• What is the easiest way to loop through a folder of files in C#?

  I am new to C# and am trying to write a program that navigates the local file system using a config file containing relevant filepaths. My question is this: What are the best practices to use when performing file I/O (this will be from the desktop app to a server and back) and file system navigation in C#? I know how to google, and I have found several solutions, but I would like to know which of the various functions is most robust and flexible. As well, if anyone has any tips regarding exception handling for C# file I/O that would also be very helpful. Thanks!!! badPanda

• iphone: Accessing Code for Elements Created in Interface Builder

  I am attempting to create a basic tab-bar application using interface builder. I create a new project in Xcode selecting tab bar application. My question is how can I access the code that instantiates and pushes each of the views when the tab bar buttons are pressed? I would imagine that would be done by the tab bar controller, however when I write the class file from interface builder (filewrite class files), it just creates a blank generic TabBarController.h/TabBarController.m without the methods for pushing each of the views associated with the tab bar elements. I ask this because I would like to pass each view controller a reference to the data model when they are instantiated. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  There is article in here, however I am still in doubt, as some people keep confusing me. Doesn't Spring really support Interface injection at all? So what I want to clarify: setSomething(somethingInterface something); // this IS NOT interface injection, IT IS setter injection? Interface injection is when you just write `implements someExportedModuleInterface' and it configures it automatically? Could you please give an example of how this interface injection is done with Spring 'aware' interfaces? I am writing dissertation and I want to be sure what I am saying is not lie and correct.

  Hi, I want to make it possible for the administrator to log in as a fontend user from the backend. Right now I'm using two sessions (sessions with different names), one for the admin and one for the frontend. Is it possible to write in the first session, close it and then open a new session?   Hi, I'm working on a Django project where I need to provide a lot of different visualizations on the same data (for example average of a value for each month, for each year / for a location, etc ...). I have been using OLAP database once in college, and I thought that it would fit my needs, but it appears that it is much to heavy for what I need. Actually the volume of data is not very big, so I don't need any optimization, just a way to present different visualizations of the same data without having to write 1000 times the same code. So let's recap : I need a python library : to emulate a multidimensional database (OLAP style would be nice because I think it is quite convenient : stat structure, and everything) non-intrusive, because I can't modify anything on the existing mysql database easy-to-use, because otherwise there's no point in replacing some overhead by another.

  Hi everyone, I've been hunting for an answer to this on South's site, google, and SO, but couldn't find a simple way to do this. I want to rename a Django model using South. Say you have the following: class Foo(models.Model): name = models.CharField() class FooTwo(models.Model): name = models.CharField() foo = models.ForeignKey(Foo) and you want to convert Foo to Bar, namely class Bar(models.Model): name = models.CharField() class FooTwo(models.Model): name = models.CharField() foo = models.ForeignKey(Bar) To keep it simple, I'm just trying to change the name from Foo to Bar, but ignore the 'foo' member in FooTwo for now. What's the easiest way to do this using South? a) I could probably do a data migration, but that seems pretty involved. b) Write a custom migration, e.g. db.rename_table('city_citystate', 'geo_citystate'), but I'm not sure how to fix the foreign key in this case. c) An easier way that you know?   I am looking to create n-grams from text column in PostgreSQL. I currently split(on white-space) data(sentences) in a text column to an array. select regexp_split_to_array(sentenceData,E'\s+') from tableName Once I have this array, how do I go about: Creating a loop to find n-grams, and write each to a row in another table Using unnest I can obtain all the elements of all the arrays on separate rows, and maybe I can then think of a way to get n-grams from a single column, but I'd loose the sentence boundaries which I wise to preserve.   suppose i have a dll with 2 functions.name of dll="dll1" f1(int a, int b, int c); f2(int a); my program would take the funtion name ,the dll name and a "list" of parameters as input. how would i call the appropriate function with its appropriate parameters. i.e, if input is dll1 f1 list(5,8,9) this would require me to call f1 with 3 parameters if input was dll1 f2 list(8) it would require me to call f2 with one parameter how would i call the function without knowing the number of parameters in advance. further clarification: how do I write code that will call any function with all its arguments by building the argument list dynamically using some other source of information

• Custom DataGridView column sort based on Value not Formatted value

  I have a custom DGV cell I'm using to display the contents of MyType objects. To control how they're being formatted I'm overriding the GetFormattedValue() and FormattedvalueType methods of DataGridViewTextBoxCell because in this case I don't want to use the default ToString() method. The problem is that when I do this the DGV is sorting the column by the string in FormattedValue instead of by Value. I'm not seeing a method I can override to change the sort behavior of the column. While I know I can, I don't want to have to write custom Sort mthods for the DGVs themselves because I'm using this in multiple DGV's.

