• DROP TABLE fails for temp table

  I have a client application that creates a temp table, the performs a bulk insert into the temp table, then executes some SQL using the table before deleting it. Pseudo-code: open connection begin transaction CREATE TABLE #Temp ([Id] AS int) bulk insert 500 rows into #Temp UPDATE [OtherTable] SET [Status]=0 WHERE [Id] IN (SELECT [Id] FROM #Temp) AND [Group]=1 DELETE FROM #Temp WHERE [Id] IN (SELECT [Id] FROM [OtherTable] WHERE [Group]=1) INSERT INTO [OtherTable] ([Group], [Id]) SELECT 1 as [Group], [DocIden] FROM #Temp DROP TABLE #Temp COMMIT TRANSACTION CLOSE CONNECTION This is failing with an error on the DROP statement: Cannot drop the table '#Temp', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. I can't imagine how this failure could occur without something else going on first, but I don't see any other failures occurring before this. Is there anything that I'm missing that could be causing this to happen?

  All, I'm a little new to WCF over IIS but have done some ASMX web services before. My WCF service is up and running but the helper page generated by the web service for me has the default names, i.e. the page that says: You have created a service. To test this service, you will need to create a client and use it to call the service. You can do this using the svcutil.exe tool from the command line with the following syntax: svcutil.exe http://localhost:53456/ServicesHost.svc?wsdl In a standard ASMX site I would use method/class attributes to give the web service a name and a namespace. When I click on the link the WSDL has: <wsdl:definitions name="SearchServices" targetNamespace="http://tempuri.org/" i.e. not the WCF Service Contract Name and Namespace from my Interface. I assume the MEX is using some kind of default settings but I'd like to change them to be the correct names. How can I do this?

  Hi, I am really confused about these three terms. My understanding is that: in the Factory pattern, there is no concrete factory. The factory builds the new objects according to the parameters. in Abstract Factory pattern, there are multiple concrete factories. The client has to create different concrete factories explicitly. Is that right? What are the other differences? Furthermore, what is the Factory Method pattern? Is it same as the Factory pattern?

  In C#,I'm using LumiSoft.Net.IMAP.Client library to connect to the imap server and I'm viewing my emails through that class library... I used it for more than 5 months. Now, when I tried to authenticate, it shows the following exception (even though the server is connected..)   Hi I have a serious issue. I am using excel object for opening the excel file it works fine i my PC. when i make application as a website and running the page and uploading it gives the error "'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Work\SABRE MSO Mapping Request Template.xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct. If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted. ". I think it taking server path...but i want to open client excel file before saving the file to the server. Plz help.

• Hosting a WCF service in a Windows service. Works, but I can't reach it from Silverlight.

  I've made me an application hosted WCF service for my Silverlight application to consume. When I host the WCF service in a forms application everything works fine. But when I host my WCF service in a windows service (as explained brilliantly here) I get the dreaded 'NotFound' Web Exception when I call it from Silverlight. The 'WCF Test Client' tool does not complain. I'm' exposing a decent clientaccesspolicy.xml at root. Yet Silverlight won't have it. I'm stumped. Anybody have an idea about what could be going on here?

• CDOSYS and Unicode in the from field - vbScript.

  I've got the code below, and I'm trying to set the from field to allow unicode. Currently in my email client I get "??". The subject line and any content shows the unicode correctly. And looking at the MSDN the property should be "urn:schemas:httpmail:from". Anyone solved this issue?   On browser close or F5, I have to perform some code on server side For this I have a button. On click of that button which has onclientclick and onclick functions written. I also wrote an event on window.onbeforeunload which does a button.click(). window.onbeforeunload=function(e) { button.click() } My problem is that this runs the code of the client side click function of the button, however server side code does not get executed. This happens only when i close the browser. When I do F5 it works perfectly. Also this happens only on Safari. In FF and mozila it works perfectly . How can i

  Hi everyone, I have the most bizarre problem(at least it is bizarre to me) with MSSQL Server Express 2008. The problem is the following: On the development machine I use MS SQL Server 2008 Enterprise....I get some data from a WCF service and write that data to the db (simple as it can be)....I should point out however that the writing, it is done in a separate thread. BUt, anyway no problems during development...all the data is there. Then I set everything up(connection strings .\SQLEXPRESS, other settings) build in Release and copy that to a test machine that has MS SQL Server Express installed(because my application is a client application and it should work with Express)...I run the program....the program retrieves the data from the service...and when I look at the database...I'm in for a big suprise...there's only one row written(the first row received from the WCF service). I would really appreciate any help...I'm in a deadlock here. Thanks in advance. Bojan

• PHP's apache_setenv function causes 500 Internal Server Error

  apache_setenv ( 'no-gzip', 1 ) I'm trying to disable gzip for a certain page's output, but only that page. This works fine on testing servers, but not the production server, which is running the same thing (CentOS and Apache), works on Ubuntu though. Anyway, do you know why? Or is there some other alternative? I was thinking of using ob_start () to put all output in a buffer, and then unzip it myself with a PHP function then call ob_end_flush ()... or would it not be gzipped until right before Apache sends it to the client? Thanks for any help.

