet of the code var Ohio=function(){ document.getElementById('texas').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('florida').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('ohio').style.display='block'; } and so on and so forth..... How would I go about condensing this to make it smaller and dynamic?

  • With wordpress, is there a statement like current_user_can except show something if a user does not

    - by zac
    I am trying to show a custom css depending on user permissions with a function like : <?php if ( !current_user_can( 'install_themes' ) ) { ?> <link media="all" type="text/css" href="<?php bloginfo( 'template_directory' ); ?>/library/styles/customAdmin.css" rel="stylesheet"> <?php } Perhaps I am being dense about this but I want to do the reverse and show specific CSS if a user can not, in this case, install_themes. I am doing it this way because the css hides parts of the admin area that I do not want hidden globally. I could probably do this with liberal use of !important in my style sheetsbut I was hoping there was an easier way to write this in the function. Or is there a way to write <?php if ( current_user_can('level_7') ) : ?> with something like if < level_7 ?

  • git-diff in another directory

    - by ABach
    I'm currently writing a little zsh function that checks all of my git repositories to see if they're dirty or not and then prints out the ones that need a commit. Thus far, I've figured out that the quickest way to figure out a git repository's clean/dirty status is via git-diff and git-ls-files: if ! git diff --quiet || git ls-files --others --exclude-standard; then state=":dirty" fi I have two questions for you folks: Does anyone know of a quicker, more efficient way to check for file changes/additions in a git repo? I want my zsh function to be handed a file path (say ~/Code/git-repos/) and check all of the repositories in it. Is there a way to do without having to cd into each directory and run those commands? Something like git-diff --quiet --git-dir="~/Code/git-repos/..." would be fantastic. Thanks! :)

  • How can I show a div, then hide the other divs when a link is clicked?

    - by Abriel
    I am right now trying to hide six divs while showing only one of the divs. I've tried JavaScript and in jQuery, but nothing seems to work! Click here to get to the website. I would like to know if it has to do with my CSS, jQuery, or the HTML. Or is there an easier way of doing this? • HLSL How can one pass data between shaders / read existing colour value?

    - by RJFalconer
    Hello all, I have 2 HLSL ps2.0 shaders. Simplified, they are: Shader 1 Reads texture Outputs colour value based on this texture Shader 2 Needs to read in existing colour (or have it passed in/read from a register) Outputs the final colour which is a function of the previous colour (They need to be different shaders as I've reached the maximum vertex-shader outputs for 1 shader) My problem is I cannot work out how Shader 2 can access the existing fragment/pixel colour. Is the only way for shaders to interact really just the alpha blending options? These aren't sufficient if I want to use the colour as input to my function.

  • Delphi: how to efficently read a big binary file, converting it to hexadecimal for passing it as a v

    - by user193655
    I need to convert a binary file (a zip file) into hexadecimal representation, to then send it to sql-server as a varbinary(max) function parameter. A full example (using a very small file!) is: 1) my file contains the following bits 000011110000111 2) I need a procedure to QUICKLY convert it to 0F0F 3) I will call a sql server function passing 0x0F0F as parameter The problem is that I have large files (up to 100MB, even if average file size is 100KB files are possible), so I need the fastest way to do this. Otherwise stated: I need to create the string '0x'+BinaryDataInHexadecimalRepresentation in the most efficient way. Related question: passing hexadecimal data to sql server

  • Javascript Onclicks not working?

    - by Georges Oates Larsen
    I have a jQuery application which finds a specific div, and edit's its inner HTML. As it does this, it adds several divs with onclicks designed to call a function in my JS. For some strange reason, clicking on these never works if I have a function defined in my code set to activate. However, it works fine when calling "alert("Testing");". I am quite bewildered at this as I have in the past been able to make code-generated onclicks work just fine. The only thing new here is jQuery.

  • Returning mySQL error with jQuery & AJAX

    - by kel
    I've got a form inserting data into mySQL. It works but I'm trying to add error handling in case something happens. If I break the Insert statements mySQL dies but I'm still getting a success message on the front end. What am I doing wrong? AJAX function postData(){ var employeeName = jQuery('#employeeName').val(); var hireDate = jQuery('#hireDate').val(); var position = jQuery('#position').val(); var location = jQuery('#location').val(); var interveiwer = jQuery('#interviewersID').val(); var q01 = jQuery('#q01').val(); var q02 = jQuery('#q02').val(); var q03 = jQuery('#q03').val(); var q04 = jQuery('#q04').val(); var q05 = jQuery('#q05').val(); var summary = jQuery('#summary').val(); jQuery.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'queryDay.php', data: 'employeeName='+ employeeName +'&hireDate='+ hireDate +'&position='+ position +'&location='+ location +'&interveiwer='+ interveiwer +'&q01='+ q01 +'&q02='+ q02 +'&q03='+ q03 +'&q04='+ q04 +'&q05='+ q05 +'&summary='+ summary, success: function(){ jQuery('#formSubmitted').show(); }, error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown){ jQuery('#returnError').html(errorThrown); jQuery('#formError').show(); } }); }; PHP require_once 'config.php'; $employeeName = $_POST['employeeName']; $hireDate = $_POST['hireDate']; $position = $_POST['position']; $location = $_POST['location']; $interviewerID = $_POST['interveiwer']; $q01 = $_POST['q01']; $q02 = $_POST['q02']; $q03 = $_POST['q03']; $q04 = $_POST['q04']; $q05 = $_POST['q05']; $summary = $_POST['summary']; mysql_query("INSERT INTO employee (name, hiredate, position, location) VALUES ('$employeeName', '$hireDate', '$position', '$location')") or die (mysql_error()); $employeeID = mysql_insert_id(); mysql_query("INSERT INTO day (employee, interviewer, datetaken, q01, q02, q03, q04, q05, summary) VALUES ('$employeeID', '$interviewerID', NOW(), '$q01', '$q02', '$q03', '$q04', '$q05', '$summary')") or die (mysql_error());

