• Parameter for BPEL process

  Hi I use OpenESB + BPEL. I would like to use some parameter to set system specific settings (path, string constants, etc.). I tried to use a properties file that a simple java class should read up and use with this method (http://wiki.open-esb.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=BPELSEHowToCallJavaMethods). The problem is that I can't create properties file in BPEL project (not supported). So I created a file by hand. But this file is not included in the deployed app. Is there any working solution for including property file or is there any other method to set parameters on BPEL process? Thanks, Hubidubi

• My presentation layer does not match my model layer even though I have no animations

  On iPhone I have a CALayer that I animate via Core Animation. Then at some point I change view controllers. I then return to the view controller with the CALayer and in viewWillAppear: I set the frame and position properties on my layer to move it back to its starting point. Setting these properties changes the model layer but the presentation layer still has the old values and its presentation layer does not update until the next animation I play. In the CA Programming guide it says "You can query an instance of CALayer for its corresponding presentation layer while an animation transaction is in process." Which, to me, implies that the presentation layer should only be different from the model layer during an animation. But there are no animations currently running. I even used kCATransactionDisableActions to ensure that when I set the position property an implicit animation is not started. Does anyone know why my presentation and model layers are out of sync?   I know this isn't a direct programming question, but's it's kinda relevant as I'm trying to get a good testing environment set up before I embark on my latest project. I'm trying to set up Opera Mobile for Windows to allow me to test a new website. The UserAgent I get is a fairly generic one, so my workaround is to tweak my mobile.browser file to have the correct screen width and height of the target device. Is it possible to add to the list of "fake" user agents that Opera Mobile for Windows can pretend to be? It currently supports S60, Android and Windows Mobile.

• Bypass system sound setting objective c

  Hi. I have an app that Is supposed to play a AudioServicesPlayAlertSound(); but I've noticed on the iPod touch 1G, the sound will only play if the system sound setting is set to speaker or both. Is there a way to bypass this setting, because I know it works when the setting is not set to headphones. Also, if it is not possible, is there a way to alert the user to change this setting? I have a iPod touch 1G to test with, just incase. Wondering, HiGuy (CouleeApps)

• Setting JMX attribute on VM as command line paramater

  I've done some searching, but can't seem to find a way to do this. We'd like to proactively monitor our permgen space via JMX. It seems the best way to do this is through the UsageThreshold attribute on the "PS Perm Gen" MemoryPool. By default, this is set to 0. Is there a way to specify this, or any JMX attribute, as a -D parameter to VM so this can be set automatically at startup? Or is there another mechanism to load JMX attributes automatically? Thanks.

• PATH and CLASSPATH in Windows7 7 / Eclipse

  So I would like to set PATH and CLASSPATH system variables so I can use javac and java commands in the command line. I can just compile and run java programs in eclipse but I would also like to be able to run them through command line. This is where I have Java installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java jdk1.6.0_20 jre6 And this is where eclipse stores my Java projects: D:\java-projects HelloWorld bin HelloWorld.class src HelloWorld.java I have set up the PATH and CLASSPATH variables like this: PATH: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin CLASSPATH: D:\java-projects But it doesn't work. When I write: java HelloWorld Or: java HelloWorld.class I get error like this: Exception in thread “main” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld The error is longer, that's just the first line. How can I fix this? I'm mainly interested to be able to run compiled .class programs from the command line, I can do compiling in the eclipse.

• Why does my NSWindow only receive mouseOver events the first time?

  I have an application where a borderless window is shown and hidden, using orderOut and orderFront. When it is visible, I want the it to become the key window when the mouse moves over it. So far I've done this: In awakeFromNib I have set its first responder to itself. In the window's constructor I set accepts mouse events to YES. In the mouseMoved method, I use makeKeyAndOrderToFront. My problem is, that this only works the first time I move the mouse over the window. After that, it doesn't receive any mouseOver events. I've tried checking the firstResponder but as far as I can tell it never changes from the window. Any ideas what I can do to get this working?

