• Can not clone git repo to server

  I'm running the same command on 2 different servers. One works, the other doesn't. I'm running git clone https://blah.com:8443/blah.git On server A, it works fine. I get the objects, files, etc. no problems. On server B, I get the following message. git clone https://blah.com:8443/blah.git Cloning into 'blah'... error: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates while accessing https://blah.com:8443/blah.git/info/refs?service=git-upload-pack fatal: HTTP request failed Does anyone know what this means or what I need to do to get this to work? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

• confusion about transactions and msdtc

  I have some basic confusion about how transactions and msdtc work together. I have a basic server/client winforms app. The app uses transactionscope to encapsulate several sql commands that are executed on the sql server. The app seemed to work fine when I enabled msdtc network access on the server only. Then one day it stopped working saying network access was not enabled. Now it seems that I have to enable msdtc network access on both the client computer and server for transactionscope to work. Does the client or server msdtc service do the transaction work? Or maybe its both? Does anyone have guidance on whether msdtc network access is needed on both client and server or just server?

• Persistence with Vaadin

  Hi I'm trying to learn vaadin. I'm really confused how to do any kind of application development with persistence because if I have a reference to my service layer objects, they get stored in session and I really don't want that. Persistence stuff just isn't serializable. My case is that I have an already made application that uses Spring and I'm creating a new UI for it with Vaadin. I can inject the spring stuff to my Vaadin application but that gets stored in the session. Any tips? By the way how do you post in the Vaadin forums? I can't find a post button or way to register :)

  I have a need to convert any document gets uploaded to Image. I downloaded the exe (with all the dlls) on my local machine (dont have to install) export.exe sourcefile.doc destinationfile.gif this syntax works from my local dos prompt. How do I use the same syntax "export.exe exampledoc.doc exampledoc.gif" when an item is added to sharepoint doc library. and Do I need to put the folder (where the exe and dlls are for this) in the sharepoint frontend server so it's accessible? If yes, where should this folder reside? Does the folder and files need sharepoint service account access? I am totally new and I would really like if someone can shed some light on this (step by step if possible)? Thanks Justin...

• How to recover gracefully from a C# udp socket exception

  Context: I'm porting a linux perl app to C#, the server listens on a udp port and maintains multiple concurrent dialogs with remote clients via a single udp socket. During testing, I send out high volumes of packets to the udp server, randomly restarting the clients to observe the server registering the new connections. The problem is this: when I kill a udp client, there may still be data on the server destined for that client. When the server tries to send this data, it gets an icmp "no service available" message back and consequently an exception occurs on the socket. I cannot reuse this socket, when I try to associate a C# async handler with the socket, it complains about the exception, so I have to close and reopen the udp socket on the server port. Is this the only way around this problem?, surely there's some way of "fixing" the udp socket, as technically, UDP sockets shouldn't be aware of the status of a remote socket? Any help or pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The code generator will decorate it with the following attributes: [global::System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIgnoreAttribute()] [global::System.Xml.Serialization.SoapIgnoreAttribute()] public RelatedObject Relationship { get {...} set {...} } I want to serialize my parent object together with all its properties for which data has been loaded through an XML web service. Obviously, these related properties do not get serialized because of these attributes. So for my purposes I just want to remove these "don't serialize me" attributes. I can do a find and replace in the designer code, but any modifications I make in the designer will put these attributes back in. How do I permanently get rid of these attributes? VS 2008 / EF 3.5.

• Server 2008 Web Edition IIS6 SMTP conflict

  I'm using IIS6 Manager to setup the SMTP service on Windows Server 2008 Web Edition. Ignoring how mental this is, there seems to be a conflict (port 25?) which means that I cannot start and stop the Default SMTP server within IIS6. I can start and stop it with the services.msc snap in and this is reflected in state of the SMTP server in IIS6 manager. I'm worried that none of the settings I want to get at within IIS6 (logging, authentication etc..) are having any effect. None of these settings are available within IIS7 in Web Edition. Idiotic.

• Microsoft Expression Web 3 clipboard bug

  There seems to be a rather annoying bug in MS Expression Web 3 (or perhaps an incompatibility with something else I have installed). Quite often HTML code editor would refuse to copy things into clipboard. You select some text, press Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Insert or use context menu and nothing happens. Then in 10..15 seconds it would start working again... Then again it would not work. It's rather annoying. Does anyone else have such a problem or knows how to fix it? I'm running Microsoft Expression Web 3 Service Pack 1 Version 3.0.3813.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with all latest updates and patches. I have Russian keyboard layout installed. Other than that my system is pretty much plain vanilla.

