  • Apache debugging: where to find error logs?

    - by AP257
I'm new to Apache and web serving generally, so apologies if this is a very stupid question. I want to configure a new sub-domain on a working site and install a forum there. I'm using a Debian server that already has Apache, mod_wsgi and a bunch of virtual hosts successfully running on it. I first installed my forum app (Django's OSQA). Following the OSQA instructions, I then created an Apache config file that specified ServerName as the new sub-domain. I also created a .wsgi file for the app, and pointed WSGIScriptAlias at it. I then restarted Apache. However, when I go to the new sub-domain, I get a 404 error message. Two questions: Is there a step missing above? Or is simply creating a new Apache config file in sites-available enough to 'tell' Apache about a new sub-domain? If there's something else going wrong, how can I debug it? The ErrorLog and CustomLog specified in the config file are both blank. apache2.conf, which I guess is Apache-wide configuration, specifies ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error.log, but this is yet another blank file.

  • IIS 7 URL Rewrite to GeoServer running on Apache

    - by Maxim Zaslavsky
I'm building a mapping application based on OpenLayers that uses GeoServer to serve up mapping data. The problem I'm having is that besides the map images I'm requesting through WMS, I'm using jQuery AJAX to get information from GeoServer. As GeoServer is running on a different port, my requests are being blocked due to cross-site scripting security policies in JavaScript. As a Java application, GeoServer runs on Apache on port 8080, while my IIS instance is running on port 80. Instead of building a proxy, I've decided to use URL Rewriting in IIS7 to fix this problem. I'm following this guide, but it's still not working. Here are my URL Rewrite rule settings: Matches URL: (.*) Condition: {HTTP_URL} matching /geoserver Action: rewrite to http://localhost:8080/{R:1}, appending query string When I request http://localhost/geoserver/wms?QUERY_LAYERS=SanDiego:FWSA_sandiego&LAYERS=SanDiego:FWSA_sandiego&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&FEATURE_COUNT=20&REQUEST=GetFeatureInfo&EXCEPTIONS=application/vnd.ogc.se_xml&BBOX=-13009123.590156,3862057.2905992,-13006066.109025,3865114.7717302&INFO_FORMAT=text/html&x=20&y=20&width=40&height=40&srs=EPSG:900913, however, all I get is a 404, although the same request on port 8080 returns the proper result. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I configure PHP5 and Apache2 on Ubuntu Server?

    - by rofls
I'm trying to follow these instructions (under the Troubleshooting PHP 5 heading). I have PHP installed and when when I run a2enmod php5 it says "Module php5 already enabled". The problem is I created a file, test.php, that's just this: <?php phpinfo(); ?> and put it in /var/www, like the instructions tell me to, but running curl http://localhost/test.php produces an Apache made 404 that says it can't find that file. I have: ServerName localhost DocumentRoot /var/www in one of the sites-available in the /etc/apache2 directory. I should probably figure this out on my own, but the instructions say for troubleshooting do: "If the problem persists, check your PHP file authorisations (it should be readable at least by Ubuntu user "apache"), and check if the PHP code is correct. For instance, copy your PHP file, replace your whole PHP file content by "" (without the quotation marks): if you get the PHP test page in your web browser, then the problem is in your PHP code, not in Apache or PHP configuration nor in file permissions. If this doesn't work, then it is a problem of file authorisation, Apache or PHP configuration, cache not emptied, or Apache not running or not restarted." And I don't know where the PHP file authorisations are or how to do that.

  • Custom HTTP Status Codes (a la Twitter 420: Enhance Your Calm) [migrated]

    - by Max Bucknell
I'm currently implementing an HTTP API, my first ever. I've been spending a lot of time looking at the Wikipedia page for HTTP status codes, because I'm determined to implement the right codes for the right situations. Listed on that page is a code with number 420, which is a custom code that Twitter used to use for rate limiting. There is already a code for rate limiting, though. It's 429. This led me to wonder why they would set a custom one, when there is already a use case. Is that just being cute? And if so, then which circumstances would make it acceptable to return a different status code, and what, if any problems may clients have with it? I read somewhere that Mozilla doesn't implement the joke 418: I’m a teapot response, which makes me think that clients choose which status codes they implement. If that's true, then I can imagine Twitter's funny little enhance your calm code being problematic. Unless I'm mistaken, and we can appropriate any code number to mean whatever we like, and that only convention dictates that 404 means not found, and 429 means take it easy.

