  • How to correctly cache images

    I just installed Google's Page Speed plugin to Firebug, and everything looks good except for caching. I have set headers to cache my JS and CSS files, but it says the images aren't being cached. How can I make sure the images get cached for 30 days? These are static images, so I can't just add the headers with PHP like I did with the other files.

  • Generating two thumbnails from the same image in Django

    Hello, this seems like quite an easy problem but I can't figure out what is going on here. Basically, what I'd like to do is create two different thumbnails from one image on a Django model. What ends up happening is that it seems to be looping and recreating the same image (while appending an underscore to it each time) until it throws up an error that the filename is to big. Can it all be done in SQL? Or can you recommend a better way?     Below I'm trying to match certain nodes. <xsl:template match="nodes"> <element> <xsl:apply-templates select="nodes" mode="different" /> </element> </xsl:template> Now, there are multiple ways of processing for the same nodes. I want to use this different way of processing within the current way of processing. That's why I perform apply-templates on the same selection, which is nodes, however the mode is different now. Here's how the different mode could look like: <xsl:template match="nodes" mode="different"> <!-- another way of processing these nodes --> </xsl:template> Now, this does not work. Only the first type of processing is processed and the apply-templates call is simply not applied. What am I doing wrong, how can I get what I want using XSLT? What could be another approach to solve this problem?

  • Burn bootable iso image to USB stick using dd: Won't boot (despite USB first in boot sequence)

    I have installed Ubuntu on a Lenovo Thinkpad R500 2732, and I must update the BIOS. On the Lenovo website, I am offered this: BIOS Update Bootable CD for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad R500 I guess a bootable CD that would do a BIOS update is indeed what I need. (still wondering why it says "Windows" though... if it is bootable should not it be OS-agnostic?) Not wanting to waste a CD, I copied the image to my USB stick: sudo dd if=/home/nico/7yuj40uc.iso of=/dev/sdb1 bs=1M And rebooted, after making sure USB is first in the boot sequence. PROBLEM: It does not boot. Did I forget one step? Details about the iso image (readme): ls -lh 7yuj40uc.iso 25M file 7yuj40uc.iso /home/nico/7yuj40uc.iso: # ISO 9660 CD-ROM filesystem data '7YUJ40US ' (bootable) (Scroll to the right: it says "bootable") UNetbootin does not work because it is not a Linux image. Some people on the Internet advise to copy the content of the ISO and do other steps. This ISO has zero ISO content so it would not work. If I mount the ISO, I can see it contains zero files.

    I created a dd image of a partition (containing an HFS+ FS) of one of my disks (and not the entire disk) a few days ago using the following command - dd conv=sync,noerror bs=8k if=/dev/sdc2 of=/path/to/img How can I mount it?     I get daily critical errors from Kaspersky involving Explorer.exe... The file in question is almost always in the Recycle Bin, or something on the desktop. Not sure if it's a bug, something to be concerned about, or an easy fix, etc. I usually just empty the recycle bin for a temporary fix, but would like to get to the root of the error. Thoughts?
