  • jQuery UI: Dialog button styling

    - by Peter Bridger
Is there an easy way to apply CSS/icons to the modal buttons on a jQuery UI modal dialog box? If I include the HTML to display an icon with the button text, it shows the HTML as text rather than rendering the code. I'm guessing I could write some jQuery to find the button and overwrite the HTML with what I want, but I'm hoping there's an easier more direct way.

What my requirement is, i wish to load user names from DB in dataset, convert it to JSON format and store it in memory or using jQuery data for use while a user is browsing my site, i.e for a session. This way I can use autocomplete or my own code to display data to user. Can anyone help me design such a scenario?

  • avoid textarea rows/cols error?

    - by acidzombie24
I am using a few page validation tools one problem i have is they tell me textarea must have rows and cols attribute. If i am setting this in CSS or using display:none (and using it to hold raw text data) can i do something to skip? it seems like the only answer is rows="0" cols="0" each time i use it. But i have a feeling that is not a good solution.

  • How to correctly populate records from SQLlite in ListActivity?

    - by Pavel
Hi. Can someone please tell me how can I easily display every record from sqllite in ListActivity tab? I'm kinda confused with this. Do I have to create db from my helper class in TabActivity or ListActivity or both? My db helper class is as follow: package tabs.app; import android.content.ContentValues; import android.content.Context; import android.database.Cursor; import android.database.SQLException; import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase; import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteOpenHelper; import android.util.Log; public class DBAdapter { private static String DB_PATH = "/data/data/tabs.app/databases/"; public static final String KEY_ROWID = "_id"; public static final String KEY_LATITUDE = "latitude"; public static final String KEY_LONGITUDE = "longitude"; private static final String TAG = "DBAdapter"; private static final String DATABASE_NAME = "coords"; private static final String DATABASE_TABLE = "coordsStorages"; private static final int DATABASE_VERSION = 2; /* private static final String DATABASE_CREATE = "create table coordsStorage (_id integer primary key autoincrement, latitude integer not null, longitude integer not null)"; */ public Context context; private DatabaseHelper DBHelper; private SQLiteDatabase db; public DBAdapter(Context ctx) { this.context = ctx; DBHelper = new DatabaseHelper(context); } private static class DatabaseHelper extends SQLiteOpenHelper { DatabaseHelper(Context context) { super(context, DATABASE_NAME, null, DATABASE_VERSION); } @Override public void onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) { db.execSQL("create table coordsStorages (_id integer primary key autoincrement, latitude integer not null, longitude integer not null)"); } @Override public void onUpgrade(SQLiteDatabase db, int oldVersion, int newVersion) { Log.w(TAG, "Upgrading database from version " + oldVersion + " to " + newVersion + ", which will destroy all old data"); db.execSQL("DROP TABLE IF EXISTS titles"); onCreate(db); } } //---opens the database--- public DBAdapter open() throws SQLException { db = DBHelper.getWritableDatabase(); return this; } //---closes the database--- public void close() { DBHelper.close(); } //---insert a title into the database--- public long insertCoords(int latitude, int longitude) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_LATITUDE, latitude); initialValues.put(KEY_LONGITUDE, longitude); return db.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); } public void openDataBase() throws SQLException{ //Open the database String myPath = DB_PATH + DATABASE_NAME; db = SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(myPath, null, SQLiteDatabase.OPEN_READONLY); } //---deletes a particular title--- public boolean deleteTitle(long rowId) { return db.delete(DATABASE_TABLE, KEY_ROWID + "=" + rowId, null) > 0; } //---retrieves all the titles--- public Cursor getAllTitles() { return db.query(DATABASE_TABLE, new String[] { KEY_ROWID, KEY_LATITUDE, KEY_LONGITUDE}, null, null, null, null, null); } //---retrieves a particular title--- public Cursor getTitle(long rowId) throws SQLException { Cursor mCursor = db.query(true, DATABASE_TABLE, new db.update(DATABASE_TABLE, args, KEY_ROWID + "=" + rowId, null) > 0; }*/ } And Im trying to retrieve the records in TabActivity like this: public class Areas extends ListActivity { DBAdapter db; SimpleCursorAdapter mAdapter; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.areas_layout); db = new DBAdapter(this); db.open(); Cursor c = db.getAllTitles(); startManagingCursor(c); String[] display = new String[] { db.KEY_LATITUDE }; int[] to = new int[] { R.id.row_latitude}; /* String[] display2 = new String[] { db.KEY_LONGITUDE }; int[] to2 = new int[] { R.id.row_longitude};*/ mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.areas_layout, c, display, to); setListAdapter(mAdapter); /* mAdapter2 = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.areas_layout, c, display2, to2); setListAdapter(mAdapter2);*/ db.close(); } /* private void fillData() { // Get all of the rows from the database and create the item list Cursor c = db.getAllTitles(); startManagingCursor(c); }*/ } Whenever I'm trying to do that the error log outputs this: 06-07 09:51:56.529: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(2034): Uncaught handler: thread • SWT: cleaning up before application exit

    - by Alexey Romanov
What is the best way for an SWT application to clean up resources before application exit? I see two options: 1) Add a DisposeListener to main window (or better, to the Display). Will it get run if an uncaught exception happens? 2) Use a shutdown hook. Any problems to be aware of there which aren't mentioned in Design of the Shutdown Hooks API?

  • How can I build an app with multiple types of controllers?

    - by Sheehan Alam
How can I accomplish the following: When my app loads a UIView will show 4 buttons Clicking on a button will load a UITabBarController (not a UIView with a UITabBar) that can display multiple views. This seems challenging to me, because in order for me to use the UITabBarController I need to add this to the window's subview in my appDelegate. By doing so, my app automatically will load with the UITabbarController in the root view.

  • How to specify the image scaling algorithm used by a WPF Image?

    - by mackenir
Is there a way to specify how an image is scaled up in an Image element with LayoutTransform set to a ScaleTransform with integer values for ScaleX and ScaleY? I want to display the scaled image crisply (ie using 'nearest neighbour' scaling), with no blurring. (Imagine how you would want a bitmap editing program to behave when zooming in). I noticed the protected property VisualBitmapScalingMode on Image, so created a subclass of Image that sets this property to BitmapScalingMode.NearestNeighbor. However, this had no effect.

  • HTML - Which element to output text?

    - by Oliver Weiler
I'm implementing a little chat application where I receive messages from a server, which I would like to display to a user. As I'm more of a backend guy, and lacking experience in frontend development, I don't know which element would be suited best to output the text. Two options come to my mind: Using a plain div Using a textarea (as far as I understand, this is intended to be used for input). (Would also be nice if I could somehow fade in the text using JQuery).

  • Call into a website and use php to recognize caller ID

    - by Phil
I have this idea where I want to allow someone to call a phone number from their cell phone, and then a website would display their caller ID. I want to do this in php, but I'm really not sure how. I'm pretty good with PHP and I'm assuming you need some kind of GSM modem attached to the web server to accept the incoming phone calls, but that's really as far as I can get. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks!
