The video plays, so that's working BUT: I want to have an old school tv (round corners) in foreground with switches and so on. The tv is an image with transparent pixels in the middle, so that a video lying behind the tv will shine through as if the video would be shown on the tv. But first of all the video has a border that I can't remove and second it's always in the foreground. In Safari and in Firefox and Mac it's working. So is it an iPhone thing, could it be that it simply won't work on iPhone ? Or do I have some css/html typos ?

  • Javascript menu that hovers over initial element

    I'm trying to build a javascript menu using prototype that when you mouseover an element, that element is hidden and a bigger element is shown in its place that closes onmouseout. This is what I have so far to give you an idea, but it doesn't work and is buggy.   • Best way for a remote web app to authenticate users in my current web app?

    So a bit of background, I'm working on an existing web application which has a set of users, who are able to log in via a traditional login screen with a user name and password, etc. Recently we've managed to score a client (who have their own Intranet site), who are wanting to be able to have their users log into their Intranet site, and then have their users click a link on their Intranet which redirects to our application and logs them into it automatically. I've had two suggestions on how to implement this so far: Create a URL which takes 2 parameters (which are "username" and "password") and have the Intranet site pass those parameters to us (our connection is via TLS so it's all encrypted). This would work fine, but it seems a little "hacky", and also means that the logins and passwords have to be the same on both systems (and having to write some kind of web service which can update the passwords for users - which also seems a bit insecure) Provide a token to the Intranet, so when the client clicks on a link on the Intranet, it sends the token to us, along with the user name (and no password) which means they're authenticated. Again, this sounds a bit hacky as isn't that essentially the same as providing everyone with the same password to log in? So to summarise, I'm after the following things: A way for the users who are already authenticated on the Intranet to log into our system without too much messing around, and without using an external system to authenticate, i.e. LDAP / Kerberos Something which isn't too specific to this client, and can easily be implemented by other Intranets to log in

  • using paperclip with secure and non-secure files

    First off, we have this namespaced/sti'd structure for our different types of 'Media' Media< Ar::Base Media::Local < Media Media::Local::Image < Media::Local Media::Local::Csv < Media::Local etc... etc.. This is excellent since a user can have many media, and how we display each piece of media is based on the class name and a co-responding partial. But what if we have some Csv's that need to be secure? That is, they can't reside inside of public. I really hate the idea of branching Media again and doing something like this: Media::Secure < Media Media::Secure::Image < Media::Secure Media::NotSecure < Media Media::NotSecure::Image < Media::NotSecure ...where Secure and NotSecure would have different params passed to has_attached_file. Now there are two classes that represent Image and it makes my view/helper system that much more complicated -- not to mention it feels very obtuse. What I would really like to do is be able to change where certain Paperclip::Attachment objects get saved before they get saved (e.g. anything uploaded through foo_secure_action) -- but I can't seem to make this work. Paperclip::Attachment has an @options hash with :path and :url, but changing those before it is saved doesn't have an effect on where it actually gets set. Even if this is possible, I'm not sure if it would have further consequences... I'm open to alternative ideas for structuring this data, but for the moment I like the idea of using STI for this situation.

    I have been using Windows 7 for a while but have not had to work with a particular legacy intranet application since my upgrade. Unfortunately, this application is setup as an ASP.NET Website project hosted on a remote server. When I have the website open in Visual Studio 2008 and try to debug it I get the following compiler error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission' failed To resolve this issue on Windows Vista machines, I would change the machine's .NET Security Configuration trust level to full for the local intranet (fix outlined here). I believe this configuration utility relied upon the mscorcfg.msc which from some cursory research appears to be apart of the .NET 2.0 SDK. I have tried to follow the instructions from this Microsoft Support article running the command below to no avail. Drive:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\caspol.exe -m -ag 1 -url "file:////\\computername\sharename\*" FullTrust -exclusive on Presently, I have the following .NET and ASP.NET components installed on my machine Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP2 Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 1.0 Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 2 Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 2 - Visual Studio 2008 Tools Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 2 - Visual Studio 2010 Tools Do I need to install the .NET 2.0 SDK?     OK, This is starting to get mildly irritating.   • Working with partial views

