  • does such a c++ tool exist? [I dont know what to call it]

    - by VSC
    Hello, I am going through the process of trying to figure out how a library of code works. I would like some sort of tool that would analyze the program that I run off of the library and tells me what functions are called in what order by each thread. Does such a tool exist? What google terms would I use to find such a program? Note: Using VS2008/Win7/C++

    I built an 10.6+ only app, I tested it in 32-bit and 64-bit mode and everything works (or at least I couldn't find anything wrong). I need help with the actual release build of the app. What settings should I keep an eye out for? Thanks!

  • Cant use with clauses in find_by_sql

    - by PaulMurrayCbr
    Activerecord seems to be peeking at my sql and getting it wrong. I am finding that this: sql = " select etn.* from edittree_name etn where id = #{id}" Name.find_by_sql(sql) works, but this: sql = " with pp as ( select * from dual) select etn.* from edittree_name etn where id = #{id}" Name.find_by_sql(sql) Gives me a "undefined method `each' for 1:Fixnum". Any clues? Is there a "find_by_raw_sql (and don't try to understand it yourself)" method?

  • why doesn't focus() work in the following line of jquery?

    - by jela
    The following code is intended to check if 4 numbers are entered in the blurred field. If not, the field value is deleted, and the field is focused. The deletion works fine, but the the call to focus() does not work. $('input.dateValue').live('blur',function(event){ if (!(/(\d){4}$/.test($(this).attr('value')))) $(this).attr('value','').focus(); }); Why does the call to focus() not focus the field?

  • Searching strings C

    - by Skittles
    First time posting here so I'm sorry if I mess up. I need to search a string and return any strings containing the search data with the search data highlighted. If my string is Hi my name is and I searched name it would produce Hi my NAME is This is a quick code I wrote that works but it only works once. If I try and search again it seg faults. I was hoping someone could hint me at a better way to write this because this code is disgusting! void search(char * srcStr, int n){ int cnt = 0, pnt,i = 0; char tmpText[500]; char tmpName[500]; char *ptr, *ptr2, *ptrLast; int num; while(*(node->text+cnt) != '\0'){ //finds length of string cnt++; } for(pnt = 0; pnt < cnt; pnt++){ //copies node->text into a tmp string tmpText[pnt] = *(node->text+pnt); } tmpText[pnt+1] = '\0'; //prints up to first occurrence of srcStr ptr = strcasestr(tmpText, srcStr); for(num = 0; num < ptr-tmpText; num++){ printf("%c",tmpText[num]); } //prints first occurrence of srcStr in capitals for(num = 0; num < n; num++){ printf("%c",toupper(tmpText[ptr-tmpText+num])); } ptr2 = strcasestr((ptr+n),srcStr); for(num = (ptr-tmpText+n); num < (ptr2-tmpText); num++){ printf("%c",tmpText[num]); } while((ptr = strcasestr((ptr+n), srcStr)) != NULL){ ptr2 = strcasestr((ptr+n),srcStr); for(num = (ptr-tmpText+n); num < (ptr2-tmpText); num++){ printf("%c",tmpText[num]); } for(num = 0; num < n; num++){ printf("%c",toupper(tmpText[ptr-tmpText+num])); } ptrLast = ptr; } //prints remaining string after last occurrence for(num = (ptrLast-tmpText+n); num < cnt; num++){ printf("%c",tmpText[num]); } }

  • Dropbox links in a Phonegap app (Android)

    - by genericatz
    I try to create downloadable links to files which can be downloaded directly after clicking the link. I added "dl" instead of "www" and "?dl=1" in the end of the dropbox link (dropbox api: directly download files). The direct download works perfectly in the chrome browser but if I package the app which phonegap and click on the same link whithin the resulting app the file will not be downloaded. Is this not possible whithin the adroid browser or do I have to modify some android browser preferences?

  • How to add a UIView above the current UITableViewController

    - by user558096
    I'm have difficulty adding a subview UIView from within the viewDidLoad method of a UITableViewController This works: [self.view addSubview:self.progView]; But you can see the table cell lines bleed through the UIView progView. I've tried this approach: [self.view.superview insertSubview:self.progView aboveSubview:self.view]; Which is an attempt to add the progView UIView to the superview, above the current view. When I try this I get this the UIView never appears.