  • dojo connect mouseover and mouseout

    - by peirix
    When setting up dojo connections to onmouseover and onmouseout, and then adding content on mouseover, dojo fires the onmouseout event at once, since there is new content. Example: dojo.query(".star").parent().connect("onmouseover", function() { dojo.query("span", this).addContent("<img src='star-hover.jpg'>"); }).connect("onmouseout", function() { dojo.destroy(dojo.query("img", this)[0]); }); The parent() is a <td>, and the .star is a span. I want to add the hover image whenever the user hovers the table cell. It works as long as the cursor doesn't hover the image, because that will result in some serious blinking. Is this deliberate? And is there a way around it?

  • How to lock the Screen customly? Just like WaveSecure in Android

    - by HackNone
    I want to do a demo just like WaveSecure, which win Android Develop Challenge 2 with a third place. Now I have a problem in locking the screen customly, so I want to know how WaveSecure achieve its locking function, as the following picture show: http://goo.gl/XlPP When the mobile is locked, WaveSecure can require customer to input their own password. So I think WaveSecure must replace Android's original locking function. And I also google it, but I didn't find anything helpful. I only find two packages may be helpful. They are: android.app.KeyguardManager android.os.PowerManager But after I reading the Android Docs, I still can't have an idea on it. Can you help me? Thx:)

  • Getting javascript mouse position relative to website prefferably without jQuery

    - by Constructor
    I've found this snippet on Ajaxian, but I can't seem to use the cursor.y (or cursor.x) as a variable and when the function is called as such it does not seem to work. Is there a syntax problem or something else? function getPosition(e) { e = e || window.event; var cursor = {x:0, y:0}; if (e.pageX || e.pageY) { cursor.x = e.pageX; cursor.y = e.pageY; } else { cursor.x = e.clientX + (document.documentElement.scrollLeft || document.body.scrollLeft) - document.documentElement.clientLeft; cursor.y = e.clientY + (document.documentElement.scrollTop || document.body.scrollTop) - document.documentElement.clientTop; } return cursor; } I'd preffer not to use jQuery UI if possible, since I've always thaught of jQuery and librarys as a bit of an overkill for most JS programing.

  • Inserting a table column with jQuery

    I have a table of data that I need to dynamically add a column to. Lets say I have this basic table to start with: <table> <tr><td>cell 1</td><td>cell 2</td><td>cell 3</td></tr> <tr><td>cell 1</td><td>cell 2</td><td>cell 3</td></tr> <tr><td>cell 1</td><td>cell 2</td><td>cell 3</td></tr> </table> I would like to insert a column between cell 1 and cell 2 in each row... I've tried this but it just isn't working like I expect... maybe I need more caffeine. $(document).ready(function(){ $('table').find('tr').each(function(){ $(this).prepend('<td>cell 1a</td>'); }) })

  • Turning temporary stringstream to c_str() in single statement

    - by AshleysBrain
    Consider the following function: void f(const char* str); Suppose I want to generate a string using stringstream and pass it to this function. If I want to do it in one statement, I might try: f((std::ostringstream() << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); // error This gives an error: 'str()' is not a member of 'basic_ostream'. OK, so operator<< is returning ostream instead of ostringstream - how about casting it back to an ostringstream? 1) Is this cast safe? f(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream() << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); // incorrect output Now with this, it turns out for the operator<<("Value: ") call, it's actually calling ostream's operator<<(void*) and printing a hex address. This is wrong, I want the text. 2) Why does operator<< on the temporary std::ostringstream() call the ostream operator? Surely the temporary has a type of 'ostringstream' not 'ostream'? I can cast the temporary to force the correct operator call too! f(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream()) << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); This appears to work and passes "Value: 5" to f(). 3) Am I relying on undefined behavior now? The casts look unusual. I'm aware the best alternative is something like this: std::ostringstream ss; ss << "Value: " << 5; f(ss.str().c_str()); ...but I'm interested in the behavior of doing it in one line. Suppose someone wanted to make a (dubious) macro: #define make_temporary_cstr(x) (static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream()) << x).str().c_str()) // ... f(make_temporary_cstr("Value: " << 5)); Would this function as expected?