    Hi. I'm trying to create a page that contains a grid and searching. The issue is that I want to have a partial view for the grid and one for the searching. If doing a search, this should render the grid partial view with the new information. At the moment I need information, such as what column I'm sorting by and so on, from the grid (currently stored in viewdata), in order to do the search as I want to keep those settings. This information is only available in the grid partial though. What's the best approach of this to make it neat and nice in the code, but not a mess to work with? Where can I store information that I need in the other partial view?   • Parsing XML via jQuery, nested loops

    I am using jQuery to parse XML on my page using $.ajax(). My code block is below and I can get this working to display say each result on the XML file, but I am having trouble because each section can have MORE THAN ONE and im trying to print ALL grades that belong to ONE STUDENT.     I've just started learning PowerShell this morning, and I'm grappling with the basics. Here's the problem: I want to query subversion for the revision number of a repository, and then create a new directory with this revision number. The command svn_info outputs a number of label\value pairs, delimited by colons.     I'm trying to send data through a POST request from a node.js server to another node.js server. The only thing I don't see is how to include username and password in the options variable to actually login.   • Images missing after moving Django to new server

    I'm moving Django project to new server. I'm newbie in Django, and I don't know where should be upload folder. There are all images which should be displayed on website. In config file I haven't seen upload folder I could specify, so I'm guessing it always should be the same location for django projects or I just can't find it. Locations are saved in database. When I've put uploaded files into media folder, so url was like domain.co.uk/media/upload/media/images/year/month/day/image_name.ext and the same is on the old website, images on website ware still missing. All images are visible if I put url by hand, but django doesn't seems to see files.   • How to control Dojo FilteringSelect default rendering!?

    Hi, I have a dojo dijit.filering.select that populates with values from a dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore. Everything is working fine except I would like the filtering select to automatically get populated with the first value in the itemFileReadStore. Currently it is loading them as a list of options that are revealed when you click the down arrow, as per spec. I would instead like filteringSelect to be loaded with the first value. How do I do this? For some reason I cant figure it out. Any help would be hugely appreciated!   • jquery Ajax call resulting in Undefined Error in Firefox

    Hi I've been pulling my hair out for the last few hours with this problem. And the googling has been hampered by the very vagueness of this. So let me apologise for that first. Basically I'm using jquery and ajax (with C#) to return data from the backend and display that to the screen. The code works perfectly for firefox and IE. But when the data gets too large (??) (1500+ table rows) all I get is an undefined popup. Debugging in firefox (3.6) it doesn't even go into the success method. Worse still it doesn't even go into the error method. A lot of superfluous information there, but I'd rather show everything I'm doing.     Hi, we are solving the problem with eshop (php, mysql). The client want to have the same eshop on two domains with shared shopping cart. In the shop customer can do the shopping without users account (can't be logged in). And there is the problem, how to make the shared shopping cart cross domain. The data from cart is stored in sessions, which we stored in database too. But we can't solve the problem in carrying data over domains. Identifying unlogged user is not holeproof (research). The example, how it should work Customer goes to domainOne and add some things to the cart. Than he goes to domainTwo (by link, typing domain address, however) and add some other things to the cart. In the cart he has things from both domains (after refreshing page). Do you have any idea, how to solve this problem? What didn't work: redirecting is not possible due to customer requirments cookies are related to domain set_cookie with the other domain didn't work the simpliest way is to carry over only the sessionid (stored in cookies) but we don't know, how to wholeproof identify unlogged users. is there any other place, where data can be stored on client side except cookies? (probably not) we can't use sending sessionid by params in url (if user click to link to the other domain) or resolving the header referer, bcs we don't know, how user can achieve the other domain. If you can't understand me, take me a question. If you think, that having eshop on two domains with shared (common) cart is bad idea, don't tell me, we know it. Thanks for each answer.