  • Apache times out after 2 minutes, when Apache TimeOut is 120

    - by Robert Gowland
We have a set up where the browser makes an http request to Box A which in turn makes an http request to Box B. What we're encountering is that Box A waits for Box B to respond for two minutes then the users sees: The page cannot be displayed Explanation: There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. Try the following: * Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion. * Check spelling: Check that you typed the Web page address correctly. The address may have been mistyped. * Access from a link: If there is a link to the page you are looking for, try accessing the page from that link. Technical Information (for support personnel) * Error Code: 404 Not Found. The requested item could not be located. (12028) Watching the logs on Box B we see that it takes 5 minutes to do the work requested. The problem is that the apache time outs on both boxes are set 1200 (20m), not 120 (2m). Any ideas where to look?

  • Utility to store/cache all web pages and YouTube videos

    - by jonathanconway
I found myself in the following situation. I'm travelling abroad with my laptop. I connect to a WiFi point and do a bit of browsing and play a YouTube video or two. Then I disconnect and hop on either a plane or taxi. Now I want to go back to some of the webpages I was browsing before and continue reading them, or watch some more of that YouTube video. Unfortunately it seems like none of these resources are cached, or if they are, I have no idea how to access them. Here's what I'd like: A utility that starts when my computer boots and sits in the background, silently caching all the web pages that I view. Not only that, but also the resources such as YouTube videos. Later, when I re-navigate to a site while disconnected, the browser automatically pulls the pages from my cache rather than giving me a 404 error. Or I can click an icon in the system tray and see a list of all the pages/videos in the cache and view any that I like. I'm sure Internet Explorer had a feature like this at some point, like "Offline Mode" or something. But these days it doesn't seem to work. Even when I select that option I still can't view pages that I'm certain I downloaded before. So has the utility I'm talking about been developed yet?

  • Server 2008 NAT Internet Not Working

    - by Jack
I'm trying to set up Routing and Remote Access on Windows Server 2008 R2, I have a network connection that I want to share the internet from to another private network. The server has two NICs which are configured as follows: External NIC (Dynamically assigned by ISP) IP:10.175.4.150 Subnet:255.255.192.0 Gateway:10.175.0.1 DNS:10.175.0.1 Internal NIC IP:172.16.254.1 Subnet:255.255.255.0 Gateway:None DNS:None I have set the external NIC to be the public interface and enabled NAT on it in the RRAS MMC and set the internal NIC to be a private interface. I have also set up the DNS forwarding or whatever it is in the NAT section. From a client (IP:172.16.254.2) I can ping the server and access files on it, when I try to browse the web with the default gateway set to the internal NIC ip I end up getting a 404 page which is returned from the ISPs default gateway. I'm guessing it's something to do with the double NAT possibly. Trying to ping the ISPs default gateway from a private network client just times out as does accessing it directly. I've disabled and reconfigured RRAS multiple times and that doesn't seem to have made a difference, so can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

  • Assets not served - Apache Reverse proxy - Diaspora

    - by Matt
I have succeeded in installing Diaspora* on my subdomain diaspora.mattaydin.com. I have VPS running CentOS 5.7 with Plesk installed. By means of an vhost.conf and vhost_ssl.conf file I, (with the help of another gentleman) have managed to reverse proxy the app. vhost.conf: ServerName diaspora.mattaydin.com ServerAlias *.diaspora.mattaydin.com <Directory /home/diaspora/diaspora/public> Options -Includes -ExecCGI </Directory> DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public RedirectPermanent / https://diaspora.mattaydin.com vhost_ssl.conf ServerName diaspora.mattaydin.com DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ balancer://upstream%{REQUEST_URI} [P,QSA,L] <Proxy balancer://upstream> BalancerMember http://127.0.0.1:3000/ </Proxy> ProxyRequests Off ProxyVia On ProxyPreserveHost On RequestHeader set X_FORWARDED_PROTO https <Proxy *> Order allow, deny Allow from all </Proxy> <Directory /home/diaspora/diaspora/public> Options -Includes -ExecCGI Allow from all AllowOverride all Options +Indexes </Directory> DocumentRoot /home/diaspora/diaspora/public Basically it's working. However, the only thing that's not working are the assets. The do not get loaded not the server, as seen on diaspora.mattaydin.com The error messages I get in the access_ssl.log are a lot of: 11/Dec/2012:19:04:05 +0100] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.1" 404 2811 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_2) AppleWebKit/536.26.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.2 Safari/536.26.17" The error messages I get from diaspora's log file is: Started GET "//assets/branding/logo_large.png" for 77.250.99.193 at 2012-12-11 20:13:11 +0100 ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches [GET] "/assets/branding/logo_large.png"): lib/rack/chrome_frame.rb:39:in call' lib/unicorn_killer.rb:35:incall' Hope you guys can help me out. • Setup a new domain controller over a temporary VPN, but now Windows delays startup?

