  A bunch of IIS sites got hacked with a javascript malware pointing to ww.robint.us/u.js. Google cache says more than 1,000,000 different pages got affected: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=http%3A%2F%2Fww.robint.us%2Fu.js http://blog.sucuri.net/2010/06/mass-infection-of-iisasp-sites-robint-us.html My question is: Did anyone here got hacked with that and still have any logs (or network dump) available for analysis? If you do, have you spotted anything interesting in there? Sites as big as wsj.com got hacked and some people are saying that maybe a zero-day on IIS/ASP.net is in the wild...

• Reverse proxy 502 bad gateway

  I have setup a subdomain to proxy my plesk panel, but when saving pages I am getting 502 Bad Gateway error instead of a completion message. I am running CentOS 6. • clam anti-virus is slowing down my server performance significantly

  Hey guys, I just installed clam av http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-clamav/ for scanning file uploads on my linux VPN running php. The problem is that for some reason just initiating the extension in the php ini file slows down my entire network. Regular requests such as changing pages that should take less than 1 second take 5. And some of the capacitors in the motherboard are already bulging. It detected the hdd yesterday when were trying to fix it and install xp. But today it cannot boot and said: Boot failure. What can you suggest that I would do to revive this old machine. What would be the problem, is it the hdd, the ide cable or the motherboard.

  basically i want to ask question about configurable addressing scheme for LAN interface hardware. i have read about it from a book, some main points are given by a configurable addressing scheme provides a mechanism that a customer can use to set a physical address.The mechanism can be manual (the switches that must be set when the interface is first installed).or an electronic memory such as an EPROM that can be downloded from the computer(what does this means). Most hardware needs to be configured only once- configuration is usually done when the hardware is first installed. Question:Suppose a network administrator configures the LAN interface hardware (assigns the address) when he installs it. Now later on if he needs to change the physical address of the device can he change it? Or in this addressing scheme the hardware can only be configured once and we can not reconfigure it later on.

• Apache stopping downloads part way through

  On my site there are some digital files which can be downloaded through a PHP script. The script works fine for small files but large files i.e. 115MB cannot be downloaded successfully. The connection dies after around 15 minutes but it's not consistent - sometimes longer sometimes shorter. I don't think it's a problem with the script timing out because the download time isn't consistent. Equally it doesn't seem like a memory limit problem because the amount downloaded varies each time. Does anyone know of any Apache or PHP related settings which could cause this kind of problem?

  I just migrated a development workstation FROM: Windows XP Pro SP3 with IIS 6 TO: Vista Enterprise 64bit with IIS 7 Since the move, one of my pages that accesses an SQL Server 2000 database is receiving the following error from my ASP.NET 2.0 web page: "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'." I have: enabled Windows Authentication in IIS and web.config disabled Anonymous Authentication in IIS set up Impersonation to run as the authenticated user verified that the logged in user (in this case, me) has access to the appropriate database on the SQL Server verified that my login and impersonation information is correct in the ASP.NET page by checking User.Identity.Name and System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name (both display my username) My connection string using SqlConnection is "Server={SERVER_NAME};Database={DB_NAME};Integrated Security=SSPI;Trusted_Connection=True;" Why is it trying to login with NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGIN? I have to assume it's some setting or web.config entry specific to IIS7 since it worked fine before the migration. NOTE: The SQL Server is Windows authentication only - no mixed mode or SQL only.

• ASP.NET High CPU Bringing Servers to their Knees

  Ok, our new build is having 100% cpu spikes on each server at random intervals. For long durations it make the site totally unresponsive - this will be at peak times as people in different countries log on to the site etc. We've looked at perfmom, memory profilers, CLR profiler, sql profilers, Red gate ants profiler, tried load testing in UAT - but cannot even reproduce the problem. This could mean only thousands of users hitting the live site causes it to happen. One pattern we did notice was that the new code - the broken build - actually uses noticably less threads. We are also using spring for IOC - does this have a bed reputation? To make things worse, we cannot deploy to live due to the business impact - so cannot narrow the problem down to subset of the new features we've added. We truly are destroyed - has anyone got any battle scars that may save us a few lives?

  I installed xampp back around January 2009, and CF8 to test coldfusion on my macbook (note: I do not think that this issue is related to CF, but only xampp). I only ever used the apache part of xampp, and this was working for over a year. In the last couple of months at the most I've started getting the following error message (even for none CF sites, and non .cfm pages, the error occurs for .html files..): Access forbidden! • In Linux, when I use the PS command, why do I see multiple lines for www-data?

