• NULL values in object properties in Entity Framework

    - by Tony
Tables: Article, Author, Comment (1 article and 1 author can have * comments) In the database is 1 article, 1 author and 1 comment. The problem is, that code myBD my_bd = new myBD(); var articles = by_bd.Article; works OK, I can see that an Author and an Article has 1 comment. But that code var comm = (from u in my_bd.Comment where ...... select u); returns the comment but it has NULL values in property Article and Author. Why ?

  • Access
tag properties from form found in mediaboxAdvanced lightbox.

    - by Christopher Richa
I am building my portfolio website simply using HTML, Flash, and the Mootools Javascript framework. I have decided to implement a theme changing feature using Javascript and cookies. When the user clicks on the "Change Theme" link, a mediaboxAdvanced lightbox appears, containing a real-time form which allows you to change the theme on the portfolio. Here's the code for the form:

Change Your Theme
  <fieldset> Original Blue Green </fieldset>
I know, there is no submit button, but as soon as something is changed in that form, the following Mootools code happens: var themeChanger = new Class( { pageBody : null, themeOptions : null, initialize: function() { this.pageBody = $(document.body); this.themeOptions = $('background_color'); this.themeOptions.addEvent('change', this.change_theme.bindWithEvent(this)); }, change_theme: function(event) { alert("Hello"); } }); window.addEvent('domready', function() { var themeChanger_class = new themeChanger(); }); Now this is only a test function, which should be triggered when the dropdown menu changes. However, it seems that none of it works when the form is in the lightbox! Now if I decide to run the form outside of the lightbox, then it works great! Am I missing something? If you need more examples, I will fill in on demand. Thank you all in advance. -Christopher

  • Underline ie6-bug. Inline element in tag.

    - by kalininew
There is a markup: lorem ipsum15 There are styles: a{ text-decoration: underline; } a span{ background: #fff; //To clean the bottom underlining under } Works in all interesting me browsers. Except IE6. The bottom underlining under remains. How to solve this problem without changing a markup.

  • Visual Studio - How to disable autoformat/correct while running macro?

    - by Sam
When running a macro that changes the selected text, tags are automatically closed and the text formatted. How can I prevent that from happening? For example, wrapping text in a tag: DTE.ActiveDocument.Selection.Text = String.Format("<tag>{0}</tag>", DTE.ActiveDocument.Selection.Text) Ends up with two closing tags: <tag>Text</tag></tag> Even stranger, multiple lines fails:
One

Two

Three
An ends up as

One

Two

Three

How can I prevent that? As can be seen by the last example, the formatting is wrong and there is an extra

  • How can I get IE8 to accept a css :before tag?

    - by William Calleja
I have the following CSS code .editable:before { content: url(../images/icons/icon1.png); padding-right:5px; } this is used in conjuntion with the following markup: In every other blessed browser in the world my icon is appearing, but IE8 seems to have a problem with this. Isn't the :before pseudo-element CSS2? isn't content: also a CSS2 command? what gives?

  • Why "alt" attribute for tag has been considered mandatory by the HTML validator .. ?

    - by infant programmer
Is there any logical or technical reason (with the W3C validation) for making alt as required attribute .. This is my actual problem:though my page is perfect enough with respect to W3C validation rules .. Only error I am getting is line XX column YY - Error: required attribute "ALT" not specified I know the significance of "alt" attribute and I have omitted that where it is unnecessary .. (to be more elaborate .. I have added the image to increase the beauty of my page and I don't want alt attribute to show irrelevant message to the viewer) getting rid of the error is secondary .. rather I am curious to know whether is it a flaw with validation rules .. ?? I thank stackOverflow and all the members who responded me .. I got my doubt clarified .. :-)

  • How powerful is the Q1:What is the main difference (besides logical matters like organization, readability and ETC), what could be done in one way that could not be done in another? What is each mode best suited for ? Q2:If I'm going to develop a simple page with database connection, library imports, access to controls (ascx) and image access in other folders.. which method should I choose ?

  • Give style attributes to sub-elements inside a This is annoying, because I have to apply this style to every single thumbnail image individually, when there could be any number of them on the screen at any given time. All of the thumbnails are inside a single
that groups them together, and I'd like to apply a single style to the
that will push the attributes I need down to all of the the elements nested inside, regardless how many thumbnails there are. I'm using ASP.NET 2.0, and CSS 2.0 Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

  • Firefox: Can I use a relative path in the BASE tag?