    - by Kris Anderson
I'm migrating servers from colo locations to Amazon's VPC EC2 instances. If anyone hasn't worked with Amazon VPC before, VPN is a pain in the arse! Anyways, I setup a new server that acts as the domain controller for our Amazon VPC. In order to migrate all the user accounts from our existing domain controllers I manually connected to our colo VPN using my user account on the new Amazon EC2 machine. I was able to join the domain and the new Amazon server became another domain controller on our network. So far so good. The problem I'm having is that when booting the EC2 domain controller (which is no longer connected to the VPN so it can't communicate with the existing controllers), it takes a good 6-8 minuted before I can remote into the server (instead of the 1-2 minutes it should take). Also, during this time most of the services we also run (like IIS) also give 404 errors until the 6-8 minutes have passed. It's almost like the domain controller is attempting to reach the other domain controllers first and after 6-8 minutes it falls back to the one located on the local machine? I don't think that's what's happening though, because Server 2008 R2 doesn't have primary and backup domain controllers. They're all equal as far as Windows is concerned. For my network adapter I have only one DNS listed, 127.0.0.1, so it should be looking up the local domain controller and not the other domain controllers it connected to over VPN when VPN was enabled. In the server logs I'm seeing these warnings pop up during a reboot: The winlogon notification subscriber is taking long time to handle the notification event (CreateSession). The winlogon notification subscriber took 409 second(s) to handle the notification event (CreateSession). Any ideas on what's happening here? I would try removing the existing domain controllers from the new Amazon EC2 machine, but I still need to connect over VPN a few times to migrate some data between the servers, and I don't want that change being reflected back to the other domain controllers in our colo locations.

  • Cannot 301 redirect with IIS URL Rewrite Module

    - by Justin
I am trying to troubleshoot my issue with the URL Rewrite Module on IIS 7. I migrated a Wordpress blog over to BlogEngine.net. There were only about 5 entries that I wanted to use 301 redirects to the new blog, so I wanted to simply create 5 exact match redirect rules using the rewrite module. For some reason the exact match rule never seems to take effect, I always get a 404 error when the original url is navigated to. I verified that my exact match pattern matched the existing backlinks and it does. I then tried a simple test and got the same behavior, no redirection. I created a page, test.html, on my site, I then created a second page, test2.html. So my exact match pattern is: "http://www.mydomain.com/test.html" And the rule is supposed to do a 301 redirect to "http://www.mydomain.com/test2.html " The redirect never happens. I created the steps for the rule based on the instructions in this page: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/461/creating-rewrite-rules-for-the-url-rewrite-module/ I don't see that I left out a step. After I apply the rule I've even gone as far as doing an IISReset to make sure it would be in effect but still no luck. Any thoughts on what I might have left out? (Note: my rewrite rules dont include the " " around them but I had to add since serverfault thinks I am trying to spam the system with multiple urls.)

  • How do I handle a request for "index.php/somepath" in Nginx config?

    - by Arne
I'm currently attempting to serve Icinga from nginx. The new Icinga-Web ui attempts to load a file from URL http://SERVER/icinga-web/index.php/appkit/squishloader/javascript (leading to a 404). How do I setup a location for this scenario? How do I get nginx to serve index.php and pass the full request path in a way Icinga understands? This is my current nginx config for icinga (adapted from the default apache config): server { server_name SERVER; root /opt/icinga/icinga-1.2.1; location /icinga-web/js/ext3 { alias /opt/icinga/icinga-1.2.1/lib/ext3; } location /icinga-web { alias /opt/icinga/icinga-1.2.1/pub; } location /icinga/cgi-bin { alias /opt/icinga/icinga-1.2.1/sbin; } location /icinga { alias /opt/icinga/icinga-1.2.1/share; } location ~ \.php([\?/].*)?$ { include fastcgi_params; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:61000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; } } Any thoughts? Thanks!

