  • Jquery runtime error: object expected

    - by Joris
    The Jquery script that controls my tabcontainer gives an "object expected" runtime error. I honestly can't find the reason why: $(document).ready(function() { //When page loads... $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content $("ul.tabs li:first").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab $(".tab_content:first").show(); //Show first tab content //On Click Event $("ul.tabs li").click(function() { $("ul.tabs li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class $(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); //Find the href attribute value to identify the active tab + content $(activeTab).fadeIn(); //Fade in the active ID content return false; }); }); Has it something to do with the stylesheet?

  • Styling jQuery validation

    - by Steve
    When I have this, the div, which just has text in it, uses all the horizontal width it can, so there's trailing width after the text, which I can tell from the background color. errorElement: "div", errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.insertBefore("#zzz"); When I use this, the width is the same as the text contained, but I cannot get each individual error (span) to be on a separate line via display: block. errorElement: "span", errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.insertBefore("#zzz"); error.css("display", "block"); Is there another way to force a break on a span element?

  • Objective C message dispatch mechanism

    - by Dolphin
    I am just staring to play around with Objective C (writing toy iPhone apps) and I am curious about the underlying mechanism used to dispatch messages. I have a good understanding of how virtual functions in C++ are generally implemented and what the costs are relative to a static or non-virtual method call, but I don't have any background with Obj-C to know how messages are sent. Browsing around I found this loose benchmark and it mentions IMP cached messages being faster than virtual function calls, which are in turn faster than a standard message send. I am not trying to optimize anything, just get deeper understanding of how exactly the messages get dispatched. How are Obj-C messages dispatched? How do Instance Method Pointers get cached and can you (in general) tell by reading the code if a message will get cached? Are class methods essentially the same as a C function (or static class method in C++), or is there something more to them? I know some of these questions may be 'implementation dependent' but there is only one implementation that really counts.

  • faceBook Canvas APP not closing FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog

    - by Paresh
    My FB application is using the below code to generate the FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog box. <?php if($fb->api_client->users_hasAppPermission("publish_stream",$fb_user)==0) { ?> <script> FB.ensureInit(function(){ FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog("publish_stream", function() { },false,266167740665); }); </script> <?php } ?> The php if statement is for a check if the user has granted this permission previously or not. It is working fine and if the user hasn't granted permission before then FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog is displayed, which prompts for the permission. My problem is that on "Granting" or "Skipping" the permission by the user the dialog box doesn't go away. It resides over there and refreshes itself to open the facebook home page inside the box. It has to be forcefully closed by clicking on the X button. Am I doing any thing wrong?

  • better way to pass by reference in Perl?

    - by JoelFan
    I am doing pass-by-reference like this: sub repl { local *line = \$_[0]; our $line; $line = "new value"; } sub doRepl { my $foo = "old value"; my ($replFunc) = @_; $replFunc->($foo); print $foo; # prints "new value"; } doRepl(\&repl); Is there a cleaner way of doing it? Prototypes don't work because I'm using a function reference (trust be that there's a good reason for using a function reference). I also don't want to use $_[0] everywhere in repl because it's ugly.

  • Loading dynamic content and rewrite URL on Hashchange event with Jquery Mobile

    - by user3611500
    I'm building a mobile version for my website using Jquery Mobile API. The framework provides automate AJAX navigation processing. But as far as i know it require "real" pages for loading purpose. What i want to do is override the automate navigation process of it and process the hashchange on my own. But i can't not rewrite the url using window.hashChange, which is running well on my non-mobile website version : $(function () { $(window).off().hashchange(function () { if (location.hash.length > 1) { PageSelect(); } }); $(window).hashchange(); }); I just only want to take advantage on jquery mobile interfaces, i don't want anything with its automate ajax navigation stuff ! I tried to disable it using ajaxEnabled() but got no luck.

  • jQuery closing pop-up after successful form submit

    - by RyanP13
    Hi, I have a pop up form that i wish to close on successfull submit of the form. Currently we are only validating on the server side which will create an unordered list of validation errors with the class .error_message. Once the form has been successfully submitted i want to close the window. Currently the jQuery i am using for this is as follows but does not work because the first time the form has been submitted the number of error messages will always be zero. $(document).ready(function() { $('form#emailQuote').submit(function() { var $emailErrors = $('form#emailQuote ul.error_message').length; alert($emailErrors); if ($emailErrors == 0) { //window.close(); alert('no errors'); } else { //alert('errors'); alert('errors'); } }); });

  • How to wire 20 computers and 20 phones and 1 server into LAN?

