  • Turning on and off HP Probook 4530S touchpad

    - by ScienceSE
    I installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my HP laptop and among some problems, one of which I'm trying to solve is the touchpad problem. It's working, but how can I turn on/off it? In SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (which was preinstalled) and Windows, the touchpad is enabled/disabled by touching the left upper corner, when small diode is situated. In Ubuntu, I touched that area many times, but nothing happened. Do anybody know how to solve the problem?

    I just got a new laptop, HP dm4, and I'm having problems getting the audio to work properly on it. http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=7b697a35465a9f7236fb94deb9ff97fa65e55489 I tried to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added: option snd-hda-intel model=ref this caused the audio to work, but it's muffled. I'm wondering if anybody knows what would be the correct options to get this POS to work. Thanks in advance

  • Windows 7 Drivers for Hp Tx2000 tablet Pc

    - by iceman
    Has anyone tried the new tablet features of windows 7 on the Hp tablet TX2001au : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3653674&lc=en&dlc=&cc=us&lang=&softwareitem=ob-77258-1&dest_page=product&os=4062 ? Hp has only Vista drivers and no Windows 7 drivers yet : link and link The main issues after installing Windows 7 is that the graphics card (Nvidia GeForce Go 6150) and the coprocessor are not detected.The latest 191.07 GeForce/ION Driver installer says that it cannot find any compatible hardware by the way, i still haven't been able to get Xp running on this . The Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 driver seems to be customized by HP !! If you install the laptopvideo2go.com/ drivers on Xp(after MS nags that it can't verify the publisher of the driver) , it shows the blue screen of death. Is there a way to debug the BSOD ?

  • Google Maps Api android key

    - by Cookie
    Hi, I have some trouble testing my Android application which includes the google maps API. The ooficial API example worked just fine but if I copy the code into my own project it keeps saying: "The application has stopped unexpectedly". I looked up the key in the keystore several times and registered it with google. Even tried reinstalling the SDK. Does anybody know what the problem is? • EXSLT date:format-date template without document() XSLT 1.0

    - by DashaLuna
    Hello guys, I'm using date:format-date template EXSLT file I'm using XSLT 1.0 and MSXML3.0 as the processor. My date:format-date template EXSLT file's declaration is: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" xmlns:tui="http://www.travelbound.co.uk/" xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl tui date" version="1.0"> ... </xsl:stylesheet> I cannot use document() function due to the 3rd party restrictions. So I have changed the months and days (similarly) from XML snippet: <date:months> <date:month length="31" abbr="Jan">January</date:month> <date:month length="28" abbr="Feb">February</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Mar">March</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Apr">April</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="May">May</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Jun">June</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Jul">July</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Aug">August</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Sep">September</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Oct">October</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Nov">November</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Dec">December</date:month> </date:months> to the variable: <xsl:variable name="months"> <month length="31" abbr="Jan">January</month> <month length="28" abbr="Feb">February</month> <month length="31" abbr="Mar">March</month> <month length="30" abbr="Apr">April</month> <month length="31" abbr="May">May</month> <month length="30" abbr="Jun">June</month> <month length="31" abbr="Jul">July</month> <month length="31" abbr="Aug">August</month> <month length="30" abbr="Sep">September</month> <month length="31" abbr="Oct">October</month> <month length="30" abbr="Nov">November</month> <month length="31" abbr="Dec">December</month> </xsl:variable> And correspondingly, I've changed the code that originally uses document() function from: [from month processing bit of EXSLT stylesheet] <xsl:variable name="month-node" select="document('')/*/date:months/date:month[number($month)]" /> to use MSXML3.0 node-set function: <xsl:variable name="month-node" select="msxsl:node-set($months)/month[number($month)]" /> So I assumed that this would work. According to the EXLT instructions "The format pattern string is interpreted as described for the JDK 1.1 SimpleDateFormat class." [I used current version]. I'm specifing the month in accordance to SimpleDateFormat class as 'dd MMMMM yyyy' so that the month will be the full month's name, for example January. But it doesn't work :( I've looked in EXSLT stylesheet and it has got the logic to do that. Also there is logic to display the name of the week for a day using 'E' pattern, which doesn't work for me. Maybe changing from using document() to variables broke it. Would really appreciate any help. Many thanks!

  • How to make sure that grub does use menu.lst?

    - by Glen S. Dalton
    On my Ubuntu 9.04 ("Karmic") laptop I suspect grub does not use the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. What happens on boot is that I see a blank screen and nothing happens. When I press ESC I see a boot list which is different from what I would expect from the menu.lst file. The menu lines are different and when I choose the first entry it does not use the kernel options that are in the first entry in menu.lst. Where do the entries that grub uses come from? How can I find out what happens, is there a log? I could not find anything in /var/log/syslog or /var/log/dmesg about grub using a menu.lst. How can I set it to work like expected? Some Files: $ sudo ls -la /boot/grub/*lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1558 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/command.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 121 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/fs.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/handler.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4576 2010-03-19 11:26 /boot/grub/menu.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1657 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/moddep.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 62 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/partmap.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22 2009-12-12 15:25 /boot/grub/parttool.lst $ sudo ls -la /vm* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 2009-12-12 16:15 /vmlinuz -> boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-16-generic lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 2009-12-12 14:07 /vmlinuz.old -> boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-generic $ sudo ls -la /init* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 2009-12-12 16:15 /initrd.img -> boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-16-generic lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 2009-12-12 14:07 /initrd.img.old -> boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-14-generic The only menu.lst that I found: $ sudo find / -name "menu.lst" /boot/grub/menu.lst $ sudo cat /boot/grub/menu.lst # menu.lst - See: grub(8), info grub, update-grub(8) # grub-install(8), grub-floppy(8), # grub-md5-crypt, /usr/share/doc/grub # and /usr/share/doc/grub-doc/. ## default num # Set the default entry to the entry number NUM.