    - by Aaron Digulla
I have a little web project where I have many pages and an index/ToC file. The toc file is at the root of my project in toc.html. The pages are spread over a couple of subdirectories and include the toc with an iframe. The project doesn't need a web server, so I can create the HTML in a directory and browse it in my browser. The problem is that I'm running into XSS issues when JavaScript from the toc.html wants to call a function in a page (violation of the same origin policy). So I added base tags in the header with a relative URL to the directory in which toc.html. This works for Konqueror but in Firefox, I have to use absolute paths or the toc won't even display :( Here is an example:

Project 1

This is file is in a subdirectory page. Firefox won't even load it, saying that it can't find page/toc.html. Is there a workaround? I would really like to avoid absolute paths in my export to keep it the same everywhere (locally and when I upload it on the web server later).

I have a XDocument that looks like this: XDocument outputDocument = new XDocument( new XElement("Document", new XElement("Stuff") ) ); That when I call outputDocument.ToString() Outputs to this: <Document> <Stuff /> </Document> But I want it to look like this: <Document> <Stuff> </Stuff> </Document> I realize the first one is correct, but I am required to output it this way. Any suggestions?

  • Saxon XSLT-Transformation: How to change serialization of an empty tag from <x/> to <x></x>?

    - by Ben
Hello folks! I do some XSLT-Transformation using Saxon HE 9.2 with the output later being unmarshalled by Castor 1.3.1. The whole thing runs with Java at the JDK 6. My XSLT-Transformation looks like this: <xsl:transform version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns="http://my/own/custom/namespace/for/the/target/document"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="no" /> <xsl:template match="/"> <ns:item> <ns:property name="id"> <xsl:value-of select="/some/complicated/xpath" /> </ns:property> </xsl:template> So the thing is: if the XPath-expression /some/complicated/xpath evaluates to an empty sequence, the Saxon serializer writes <ns:property/> instead of <ns:property></ns:property>. This, however, confuses the Castor unmarshaller, which is next in the pipeline and which unmarshals the output of the transformation to instances of XSD-generated Java-code. So my question is: How can I tell the Saxon-serializer to output empty tags not as standalone tags? Here is what I am proximately currently doing to execute the transformation: import net.sf.saxon.s9api.*; import javax.xml.transform.*; import javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource; // ... // read data XMLReader xmlReader = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader(); // ... there is some more setting up the xmlReader here ... InputStream xsltStream = new FileInputStream(xsltFile); InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(inputFile); Source xsltSource = new SAXSource(xmlReader, new InputSource(xsltStream)); Source inputSource = new SAXSource(xmlReader, new InputSource(inputStream)); XdmNode input = processor.newDocumentBuilder().build(inputSource); // initialize transformation configuration Processor processor = new Processor(false); XsltCompiler compiler = processor.newXsltCompiler(); compiler.setErrorListener(this); XsltExecutable executable = compiler.compile(xsltSource); Serializer serializer = new Serializer(); serializer.setOutputProperty(Serializer.Property.METHOD, "xml"); serializer.setOutputProperty(Serializer.Property.INDENT, "no"); serializer.setOutputStream(output); // execute transformation XsltTransformer transformer = executable.load(); transformer.setInitialContextNode(input); transformer.setErrorListener(this); transformer.setDestination(serializer); transformer.setSchemaValidationMode(ValidationMode.STRIP); transformer.transform(); I'd appreciate any hint pointing in the direction of a solution. :-) In case of any unclarity I'd be happy to give more details. Nightly greetings from Germany, Benjamin