  • django : Serving static files through nginx

    - by PlanetUnknown
I'm using apache+mod_wsgi for django. And all css/js/images are served through nginx. For some odd, reason when others/friends/colleagues try accessing the site, jquery/css is not getting loaded for them, hence the page looks jumbled up. My html files use code like this - <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://x.x.x.x:8000/css/custom.css"/> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://1x.x.x.x:8000/js/custom.js"></script> My nginx configuration in sites-available is like this - server { listen 8000; server_name localhost; access_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.error.log; location / { index index.html index.htm; } location /static/ { autoindex on; root /opt/aa/webroot/; } } There is a directory /opt/aa/webroot/static/ which have corresponding css & js directories. The odd thing is that the pages show fine when I access them. I have cleared my cache/etc, but the page loads fine for me, from various browsers. Also, I don't see any 404 any error in the nginx log files. Actually the logs for nginx are not getting refreshed at all. I restarted the nginx server using root, is that incorrect ? There is a user www-data defined in the nginx configuration file. Any pointers would be great.

  • Apache2 - rewrite a bunch of specified pathname URLs to one URL

    - by James Nine
I need to rewrite a bunch of urls (about 100 or so) for SEO purposes, and there may be more being added in the future (probably another 50-100 later on). I need a flexible way of doing this and so far, the only way I can think of is to edit the .htaccess file using the rewrite engine. For example, I have a bunch of urls like this (please note that the query string is irrelevant, and dynamic; it could be anything. I was only using them purely as an example. I am only focusing on the pathname--the part between the hostname and query string, as marked in bold below): http://example.com/seo_term1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/another_seo_term2?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/yet_another_seo_term3?utm_source=example_ad_network&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/foobar_seo_term4 http://example.com/blah_seo_term5?test=1 etc... And they are all being rewritten to (for now): http://example.com/ What's the most efficient/effective way of doing this so that I may be able to add more terms in the future? One solution I came across is to do this (in the .htaccess file): RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [NC,QSA] However, the problem with this solution is that even invalid urls (such as http://example.com/blah) will be rewritten to http://example.com instead of giving a 404 code (which is what it is supposed to do anyway). I'm still trying to figure out how all this works, and the only way I can think of is to write 100 more RewriteCond statements (such as: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/seo_term1 [NC,OR]) before the RewriteRule directive. For example: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/seo_term1 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/another_seo_term2 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/yet_another_seo_term3 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/foobar_seo_term4 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/blah_seo_term5 [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [NC,QSA] But that doesn't sound very efficient to me. Is there a better way?

  • Apache2 Virtualhost practice config issue

    - by sisko
I am practicing virtualhost configuration. In my /var/www directory I have created 3 directories called test1, test2 and test3 each of which has a simple index.php script in it. I:E test1/index.php etc. In /etc/apache2/sites-available/test1 I have the following configuration: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost ServerName test1 DocumentRoot /var/www/test1 <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> <Directory /var/www/test1/> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined </VirtualHost> All the other sites have a similar virtualHost definition. I have enabled the site(the symlink appears in sites-enabled) and I have restarted apache. However, when I visit localhost/test1, I get a 404 Error. My error log show the following message: [Wed Oct 23 06:22:52 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /var/www/test1/test1 I don't know why I get the double test1/test1 in the error logs. I'm trying to find the right virtualHost setup which will allow all 3 test websites to be served from their URLs I:E test1/index.php, test2/index.php and test3/index.php. Can anyone help me out, please?

  • Apache web logs "GET http/1.1" 200 error?

    - by songdogtech
I've got some puzzling (at least to me) errors that show up in my webserver logs. What's puzzling is that they show my error page being referenced, but that error page doesn't show up as being displayed in hits on statcounter.com. Can someone tell me the difference in these two kinds of errors? Or is only one a "real" error? This is in WordPress, and I have my 404.php file in my theme redirecting to a static Wordpress page at mydomain.com/error/ These first two log entries show /error/, but a "hit" on my /error/ page doesn't show in my webstats. • Regular Windows 7 BSOD with Shrew VPN client

The Shrew VPN client appears to be a good alternative to the Cisco VPN Client on x64 Windows 7. However, since installing it I've seen fairly regular BSODs. Superuser appears to have several recommendations for the Shrew VPN Client as an alternative to the Cisco VPN client on 64 bit machines, so I wondered if anyone here has seen this problem and possibly found a solution to the problem? I've decided to run the VPN client under Windows 7 compatibility mode for the moment (Vista SP2) with administrator privileges to see if it makes a difference. Oddly, the VPN doesn't necessarily need to be connected. I've noticed it when browsing using Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, usually when I open up a new tab. If it carries on I think I'll be forced to shell out the 120 EUR for the NCP Client instead.