  • Rails: attribute_changed?

    - by Sam
    I have a model that has an amount and I'm tracking to see if this amount is changed with a Model.amount_changed? with a before_save which works fine but when I check to see amount_was and amount_change? it only returns the updated amount not the previous amount. And all this is happening before it is save. It knows when the attribute is changed but it will not return the old value. Ideas?

  • PowerPoint Paste HTML Loss of Color [closed]

    - by Tim
    I am trying to paste HTML into powerpoint 2007. Everything works ok except that I lose the color of the text and the font. I am using the paste special method selecting html. Now I have read that some people have fixed the color loss problem by setting a color printer as their default. But that does not seem to be working for me nor would it fix the font. Thank you for any help.

  • cURL working on localhost but not on live website

    - by randyttp
    I have a small piece of script to grab images from a different website, works perfectly in localhost but does not work on on the live website. According to the phpinfo() on the site CURL is enabled. I can't post the script as its sensitive - But off the top of your head what things should I check for to solve this issue? Why would CURL work on localhost and other hosts, but not with others that also have CURL supposedly enabled?

I want to show "?", which is U+21B5 DOWNWARDS ARROW WITH CORNER LEFTWARDS. – I want to draw this to applet's screen so that it works in WIN, LINUX, MACOSX, etc. Is there a font available that makes this possible or should I draw it manually somehow? g2d.setFont("SymbolFont??which one"); g2d.drawString(myenterSymbolHere,x,Y);

  • Dynamic HTML body width (over 100%)

    - by danixd
    I am creating a horizontal webpage and I am trying to make the body dynamically expand according to the content within it. I am building the website here: http://www.obliquo.co.uk/ As you can see it all works, but I am forced to setting a huge body width in pixel value. The content on the page will be changing all the time. If I don't set a width in pixels, the divs start bumping vertically, naturally.

  • iframe 100% height causing vertical scrollbar

    - by Keevon
    I'm trying to layout a design that has a fixed height header at the top of the screen, and then an iframe below taking up the remaining space. The solution I came up with is as follows: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <style type="text/css"><!-- * {margin: 0;} html, body {height: 100%;width: 100%;margin: 0;padding: 0;}--></style> </head> <body> <div style="height:70px;background-color:blue;"></div> <div style="position:absolute;top:70px;bottom:0;left:0;right:0;"> <iframe src="http://www.google.com" frameborder="0" style="border:0;padding:0;margin:0;width:100%;height:100%;"></iframe> </div> </body> </html> Essentially, I'm creating an absolutely positioned div below the header and sizing it to take up the rest of the space, then putting the full size iframe in there. The problem I'm running into is that if you paste the code exactly as seen below, using XHTML Strict, in each browser (tested w/ chrome/safari/ie8) you will see a vertical scroll bar with a few pixels of white space below the div. Doing some experimenting, I found that if I remove the doctype completely it works in safari/chrome, but IE gets even worse, setting the iframe height to 300px or so. If I set the doctype to transitional, it works in safari/chrome but has the same problem as in the strict case for IE8. If I use the HTML5 doctype, it has the same problem as strict in all browsers. Finally, if I remove the iframe in any of these cases, everything is laid out just fine. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Html width 100%

    - by vtortola
    Hi, This is driving me nuts. What happens with "width:100%" ? Apparently it just works in IExplore, so I think it's one of those things Microsoft made up. But then... how do you tell to a element that has to take all available parent's space in a way that all browsers can understand? Cheers?