    - by John Smith
    I have currently 3 switches Two Netgear JFS524 with 24 slots, One Belkin with 16 slots. Server DSL Internet Router. Main question is how to connect switches together, two Netgear's are next to each other, yet one is about 100 feet away and holds about 5 computer and 5 phones. If i connect them with only 1 wire will that limit bandwidth? e.g. all 23 computers will be limited to speed of one CAT5e cable? If i connect switches with 2 cables will this give speed boost? What's the ideal scenario should i just move the third switch next to other two? Will the speed of computer connected to white switch be same as computer connected to top switch? Will moving white switch right next top switch and having 16 wires comming 100 feet instead of 1 wire comming 100 feet make it faster? EDIT 1: I actually have NETGEAR ProSafe GS105 Gigabit switch its only has 4 ports in it though, you think i can have use of it in current setup? Like connect all 3 switches and server into it and keep internet router and phone server on one of the slower switches EDIT 2: Everyone mention gigabit switches, but will they do any difference with 10/100 network cards? I then have to use gigabit cards in every computer too? I could in server perhaps, but users will be 10/100

  • Jquery Cycle Plugin Question - turning off relative links to photos so it goes to a URL

    - by alpdog14
    I am using Jquery Cycle Plugin and it has a side panel that highlights as the photos change and currently when I click on the text the associated photo pulls up then I have to click on the photo to go to the URL but I would like the text itself to link to the URL. I have looked at the fn.cycle.defaults but not sure what to change and I tried a few things but nothing works. If anyone can help me figure this out it would be most helpful. Here are the fn.cycle.defaults: fx: 'fade', // one of: fade, shuffle, zoom, scrollLeft, etc timeout: 4000, // milliseconds between slide transitions (0 to disable auto advance) continuous: 0, // true to start next transition immediately after current one completes speed: 1000, // speed of the transition (any valid fx speed value) speedIn: null, // speed of the 'in' transition speedOut: null, // speed of the 'out' transition next: null, // id of element to use as click trigger for next slide prev: null, // id of element to use as click trigger for previous slide prevNextClick: null, // callback fn for prev/next clicks: function(isNext, zeroBasedSlideIndex, slideElement) pager: null, // id of element to use as pager container pagerClick: null, // callback fn for pager clicks: function(zeroBasedSlideIndex, slideElement) pagerEvent: null, // event which drives the pager navigation pagerAnchorBuilder: null, // callback fn for building anchor links before: null, // transition callback (scope set to element to be shown) after: null, // transition callback (scope set to element that was shown) end: null, // callback invoked when the slideshow terminates (use with autostop or nowrap options) easing: null, // easing method for both in and out transitions easeIn: null, // easing for "in" transition easeOut: null, // easing for "out" transition shuffle: null, // coords for shuffle animation, ex: { top:15, left: 200 } animIn: null, // properties that define how the slide animates in animOut: null, // properties that define how the slide animates out cssBefore: null, // properties that define the initial state of the slide before transitioning in cssAfter: null, // properties that defined the state of the slide after transitioning out fxFn: null, // function used to control the transition height: 'auto', // container height startingSlide: 0, // zero-based index of the first slide to be displayed sync: 1, // true if in/out transitions should occur simultaneously random: 0, // true for random, false for sequence (not applicable to shuffle fx) fit: 0, // force slides to fit container pause: true, // true to enable "pause on hover" autostop: 0, // true to end slideshow after X transitions (where X == slide count) autostopCount: 0, // number of transitions (optionally used with autostop to define X) delay: 0, // additional delay (in ms) for first transition (hint: can be negative) slideExpr: null, // expression for selecting slides (if something other than all children is required) cleartype: 0, // true if clearType corrections should be applied (for IE) nowrap: 0 // true to prevent slideshow from wrapping }; I have tried changing the pageClick and pagerEvent but nothing seems to be working. • jQuery Hover Problem - Hover Triggers on Mouse Move

    - by majman
    For reference: http://www.favsav.com/-public You'll notice that if you hover over a list item, the meta data slides up. If you leave your mouse still on top, and then move a smidgen to the left or right, it triggers again. There's some other silliness going on if you move around The code is pretty simple: $('li.post').hover(function(){ $(this).find('.meta').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).find('.meta').slideUp('fast'); }) Any idea why things are behaving like this? This seems to only be happening in Firefox (i'm using 3.5.5 on OSX) UPDATE After restarting Firefox, all is well! Thanks for the input!