  I have an UIWebView with an <input type="text"/> html element in it. I want to focus the input element in the html and show the keyboard on the iPhone programmatically, without tapping the screen. I've tried the following: set the focus from JavaScript (in this case the onFocus JS event will fire but the keyboard won't show up) [webView becomeFirstresponder] (returns NO) set the first subview of the webView to be the firstResponder (returns NO) subclass UIWebView to return YES to canBecomeFirstResponder: (nothing happens) I'm trying to find the solution since yesterday but I couldn't find it. Please help.

• Android ScrollView jumps around when setting child visibility to View.GONE

  I have a ScrollView that contains an number of other views (TextViews, ImageViews, etc.). The ScrollView is taller than the screen. I have an AsyncTask that updates the children of the ScrollView based on an http response. I've discovered an interesting behavior that I can't figure out how to work around. If I set any of the children's visibilities to View.INVISIBLE as part of the AsyncTask.onPostExecute(), everything works fine. However, if I set any of the children's visibilities to View.GONE, the ScrollView jumps down from the top when onPostExecute() is called. Exactly how far seems to vary. I'm guessing that re-laying out the ScrollView is causing it to scroll away from the top for some reason. So the question is: is there a way to either prevent or work around this behavior? PS. Using ScrollView.jump(FOCUS_UP) as a workaround isn't ideal since that'll force the user to the top even if they had intended to scroll down.

  I'm running a curl request on an eXist database through php. The dataset is very large, and as a result, the database consistently takes a long amount of time to return an XML response. To fix that, we set up a curl request, with what is supposed to be a long timeout. $ch = curl_init(); $headers["Content-Length"] = strlen($postString); $headers["User-Agent"] = "Curl/1.0"; curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $requestUrl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, 'admin:'); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_TIMEOUT,1000); $response = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); However, the curl request consistently ends before the request is completed (<1000 when requested via a browser). Does anyone know if this is the proper way to set timeouts in curl?

• "SELECT TOP", "LEFT OUTER JOIN", "ORDER BY" gives extra rows

  I have the following Access query I'm running through OLE DB in .NET: SELECT TOP 25 tblClient.ClientCode, tblRegion.Region FROM (tblClient LEFT OUTER JOIN tblRegion ON tblClient.RegionCode = tblRegion.RegionCode) ORDER BY tblRegion.Region There are 431 records within tblClient that have RegionCode set to NULL. For some reason, the query above returns all these 431 records instead of the first 25. If I change the query to ORDER BY tblClient.Client (the name of the client) like so: SELECT TOP 25 tblClient.ClientCode, tblRegion.Region FROM (tblClient LEFT OUTER JOIN tblRegion ON tblClient.RegionCode = tblRegion.RegionCode) ORDER BY tblClient.Client I get the expected result set of 25 records, showing a mixture of region names and NULL values. Why is it that ordering by a field retrieved through a LEFT OUTER JOIN will the TOP clause not work?

• Templated Control databinding to custom properties

  Is there some trick that I'm missing here? I've created a templated control, very simple. One single property on it, and I'd like to databind from the (viewmodel/datacontext of the) page in which it's hosted to a custom property on the control. The property will eventually be a vector type object, defining the position of the control, however in an attempt to get this to work I've tried reducing it to a basic string property. Each time I'm faced with "Set property 'SimpleGame.Classes.Sprite.Property' threw an exception.". I can't even catch the exception in a debug session, the set property code is not being executed. Do I need to use a dependency / attached property or something? I wouldn't have thought so...