  I have a LAMP server that uses ubuntu 9.10, apache2, mysql5 and php5. When I login as root through the shell, I run a "ps aux" command and see something like the following www-data 3151 0.1 4.3 220024 31032 ? Does each line represent an actual user on my website? I run into memory issues at times, so I'm trying to determine if these www-data statistics are related.

I added delimiters part and when I tried running the query from phpmyadmin, Firefox went into not responding state. After that I started Internet Explorer and tried opening my pages which use the same database, it worked fine. However, I tried opening phpmyadmin and IE went into not responding state as well. I restarted both servers. Later restarted PC. Tried again but its same behavior. So whats wrong with this tiny little code ? Am I missing something which might be causing infinite loop ? Thanks

• Internal Website links only working for some users

  We are having a very hard time trying to figure out this problem or the root cause. Our website www. countrymusicislove .com is only correctly displaying the homepage for some users. Anytime they click on a post, about me, etc, a 404 error page is displayed. Everything worked fine before we moved over to a new hosting company 2 weeks ago. I am looking for any ideas and even willing to pay someone to troubleshoot and fix this issue as no one seems to have an answer. The entire website is done in the latest version of wordpress. The old website address for the website is http://siteground243.com/~countr10/ And the domain name was registered through google for enom.com Everything is now going through Arvixe.com On my work computer, I am able to get the 404 error to appear on other pages by turning on friendly error messages. When I turn off friendly error messages, everything seems to work. I have tried this several times and it doesn't seem like a coincidence.

  I work with MS Word 2007. Today I created a new document, and for some reason cutting and pasting text (using Ctrl-X and Ctrl-V) takes longer than expected. To clarify, here's the process: I select a single word in the document I click Ctrl-X The hourglass shows up for 1-2 seconds The word is cut The same happens for pasting (i.e. 1-2 seconds of hourglass). This document is ~5 pages long, with nothing fancy. I have plenty of available RAM and my CPU usage is around 1-2%, there's not peak during the cut/paste. Any thoughts on what can cause this and what I can do against it?

• How can I restore Outlook 2007 from a PST file without having to import everything?

  I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and went the "format from scratch" route. I backed up my C:\ drive to the free space on my D:\ drive. So now I have Outlook 2007 reinstalled and I have my .pst files and so forth from the previous installation. If memory serves the answer on getting all those emails back into Outlook again is "create a new .pst file for the account and then reimport everything". What I'd like to do is be able to just put the .pst file where it's supposed to go and then have Outlook 2007 just "remember" everything. But I'm pretty sure this doesn't work. Is there a way to restore Outlook from a pst file without having to re-import everything?

• Scaling up an apache server

  I have an Ubuntu server running apache2 which i expect to be hit by around 500-1000 (concurent) users for a limited amount of time. The server serves a mixture of custom (rather light) php pages connected to a postgresql db (around 20 Mb in size) and static content. The hardware is stable and pretty beefy: Intel Xeon E5420 @ 2.5 GHz 12 GB RAM During previous rushes on this server I have increased ServerLimit, the MaxClients for the MPM modules and decreased Timeout and KeepAliveTimeout. It has worked, but been sluggish and I have a feeling more can be done. How would you suggest configuring the Apache server to handle this kind of load?

• Eclipse: would more CPU cores with HyperThreading help increase speed?

  I'm programming a very large project in Eclipse. Right now I use a dual core machine with 2GB RAM, but Eclipse is sometimes busy for minutes (refreshing/indexing/building), so I'm upgrading to a new machine (with 16GB RAM and an SSD). Now I must choose between an Intel 2500K or an Intel 2600K that has HyperThreading. The price difference is about $100. Would that be worth it, for Eclipse, or is more memory/faster drive much more important for Eclipse ? Can Eclipse make use of the HyperThreading at all?

  I've generated a shell script that uses ImageMagick to convert and crop around 18000 images. I get my device's info with this command: snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 210.38.xxx.xxx system And I got this info: SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Ruijie High-density IPv6 10G Core Routing Switch(S8606) By Ruijie Network SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4881.1.1.10.1.43 DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (1978814424) 229 days, 0:42:24.24 SNMPv2-MIB::sysContact.0 = STRING: SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: S8606 SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: SNMPv2-MIB::sysServices.0 = INTEGER: 7 Now I want to fetch the cpu status, and I search my question on Google, somebody offer a oid for query the cpu status: snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 210.38.xxx.xxx usageOfCPU But it doesn't worked : No log handling enabled - using stderr logging usageOfCPU: Unknown Object Identifier (Sub-id not found: (top) - usageOfCPU) Somebody told me some switch has its private MIB, and you can use it to see its CPU status, is that right? I hope someone can solve me question......