  • Certificate Trusts Lists in IIS7

    - by BrettRobi
    I am trying to enable mutual authentication for my WebService hosted in IIS7. I have the server side cert setup and working but cannot figure out how to get a Certificate Trust List created and setup in IIS7 so that I can require and validate client side certificates. All of my client side certs are signed by my own root cert so I need to create a CTL that contains just my root cert and then have IIS validate client provided certs against the CTL. Can anyone shed some light on how to do this? IIS6 had a UI for assigning a CTL, but I can find nothing similar in IIS7. Update: I have now successfully used MakeCTL in wizard mode to create a CTL with a Friendly Name. However I don't have adsutil support on my IIS7 box so via other posts elsewhere I am trying to use the 'netsh http add sslcert' command to assign the CTL to my site. Before I could use this command I had to remove the existing SSL cert that was assigned to my site for server authentication. Then in my netsh command I specify the thumbprint of that very same SSL cert I removed, plus a made up appid, plus 'sslctlidentifier=MyCTL sslctlstorename=CA'. The resulting command is: netsh http add sslcert ipport=10.10.10.10:443 certhash=adfdffa988bb50736b8e58a54c1eac26ed005050 appid={ffc3e181-e14b-4a21-b022-59fc669b09ff} sslctlidentifier=MyCTL sslctlstorename=CA (the IP addr is munged), but I am getting this error: SSL Certificate add failed, Error: 1312 A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. I am sure the error is related to the CTL options because if I remove them it works (though no CTL is assigned of course). Can anyone help me take this last step and make this work? UPDATE 01-07-2010: I never resolved this with IIS 7.0 and have since migrated our app to IIS 7.5 and am giving this another try. Per the response from Taras Chuhay I installed IIS6 Compatibility on my test server and tried the steps he documented using adsutil.vbs (which can also be found here). I immediately ran into this error: ErrNumber: -2147023584 Error trying to SET the Property: SslCtlIdentifier when running this command: adsutil.vbs set w3svc/1/SslCtlIdentifier MyFriendlyName I then went on to try the next adsutil.vbs command documented and it failed with the same error. I have verified that the CTL I created has a Friendly Name of MyFriendlyName and that it exists in the 'Intermediate Certification Authorities\Certificate Trust List' store of LocalComputer. So once again I am at a dead standstill. I don't know what else to try. Has anyone ever gotten CTL's to work with IIS7 or 7.5? Ever? Am I beating a DEAD horse. Google turns up nothing but my own posts and other similar stories. Update 2/23/10 - I've confirmed with Microsoft that this is a bug with IIS 7.5, but it does work with IIS 7. Check out this link for details: http://viisual.net/configuration/IIS7-CTLs.htm Update 6/08/10 - I can now confirm that KB981506 resolves this issue. There is a patch associated with this KB that must be applied to Server 2008 R2 machines to enable this functionality. Once that is installed all works flawlessly for me.

  • FFmpeg extract clip - stream frame rate differs from container frame rate (x264, aac)

    - by fideli
    Summary H.264 video seems to have a really high frame rate that requires a scaling factor to the applied to the duration of video that I'm trying to extract (900x lower). Body I'm trying to extract a clip from a movie that I have in MP4 format (created using Handbrake). After trying mencoder and VLC, I decided to give FFmpeg a shot since it was the least troublesome when it came to copying the codecs. That is, compared to mencoder and VLC, the resulting file was still playable in QuickTime (I know about Perian, etc, I'm just trying to learn how all this works). Anyway, my command was as follows: ffmpeg -ss 01:15:51 -t 00:05:59 -i outofsight.mp4 \ -acodec copy -vcodec copy clip.mp4 During the copy, The following comes up: Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 45000.00 (45000/1) -> 25.00 (25/1) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from outofsight.mp4': Duration: 01:57:42.10, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 830 kb/s Stream #0.0(und): Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x384, 25 tbr, 22500 tbn, 45k tbc Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16 Output #0, mp4, to 'out.mp4': Stream #0.0(und): Video: libx264, yuv420p, 720x384, q=2-31, 90k tbn, 22500 tbc Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: libfaac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16 Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 Stream #0.1 -> #0.1 Press [q] to stop encoding frame= 2591 fps=2349 q=-1.0 size= 8144kB time=101.60 bitrate= 656.7kbits/s … Instead of a 5:59 duration clip, I get the entire rest of the movie. So, to test this, I ran the ffmpeg command with -t 00:00:01. What I got was exactly a 15:00 minute clip. So I did some black box engineering and decided to scale my -t option by calculating what value to enter given that 1 second was interpreted as 900 s. For my desired 359 s clip, I calculated 0.399 s and so my ffmpeg command became: ffmpeg -ss 01:15.51 -t 00:00:00.399 -i outofsight.mp4 \ -acodec copy -vcodec copy clip.mp4 This works, but I have no idea why the duration is scaled by 900. Investigating further, each ffmpeg run has the line: Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 45000.00 (45000/1) -> 25.00 (25/1) 45000/25 = 1800. Must be a relation somewhere. Somehow, the obscenely high frame rate is causing issues with the timing. How is that frame rate so high? The best part about this is that the resulting clip.mp4 has the exact same feature (due to the copied video codec), and taking further clips from this needs the same scaling for the -t duration option. Therefore, I've made it available for anyone willing to check this out. • nginx proxying websockets, must be missing something