  • Internet Explorer loop bug when preloading images

    - by user335460
    Hi Everyone I have created a JavaScript application that requires all images to be preloaded first. Everything works fine in Firefox but in Internet Explorer my loop skips the count at 19 and goes to 21. Has anyone come across this problem before and what causes it? You can copy and paste the script below for test purposes. var preLoad = function () { var docImages = ["http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/rsa_prov.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/loading.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/loading2.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/ec_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/ec_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/ec_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/fs_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/fs_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/fs_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/gt_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/gt_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/gt_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/kzn_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/kzn_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/kzn_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/lp_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/lp_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/lp_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/mp_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/mp_roll.gif", "mp_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nc_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nc_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nc_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nw_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nw_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/nw_state.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/wc_land.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/wc_roll.gif", "http://www.sanatural.co.za/media/images/map/wc_state.gif"], imageFolder = [], loaded = [], loadedCounter = 0; this.loadImgs = function () { for (var i = 0; i < docImages.length; i++) { imageFolder[i] = new Image(); imageFolder[i].src = docImages[i]; loaded[i] = false; } intervalId = setInterval(loadedCheck, 10); // }; function loadedCheck() { if (loadedCounter == imageFolder.length) { // all images have been preloaded clearInterval(intervalId); alert('All images have been preloaded!'); return; } for (var i = 0; i < imageFolder.length; i++) { if (loaded[i] === false && imageFolder[i].complete) { loaded[i] = true; loadedCounter++; alert(i); // (work fine in FF but i.e goes from 19 to 21 ) } } } }; var preloadObject = new preLoad(); preloadObject.loadImgs();

  • How to compare old CPU to new CPU?

    - by Lasse V. Karlsen
    I hope this question doesn't get closed at once :) I have an old laptop, a Compaq NC4200, which is going its final laps around the track these days. Battery is dead, and everything kinda runs slow. It also has only 1GB of memory, and even though I don't know if it can take more, I probably wouldn't be able to get hold of any that matches without having to special order it. The size, however, has been ideal for my usage pattern, so I'm looking to replace it with a similarly sized laptop, at least in the same size category. However, it's been a while since I tried keeping track of CPUs, so I have a question. The old laptop has a Intel Pentium M 760 1.86GHz processor. One laptop I found online has a Intel Pentium SU4100 1.3GHz dual-core. This type of processor seems to be quite common in the price and size-range I've been looking. What kind of relative performance boost could I expect from the old one to the new one? I am not expecting a "about 7.45x speed", but some indication would be nice. For instance, dual-core tells me it might be akin to 2.6GHz, but I assume I can't simply compare 1.86GHz to 2.6GHz and expect the new one to run about 1.4x as fast, I expect more these days. Or is that unrealistic for this kind of processor? Do I need to up my price range and go for a 2+ GHz processor?

  • 2d graph in real-time by using opencv and c++

    - by user2758510
    I have a really basic question in opencv and c++. I am trying to graph something in real time by using opencv. I am looking to find a function to draw a graph in rel-time. But still unssuccesful. I need a function that gets two arrays as an input one for x axis and one for y. I tried with this but seems not work in real-time http://www.shervinemami.info/graphs.html I just need to know if there is something available in opencv or not. Thanks in advance.

  • T-SQL IsNumeric() and Linq-to-SQL

    - by cdonner
    I need to find the highest value from the database that satisfies a certain formatting convention. Specifically, I would like to fund the highest value that looks like EU999999 ('9' being any digit) select max(col) will return something like 'EUZ...' for instance that I want to exclude. The following query does the trick, but I can't produce this via Linq-to-SQL. There seems to be no translation for the isnumeric() function in SQL Server. select max(col) from table where col like 'EU%' and 1=isnumeric(replace(col, 'EU', '')) Writing a database function, stored procedure, or anything else of that nature is far down the list of my preferred solutions, because this table is central to my app and I cannot easily replace the table object with something else. What's the next-best solution?

  • JavaScript: 'textarea.value' not working in IE?

    - by pete
    Hi! A few hours ago, I was instructed how to style a specific textarea with JS. The following piece of code (thanks again, Mario Menger) works like a charm in Firefox but unfortunately nothing happens in Internet Explorer (7 tested only so far). var foo = document.getElementById('HCB_textarea'); var defaultText = 'Your message here'; foo.value = defaultText; foo.style.color = '#888'; foo.onfocus = function(){ foo.style.color = '#000'; if ( foo.value == defaultText ) { foo.value = ''; } }; foo.onblur = function(){ foo.style.color = '#888'; if ( foo.value == '' ) { foo.value = defaultText; } }; I've already tried to replace 'value' by 'innerHTML' (for IE only) but to no effect. Any suggestions? TIA

  • How to link a SQlite Extension Source File into Xcode for iPhone?