  • emacs frustration with web development any working dot-files?

    I really liked flexibility of emacs but it is really annoying to make it work. I want to use it for web development html, css, javascript, php. I first tried emacs-starter-kit . It didn't included nXhtml. Also C-g key binding does not work (they call it starter kit but basic key command does not work). I think it is mapped for git control. That's a frustration for a beginner. Then I replaced emacs-starter-kit with nXhtml. At least C-g is working. But code completion sucks, M-tab does not work. I tried code completion from nXhtml menu with no success. Also NXhtml mode did'nt colorized my file if css is mixed with html. Isn't it recommended for mixed html, css,php files. So why it doesnt work?. Why Emacs folks do not aware of convention over configuration? Dam! ship it something works! Please help me before I am getting crazy. I use Ubuntu 10.04 and emacs-snaphot-gtk 23.1.50-1. Please guide me step by step with your working dotfile url. Even I accept I am a dummy, it is really annoying and frustrating to use emacs.

    I have completed the MVC Music Store application, and now am making my own modifications for practice, and also to prepare me to do similar tasks in my job. What I have done, is create a view that displays the current list of users. I have done this as I want to be able to change the passwords of users should they forget them.     Hi, I am trying to use the pchart package (over php) to build (and directly display) graphs/charts. At this time, I am just trying to run their provided example (Example1.php), where I just have replaced the final: $Test-Render("example1.png"); by $Test-Stroke(); But When I do this, I get:" The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors" on the browser. If I leave the original "$Test-Render(...)" the generated image is OK. (but not sent) I have read that there is (was?) an issue with mozilla/Firefox browsers regarding images being required twice and the REFER URL, but when I browse at the pchart home page, I can use their "sanboxes" and get the result of my tests directly displayed on my browser (http://pchart.sourceforge.net/demo.php). ... So their must be a way (or a nice work around) to send the generated graphs directely to the browser successfuly. If your answer is to generate the image (i.e. use Render) and then send it afterwards, please but accurate on how to do this (how do I destroy the generated files automaticaly, permissions...) I am new to this, sorry advance if it's obvious...;-)

    Hello, Problem: I want to list n number of games from each genre (order not important) The following MySQL query resides inside a ColdFusion function. It is meant to list all games under a platform (for example, list all PS3 games; list all Xbox 360 games; etc...). The variable for PlatformID is passed through the URL. I have 9 genres, and I would like to list 10 games from each genre. If I place a "limit" of 50 in the SQL, I will get ~ 50 games of the same genre (depending on how much games of that genre there are). The second issue is I don't want the overload of querying the database for all games when each person will only look at a few. What is the correct way to do this? Many thanks!

    I have some confusion with how spring security works: In my application, I need to have a login page for users after which they are redirected back the page from where they came. I went through a few spring security tutorials and read some articles, and the examples work by securing a certain page on a site (managed by the <intercept url ..> tag). Then Spring security will generate a login page (or you can specify your own) in order to access the secured page. I am confused because I don't want to necessary secure a given page on my site: I want a login page for users to log into after which they have access to elevated features of the site (through spring security's authorization features). My question is: given what I described, what would be the strategy to create this login page which, after login, would grant the logged in user the appropriate authorities? The hack I thought of would be to create a simple JSP page who's only function is to redirect back to the previous page. Then I would use Spring Security to secure that JSP page. But it seems like there should be a better way of doing this... Thanks