  • IIS 6 getting "Page Not Found" after applying SSL

    - by Dominic Zukiewicz
I am setting up SSL certificates on a development environment using IIS 6 on W2k3. I have a directory called login with a single page login.asp which I would like only viewable over SSL. So before installing or applying SSL permissions, the page is viewable through a browser. I can browse the page and it redirects etc. and all is good. However Basic Authentication is Base64 encoded so I want to secure the traffic from this page only. I have created a dummy certificate in makecert, installed it and added it to IIS. IIS is happy that it is trusted. I have selected the directory of login and child files to "Require SSL channel". When I refresh my browser on login/login.asp I get a "404: Page Not Found" in IE 8. So 2 issues here The page is now unviewable when using HTTPS. They must manually type the HTTPS (minor inconvenience for now) If I turn off "Require SSL Channel" from IIS, it works again. What part of the process am I missing as I have followed several tutorials on installed SSL certificates, but still come across this barrier.

  • Apache virtualhost - only apply script if file does not exist in document root

    - by Brett Thomas
Sorry for the newbie apache question. I'm wondering if it's possible to set up the following non-conventional apache virtualhost (for a Django app): -- If a file exists in the DocumentRoot (/var/www) it will be shown. So if /var/www/foo.html exists, then it can be seen at www.example.com/foo.html. -- If file does not exist, it is served via a virtualhost. I'm using mod_wsgi with a WSGIScriptAlias directive that points to a Django app. So if there is no /var/www/bar.html, www.example.com/bar.html will be passed to the Django app, which may or may not be a 404 error. One option is to create an Alias for each individual file/directory, but people want to be able to post a file without adding an alias, and we want to keep the above URL structure for legacy reasons. Simplified Virtualhost is: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName www.example.com DocumentRoot /var/www WSGIScriptAlias / /path/to/django.wsgi <Directory /path/to/app> Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> Alias /hi.html /var/www/hi.html </VirtualHost> The goal is to have www.example.com/hi.html work as above, without the Alias line

  • Combining URL mapping and Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *

    - by ksangers
I am in the progress of migrating an old banner system to a new one and in doing so I want to rewrite the old banner system's URL's to the new one. I load my banners via an AJAX request, and therefore I require the Access-Control-Allow-Origin to be set to *. I have the following VirtualHost configuration: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName banner.studenten.net # we want to allow XMLHTTPRequests Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*" RewriteEngine on RewriteMap bannersOldToNew txt:/home/user/banner.studenten.net/banner-studenten-net-to-ads-all4students-nl-map # check whether a zoneid exists in the query string RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*)zoneid=([1-9][0-9]*)(.*) # make sure the requested banner has been mapped RewriteCond ${bannersOldToNew:%2|NOTFOUND} !=NOTFOUND # rewrite to ads.all4students.nl RewriteRule ^/ads/.* http://ads.all4students.nl/delivery/ajs.php?%1zoneid=${bannersOldToNew:%2}%3 [R] # else 404 or something ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/banner.studenten.net-error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/banner.studenten.net-access.log combined </VirtualHost> My map file, /home/user/banner.studenten.net/banner-studenten-net-to-ads-all4students-nl-map, contains something like: # oldId newId 140 11 141 12 142 13 Based on the above configuration I was expecting the following: GET /ads/ajs.php?zoneid=140 HTTP/1.1 Host: banner.studenten.net HTTP/1.1 302 Found ... Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Location: http://ads.all4students.nl/delivery/ajs.php?zoneid=11 But instead I get the following: GET /ads/ajs.php?zoneid=140 HTTP/1.1 Host: banner.studenten.net HTTP/1.1 302 Found ... Location: http://ads.all4students.nl/delivery/ajs.php?zoneid=11 Note the missing Access-Control-Allow-Origin header, this means the XMLHttpRequest is denied and the banner is not displayed. Any suggestions on how to fix this in Apache?