• Use a subclass object to modify a protected propety within its superclass object

  Sorry for the crappy title I failed to think of a better version for my Java question. I am right now using Java version: 1.6.0_18 and Netbeans version: 6.8 Now for the question. What I've done is created a class with only one protected int property and next I made a public method to Set the int property to a given value. Then I made an object of that class and used said public method to set the int property to 5. Now I need your help to create another class that will take said object and expose it's protected int property. The way I could think of doing this was to create a sub class to inherit said class and then create a method to Get the int property of the super class. I kind of succeeded to create the code to Get the int property but now I can't figure out how to use this new sub class to reference the object of the super class. Here are the 2 classes I have thus far: public class A { protected int iNumber; public void setNumber ( int aNumber ) { iNumber = aNumber; } } public class B extends A { public int getNumber() { return super.iNumber; } } I created an object of 'A' and used its method to set its property to 5, like this: A objA = new A(); objA.setNumber ( 5 ); Now I want to create an object of 'B' to output the int stored within the property of 'objA'. I've tried to run this code: B objB = (B) objA; String aNumber_String = String.valueOf( objB.getNumber() ); System.out.println( aNumber_String ); but I got the error: "java.lang.ClassCastException" on the first line B objB = (B) objA; Please is there anyway of doing what I am trying to do? P.S. I am hoping to make this idea work because I do not want to edit class A (unless I have no choice) by giving it a getter method. P.P.S Also I know it's a 'bad' idea to expose the property instead of making it private and use public setter / getter methods but I like it this way :). Edit: Added code tags

In a web based application, I need to: a) present a map b) place a set of points (map-pins) on the map c) allow the user at his browser to draw a simple closed curve on the map with his mouse d) send the path of that curve back to the server e) on the server, select from the set of points those that are within the closed curve. What are the best API's to use for this problem?   I'm trying to get vim to display my tabs as ? so they cannot be mistaken for actual characters. I'd hoped the following would work: if has("multi_byte") set lcs=tab:? else set lcs=tab:>- endif However, this gives me E474: Invalid argument: lcs=tab:? The file is UTF-8 encoded and includes a BOM. Googling "vim encoding" or similar gives me many results about the encoding of edited files, but nothing about the encoding of executed scripts. How to get this character into my .vimrc so that it is properly displayed?

• vim command to restructure/force text to 80 columns

  I know there are ways to automatically set the width of text in vim using set textwidth (like http://stackoverflow.com/questions/235439/vim-80-column-layout-concerns). What I am looking for is something similar to = (the indent line command) but to wrap to 80. The use case is sometimes you edit text with textwidth and after joining lines or deleting/adding text it comes out poorly wrapped. Ideally, this command would completely reorganize the lines I select and chop off long lines while adding to short ones. An example: long line is long! short After running the command (assuming the wrap was 13 cols): long line is long! short If this isn't possible with a true vim command, perhaps there is a command-line program which does this that I can pipe the input to?

  Hello everybody I am in a crucial project and I am trying to speed up the development phase by using codesmith for generating the business class DAL and info class for the tables of my project. There are about 50 tables with relationships parent child many to many and for retrieving data I have to code several inner joins in stored procedures. I have to combine fields from many tables and this makes working with the info class difficult. Is there anyway to generate info class from stored procedures or to be more exact is there a way to parse the result set of the stored procedure and to generate the info class with properties for every column in that result set.   So I'm trying to parse an incoming request in PHP which has the following header set: Authorization: Custom Username Simple question: how on earth do I get my hands on it? If it was Authorization: Basic, I could get the username from $_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_USER"]. If it was X-Custom-Authorization: Username, I could get the username from $_SERVER["HTTP_X_CUSTOM_AUTHORIZATION"]. But neither of these are set by a custom Authorization, var_dump($_SERVER) reveals no mention of the header (in particular, AUTH_TYPE is missing), and PHP5 functions like get_headers() only work on responses to outgoing requests. I'm running PHP 5 on Apache with an out-of-the box Ubuntu install.

• Why can't I attach the debugger?

  I'm using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and trying to debug a website created in ASP Classic. I have read numerous tutorials, however nothing seems to be working (PEBKAC?). I have enabled server-side debugging in IIS and am attaching the debugger to dllhost.exe. When I open my page in Google Chrome, set breakpoints and set VS to debug, nothing happens. I don't get any errors so I'm not sure what else to post. Any ideas? Thank you. :)

I want to have a layout with a bunch of Icon or buttons that can be selected either by touch, radio, or checked box. As these images are selected they are set on queue to be displayed in order of Precedence. (that is to be pre-determined). The images are displayed once the main action button is touched.