  • kXML (XmlPullParser) not hitting END_TAG

    - by Tejaswi Yerukalapudi
    Hello all, I'm trying to figure out a way to rewrite some of my XML parsing code. I'm currently working with kXML2 and here's my code - byte[] xmlByteArray; try { xmlByteArray = inputByteArray; ByteArrayInputStream xmlStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlByteArray); InputStreamReader xmlReader = new InputStreamReader(xmlStream); KXmlParser parser = new KXmlParser(); parser.setInput(xmlReader); parser.nextTag(); while(true) { int eventType = parser.next(); String tag = parser.getName(); if(eventType == XmlPullParser.START_TAG) { System.out.println("****************** STARTING TAG "+tag+"******************"); if(tag == null || tag.equalsIgnoreCase("")) { continue; } else if(tag.equalsIgnoreCase("Category")) { // Gets the name of the category. String attribValue = parser.getAttributeValue(0); } } if(eventType == XmlPullParser.END_TAG) { System.out.println("****************** ENDING TAG "+tag+"******************"); } else if(eventType == XmlPullParser.END_DOCUMENT) { break; } } catch(Exception ex) { } My input XML is as follows - <root xmlns:sql="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-sql" xmlns="">
<elmt1>value1</elmt1> <elmt2>value2</elmt2>

<elmt1>value1</elmt1> <elmt2>value2</elmt2>

<elmt1>value1</elmt1> <elmt2>value2</elmt2>
My problem briefly is, I'm expecting it to hit XmlPullParser.END_TAG when it encounters a closing xml tag. It does hit the XmlPullParser.START_TAG but it just seems to skip / ignore all the END_TAGs. Is this how is it's supposed to work? Or am I missing something? Any help is much appreciated, Teja.

    I've a SOAP response in a var $soap_response like this: <SOAP-ENV:Envelope SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:clr="http://schemas.microsoft.com/soap/encoding/clr/1.0"> <SOAP-ENV:Header> <h3:__MethodSignature xsi:type="SOAP-ENC:methodSignature" SOAP-ENC:root="1" xmlns:h3="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/soap/messageProperties" xmlns:a2="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/ns/System.Collections">xsd:string a2:Hashtable</h3:__MethodSignature> </SOAP-ENV:Header> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <i4:ReturnDataSetResponse id="ref-1" xmlns:i4="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/nsassem/TOIServerAppl.clsRSchedule/TOIServerAppl"> <return href="#ref-6"/> </i4:ReturnDataSetResponse> <a3:DataSet id="ref-6" xmlns:a3="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/nsassem/System.Data/System.Data%2C%20Version%3D1.0.5000.0%2C%20Culture%3Dneutral%2C%20PublicKeyToken%3Db77a5c561934e089"> <XmlSchema id="ref-7"> <xs:schema id="NewDataSet" xmlns="" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata"> <xs:element name="NewDataSet" msdata:IsDataSet="true"> <xs:complexType> <xs:choice maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Table"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="id" type="xs:long" msdata:targetNamespace="" minOccurs="0" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:choice> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema> </XmlSchema> <XmlDiffGram id="ref-8">
</XmlDiffGram> </a3:DataSet> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> How can I extract id value from
? simplexml_load_string($soap_response); returns empty object array. I've seen someplaces that I might have to replace all those namespaces to make it work?

  • Html tidy pack replaces `&lt` instead of `< `and `&gt` instead of `>` for html tag.

    - by Harikrishna
I am tidying the html page by html tidy pack because there are some pages with missing ending tags So I can add the missing closing tags by html agility pack. But some times when I use the html tidy pack then that web page has changes like : If original table is

first row

After using html tidy pack the table is :
is now &lt table &gt. But I want like
. In this particular example it works perfectly but in some html page it replace &lt instead of <and &gt instead of >.

  • jquery ajax html response change 1.3.2 vs 1.4.2 (aka where is my script tag?)

    - by cmroanirgo
I've been using jquery 1.3.2 to pull snippets of html (including script) from a server. A typical response might be: <div id="content"<div id="inner"... <script type=... alert("hello world");</script <pHello World</p </div</div I've been using the query .get function: $.get($(this).attr("href"), function(response) { $("#inner").replaceWith($("#inner", response)); }); And everything is fine and works as expected: the returned html snippets get loaded into the DOM and the scripts run. When I use 1.4.2 however, I notice that the script tags have been removed and no longer run. Stepping into the newer jquery codebase yields the lines of code (line 4498) : ret.splice.apply( ret, [i + 1, 0].concat(jQuery.makeArray(ret[i].getElementsByTagName("script"))) ); which seems to be the culprit 'removing' the script from its happy resting place as part of the selector process. But it doesn't help me in injecting exactly what i want into the DOM. Any idea why jquery is doing this? More importantly, how can I go about fixing this so that my scripts run?