Now, for testing reasons I want to inject some mocks to the bean instead of the ones being autowired (some DAOs). Is there any way I can change which bean is being injected without modifying my bean? I don't like the idea of adding annotations my code just to test it and then remove then for production. I am using spring 2.5.   I would like to add a custom attribute to a asmx web service to determine if the request is valid based on the client IP address. This is a similar idea to the AuthorizeAttribute in ASP.NET MVC. Is there anywhere (e.g. a HTTP module) I can put the code to look at the attribute on the webservice and decide whether to allow the request or not? In my web.config the handler for asmx is the ScriptHandlerFactory from the System.Web.Extensions dll. I have already implemented the functionality with a HTTP module and a config file with a list of allowed URLs, but I would prefer to get rid of the config file and just add an attribute to the webservice class.   Hi, I have a created a sample web role application using cloud service. Before hosting my application in cloud, i want to test the application in dev fabric. I am sure that when we run the application from VS, it creates an environment that simulates the cloud. But if i want to give my application for testing to QA, do i still need to give my source to them and run the application from VS under dev fabric or do we any other way in running my deployed package under dev fabric. In a line my question is, How do i run my packaged azure application under dev fabric before hosting in Cloud? Can anyone having an idea, please share me some information? Thanks, Kiran

  Hello, i need some help with c# and nhibernate. I'm working on a project that requires the entity classes to be generated from hbm files at runtime. I get the mapping files from a service, and then need to generate the classes dynamicaly and configure nhibernate to use them. The problem is that i'm new to nhibernate and not much of a pro in c#, so me writing the piece of code that achieves this is very error-prone. I was wondering if you know of any open source software that i could use. Worst case scenario (if can't find anything that even remotely resembles what i need), do you guys have some advice on where should i start? Maybe some links ? Thanks, Denis.

  I created a LinkedServer on MS SQL Server 2005 pointing to my Active Directory. Nothing too fancy. Simple LinkedServer with ReadOnlyAdmin Account assigned to CONNECTAS Property. Then I created some storedprocedures to retreive some data from the LinkedServer. Again nothing too fancy. Just a few simple LDAP Queries. Then I created a SQL Endpoint to expose these stored procedures as Web services. Using Visual Studio 2008, everything is fine and dandy. It finds the endpoint, gets the list of the methods available and runs smoothly. Cool. But the Sharpeoint Add Web Service somehow doesn't work! It finds the WSDL file no prob. Retrieves the list of functions and parameterss n all but just simply doesn't run them! Any advice or where I should start checking?

  I am trying to connect to Office Communication Server using the Unified Communications Managed API. I have tried my user and a fresh user enabled for OCS. Both account can successfully log into the Office Communicator client, but fail using the API. When creating the network credential, if I pass in the username in the form domain\username, I get this error: SupportedAuthenticationProtocols=Ntlm, Kerberos Realm=SIP Communications Service FailureReason=InvalidCredentials ErrorCode=-2146893044 Microsoft.Rtc.Signaling.AuthenticationException: The log on was denied. • How to Encrypt a soap request using a secretkeyspec?

  I have Web Service client code generated by WSDL2Java. I am trying to encrypt the Soap Envelope specifying a CallbackHandler in the wsdd. I've managed to set a username and password in plain text on the soap request, but I need to use a key instead (I have been given a .key file which seems to be a SecretKeySpec). I load the .key file, read the bytes and then in the CallbackHandler I do the following:- encryptionKey = getBytesFromFile("mykey.key"); WSPasswordCallback pc = (WSPasswordCallback) callbacks[i]; pc.setKey(encryptionKey); But nothing relating to the encryption appears in the soap request and I get an error stating that pwd must be set. I'm totally stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Adding attachments to HumanTasks *beforehand*

  For an demo I'm preparing along with a partner, we need to add some attachments to a HumanTask beforehand, that is, the attachment must be associated already to the Task by the time the user opens its Form. How to achieve this?, indeed it's quite simple and just a matter of some mappings to the Task's input execData structure. Oracle BPM supports "default" attachments (which use BPM tables) or UCM-based ones. The way to insert attachments for both methods is pretty similar. With default attachments When using default attachments, first we need to have the attachment payload as part of the BPM process, that is, must be contained in a variable. Normally the attachment content is binary, so we'll need first to convert it to a base64-string (not covered on this blog entry). What we need to do is just to map the following execData parameters as part of the input of the HumanTask: execData.attachment[n].content            <-- the base64 payload data execData.attachment[n].mimeType           <-- depends on your attachment                                               (e.g.: "application/pdf") execData.attachment[n].name               <-- attachment name (just the name you want to                                               use. In my case I get those from a Search call to UCM (not covered on this blog entry) As I mentioned above, we must know which UCM document we're going to attach. We may know its ID, its name... whatever we need to uniquely identify it calling the IDC Search method. This method returns ALL the info we need to attach the different fields labeled with a number above.  The only tricky one is (6). UCM Search service returns the url attribute as a context-root without hostname:port. E.g.: /cs/groups/public/documents/document/dgvs/mdaw/~edisp/ccasareswcptel000239.pdf However we do need to include the full qualified URL when mapping (6). Where to get the http://<hostname>:<port> value? Honestly, I have no clue. What I use to do is to use a BPM property that can always be modified at runtime if needed. There are some other fields that might be needed in the execData.attachment structure, like account (if UCM's is using Accounts). But for demos I've never needed to use them, so I'm not sure whether it's necessary or not. Feel free to add some comments to this entry if you know it ;-)  That's all folks. • MVC2: "File not found" after view is painted

  This is wierd. First, I'm building a site based on someone else's framework (Piers Lawson: Creating a RESTful Web Service using MVC ), so I'm not entirely sure what's going on under the covers. But when I run it in VS 2010 by pressing F5, it brings up the Home page, and THEN traps an error in Application_Error. The error is "File does not exist" exception. But I have no idea what file it's looking for. Where does flow control go after the View is finished displaying? How can I break to find out what it's looking for?