    - by CodeMonkey
    I have a basic chat app written in node.js using express and socket.io; it works fine when connecting directly to node on port 3000 But doesn't work when I try to use nginx v1.4.2 as a proxy. I start off using the connection map map $http_upgrade $connection_upgrade { default upgrade; '' close; } Then add the locations location /socket.io/ { proxy_pass http://node; proxy_redirect off; proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Request-Id $txid; proxy_set_header X-Session-Id $uid_set+$uid_got; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header Connection $connection_upgrade; proxy_buffering off; proxy_read_timeout 86400; keepalive_timeout 90; proxy_cache off; access_log /var/log/nginx/webservice.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/webservice.error.log; } location /web-service/ { proxy_pass http://node; proxy_redirect off; proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Request-Id $txid; proxy_set_header X-Session-Id $uid_set+$uid_got; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header Connection $connection_upgrade; proxy_buffering off; proxy_read_timeout 86400; keepalive_timeout 90; access_log /var/log/nginx/webservice.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/webservice.error.log; rewrite /web-service/(.*) /$1 break; proxy_cache off; } These are built up using all of the tips to get it working that I could find. The error log does not show any errors. (except when I stop node to test the error logging is working) When through nginx I do see a websocket connection in the dev tools, with the status of 101; but the frames tab under the resuects is empty.   • Weird networking problem ( Linksys, Windows 7 )

    - by Rohit Nair
    Okay it's a bit tough to figure out where to start from, but here is the basic summary of the issue: During general internet usage, there are times when any attempt to visit a website stalls at "Waiting for somedomain.com". This problem occurs in Firefox, IE and Chrome. No website will load, INCLUDING the router configuration page at 192.168.1.1. Curiously, ping works fine, and other network apps such as MSN Messenger continue to work and I can send and receive messages. Disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network seems to fix the problem for a bit, but there are times when it relapses into not loading after every 2-3 http requests. Restarting the router seems to fix the issue, but it can crop up hours or days later. I have a CCNA cert and I know my way around the Windows family of operating systems, so I'm going to list all the things I've tried here. Other computers on the network seem to suffer the same problem, which makes me think it might be a specific problem with something in Win7. The random nature of this issue makes it a bit difficult to confirm, but I can definitely say that I have experienced this on the following systems: Windows 7 64-bit on my desktop Windows Vista 32-bit on my desktop ( the desktop has 2 wireless NICs and the problem existed on both ) Windows Vista 32-bit on my laptop ( both with wireless and wired ) Windows XP SP3 on another laptop ( both wireless and wired ) Using Wireshark to sniff packets seemed to indicate that although HTTP requests were being SENT out, no packets were coming in to respond to the HTTP request. However, other network apps continued to work i.e I would still receive IMs on Windows Live Messenger. Disabling IPV6 had no effect. Updating router firmware to the latest stock firmware by Linksys had no effect. Switching to dd-wrt firmware had no effect. By "no effect" I mean that although the restart required by firmware updates fixed the problem at the time, it still came back. A couple of weeks back, after a LOT of googling and flipping of various options, I figured it might be a case of router slowdown ( http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Router%5FSlowdown ) caused by the fact that I occasionally run a torrent client. I tried changing the configuration as suggested in that router slowdown link, and restarted the router. However I have not run the torrent client for 12 days now, and yet I still randomly experience this problem. Currently the computer I am using is running Windows 7 64-bit. I would just like to reiterate some of the reasons that I was confused by the issue. Even the router config page at 192.168.1.1 would not load, indicating that it's not a problem with the WAN link, but probably a router issue or a local computer issue. For some reason, disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network immediately seems to fix the problem. Updating the router firmware, even switching to open source firmware did nothing. So it seemed to be a computer issue. On the other hand, I have not seen any mass outrage of people having networking problems with Windows 7 and Linksys routers, especially a problem of this sort, and I have tweaked every network setting I could think of. Although HTTP seems to have trouble, ping works fine, DNS lookups work fine, other networking apps work fine. However if I disconnect from Windows Live Messenger and try to reconnect, it fails to reconnect. So although it could receive data over the existing TCP/IP connection, trying to start a new one failed? Does anyone have any further ideas on debugging or fixing this issue? I am reasonably certain there are no viruses or other malicious apps on my network, and I am also reasonably certain that nobody is accessing my router without my consent. Router: Linksys WRT54G2 1.0 running dd-wrt firmware Wireless Card: Alfa AWUS036H OS: Windows 7 64-bit EDIT: I tried switching to a clean wireless channel free from interference, but the problem still persisted. I tried connecting directly with a cable, but the problem still persisted. Signed A very confused and bewildered geek whose knowledge seems to be useless in the face of this frustrating network issue.