  Hello, Is it available to write a query to use same "LIMIT (from), (count)", but get result in backwards? In example if I have 8 rows in the table and I want to get 5 rows in two steps I would: first step query: select * from table limit 0, 5 first step result: first 5 rows; second step query: select * from table limit 5, 5 second step result: last 3 rows; But I want to get it vice versa.   I'm trying to write a makefile using CC on Solaris 10. [Only the first bit of that really matters, I think]. I have the following rule for foo.o: foo.o: foo.cc common_dependencies.h CC -c foo.cc -I../../common Unfortunately, common_dependencies.h includes all sorts of idiosyncratic trash, in directories not named '.' or '../../common' . Is this just going to have to be a brute force makefile where I ferret out all of the dependency paths? All of the dependencies are somewhere under '../..', but sometimes 1-level down and sometimes 2-levels down.

  Once the singleton pattern is understood, writing subsequent singleton classes in C# is a brainless exercise. I would hope that the framework would help you by providing an interface or a base class to do that. Here is how I envision it: public sealed class Schablone : ISingleton<Schablone> { // Stuff forced by the interface goes here // Extra logic goes here } Does what I am looking for exist? Is there some syntactic sugar for constructing a singleton class - whether with an interface, a class attribute, etc.? Can one write a useful and bullet-proof ISingleton themselves? Care to try? • How do I track images embedded in HTML?

  Hi, I'd like to track the views/impressions of images on web pages, but still allow the images to be embedded in HTML, like in the "img src="http://mysite.com/upload/myimage.jpg"/" element. I know in Windows I can write a handler for ".jpg" so the URL will actually trigger a handling function instead of loading the images from disk. Is it possible to do that in python/django on Ubuntu server? Can web browser still cache the jpg files if it is not a straight file path? It looks to me that this is how google picasaweb handles the image file name. I'd like to get some ideas on how to implement that. Thanks! -Yi

  I'm trying to solve a variant of the dot game with dynamic programming. The regular dot game is played with a line of dots. Each player takes either one or two dots at their respective end of the line and the person who is left with no dots to take wins. In this version of the game, each dot has a different value. Each player takes alternate turns and takes either dot at either end of the line. I want to come up with a way to use dynamic programming to find the max amount that the first player is guaranteed to win. I'm having problems grasping my head around this and trying to write a recurrence for the solution. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

• Iterate over a dict or list in Python

  Just wrote some nasty code that iterates over a dict or a list in Python. I have a feeling this was not the best way to go about it. The problem is that in order to iterate over a dict, this is the convention: for key in dict_object: dict_object[key] = 1 But modifying the object properties by key does not work if the same thing is done on a list: # Throws an error because the value of key is the property value, not # the list index: for key in list_object: list_object[key] = 1 The way I solved this problem was to write this nasty code: if isinstance(obj, dict): for key in obj: do_loop_contents(obj, key) elif isinstance(obj, list): for i in xrange(0, len(obj)): do_loop_contents(obj, i) def do_loop_contents(obj, key): obj[key] = 1 Is there a better way to do this? • Netbeans GUI Form corrupted?

  I was making a java gui application through netbeans IDE. All was working fine but yesterday when I opened the form in Netbeans, it said that the form had been corrupted and it could only open that form in read-only mode. When I opened that form in read-only mode, I found that the code was incomplete as severals lines of coding wasn't there at the end. Could anybody tell me how to recover the form. The form is perfect in lookwise but the generated code is incomplete. The code is too long to write it again. The Netbeans told me to get help from http://wiki.netbeans.org/FormGuardedBlockError but I didn't find any helpful information there.

  It's been a while since I've had to do any html-like code in vim, but recently I came across this again. Say I'm doing a simple bit of a html page: <html><head><title>This is a title</title></head></html> How do I write those closing tags for title, head and html down quickly? I feel like I'm missing some really simple way here that does not involve me going through writing them all down one by one. Of course I can use ^P to autocomplete the individual tag names but what gets me on my laptop keyboard is actually getting the brackets and slash right.

• How do I run JUnit tests from inside my java application?

  Is it possible to run JUnit tests from inside my java application? Are there test frameworks I can use (such as JUnit.jar?), or am I force to find the test files, invoke the methods and track the exceptions myself? The reason why I am asking is my application requires a lot of work to start launch (lots of dependencies and configurations, etc) and using an external testing tool (like JUnit Ant task) would require a lot of work to set up. It is easier to start the application and then inside the application run my tests. Is there an easy test framework that runs tests and output results from inside a java application or am I forced to write my own framework?