  I'm curious... I'm looking to have a really efficient setup for my slice for a client. I'm not an expert with servers and so am looking for good solid resources to help me set this up... It's been recommended to me that using FastCGI for PHP, Green Unicorn (gunicorn) for Django and Nginx for media is a good combination to have PHP and Django running on the same slice/server. This is needed due to have a main Django website and admin, but also to have a PHP forum on there too. Could anyone push me to some useful resources that would help me set this up on my slice? Or at least, any views or comments on this particular setup?

  Hi There. I am having trouble wrapping my head around how to make editable background images in my custom Drupal 6 theme. My client wants to have a different background image for each main section (which use multiple content types: page, blog, image gallery)... I am wondering, is there a way to make a custom content type into a dynamic background image block? I am using the Image, Image Cache, Views, CCK, Image Assist, Panels, Filefield, and Imagefield modules. What I'd like to do is add a background image field to various content types that allows a user to reference an image from the content library or upload a new image (similar to ImageAssist), and have it apply to a region in my template. Any suggestions on the best approach for this? Thank you!

• Is there any performance difference between Debug and Release?

  I'm using MySql Connector .NET to load an account and transfer it to the client. This operation is rather intensive, considering the child elements of the account to load. In Debug mode, it takes, at most, 1 second to load the account. The average would be 500ms. In Release mode, it takes from 1 to 4 seconds to load the account. The average would be 1500ms. Since there is no #if DEBUG directive or the like in my code, I'm wondering where the difference is coming from. Is there a project build option I could change? Or does it have to do with MySql Connector .NET that would have different behaviors depending on the build mode?

  I'm trying to use file_get_contentsO() to get the response from a server and this error was encountered. Could someone tell me what is the reason and how to fix it? The portion of the code is: $api = "http://smpp5.routesms.com:8080/bulksms/sendsms?username=$username&password=$password&source=$source&destination=$destin&dlr=$dlr&type=$type&message=$message"; $resp = file_get_contents($api); The server responded correctly while I pasted the url in the browser. I learned that this is caused by the server rejecting the client's HTTP version, but I have no idea why that is happening in my case. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

  I put signed dll into GAC. I delete this dll from folder where other applications could reach it. I try to run client app, which used that dll. Dll is immidiately put back to the original folder. How does it happen? I am guessing that GAC is monitoring folder and when it detects that dll is missing it puts the latest version back to the folder where other applications could reach it. If I am correct please tell me if GAC will automatically backup dll again if it will be rebuild.

I will find a more appropriate work around tomorrow but for the time being i need a way to force a post back, or refresh the page. i tried: Response.Redirect(""); but it brings me to a page that says "Object moved to here". 'here' is a hyperlink that brings me to the page with desired results but i wish to bypass this message. Any ideas. This is very urgent. Any help would be much appeciated Thanks, shawn

  When connected to a local RVD a sending application is shielded from network interruptions and the send message methods will only block for the time it takes for the message to reach the local RVD process. With remote RVD the sending application is no longer shielded from network interruptions and the send message methods will block for the time it takes to hop across the network to reach the remote RVD process. Is my understanding correct? The documentation is vague regarding remote daemons. I'm mostly concerned with how reliable and performant the send message will be from the perspective of a sending application. Introducing unnecessary blocking on the client side due to sending a message (especially a network hop) is a big no-no in this application. The speed at which the messages reach the consumer is not of the utmost importance. With this in mind is a remote RVD out of the question?

• Tinymce extended_valid_elements for BBcodes?

  I use Tinymce with BBcodes plugin so the tags used in the editor are [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color]. If you are familiar with TinyMce there is a great option to filter all unwanted tags when pasting to the editor. Unfortunately i think this is not working for BBcodes mode, what i want is to remove any <TAGS> Or Other Unwanted BBcodes such as [url] & [img] So, my white list is : [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color=XXXXXX]. I'm already filtering in the server side, but i want this to be implemented in the client side too, So by example if someone copied from a webpage a mix of images and urls and formatted text, every image will be stripped and every url will be "unclickable" directly after pasting.   Hi Guys, Can anyone help me, I have a IE javascript issue. I am really stuck and the client has just brought it to my attention. The site is http://www.fleurofengland.com/, its the check out page so if you would be kind enough to goto the site, add anything to your basket and go through to the checkout. The problem is when you get to the checkout page (https://www.fleurofengland.com/eaction/checkout.billing/), under the 'Billing and Delivery Details' heading you will see a dropdown called country. Below that is another dropdown called County/State, this dropdown is meant to be populated from the values of the 'country' one above however its not working. Please help or suggest a fix. • VS 2008 SP1 text editor flickering over remote desktop connection

  I am connecting from a Windows 7 x64 machine to my dev machine running Windows XP SP3 using the built in remote desktop client. For most apps it works fine with no problems, for Visual Studio whenever I am typing the entire text editor keeps redrawing. I stumbled across this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/873849/vs-2008-sp1-over-remote-desktop-constant-repainting and I have tried all of the suggestions in it to no effect, including resetting all VS settings back to default then disabling the suggested settings. Has anyone found a reliable solution to this? I feel like I'm going insane with the screen constantly refreshing when I'm working from home. Some additional information: Remote Desktop is set to run at 1680x1050, 15bit color, Low-speed broadband for the experience setting with all but Visual styles and Persistent bitmap caching unchecked. Visual Studio 2008 Team System is running on the dev machine with Service Pack 1 and Power Commands installed.