  • Subversive Connector Discovery error

    Trying to install Subversive for the first time. Successfully installed Subversive "Team Provider" via the Available Sites dialog in Help Install New Software. Added a site that points to the Helios Update Site. Restarted Eclipse and tried to open the SVN Repository Browser and it automatically launched a Subversive Connector Discovery dialog, presenting me with 6 or 7 connectors to choose from. I've tried every single one, and they all fail, stating that an "error occured" and that I need to check the "error log" (Eclipse error log?) for details. I then exited the dialog and noticed that I can now view all the SVN-related perspective panes. (1) Was it alright for me to cancel that Connector Discovery process, or will I need that to create/edit repositories locally? If I need it, what was going wrong and does anyone have any ideas for how to get it working? (2) I'm trying to undertand the SVN Repositories feature for creating a new repository. How do I point it to my local SVN server instance? The default is to query me for a URL that I assume I would point to one of those "publicly available" repos.... which I don't want!     Hello, while starting JBoss 5.1.0.GA in virtual server machine on Debian (linux-VServer technology) I get the following error: ERROR [org.jboss.kernel.plugins.dependency.AbstractKernelController] (main) Error installing to Start: name=jboss.remoting:protocol=rmi,service=JMXConnectorServer state=Create mode=Manual requiredState=Installed java.io.IOException: Cannot bind to URL [rmi://10.1.2.11:1090/jmxconnector]: javax.naming.NoPermissionException [Root exception is java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.AccessException: Registry.Registry.bind disallowed; origin /AA.BB.CC.DD is non-local host] where AA.BB.CC.DD is host machine name, 10.1.2.11 is vserver guest with JBoss and JBoss is started with -b 10.1.2.11 (I also tried -Djboss.bind.address=10.1.2.11 - the same result). 10.1.2.11 is bound to dummy2 interface on host (serving 10.1.2.1 network). The root exception is strange - why JBoss wants to bind to host address AA.BB.CC.DD? There were no problems with 4.2.3.GA on the same machine, also started with -b 10.1.2.11. It starts correctly when no params present - binds to localhost and everything is ok, but it MUST be bound to 10.1.2.11 to be visible by Apache on another vserver guest, acting as proxy. I thought that it can be fixed by setting net.ipv4.conf.all.promote_secondaries=1 via sysctl (was 0) but it didn't help much. Has anyone had such problem? Regards, bart

    I am reading the contents of a webpage using BeautifulSoup. What I want is to just grab the <a href> that start with http://. I know in beautifulsoup you can search by the attributes. I guess I am just having a syntax issue. Thanks in advance. EDIT This isn't for any site in particular. The script gets the url from the user. So internal link targets would be an issue, that's also why I only want the <'a'> from the pages.     I'm attempting to remove accents from characters in PHP string as the first step to making the string usable in a URL. I'm using the following code: $input = "Fóø Bår"; setlocale(LC_ALL, "en_US.utf8"); $output = iconv("utf-8", "ascii//TRANSLIT", $input); print($output); The output I would expect would be something like this: F'oo Bar However, instead of the accented characters being transliterated they are replaced with question marks: F?? B?r Everything I can find online indicates that setting the locale will fix this problem, however I'm already doing this. I've already checked the following details: The locale I am setting is supported by the server (included in the list produced by locale -a) The source and target encodings (UTF-8 and ASCII) are supported by the server's version of iconv (included in the list produced by iconv -l) The input string is UTF-8 encoded (verified using PHP's mb_check_encoding function, as suggested in the answer by mercator) The call to setlocale is successful (it returns 'en_US.utf8' rather than FALSE) The cause of the problem: The server is using the wrong implementation of iconv. It has the glibc version instead of the required libiconv version. Note that the iconv function on some systems may not work as you expect. In such case, it'd be a good idea to install the GNU libiconv library. It will most likely end up with more consistent results. – PHP manual's introduction to iconv Details about the iconv implementation that is used by PHP are included in the output of the phpinfo function. (I'm not able to re-compile PHP with the correct iconv library on the server I'm working with for this project so the answer I've accepted below is the one that was most useful for removing accents without iconv support.)

If it's written without www becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/. If someone writes mainurl.net/about it becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/about/.