  • /etc/rc.local not being run on Ubuntu Desktop Install

    - by loosecannon
    I have been trying to get sphinx to run at boot, so I added some lines to /etc/rc.local but nothing happens when I start up. If i run it manually it works however. /etc/init.d/rc.local start works fine as does /etc/rc.local It's listed in the default runlevel and is all executable but it does not work. I am considering writing a separate init.d script to do the same thing but that's a lot of work for a simple task dumbledore:/etc/init.d# ls -l rc* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8863 2009-09-07 13:58 rc -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 801 2009-09-07 13:58 rc.local -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 117 2009-09-07 13:58 rcS dumbledore:/etc/init.d# ls /etc/rc.local -l -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 491 2011-05-14 16:13 /etc/rc.local dumbledore:/etc/init.d# runlevel N 2 dumbledore:/etc/init.d# ls /etc/rc2.d/ -l total 4 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-04-22 18:53 K08vmware -> /etc/init.d/vmware -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 677 2011-03-28 15:10 README lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-04-22 18:53 S19vmware -> /etc/init.d/vmware lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-05-15 14:09 S20ddclient -> ../init.d/ddclient lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2011-03-10 18:00 S20fancontrol -> ../init.d/fancontrol lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2011-03-10 18:00 S20kerneloops -> ../init.d/kerneloops lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 2011-03-10 18:00 S20speech-dispatcher -> ../init.d/speech-dispatcher lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 2011-03-10 18:00 S25bluetooth -> ../init.d/bluetooth lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2011-03-10 18:00 S50pulseaudio -> ../init.d/pulseaudio lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2011-03-10 18:00 S50rsync -> ../init.d/rsync lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2011-03-10 18:00 S50saned -> ../init.d/saned lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 2011-03-10 18:00 S70dns-clean -> ../init.d/dns-clean lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-03-10 18:00 S70pppd-dns -> ../init.d/pppd-dns lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2011-05-07 11:22 S75sudo -> ../init.d/sudo lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-03-10 18:00 S90binfmt-support -> ../init.d/binfmt-support lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2011-05-12 21:18 S91apache2 -> ../init.d/apache2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 2011-03-10 18:00 S99acpi-support -> ../init.d/acpi-support lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 2011-03-10 18:00 S99grub-common -> ../init.d/grub-common lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-03-10 18:00 S99ondemand -> ../init.d/ondemand lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2011-03-10 18:00 S99rc.local -> ../init.d/rc.local dumbledore:/etc/init.d# cat /etc/rc.local #!/bin/sh -e # # rc.local # # This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel. # Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other # value on error. # # In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution # bits. # # By default this script does nothing. # Start sphinx daemon for rails app on startup # Added 2011-05-13 # Cannon Matthews cd /var/www/extemp /usr/bin/rake ts:config /usr/bin/rake ts:start touch ./tmp/ohyeah cd - exit 0 dumbledore:/etc/init.d# cat /etc/init.d/rc.local #! /bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: rc.local # Required-Start: $remote_fs $syslog $all # Required-Stop: # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: # Short-Description: Run /etc/rc.local if it exist ### END INIT INFO PATH=/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin . /lib/init/vars.sh . /lib/lsb/init-functions do_start() { if [ -x /etc/rc.local ]; then [ "$VERBOSE" != no ] && log_begin_msg "Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)" /etc/rc.local ES=$?