    - by crunchyt
    I use a statically linked library for Sqlite in an iPhone Xcode project. I am now trying to include a .C extension to Sqlite in this project. However, I am having trouble making the Sqlite in the build SEE the extension. The statically linked Sqlite library works fine. Also the .C extension works on my desktop, and builds fine as a statically linked library in Xcode. However, the custom functions it defines are missing when called. For example, I load the extension as so with no errors. SELECT load_extension('extension_name.so'); But when I try to call a function defined in the extension, I get this message DB Error: 1 "no such function: custom_function" Does anyone know much about linking a Sqlite extension into an Xcode project?

  • What do I return if the return type of a method is Void? (Not void!)

    - by DR
    Due to the use of Generics in Java I ended up in having to implement a function having Void as return type: public Void doSomething() { //... } and the compiler demands that I return something. For now I'm just returning null, but I'm wondering if that is good coding practice... I've also tried Void.class, void, Void.TYPE, new Void(), no return at all, but all that doesn't work at all. (For more or less obvious reasons) (See this answer for details) So what am I supposed to return if the return type of a function is Void? What's the general use of the Void class? EDIT: Just to spare you the downvotes: I'm asking about V?oid, not v?oid. The class Void, not the reserved keyword void.

  • LAN network (switch?)

    - by guywhoneedsahand
    I am working on setting up the network for a small LAN party (less than 16 people). Most of them do not have wireless cards in their rigs, so I need to set up some way for everyone to a) play LAN games and b) access the internet. The LAN party will probably take place in my basement, where I have enough space. However, the basement is not wired up with the router which is actually on the floor above. I make a cantenna a while back that can boost the wireless performance of my computer significantly. How can I use this to provide internet and LAN to guests? My hope was that I could use a switch like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833181166 for the LAN - but how can I give people access to the internet? Is there such thing as a network extender / 16-port switch? Obviously, the internet performance doesn't need to be super stellar, because the games will be using LAN - so I am looking to provide some usable internet for web browsing, and very high speed LAN for games. Thanks!

  • Named pipe is not flushing in Python

    - by BrainCore
    I have a named pipe created via the os.mkfifo() command. I have two different Python processes accessing this named pipe, process A is reading, and process B is writing. Process A uses the select function to determine when there is data available in the fifo/pipe. Despite the fact that process B flushes after each write call, process A's select function does not always return (it keeps blocking as if there is no new data). After looking into this issue extensively, I finally just programmed process B to add 5KB of garbage writes before and after my real call, and likewise process A is programmed to ignore those 5KB. Now everything works fine, and select is always returning appropriately. I came to this hack-ish solution by noticing that process A's select would return if process B were to be killed (after it was writing and flushing, it would sleep on a read pipe). Is there a problem with flush in Python for named pipes?

  • python RSA implemention with PKCS1

    - by user307016
    I got the following code in javascript for RSA implementionhttp://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~tjw/jsbn/: // Return the PKCS#1 RSA encryption of "text" as an even-length hex string function RSAEncrypt(text) { var m = pkcs1pad2(text,(this.n.bitLength()+7)>>3); if(m == null) return null; var c = this.doPublic(m); if(c == null) return null; var h = c.toString(16); if((h.length & 1) == 0) return h; else return "0" + h; } // PKCS#1 (type 2, random) pad input string s to n bytes, and return a bigint function pkcs1pad2(s,n) { if(n < s.length + 11) { // TODO: fix for utf-8 alert("Message too long for RSA"); return null; } var ba = new Array(); var i = s.length - 1; while(i >= 0 && n > 0) { var c = s.charCodeAt(i--); if(c < 128) { // encode using utf-8 ba[--n] = c; } else if((c > 127) && (c < 2048)) { ba[--n] = (c & 63) | 128; ba[--n] = (c >> 6) | 192; } else { ba[--n] = (c & 63) | 128; ba[--n] = ((c >> 6) & 63) | 128; ba[--n] = (c >> 12) | 224; } } ba[--n] = 0; var rng = new SecureRandom(); var x = new Array(); while(n > 2) { // random non-zero pad x[0] = 0; while(x[0] == 0) rng.nextBytes(x); ba[--n] = x[0]; } ba[--n] = 2; ba[--n] = 0; return new BigInteger(ba); } In the snippets above, it seems that the pkcs1pad2 function is used for padding the message with some random bytes(maybe sth like 0|2|random|0 ) in front of the message. I'm using the python rsa package (http://stuvel.eu/rsa) for imitating the javascript result, i'm a newbie to python world and have no idea to traslate javascript algorithm code to the python code. Any help would be appreciated. Jiee