  • Unable to understand why Alfresco doesn't start on Tomcat

    - by Infernalsirius
I have a problem that I've been inspecting for a while now, googling and everything but could not begin to understand. I'm really not used to java, even less tomcat. So there it is. First, the setup. Centos 5.3 on a virtualized server. Bitnami Native Alfresco stack (tomcat5.5, mysql5, java, javajdk, JDBC) Content of catalina.log. Since it's the shortest and where I found my first clue to what is going wrong: SEVERE: Error listenerStart Aug 27, 2009 5:32:58 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol init INFO: Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 Aug 27, 2009 5:32:58 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina load INFO: Initialization processed in 229 ms Aug 27, 2009 5:32:58 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService start INFO: Starting service Catalina Aug 27, 2009 5:32:58 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine start INFO: Starting Servlet Engine: Apache Tomcat/5.5.25 Aug 27, 2009 5:32:58 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost start INFO: XML validation disabled Aug 27, 2009 5:34:47 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Error listenerStart Aug 27, 2009 5:34:47 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Context [/alfresco] startup failed due to previous errors Aug 27, 2009 5:34:48 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol start INFO: Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 Aug 27, 2009 5:34:48 PM org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket init INFO: JK: ajp13 listening on /0.0.0.0:8009 Aug 27, 2009 5:34:48 PM org.apache.jk.server.JkMain start INFO: Jk running ID=0 time=0/11 config=null Aug 27, 2009 5:34:48 PM org.apache.catalina.storeconfig.StoreLoader load INFO: Find registry server-registry.xml at classpath resource Aug 27, 2009 5:34:48 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina start INFO: Server startup in 110327 ms Aug 27, 2009 5:38:27 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol pause INFO: Pausing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 Aug 27, 2009 5:38:28 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService stop INFO: Stopping service Catalina Aug 27, 2009 5:38:29 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol destroy INFO: Stopping Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 There's the content of catalina.out, it seems to be a stack trace or application trace of the error, is that right? • IIS ASP Redirect Removal

    - by Kim L
We have a website that is setup on IIS 7 and are trying to replace it with a new site, but need a redirect that is in place removed. The old site used a custom file as the homepage (WN-main.asp). We removed all the old site files, including web.config, and placed them in a subdirectory for safe keeping. The new site no longer uses ASP, and we'd like to use a regular index.html as the default. However, when we go to the website, it keeps trying to redirect our .com to .com/WN-main.asp -- and that gives us a 404 Error in the Application for "Default Web Site" because we removed that page. In the IIS "Default Document" settings we have index.html at the top, and WN-main.asp is nowhere to be found in the list (it never was there). We've also removed the web.config file from the root directory, and put the entire old website in a subdirectory. As well as restarted IIS. We're assuming that the redirect is setup somewhere in IIS because if I navigate to .com/index.html which is our new site, it works. Our problem is that oursite.com redirects to oursite.com/WN-main.asp. Grr. If you go to www.worzalla.com you can see how it redirects to the WN-main.asp page right now as the homepage. Any ideas where this redirect could have been setup so we can remove it? Thanks!

  • Using mod_rewrite to mask /cgi-bin/abc as /def

    - by Alois Mahdal
I have a seemingly easy task, but somehow I just can't get it to work: Some interesting lines from my httpd.conf: ... DocumentRoot "D:/opt/apache/htdocs" ... ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "D:/opt/apache/cgi-bin/" ... <Directory "D:/opt/apache/htdocs"> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks ExecCGI AllowOverride None Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> <Directory "D:/opt/apache/cgi-bin/"> AllowOverride None Options ExecCGI Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> (I know it's dumb but it's only a testing machine :D.) Now, I have d:\opt\apache\cgi-bin\expired.pl and I expect GET /licensecheck.php?code=123456. And I wish to fake client into thinking it speaks with /licensecheck.php, but actually return data by \expired.pl. What I tried was setting following at the end of http.conf: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/licensecheck.php$ /cgi-bin/expired.pl [T=application/x-httpd-cgi,L] ...but it keeps 404-ing me, looking for cgi-bin directory (not cgi-bin\expired.pl) in my DocumentRoot! [error] [client 127.0.0.1] script not found or unable to stat: D:/opt/apache/htdocs/cgi-bin /cgi-bin/expired.pl and all other scripts in /cgi-bin/ work as expected, Only way I could make it work was actually putting the \expired.pl to DocumentRoot, but I don't want this, I want my cgi-bin neatly separated :)