  • Adding text over existing PDFs using reportlab

    - by Shane
    I'm interested in filling out existing PDF forms programatically. All I really need to do is pull information from user input and then place the appropriate text over an existing PDF in the appropriate locations. I can already do this with reportlab by feeding the same sheet of paper into a printer, twice, but this just really rubs me the wrong way. I'm tempted to just personally reverse engineer each existing PDF and draw every line and character myself before adding the user-inputted text, but I wanted to check to see if there was an easy way to take an existing PDF and set it as a background for some extra text. I'd really prefer to use python as it's the only language I feel comfortable with. I also realize that I could just scan the document itself and use the resulting raster image as a background, but I would prefer the precision of vector graphics. It seems like ReportLab has a commercial product with this functionality, and the specific function I'm looking for is in it (copyPages) - but it seems like overkill to pay for a 4 figure product for a single, simple function for a nonprofit use.

  • How to read the 3D chart data with directX?

    - by MemoryLeak
    I am reading a open source project, and I found there is a function which read 3D data(let's say a character) from obj file, and draw it . the source code: List<Vertex3f> verts=new List<Vertex3f>(); List<Vertex3f> norms=new List<Vertex3f>(); Groups=new List<ToothGroup>(); //ArrayList ALf=new ArrayList();//faces always part of a group List<Face> faces=new List<Face>(); MemoryStream stream=new MemoryStream(buffer); using(StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(stream)){ String line; Vertex3f vertex; string[] items; string[] subitems; Face face; ToothGroup group=null; while((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { if(line.StartsWith("#")//comment || line.StartsWith("mtllib")//material library. We build our own. || line.StartsWith("usemtl")//use material || line.StartsWith("o")) {//object. There's only one object continue; } if(line.StartsWith("v ")) {//vertex items=line.Split(new char[] { ' ' }); vertex=new Vertex3f();//float[3]; if(flipHorizontally) { vertex.X=-Convert.ToSingle(items[1],CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); } else { vertex.X=Convert.ToSingle(items[1],CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); } vertex.Y=Convert.ToSingle(items[2],CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); vertex.Z=Convert.ToSingle(items[3],CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); verts.Add(vertex); continue; } And why it need to read the data manually in directX? As far as I know, in XDA programming, we just need to call a function a load the resource. Is this because it is in DirectX, there is no function to read resource? If yes, then how to prepare the 3D resource ? in XDA we just need to use other software draw the 3D picture and then export. but what should I do in DirectX?

  • h:dataTable alternating rows in JSF2

I'm trying to make alternating rows in JSF2 h:dataTable (no richfaces or such) but i get an unexpected result. the table is built but it has a white grid shown (but i didn't specifiy any border) and there's no buttom line under each row. Here is the Error: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'Unable to load template file 'index.tpl'' in D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\lib\smarty\sysplugins\smarty_internal_templatebase.php:127 Stack trace: #0 D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\lib\smarty\sysplugins\smarty_internal_templatebase.php(374): Smarty_Internal_TemplateBase->fetch('index.tpl', NULL, NULL, NULL, true) #1 D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\lib\classes\IndexPage.class.php(14): Smarty_Internal_TemplateBase->display('index.tpl') #2 D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\lib\classes\IndexPage.class.php(10): IndexPage->showTemplate() #3 D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\index.php(3): IndexPage->__construct() #4 {main} thrown in D:\xampp\htdocs\aiondb\lib\smarty\sysplugins\smarty_internal_templatebase.php on line 127

  • jQuery selective hover

    - by Vitor
    Hello everyone, I'm trying to do a simple task with jQuery: I have a list of words which, when hovered, should fadeIn its corresponding image. For example: <a href="#" class="yellow">Yellow</a> <a href="#" class="blue">Blue</a> <a href="#" class="green">Green</a> <img src="yellow.jpg" class="yellow"> <img src="blue.jpg" class="blue"> <img src="green.jpg" class="green"> I'm currently doing it this way for each link/image: $('a.yellow').hover( function () { $('img.yellow').fadeIn('fast'); }, function () { $('img.yellow').fadeOut('fast'); }); The method above works fine, but as I'm still learning, I guess there's a better way to do that instead of repeating functions. Can anyone give me some light here? How can I improve this code?
